I really like the new iPod nano; the new shorter design, new colors and some new "feachers" (please ignore the spelling, that is not one my stronger areas.).

What I REALLY ticked me off though, was that you couldn't sync with another library. We have two computers and my dad synced HIS iPod on his computer (this was before i had mine, so i used his too. i put songs and such on there too. we also like the same basic music, so there was no problem there) there was no problem untill i got mine. To "name" the iPod mine, i had to start it up on a different computer. BUT i still wanted the songs on my father's computer, and the ones on his iPod, i had already purchased a few songs on iTunes and uploaded them onto my new iPod on a different library) BUT iTunes said i could only use ONE iTunes library, so i had to delete ALL the songs OFF my iPod and sync with my dad's library and REPERCHASE the songs on my FATHER'S computer.

so, unless you're a "techno-weenie" i doubt you can sync to libraries. (stupid apple...)

other than that, this is actually a great product.

While this is not my first MP3 player, it is my first iPod and first experience with Apple. After spending a decent portion of my Saturday morning downloading and installing iTunes and learning how to sync the music, I can say that I am pleased with the functionality of the application.

The sound sounds clear and there is good volume levels. The most suprising feature for me was how great the video looks!! iTunes also has a great collection of material to download, and I particulary like the FREE podcasts. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase, great price and fun product

This is a great choice for users who might not have alot of music or videos to store on their ipod. Its only 4GB which is like probably 1,000 songs or a little bit more and over 100 hrs of video. I mean, its good, but I own the ipod Touch and i love that, i just got this for my girlfriend and she doesn't listen to no damn 16GB worth of music so i got her this. Im not cheap, but it doesn make sense though. Why get a 16GB ipod, especially a touch and don't really use it to the fullest.But she loves is and i figure you would too if you don't need higher storage (GB).

Design
With a total weight of 5.1 ounces and slim measurements of 3.87 x 2.91 x 0.87 inches (WxHxD), the nüvi 350 is just right for the pocket or purse. A bright, 64,000-color display dominates the front of the device and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels means that there's plenty of room for displaying map data and other elements of the device's interface. An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides (see below). The flip-up antenna includes an MCX-type connector for connecting the unit to an external GPS antenna. Meanwhile, a powerful built-in speaker resides on the back of device. A built-in lithium ion battery will give you for to eight hours of battery life, depending on use. In addition to an AC charger, the unit also ships with a 12-volt power adapter for vehicle charging, as well as a windshield suction cup mount.

Fortunately, Garmin has made it easy to interface with the nüvi 350's 700 megabytes of onboard memory, thanks to "plug-and-play" USB mass storage support. Just plug the device into your computer's USB port and you've got instantaneous access to all the audio books, music, photos, supplemental maps and other data on the nüvi 350's internal and SD card memory.

Navigation
The nüvi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Wherever you go -- in your car or on foot-- the device offers extremely accurate position data, thanks to a high-sensitivity integrated GPS receiver by SiRF and WAAS-enabled, 12-satellite reception. Combined with detailed maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico the nüvi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and touchscreen control-- making it easy to find your way anywhere. Plus, the unique "text-to-speech" feature calls out turns by street name, and you can choose from either 2D or 3D mapping perspectives when you're viewing your route on the display. Additionally, the nüvi 350 is compatible with Garmin's GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver*, which allows users to avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button that will calculate a new route.

As mentioned, the nüvi 350 comes packed with mapping data for North America, but you can can also load up your custom points of interest. Set up proximity alerts for school zones, safety cameras, and more using Garmin's free POI (points of interest) loader program (available from garmin.com).

The device automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way.

Tools for the Journey
Navigation is just part of the journey, and the nüvi 350 is one of the first devices to recognize that. The built-in "Travel Kit" offers an MP3 player, an audio book player from Audible.com, a jpeg-format picture viewer, a world travel clock with time zones, a currency converter, a measurement converter, and a calculator.

In addition to the included travel tools, additional software add-ons are available, such as the Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. Now you can look up and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language -- right in the palm of your hand. Through the unit's text-to-speech interface, users can get a spoken pronunciation of each entry in the word bank, along with gender and part of speech information.

Another useful add-on software package, the Garmin Travel Guide, is loaded with information provided by Marco Polo. These guides put in-depth travel information such as reviews and recommendations for restaurants, tourist attractions, and more at your fingertips. The software allows you to navigate to an address or search points of interest-- places like hotels, restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. The nüvi 350 automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. The unit also audibly announces the name of upcoming streets-- letting you keep your eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways. And if you stray off course, the nüvi 350 automatically calculates the quickest way to get back on track.

Garmin Nuvi 350.......2008-01-01

I love the Garmin Nuvi 350. I am going to be doing a lot of traveling and it makes it so easy. You just program in where you want to go and the voice activation tells you step by step how to get there. You don't even have to look at it once it is programmed, just drive with confidence. And if you happen to turn a different way it immediately relocates and gives new directions. The touch screen is terrific.

Just got my Garmin for Christmas. Haven't used it a lot, but the one trip I made with it the unit worked very nicely. It comes on and tells you the street to turn on about 0.2 mile from the turn and then again at the turn. Easy to use and understand.

From the point of view of a person who has little need to be a "power user" of GPS gear, the Garmin has still been an invaluable tool for its core purpose. No longer will my wife and I rely on my own so-called strong direction sense, even in Europe!

Indeed, it is easy to use, portable for even hikes, and looking up local businesses in unfamiliar areas has been worth its weight in gold. All the other whistles and bells haven't even been touched outside of this core functionality, but it truly is a tremendous product for your average user.

The small screen may be tough on some of you folks in the 50+ age bracket, so be wary there, and the average volume of directions aloud does not exceed volume of music often. Those are just cautions, have no fear, you cannot go wrong with Garmin to date.

It is the best, slim and elegant, and really light. You can save thousands of songs, audiobooks, videos and photos inside it. I carry it around in my pocket or hang it around my neck at the gym and the sound is fantastic.
Its screen is impossible to scratch. I recommend it, its cost is reasonable and the it is a really good inversion. Buy a case to protect it and enjoy it!

The features of this Nano are what intrigued me. However, upon receiving the product, one can notice it is just much, much too small. May be appropriate for a college student, but not a professional business man.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband, he took one look at it and said, are you kidding me... and started laughing.

We have opted to return the Nano 8 G in favor of purchasing the IPOD Classic 160 G. A bit more substaial in size & capabilities.

A great little piece of equipment.......2008-01-01

After several MP3 players, I have finally grown frustrated with Microsoft's kinks with their Media Player software and the incessant troubleshooting of their poorly managed DRM music files. After experimenting with the iTunes software, I headed over to my local Apple store to play with their iPods. I considered both the Nano and the Classic. While my entire music collection is over 8 gb (plus video content), I decided to go with the Nano simply because of it's tiny size, and the ease of slipping it in my pocket while exercising or traveling.

Style: The Nano is really small and tops on my list in terms of looks, the slick case contains the iPod trademark stainless steel back (which is nearly impossible to keep clean), and the wheel. The wheel is a good bit smaller than the Classic, and while it took some getting used to, I think it was quite easy to master. The screen is small, but the new "squatty" styling of the Nano permits a larger screen than the previous generation Nano. The screen is slightly recessed from the case, and it has begun to collect some dust around the edges.

Interface: The distinctive wheel on the iPod makes navigating the menus quite easy. The menus are very intuitive, and begin with music, podcasts, video, etc, then within the Music category you can play by artist, playlist, etc. I don't really find what all the fuss about this album view thing is, while it is useful on a touch screen device like the Touch or the iPhone, it is pointless on the Nano or Classic. You can only sync this device using Apple's proprietary iTunes software, there are many options which enable you to restrict what gets transferred to the iPod by rating, genre, playlists, or even only checked items - this is very useful if your collection exceeds the capacity of the iPod.

Music: I can sync it with only my favorite songs (using the rating system within iTunes), and while. Equalizer customization is very limited, but the factory defaults are set very good, sound comes out full and rich (at least as good as a flash MP3 player can). The Nano came with the distinctive white earbuds and they are ok, but I am using some sound isolating SONY earbuds which provide excellent sound from this Nano.

Video: The screen resolution is incredibly crisp and bright - it's amazing really. I initially thought the idea of watching a video on this 2" screen was ludicrous, it is not as bad as it seems assuming you are picking up a 30 minute or shorter video podcast or something - I still don't think I could subject my eyes to a 2 hour movie on this thing though.

All-in-all, this device meets or exceeds my expectations by providing a lot of features in a very small package at a reasonable cost. 8GB of storage is adequate for most folks, and the video functions that Apple includes in this are a nice addition. There is still some room for Apple to improve the sound quality and customization options, and I wish they would include a set of earbuds that not only looked cool, but also sounded good.

The sound and wonder of this little ipod blows my mind. I love it. And can't wait to download more things on it. The picture clearity is awsome.

I love this camera!.......2007-12-31

This camera is great! My only complaint thus far is the video quality when you have to do a compact version. You have to have it in that format to upload it to youtube etc. or it will be too large of a file, then it loses some of it's quality and I don't like the fact that if you don't zoom in the first few seconds, you can't at all. (for video mode) Other than that, this camera is exceptional. The photos are crisp, give a plethora of options for lighting etc. and I am extremely pleased! It is a great camera for a beginner or someone more experienced, but just wants a fairly simply camera that will get the job done and then some. This camera actually has taken better photos than some of the more expensive ones I've had the pleasure of using in the past. Great product!
