The Belkin Laptop Cooling Stand prevents your laptop from overheating. The unique patented wave design uses natural convection to enhance fan cooling. This stand has low power consumption via your laptop's USB port with no bulky power adapters.
Amazon.com Product Description
If you own a laptop, you know all about heat. Because today's notebooks rely on fast processors to do the job, they generate a lot of heat, with much of it landing directly in your lap. Some laptops can have a "normal" operating temperature as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit! Not only is that unsafe and uncomfortable, it can also wear your laptop down, cause it to crash unexpectedly, and reduce its overall life expectancy.
The Belkin Laptop Cooling Stand is designed to cradle your laptop in cooling comfort.
|
Now you can be more comfortable while you work.

Belkin's Laptop Cooling Stand relies on a patented wave design and ergonomic features that will not only help protect your laptop by keeping it cool, but will also increase your comfort while you work. As part of Belkin's laptop@home line of accessories, the Laptop Cooling Stand is designed to help you to take full advantage of the benefits your laptop has to offer-- comfortably, economically, and stylistically.
Twice the Cooling Power, Half the Consumption
In contrast to most other laptop coolers that use two fans to suck warm air from the laptop's bottom, the Belkin's Laptop Cooling Stand relies on the natural flow of heat and air circulation to do the hard work and needs only one fan to do the trick. Instead of drawing the laptop heat down to push it out, the stand takes full advantage of natural air flow and heat's natural tendency to rise by pushing the hot air upward through the channel and away from your laptop.
The single high-capacity fan, powered by a USB port on your laptop, sits in the middle of the cooling stand, and hot air is channeled out to the left and right sides of your laptop. The result is heat dissipation that's equal to a two-fan solution but that uses less than half the power. And because the fan is USB-powered, you won't have any bulky batteries or adapters (which can also both add heat!) to weigh you down. You simply place your laptop on the stand, pull the USB cable out of the convenient storage compartment, and plug it into your computer. The stand will take care of the rest.
Computing in Comfort and Style
Measuring 12.6 x 11.6 x 1 inches (W x D x H), the Belkin Laptop Cooling Stand is designed for 15.4-inch or smaller laptops. To prevent slippage, the stand features rubber pads on the feet, and a small plastic panel folds out from the bottom of the stand that elevates the rear for better ergonomics. The gentle slope reduces wrist strain, and by raising the screen height, it also reduces neck strain that is common to laptop users.
Unlike the industrial gray and metallic appearance of other cooling stands, the Belkin Laptop Cooling Stand offers an attractive, gently sloped look that you'll be proud to show off as you work. The stand's thin profile means that you can easily slide the stand into your notebook bag as you travel from meeting to meeting, or café to café. And weighing a mere 22 ounces, you'll hardly notice that it's in your bag.

love it.......2008-01-01
I love this cooling fan. It's the best laptop accessory I've purchased in a long time. Works great, looks good, and it was an exceptional price.
Nice but noisy.......2007-12-30
The stand is nice but the fan is very cheap. Fan bearings went out within the first month. Stand now makes loud buzzing noise and doesn't move much air.
Piece of JUNK! Do Not purchase.......2007-12-30
I bought this piece of trash thinking it would keep the laptop cool so that my son could play on the laptop without the worry of overheating it. On the tenth day after purchase, and even less days of being used the fan died on the tenth day.I will Never recommend another Belkin item.
Perfect Fit.......2007-12-27
This cooler is a perfect fit for my 14.1" Dell Inspiron notebook. The fan in the cooler is not in the optimum spot of where my notebook gets warmest, but with a little manipulation, the fan is able to keep the computer cool. The stand also works well to keep your lap cool and provides a good platform.
An Excellent Cooling Stand.......2007-12-24
I have had the Belkin laptop cooling pad for a few weeks and I love it. I use it with my Macbook and it makes a very big difference. Before purchasing this I had trouble working with the Macbook on my lap because it just got too hot. The Belkin cooling stand has a nice curved design that creates a small pocket under the computer where the air flows nicely. The cord is nice and short too, so it doesn't get in the way. I does cost a few dollars more than the Targus but I tried that one first and was disappointed. It simply stopped working after a few weeks even though I never dropped it or anything. I have already dropped the Belkin twice and it still works great. The Belkin is a great deal.

Not bad, although gave it away.......2007-12-24
This item is OK. I ordered two cooling fans; one for myself (this one) and the Belkin one for my son (Little bit more money - although worth it)
I wanted to see for myself the difference, both came with good reviews.
Both are nice and work well, only the Belkin one is a better FANning system. It produces more air and a better air flow.
I gave my item away and have since ordered the Belkin for myself as well.
It depends how much cooling you need / how often you use your computer...
It's nice and does produce air... I just felt it wasn't enough air and the air flow was direct and really pushing hot air out of my unit.
Thank you.
Works Perfectly!.......2007-12-18
This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. My laptop is so happy staying nice and cool even on those long usage days.
Keeps your lap cool.......2007-12-10
I bought this because my lap would get uncomfortably warm after using the computer for a while. This cooling pad solved the problem. It works, but don't expect too much. It has three fans in a plastic case that suck air out from under your laptop and exausts it away from you. It's sized for a 15 inch computer, and while it works for a 17 inch the fit is off. It's quite, I don't notice the sound. The computer runs much cooler now.
No More Hot Thighs.......2007-11-08
Didn't expect it to work for my 17 inch laptop. But was pleasantly surprised to find that heat generation was greatly reduced.
it's okay.......2007-11-03
The fans doesn't have too much speed, even with three, my laptop still gets hot. Try to look for another one with less fans, or bigger fans or faster fans. The 2 stars are just for the design and low noise.

Not always quiet..........2007-11-27
This laptop cooler does what it is supposed to do...keep the unit cool. About 80 percent of the time it's virtually silent, however for some reason it occasionally begins to buzz as if the fan motors have bad bearings but then it goes quiet again. It's a little irritating when it happens and I was considering returning it but I've gotten used to it and will probably just see where it goes. I use it with a 15" laptop so it's not a weight issue or at least I don't think it is. Also it has no provision to tilt so the laptop is raised off the desk surface by about an inch but I'm not a touch typist so it's not a problem for me however you may want to keep this in mind if you are.
Does the job.......2007-11-25
Considering the price and size, this is a great gadget. The only power source you need for it is a USB hookup to your laptop, so make sure you have a USB port to spare. My Toshiba laptop was constantly freezing due to overheating (apparently a common problem in Toshibas), and my friend suggested I get this. I've only had the freezing problem once since using this product.
Cheap wire connection...otherwise good........2007-11-05
The cooling pad works fine and is very silent. However, the USB power cord supplied is cheap and the internal contacts failed, rendering the pad useless. I replaced the USB power supply cable with another brand and now its working fine.
notebook/laptop cooler.......2007-10-28
ordered a laptop cooler and was not the one I ordered. I ordered a 15" and got 11". I did not send it back because of all the trouble sending it back.
Works well for the price.......2007-10-25
I recently bought a 17" Gateway laptop and realized that it got way too hot to use on my lap. This cooling pad works well for the price, but there is one flaw. I guess because my laptop is 17" the weight of it causes it to hit the fans every now and then. It doen't cause any damage and still works perfectly fine, it's just annoying to have to reposition the laptop so it doesn't make noise from hitting the fans. Other than that it works well and is very quite. If I had a 14" or 15" laptop I would definately recommend this cooling pad. 17" laptop I would look around a little bit, but if you can't find anything thats close in cost this cooling pad works fine.

Customer Reviews:
This is all you need....................2007-10-22
This is the least expensive solution to the problem of having your lap superheated by your notebook computer. Forget the idea of using fans powered by a USB port to cool your computer. This device accomplishes the task by simply creating space between the computer and the supporting platform. The 3 inclining positions permit air to pass under the computer thus allowing the heat to dissipate. The platform even swivels.
Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.
After using this product, my sperm count has returned to normal levels.
good for small laptops.......2007-09-12
I have a very small Sony laptop that this is just perfect for. I also have a larger laptop that is top-heavy on this - wouldn't recommend it for a very large laptop... under 15" would probably all work.
can't use it on lap.......2007-07-05
can't use it on lap, does work to reduce heat very welll, does not swivel but the description never said that it would but would be nice for desktop
Ok, but not very secure.......2007-05-23
I ordered this hoping that it would be great. It's ok but not quite what I was hoping for. The lip on it is pointless for me since if I set my open 17" HP correctly in it on a flat surface, the laptop becomes too top-heavy and falls backward (luckily I caught it before it fell completely over). It doesn't do this of course if the laptop is shut, but then what's the point?
This pad seems to work best if I set my laptop on TOP of the lip in a rather centered position but I am still a little untrusting of it. This seems to work best if I use it on the bed or my lap (possibly since then it's on a more forgiving surface) but as far as using it on a flat surface as an elevated "docking" type station, if you have a large laptop like mine, forget it.
The lip makes the difference.......2007-01-15
This is my second cooling pad and it is now my favorite. The other one I bought does not have the lower lip which holds the laptop in place so it always jiggles a little bit as I type. This one keeps the laptop snuggly in place so there is a more solid feel to it. It accomodates my large 17" notebook too.

Customer Reviews:
Not as mini as I expected.......2007-01-12
"Mini" is an overstatement. Looks to be about 10-20% smaller than a typical desk mouse. I was looking for something smaller for travel.
Tracks well on almost anything.......2005-12-30
I love this mouse. I had the shorter cord one (perfect for notebooks). It would track on almost any surface, reflective, blankets, carpets, pants, whatever. It tracks much better than my Dell optical mouse. After a couple of years using it as a portable mouse it started acting strange. A single call to Belkin got me a new one, no problem. The new one has the longer cord, which is a little bulky for the notebook, but I guess satisfied some desktop users. A great little mouse, I love it!
Excellent (for a while).......2005-06-04
As my title says, this mouse is great until you've been using it quite a while.
When I bought my laptop, I immediately went out to find an inexpensive, portable optical mouse that would replace the touch-pad (which I don't like). I found the Belkin Miniscroller for under twenty dollars and bought it. It has been a joy for the seven or eight months I've owned it until a few weeks ago when it started acting up.
On good days, it'll work like it always has, but on other days (like today) it will stop working and the optical light will turn off. I disconnect and re-connect numerous times and the only thing that fixes it is a restart. On other days, it won't work at all, no matter what I do, and yet on other days, it will stop working, then I unplug it and plug it back in, and it works. It's really hit-or-miss; I never know what it'll do each day. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, downloading new updated drivers, and nothing has worked.
It's a fantastic little mouse, a good size for traveling but still not too small for big hands (like my huge hands), good cord length (about 4 feet), and great responsiveness on-screen... BUT, after a few months of normal use (I stress NORMAL, because I did not abuse it in any way) it may or may not start to act up and give you a lot of frustration.
But then again, it's so inexpensive you might as well buy two or three and have some back-ups in case this happens to you!
Great Mouse - While it lasted........2004-07-06
I have to say that this mouse is very well designed for laptop users. It was a great mouse, and, you can read the other reviews to find out how.
I bought this mouse when I bought my Toshiba Laptop for use in school. The mouse worked great:
*Instantly recognized when plugged in.
*Small size perfect for portable use.
*Etc Etc.
The problems started after about 8 months of constant use, being carried from class to class, being unplugged and plugged several times everyday. It worked great untill the cord got a short in it. The mouse started to stop working if you moved the cord close to the USB connector. I fixed this by cutting off about a foot of the cord and the USB connector, and connecting another one. This seemed to solve the problem, but now, after exactly a year of using the mouse, the laser light on it is turning on and off for no apparent reason, and I am afraid I am now shopping for a new mouse.
Therefore I conclude that while this mouse is great for laptops, in is not durabble enough to be called truelly portable. It cannot stand up to the use that a mobile laptop user would give it. However, I have to be fair and mention that the plug on my power supply eventually came off after being plugged and unplugged so often, so this mouse is not the only non-durable laptop item.
Mini my foot!.......2004-04-21
Not a true "mini" mouse. It is about as bulky and cumbersome as the cheapy mouse that comes with bundled PC packages. Not at all suitable for small hands (or people with a hand disability) as it so claims. It may have fared better had Belkin omitted the word "mini" from its name. A hassle downloading drivers which were not easy to find on Belkin's site. Also, there was no USB-to-PS/2 adapter in the package; you'd have to call the vendor and special-request it which they ship to you standard. They don't expedite.

Cool, Cooling Pad.......2007-05-12
It is so nice to have a cooling pad for my laptop that works! The last one I had was a plug in the wall type and this one, plugging right into the laptop makes things alot simpler. It cools well and keeps my laptop running alot smoother than my last cooling pad. The colored lights on the front help to remind me to shut it off when not in use!

Mixed feelings, first impressions.......2006-09-13
So, I just received it and plugged it in. I'm on my laptop right now, it's on my lap. First impression was "How cheap and flimsy feeling it is". I thought it was 2 lbs from reading the description, I would expect some metal or something but it's completely plastic. I plugged it in and have it running. The LEDs in the front are uncesseary and just a distraction. A complete waste of space (there's an OFF switch). The two fans produce a low buzz but it's not loud at all. I didn't get any instructions...so I have nothing to say much about the options. It has 2 USB ports on the side of this HUB. I have a 14" widescreen and my laptop comes out the sides about .25 to .15", not that much...it's not of any problem. There's a fan switch, so i guess at night you can turn them off if you want. I was primarily looking for a 'heat shield' so that I can use it on my lap. It works ok I guess, my laptop hasn't heated up to it's max but so far it's comfortable. There is a higher noticeable, but not uncomfortable, temperature on the left (i'm guessing it's from the USB powering the HUB. Another thing I noticed is that you can put your finger on the bottom of the fan by accident when lifting the unit. The grill of the fans isn't that safe I guess, but it won't chop your finger off.
