Mistaken identity?.......2006-08-21
I ordered this memory chip from among several listed as being for NOTEBOOK PC's(My PC being a Compaq Presario notebook). Upon reception, it was obviously for a desktop PC. I called the toll-free number for TigerDirect and it was confirmed that it WAS for a desktop, and was given a "Return Authorization" code number for a refund. I was also told, with regrets, that they had no chips for my notebook in stock.
I received notification of my refund and a credit to my credit card fairly promptly. However, I still have no chip and am "out" my time and money spent for "Shipping and Handling" and postage to return the item.
I'm not angry as I know these things happen in the best of worlds, but I probably wil try to get the chip at Best Buy or similar source.

Kingston is the OEM provider of Toshiba for all their Laptops, so the quality and compatibility is no question. But it is wondering that the price of Kingston is lower than Viking and Simpletech.
Anyway, because of the high memory requirement of Windows XP, it is worthy to install additional memory for your laptop, more memory means faster performance.

This is the right memory for old Gateway Performance 800 pc.
Kingston 256MB Module for Gateway Performance 1000 PC.......2007-01-28
This module works great. The Gateway Performance 1000 is only allowed to handle 512 mb. The computer has three slots, which leaves one slot open if two 256 cards are used. For this computer only buy the KGW3400 module. Other modules bought at Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's, etc. will not work.
