Decent sound, Not durable.......2007-12-26
I bought these earbuds in July, it's now December and they have crapped out on me. I feel like my use of them was normal. I'd use them with my little Sandisk Sansa Express player, carrying it all around in my pocket.
What happened is the end by the plug has become flexed too much I guess. I have to twist and turn the wire in order to hear sound in the right ear now. They are basically worthless to me at this point. The plastic is just not very protective of the wires inside.
They were good until they broke. I liked the different sizes of ear canal attachments.
These earphones convinced me to write my first review.......2007-12-21
I have never written a review on amazon.com, or any website for that matter, and I've been online shopping for a very long time. These headphones are what I've been looking for for so long. I never thought I especially had a difficult time fitting earbuds in my ears, but somehow these so much better than any earphones I've ever had. The bass is perfect (even though it is always adjustable via EQ for iPod owners), and the noise reducing actually is TRUE, unlike most earphone claims, as I can have my iPod set to half volume and I still don't hear my obnoxiously loud fish tank at home or people talking while they walk by me on campus.
Also, I can have my iPod up all the way on volume and I don't hear one crack in the sound, even on my hardest and loudest songs.
And once again, I CANNOT get over how amazingly these fit, just with the original size of the rubber covers still on them. I've yet to try out the other sizes, but if they fit even better, I'm convinced that I will continue to buy these headphones for the rest of my musical life.
BUY THEM. I would have paid four times the amount I paid for these if I knew they were these good ahead of time.
Earphones just don't get better than this. I can't even imagine how they could.
Cheaper options are just as good........2007-12-21
I had to return the product because one bud was noticeably louder than the other. Ignoring this problem, the sound was just okay and there was no real noise reduction. The black rubber that goes in your ear is thin and hollow, so it does nothing to block outside noise. There are other options such as a colby on amazon for around $5 that would be just as good for a third of the price.
Don't think you're getting a bargain.......2007-12-21
I bought these to replace my worn-out Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia In-The-Ear Headphones (Black) and stupidly, thought I would save a few bucks by buying the Jlab earbuds this time around. I had become quite attached to the in-ear design, having discovered that it gives vastly superior sound quality and outside-sound blocking above the old style of standard earphone designs. I thought, well, these are in-ear headphones, they surely give similar quality sound, right? Wrong. After trying them out for a day, I got curious and plugged in my old Sonys (ragged but still functioning) and the difference was dramatic. The Sonys gave crisp highs and booming bass, and clear sound. The Jlabs, by comparison, was like listening to music underwater. So take it from me, spend the extra $10 or $20 and get yourself some Sonys or equivalent mid-price range headphones.
Work great!.......2007-12-21
My brother kept complaining about how bad the ipod earphones sucks. I bought these as a gift for him and he has nothing negative to say about them!!
Product Description
Whether used to block out sound while on an aircraft or to create a tranquil environment so you can enjoy your favorite CD track, these new headphones are up to the challenge. The new RP-HC300 noise canceling headphones are designed to reduce background noise by creating out-of-phase sounds that equal the background noise to effectively cancel it. Additionally, the headphones reduce low frequencies such as the drone of a plane's engine or a loud air conditioning unit. The noise-canceling feature can also be switched off to allow the user to converse or to reduce background noise by virtue of the headphone's comfortable insulated housing. Includes carrying pouch and plug adapter for airplane

Cash Canceling Headphones.......2007-12-13
Here is why this product fails to deliver on the $150 price I paid for it. First, it does NOT cancel noise but only an eighth of low frequency ambient sound which essentially is... nothing. The "noise canceling" label misleads. At best, the label should read "Low frequency reducing". Second, the quality of sound it delivers misses the lows and highs one expects for such a high priced set of headphones. Third, while it is bearable, it is uncomfortable. Fourth, it is overpriced, whether at $90 or $150. I would not have paid more than $20 had I known what I was REALLY getting.
I would try another brand if I were you. As it is, I will now have to spend MORE money getting some honest to goodness Noise Canceling headphones that actually deliver on the promise. And that is why I say buying Panasonic RP-HC300 headphones are "cash canceling" because after you pay the $90 or $150 asking price, you have to go out again and spend another $150-200 for some REAL noise canceling headphones that actually do the job.
Be forewarned.
Random Noise.......2007-09-02
I have had these headphones for a few years now. I also do a lot of traveling for my company (ie flying). About a half year ago the headphones started emiting small pops and hisses (all of which are pretty much covered over by music). I contacted Panasonic help center and they referred me to an "authorized dealer". A search from their website shows the nearest "authorized dealer" is a measly 1200+ miles from my location. I followed through email about location and they never replied. I will not purchase another Panasonic product again.
Good job and worth the money.......2007-08-22
The wife and I bought two pair of these for our trip to Germany last year. I have since used them several on flights to FL where I go monthly. They are very comfortable and the battery life is good. The case is handy for carrying them also. Plenty of room for an IPod on the middle.
The only flaw is that the sound is slightly muddy when compared to my Sennheiser HD-497s. The lows a little boomy.
Highly recommended though.
Shoddy workmanship + 90 day warranty = a waste of money.......2007-08-21
I received these as a christmas gift, and a few months later the left headphone detached from the headband. I called Panasonic, and was informed that the warranty is only 90 days, and that I would need to pay for its repair or replacement by mailing it to Texas. They didn't know how much it would cost to fix, and told me to call the same 800 number I had just called. Terrible. Spend the extra money to get the Bose. I wish I did.
Good Noise Canceling Headphones .......2007-08-09
These headphones work great if there is no other source of radio frequency in the vicinity of cable that connects the head phones with the device (e.g. no problem in an airplane but in a car with cell phones the static can be annoying).

Customer Reviews:
Just what I was hoping for.......2007-08-24
I'm impressed with this little thing. The case is well-made and has a very solid feel. The Nano fits perfectly into the skin and into the MiniBlaster. I didn't have difficulties with the fit like others mentioned. Getting the Nano out takes some pushing, but that's the way it should be. You don't want it falling out on it's own and hitting the pavement. All the Nano controls are accessible. The front, circular control (volume/scroll) works fine through a silicon skin and is very protected.
The reason we buy this thing is for sound and size. Size and weight are impressively minimal. You won't beat that anywhere. As for sound, it's not a home entertainment center or a Bose IPod system - it's a tiny little device that offers maximum portability. If you can bring your Bose system along with you, then do it. If you need something small and more portable, then read on.
The sound has a distinct clarity. Mids to highs are crisp and well separated. What you loose is bass. It's attenuated, but not dull or muddy. I wasn't expecting strong bass with a frequency response of 450Hz to 20KHz. It's not built for it and shouldn't be expected.
It's made, as others have said, for you and a couple of friends in an environment without too much ambient noise. If you are looking for a system that you can play at a beech party with a big group of friends, keep looking, because this isn't it. Too many voices chatting away will drown this little thing out.
In a reasonably quiet room or out on the trail, you get enough volume to really enjoy the music. It's loud enough to hear the detail in the sound. It even gets too loud for conversations and has to be turned down. Don't get me wrong, the neighbors won't be calling or stomping on the floor. It has what it needs to fill the niche that it's designed for.
I personally like the sound with the EQ set to "Small Speakers" - seems like a good balance for Classic Rock which I tend to listen to the most.
If you want a small, light and very portable speaker system to free you from headphones and make portable music a social experience between friends again, then you are onto something.
Enjoy!
Great for use while traveling.......2007-08-11
I wanted to be able to listen to podcasts and my own music while commuting and so first purchased (for $80) an FM converter that plugged into the lighter and my iPod and then matched an unused frequency to play what was on the iPod. The sound wasn't great and it changed depending on where I was driving. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right static frequency and match it with the device. In the short time that I tried it out I had to switch frequencies twice.
So, I looked for a speaker. I decided that it wouldn't be a disaster to buy something at this price to try even if it didn't work great. It was what I was looking for! I can use it in the car and also other places where I want to play what is on my ipod so that others can hear. It is not great sound quality, but it is much better than what I was getting with the FM converter and much easier. I can either use batteries or the AC adaptor (I already have a device that converts the cigarette lighter into AC power).
It is a great solution for what I was looking for.
Good Product.......2007-07-26
I recommend this product over similar products that are outrageously expensive. Powerful sound for it's size and easy to use. Great value.
Wow, under 15 bucks including shipping!.......2007-07-04
Don't expect too much bass out of -any- tiny speakers but as a way to turn your nano into a sort of 21st century "transistor radio" equivalent with stereo audio and a better sound quality, this little thing is superb. Talk radio podcasts are delivered very clearly and music can be enjoyed to an extent especially if you choose an appropriate EQ setting on your nano. Volume capability is decent, just don't expect to entertain an audience bigger than about two or three. Battery life is good for the 4x AAA batteries.
JLab Audio.......2007-06-08
The sound is good from the Miniblaster, but getting my Ipod in and out of it is a real chore!! It is very difficult to do. It not only is very hard to place in the miniblaster, but getting it out is even worse. I like the size of it as it doesn't take up a lot of room when I place it on the counter. Just difficult to use. It is also hard to adjust the volume with the "skin" on it.

Great sound quality for such a tiny package.......2007-11-05
I bought the miniblaster portable speaker in December 2006. I was amazed at the quality of the sound for such tiny speakers. Now, almost one year later, the speakers are still going strong. If you are looking for good quality pocket size speakers, these are a good choice.
A Great iPod Speaker........2007-08-08
It is tiny, compact (no wiggley parts to break off) it runs on batteries as well as AC and I am completely delighted with it.JLab Audio MBBG1 Miniblaster Portable Speaker for iPod Nano (Gen 1) - Black
STOP THINKING AND BUY IT.......2007-07-28
Best bang for the buck...i read all the reviews. just buy it. you can't beat $15 shipped. it gets the job done.
Excellent Company.......2007-06-11
My 11 year old daughter saved her $$ and did some on line research and ended up buying these. She loved them for the size which allowed her to take them into bed, on the bus etc. The audio in my opinion was "OK", but she was very happy.
We had bought them along with their noise reducing ear buds which I use while traveling in planes. I can wear them x- country very comfortably
Unfortunately we had technical problems and contacted JBL. I happened to email them on a Sunday afternoon and in about 15 minutes a real person (Josh) responded. A real person.... on a Sunday!!
He resolved the issue- which ultimately required a warranty replacement.
I cannot say enough good things about this company and Josh. I woudl buy their products again without hesitation
What a disappointment........2007-05-26
On my first foray into looking for the perfect mini speaker for my Ipod, I bought the Aiptek Mist for Nano (not realizing it only works with Gen 2 Nano)---boy, was it a cute little thing. Disappointed they don't make that product for Gen 1 Nanos, I searched Amazon for the perfect replacement mini speaker that would work with my Nano Gen 1. The JLab Miniblaster had 4 stars. Folks, speak up, because I cannot be the only one who was shocked by the low quality of this product!!
*When I first plugged it in, you couldn't hear anything because of interference from my TV remote!
*When I finally heard sound it was fuzzy at best and never got much better
*The volume level is only a smidgen better than what I can hear through my earbuds when they are out of my ears!
I read and re-read the direction and am convinced I did everything properly. I even tried it with battery power only, in the house, out of the house. No luck. This is a lousy product and I am giving it one star. This is being shipped back today.

Customer Reviews:
returned item.......2007-11-25
wow what a bad purchase this was. They are as non functional as they are hideous, and they are hideous. The sound quality was good, but anyone within earshot (which doesn't have to be far) can hear nearly at the same volume as the wearer. I returned these immediately and bought a pair of Bose, which I'm extremely happy with.
Stay away.
The best.......2007-05-24
These headphones are phenomenal. They provide such amazing sound quality. And they also reduce the risk of hearing loss, which is now a much bigger issue for this iPod generation. Remember that 5-30 minute ear popping you got after those in-ear Apple headphones that usually broke and started playing the bass all funny? 'Tis a thing of the past. The only downside of this is that everyone around you can hear it if it's too loud, which is probably going to provide more sense to turn it down, reducing the dB exposure to the eardrums even more than 40%. And the bass, treble, and every other sound you can thing of comes in cleaner than it did in the studio. I've heard that Ultrasone's more expensive products have even better performance, but I'm not sure that's even possible.
A truly superb headphone........2007-05-23
I am a headphone aficionado, and I own about 30 pairs from the Sony V6 and V600 to the Sony EX-90, the Senheiser PXC300, RS140 and on and on; you get the idea. The Ultrasone iCans Naos which I own are unique and wonderful. I view headphones as some view musical instruments, with each producing a unique timbre and varying quality of sound. With headphones, physical comfort is also a significant issue. The iCans absolutely excel in every facet. They are everything a headphone should be. They reproduce the full sound spectrum with great assertiveness and exceptional accuracy. They are extremely comfortable and portable to boot. The Ultrasone S-Logic audio enhancement creates a wonderful sense of spaciousness, with none of the negative artifacts of typical "surround sound" headphones.
If you buy one pair of headphones, the iCans are the ones to buy. They do far more than improve in a linear fashion upon other headphones. Ultrasone has created something truly unique and wonderful.
unbelievable sound and comfort with great style.......2007-03-29
Loved the Naos. They match my Nano perfect, have really thick foam pads that block alot of exterior noise and are very comfortable and secure. But the best part is the sound. I didn't know my MP3 could sound so good. Great bass response. And they are supposed to protect my ears. Worth every penny.
best sounding mp3 headphone..........2006-11-04
I have read either rave reviews, or disappointing reviews about the icans...which I suppose is to be expected from a headphone with such a unique design. My advice...buy a pair...follow the instructions on how to wear them...and you'll be amazed. The sound is incomparable...the comfort is amazing..and I've owned mine several months and they hold up well. They are the absolute best portable headphones I've ever owned...

Customer Reviews:
OK, but problems with the rubber ear bud covers.......2007-11-27
The rubber ear bud covers tend to fall off and I haven't been able to replace them. If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy over the ear noise canceling head phones.
Great little headphones, but seem to break easily.......2007-08-28
I purchased these headphones when I was writing my senior thesis in college to block out all distractions. The sound quality was great, and the noise cancelation is quite impressive. This is the only pair of noise-canceling headphones I have ever used, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but they seemed to do a great job cutting down on ambient noise. No complaints there.
However, after about 4 months of steady use, the speaker in the left ear stopped working. If I fiddled with the wire a little bit the sound would come in and out, suggesting that a wire had come loose from the speaker.
From reading other reviews, this appears to be a common problem, and until Sony addresses the issue, I would stay away from these headphones. I suppose you sacrifice some durability for the small size, which is too bad. It is important for me to note that I am an incredibly loyal Sony customer, but can't endorse a product that can't stand up to under a year of normal use.
Did NOT last past 90 days!.......2007-05-30
I bought these at full retail price ($99.99) in February 2007. They worked well for a little over three months, and then all of a sudden, from normal everyday use, the left earbud just stopped working. UGH!
The noise cancellation worked well enough, particularly during my daily NYC subway commute. However, it was too easy to get the cords tangled. Plus, the triangular on-off switch/clip-on was at an awkward length for use with an iPod, on a treadmill or elliptical machine. (Also, it was easy to forget that noise cancellation was on, so I would wear down the battery frequently. It should have an auto shut-off feature.)
In short, it does what it's supposed to do, but for the price, it should last a good couple of years. I do NOT recommend this product. Do a search for "earbuds" or "headphones" here on Amazon, sort by "Bestselling," and choose something else.
Great Headphones, not so great seller........2007-04-03
I'm sitting in my Hotel in the Ukraine writing this after having just flown here from New York, via Vienna. I ordered these through a seller at amazon from ace digital club. They did not arrive before my trip even though I paid extra for expedited shipping. That was probably a good things as it forced me to look elsewhere. I found them at a local store. Actually these are the newer NC-22's, so they may perform better than the 11's, but I loved these headphones. There was a crying baby about two rows from me and with the NC on , the crying was barely noticable. Howl of the plane noice went totally away. It was a completely new air travel experience for me. I would recommend these babies to anyone going on a long flight, but get the NC-22's to be on the safe side and I would not recommend Ace Digital Club.
Serious durability issues.......2007-04-02
Thought they were okay, the noise canceling and sound quality was not amazing but like clockwork, the right speaker quit after 6 months of light use. I thought other users with bad reviews had just had simply experienced luck but not I can safely say DO NOT BUY THESE!

Customer Reviews:
It works great.......2007-12-16
The headphone works great. Even without Noise Cancelling on, you would hear much better than regular headphones. It's very well constructed and it's one of the few earbuds you really feel comfortable with.
Smaller, less expensive -- good for commuting and keeping in your briefcase.......2007-12-11
I don't have the time (nor the money) to do side-by-side comparisons of all the over-ear, on-ear, and in-ear options. I just knew I needed something affordable to block out noise so I could be more productive on planes and trains.
These headphones do a great job of blocking the general roar of the commuter train -- it's amazing how much lower I can set the volume on my MP3 player with the noise cancellation option on. This has got to be good for my ears.
Don't expect these headphones to block all the noise like you might get with the uber-expensive (IMO) Bose models. On the other hand, you don't have to carry a separate briefcase for these, either. I also don't feel like my head's in a clamp with the in-ear design.
Added bonus: battery life is excellent!
decent noise cancelling, better than NC11.......2007-11-12
I have been using NC11 for 5 years
it has good noise cancelling effect, but there's a problem: it always falls off from my ear, no matter which silicone cup I use
this one is lighter on earpiece units, that don't fall off like NC11
the noise cancelling effect is decent, probably the best of the price range
but the mic unit picks up treble, which can pick up some sharp noise
other than that, it's the best for the price
As advertised.......2007-11-05
Product was new as advertised and came in original box. Delivery was also right on schedule.
Good, Good, Good........2007-10-15
Amazon should find some way to link the reviews / ratings for the different versions of this device (black, white, pink) instead of making us look them up separately.
Good sized; as it is not bulky like over-the-ear-phones and the electronics capsule is small.
Good value; as you will most likely not need to make payments on something that you may not need to use very frequently.
Good performance; as it blocks the overall noise level nearly as well as most hearing protection earplugs and cancels the annoying, low level background rumble that makes you tired and cranky. This product helps you play music, etc at a lower level and save your hearing. The only problem I had was the times my ears "popped" during ascending and descending, it seemed a little more painful, but that may have just been that I am an infrequent flier and my ears are kind of sensitive. It also comes with an airline headphone adapter that did not work too well for me -- I think it was the crummy, abused jack and system on the airplanes as it works well with my laptop.

very bad phones-- very bad !.......2007-12-03
The $50 price , which is $100 discount , should provide all one needs to know about this poor product. Bad fit make for uncomfortable wear and the hum introduced with the noise cancelling turned on is a joke. What noise canceling? It's noise making !! Do not buy this terribly designed unit at any price..........
Great Set for the Money.......2007-10-30
This is a great headphone set for the money. I especially like the airline adapter connection, the carrying case and the compact fold up.
Uncomfortable Headset.......2007-08-23
The sound and noise canceling aspects of the headphone are excellent as would be expected from a JBL product. But using the headphone for any length of time results in some discomfort around the ears and temples. I have a number of headsets that I use for silent keyboard practice and private listening of various audio media. All of these produce outstanding results and remain comfortable, even after extended periods of use. If JBL could make the unit more comfortable, I could rate this headphone as an excellent product.
everyone is crazy.......2007-08-17
These headphones sound almost as good as the bose if not better. The sound on these headphones are great and noise cancelling is unbelievable at $65.00 you can't beat the price. The only drawback is the control module very close to player so not much cord to maneuver, but if your careful you can pull the cord apart to give more room. As far as reviews your always going to find more negative than positive and this one is definately positive.
As far as comfort I like the on the ear better than over the ear. The over the ear always sounds like an echo to me but these headphones have great bass and treble compared to the other headphones out there. I bought these because my seinhauser's went out and didn't want to shell over a 100 bucks again and in my opinion these sound better.
Best Ear phones I have owned a big audio buff. Update: left side ear cover fell off ...returned.......2007-07-16
Update: I loved the earphones and miss the quality and sound blocking but one side (ear cover) fell off and could not be fixed. I returned them.
Great earphones bad design. If they could fix the design I would buy again.
Old comment:
I love the ear phones. The sound is good and has good depth. The noise canceling is very good as well. I used them while cutting the grass and was amazed how well the gas mower was muffled. I could hear well with my Zen mp3 player at 6 out of 10.
Great for summer nights with fans going. The white nose is just blocked. I don't know how but it is.
simply the sound is great and white noise cut way down.
