Decent sound, Not durable.......2007-12-26
I bought these earbuds in July, it's now December and they have crapped out on me. I feel like my use of them was normal. I'd use them with my little Sandisk Sansa Express player, carrying it all around in my pocket.
What happened is the end by the plug has become flexed too much I guess. I have to twist and turn the wire in order to hear sound in the right ear now. They are basically worthless to me at this point. The plastic is just not very protective of the wires inside.
They were good until they broke. I liked the different sizes of ear canal attachments.
These earphones convinced me to write my first review.......2007-12-21
I have never written a review on amazon.com, or any website for that matter, and I've been online shopping for a very long time. These headphones are what I've been looking for for so long. I never thought I especially had a difficult time fitting earbuds in my ears, but somehow these so much better than any earphones I've ever had. The bass is perfect (even though it is always adjustable via EQ for iPod owners), and the noise reducing actually is TRUE, unlike most earphone claims, as I can have my iPod set to half volume and I still don't hear my obnoxiously loud fish tank at home or people talking while they walk by me on campus.
Also, I can have my iPod up all the way on volume and I don't hear one crack in the sound, even on my hardest and loudest songs.
And once again, I CANNOT get over how amazingly these fit, just with the original size of the rubber covers still on them. I've yet to try out the other sizes, but if they fit even better, I'm convinced that I will continue to buy these headphones for the rest of my musical life.
BUY THEM. I would have paid four times the amount I paid for these if I knew they were these good ahead of time.
Earphones just don't get better than this. I can't even imagine how they could.
Cheaper options are just as good........2007-12-21
I had to return the product because one bud was noticeably louder than the other. Ignoring this problem, the sound was just okay and there was no real noise reduction. The black rubber that goes in your ear is thin and hollow, so it does nothing to block outside noise. There are other options such as a colby on amazon for around $5 that would be just as good for a third of the price.
Don't think you're getting a bargain.......2007-12-21
I bought these to replace my worn-out Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia In-The-Ear Headphones (Black) and stupidly, thought I would save a few bucks by buying the Jlab earbuds this time around. I had become quite attached to the in-ear design, having discovered that it gives vastly superior sound quality and outside-sound blocking above the old style of standard earphone designs. I thought, well, these are in-ear headphones, they surely give similar quality sound, right? Wrong. After trying them out for a day, I got curious and plugged in my old Sonys (ragged but still functioning) and the difference was dramatic. The Sonys gave crisp highs and booming bass, and clear sound. The Jlabs, by comparison, was like listening to music underwater. So take it from me, spend the extra $10 or $20 and get yourself some Sonys or equivalent mid-price range headphones.
Work great!.......2007-12-21
My brother kept complaining about how bad the ipod earphones sucks. I bought these as a gift for him and he has nothing negative to say about them!!

Customer Reviews:
Just what I was hoping for.......2007-08-24
I'm impressed with this little thing. The case is well-made and has a very solid feel. The Nano fits perfectly into the skin and into the MiniBlaster. I didn't have difficulties with the fit like others mentioned. Getting the Nano out takes some pushing, but that's the way it should be. You don't want it falling out on it's own and hitting the pavement. All the Nano controls are accessible. The front, circular control (volume/scroll) works fine through a silicon skin and is very protected.
The reason we buy this thing is for sound and size. Size and weight are impressively minimal. You won't beat that anywhere. As for sound, it's not a home entertainment center or a Bose IPod system - it's a tiny little device that offers maximum portability. If you can bring your Bose system along with you, then do it. If you need something small and more portable, then read on.
The sound has a distinct clarity. Mids to highs are crisp and well separated. What you loose is bass. It's attenuated, but not dull or muddy. I wasn't expecting strong bass with a frequency response of 450Hz to 20KHz. It's not built for it and shouldn't be expected.
It's made, as others have said, for you and a couple of friends in an environment without too much ambient noise. If you are looking for a system that you can play at a beech party with a big group of friends, keep looking, because this isn't it. Too many voices chatting away will drown this little thing out.
In a reasonably quiet room or out on the trail, you get enough volume to really enjoy the music. It's loud enough to hear the detail in the sound. It even gets too loud for conversations and has to be turned down. Don't get me wrong, the neighbors won't be calling or stomping on the floor. It has what it needs to fill the niche that it's designed for.
I personally like the sound with the EQ set to "Small Speakers" - seems like a good balance for Classic Rock which I tend to listen to the most.
If you want a small, light and very portable speaker system to free you from headphones and make portable music a social experience between friends again, then you are onto something.
Enjoy!
Great for use while traveling.......2007-08-11
I wanted to be able to listen to podcasts and my own music while commuting and so first purchased (for $80) an FM converter that plugged into the lighter and my iPod and then matched an unused frequency to play what was on the iPod. The sound wasn't great and it changed depending on where I was driving. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right static frequency and match it with the device. In the short time that I tried it out I had to switch frequencies twice.
So, I looked for a speaker. I decided that it wouldn't be a disaster to buy something at this price to try even if it didn't work great. It was what I was looking for! I can use it in the car and also other places where I want to play what is on my ipod so that others can hear. It is not great sound quality, but it is much better than what I was getting with the FM converter and much easier. I can either use batteries or the AC adaptor (I already have a device that converts the cigarette lighter into AC power).
It is a great solution for what I was looking for.
Good Product.......2007-07-26
I recommend this product over similar products that are outrageously expensive. Powerful sound for it's size and easy to use. Great value.
Wow, under 15 bucks including shipping!.......2007-07-04
Don't expect too much bass out of -any- tiny speakers but as a way to turn your nano into a sort of 21st century "transistor radio" equivalent with stereo audio and a better sound quality, this little thing is superb. Talk radio podcasts are delivered very clearly and music can be enjoyed to an extent especially if you choose an appropriate EQ setting on your nano. Volume capability is decent, just don't expect to entertain an audience bigger than about two or three. Battery life is good for the 4x AAA batteries.
JLab Audio.......2007-06-08
The sound is good from the Miniblaster, but getting my Ipod in and out of it is a real chore!! It is very difficult to do. It not only is very hard to place in the miniblaster, but getting it out is even worse. I like the size of it as it doesn't take up a lot of room when I place it on the counter. Just difficult to use. It is also hard to adjust the volume with the "skin" on it.

Great sound quality for such a tiny package.......2007-11-05
I bought the miniblaster portable speaker in December 2006. I was amazed at the quality of the sound for such tiny speakers. Now, almost one year later, the speakers are still going strong. If you are looking for good quality pocket size speakers, these are a good choice.
A Great iPod Speaker........2007-08-08
It is tiny, compact (no wiggley parts to break off) it runs on batteries as well as AC and I am completely delighted with it.JLab Audio MBBG1 Miniblaster Portable Speaker for iPod Nano (Gen 1) - Black
STOP THINKING AND BUY IT.......2007-07-28
Best bang for the buck...i read all the reviews. just buy it. you can't beat $15 shipped. it gets the job done.
Excellent Company.......2007-06-11
My 11 year old daughter saved her $$ and did some on line research and ended up buying these. She loved them for the size which allowed her to take them into bed, on the bus etc. The audio in my opinion was "OK", but she was very happy.
We had bought them along with their noise reducing ear buds which I use while traveling in planes. I can wear them x- country very comfortably
Unfortunately we had technical problems and contacted JBL. I happened to email them on a Sunday afternoon and in about 15 minutes a real person (Josh) responded. A real person.... on a Sunday!!
He resolved the issue- which ultimately required a warranty replacement.
I cannot say enough good things about this company and Josh. I woudl buy their products again without hesitation
What a disappointment........2007-05-26
On my first foray into looking for the perfect mini speaker for my Ipod, I bought the Aiptek Mist for Nano (not realizing it only works with Gen 2 Nano)---boy, was it a cute little thing. Disappointed they don't make that product for Gen 1 Nanos, I searched Amazon for the perfect replacement mini speaker that would work with my Nano Gen 1. The JLab Miniblaster had 4 stars. Folks, speak up, because I cannot be the only one who was shocked by the low quality of this product!!
*When I first plugged it in, you couldn't hear anything because of interference from my TV remote!
*When I finally heard sound it was fuzzy at best and never got much better
*The volume level is only a smidgen better than what I can hear through my earbuds when they are out of my ears!
I read and re-read the direction and am convinced I did everything properly. I even tried it with battery power only, in the house, out of the house. No luck. This is a lousy product and I am giving it one star. This is being shipped back today.

Music to my ears!.......2007-11-27
I purchased these headphones on 10/24/2007, and I'm quite pleased. Great stereo sound, durable and sturdy, inexpensive, with a nice, snug comfortable fit. Love them! I strongly endorse these headphones. Great for those late night t.v. viewings when you don't want to disturb family members who are sleeping.
Comfortable and Convenient.......2007-09-01
These headphones are very, very comfortable. The padding on the ears are a soft cushion, not the leathery kind that makes your ears sweat. I got full-size because I don't like headphones pressing on my ears and the padding fits around my ears perfectly, so I can wear these for hours. Plus the cord is over a little over 6 feet long so it's very convienient when you want to move around without carrying anything. The sound is full so if listening to classical, you can distinguish which instruments you are hearing. These are not noise-cancelling and not super bass, for those who are looking for either. I am very satistfied with these and other jensen headphones I've had in the past.

Customer Reviews:
Comfortable, but thats all.......2006-07-30
My old Sonys broke and I needed a quick pair of phones so I saw these and went for them knowing I was taking a chance. The frequency range got me excited about them but the price tag did not. Here's what I found:
Pros:
Very comfortable including long term use
Good highs
Cons:
Mids and lows are horrible.
Some songs with a good balance of lows mids and highs produce an unacceptable amount of static.
Bent connector can get annoying with some of the devices I plug my phones into - I prefer straight connectors but that is just my personal preference.
Conclusion:
I listen to a large range of music from metal to pop to piano to full orchestra. For everything I listen to, these are just plain sub par.
For larger heads.......2006-07-20
I got these many because I liked the earlier model UR15C. I bought these and took them bad because of dissappointment. They don't fit, and I have a pretty normal sized head. The earcups are supposed to go around your ear, and I couldn't get the earcups to get a seal around my ear because they'd keep going in different directions. When I pressed the earcups to my ears they sounded good but otherwise they sounded terrible, no bass at all. I'd only recommend for larger heads.
The Best headphones i have ever owned........2006-05-01
these headphones are amazing. they are comfortable and loud, so i dont need to crank up my music. buy these if u are going to buy anyting because especially for the price they are amazing.

Decent Headphones.......2007-04-13
I was tring to replace some head phones that I use for my PC. I wanted the larger style ear pieces, a long cord, plus an in-line external volume control. These headphone have all of this, but they are still missing something. The volume control, is very cheap feeling, and does not have much range. The Ear pieces are comforable for a short time, but become annoying after an hour or so. The sound quality is to be expected, there is some loss of quality in the low tones, and it doesn't reproduce low bass drops.
Overall these were a good buy for the price, if you need high quality you just have to pay more. But if your like me and haveing had a hard time finding that exteranl, in-line volume control, I would give these a shot
Very good headphones!.......2007-02-12
I shopped around for this before I purchased. Walmart, on line, and this was the best I found. I was even happier when I received the headphones for they were just like the discription.
