Works great. A bit loud.......2007-07-28
I like this cooler/fan because it has screw on attachment rather than thos plastic pins you have to turn. This makes for a strong connection to the CPU and motherboard. Don't screw to tight, though- you don't want to crack it. It comes with a bit of thermal paste on the bottom of the fan (be careful not to touch it). I installed it on a Pentium D 805 2.66 MHz CPU. Those are the Core Duos, not the newer Core 2 Duos that run cooler by design. My idle CPU temp is about 41 degrees Celsius. I've used it to do some video editing/encoding in Sony Vegas. I think it went up to 53 degrees or at the most 57.
This cooler is a bit loud. That type of thing doesn't bother me. Because it is a four pin fan, my motherboard's sensor can control it. For example, it can shut the fan down if it stays below a certain temperature. In my mobo's BIOS I changed the setting to shut the fan off after 4 minutes into the OS startup. That worked for only 2 restart cycles. Now it stays on for a bit longer. However, I'm chalking that problem up to the operating system (Windows XP) and/or the motherboard (MSI 945 Platinum).

very cool.......2007-09-24
This fan keeps my system very cool. My dual core cpu was overheating a bit until I got this fan.
Not so good........2007-08-17
The deal was average but when I got the heatpipe I couldn't install the fan because the fan wasn't built for my motherboard. There was a lack of information about the product. So I now have an expensive heatsink laying on my desktop cause I can't use it even when the description said it was for my motherboard too.
Excellent performance.......2007-06-13
Excellent performance, I LOOOVE it, it is damn quite, unlike the volcano 12 it was like if my mother was using the hair dryer in the back of my desk.
quiet and good performance nothing more to say, yes it is that good.
Great Performance, Possibly Difficult Installation.......2007-05-08
I purchased this cooler for a Core2Duo CPU, and it works just fine. I was impressed with the cooling ability; it's currently cooling the CPU to 29 degrees Celsius at idle, haven't tested at full load just yet.
I will warn any users that they may have a hard time installing this beast. I installed this on an EVGA 680i board, and inserted into an Antec 900 case. This procedure was very difficult, much more so than typical heatsink installs.
You are forced to install the heatsink before mounting the motherboard into the case. By installing it this way, the sheer size of the heatsink blocks access to one of the motherboard mounting screws (the one behind the PS/2 ports). In addition, the height of this cooler when mounted leaves less than an inch of clearance between the heatsink fan and the side of the case. It does not seem to affect the CPU cooling, but it might cause problems with the overall case airflow. I have not had enough time to test this fully.
Aside from these minor faults, this product appears to be well worth the purchase.
BIG IS GOOD.......2007-02-27
i used this fan on a FX 55 chip, and it works perfectly cool, quite but big, i have a thermaltake Damier tower, a bit bigger then the full ATX size, the fan fits right in with lots of clearance, but i think it might be tight on a smaller case, specially with the cases that has the power supply on top, other than that, the cooler is the right choice for overclocking a hot chip..

The Best & Coolest, Literally, CPU Cooler I Have Used!.......2007-12-04
I initially got the non-LED version, due to a mix up with the listed information Amazon had which was different than what XPCgear had listed. It was all cleared up right away without me having to pay shipping cost back to XPCgear, so that's all good. They were very quick, & there customer service was awesome way better than other online retailers I have dealt with before. Hats off to them! Now about the Tuniq Tower-120, the bottom line is that it has kept my Intel E6400 CPU cooler than all other fan/heatsink types I have used before... Zalman, Scythe(I borrowed from a friend after my Zalman died), & Thermaltake. I paid more for both my Zalman & my Thermaltake. I read a few good reviews about the Tuniq Tower 120 elsewhere, on the egg, for $20 more there. I tried it and bought it here. Now my E6400 runs at a max of 47C under full load after running Orthos stress test for over 38hrs on a 3.2GHz OC. Normal operating conditions are running 28C and ambient temps are 23C. I didn't use Tuniq's heatsink paste though, I only use Artic Silver5 as recommended by everyone. I honestly don't know if it makes that big a difference, but the white stuff doesn't seem to work as well with previous use. The fan controller is nice to have. Yes, this puppy mounts fine in a mid-tower case; there is 1-2 inches between the top of the tower & my Plexiglases. It also mounts fine on the Asus Maximus Formula & The Striker Extreme with no issues or mods just in case you were wondering.
Mounting on a Socket 775 was a breeze. Be sure to mount the backing/mounting plate to the underside of the board before mounting your board on the tray or in the case when installing the heatsink. My mobo was already out after doing some case modifications, which may attribute to it being a cake walk to install. The Tuniq Tower 120 also comes with mounting/adapter plates to fit most other processors, which is nice if you ever switch platforms. Overall it is great value for price; fan in this tower runs quieter than my Antec Case Fans, even at full throttle; runs way cooler, 10-12 degrees cooler than the previous CPU coolers I have used; 5 stars all the way, no reason to cavil about this CPU cooler at all. Buy it, you will happy you did! You can read an actual review from a product site here if you like: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/tuniq-tower120.html

big cool ... no clear instructions.......2007-09-29
this cpu cooler its BIG... I had to completly remove everything because
it requires to put a piece underneath the mother board.
another thing is that it said to have a 4 pin power conector but the unit that I received had a 3 pin connector (thank god I had a free 3 pin) available connector on the mother board and it was close enough.
I dont think it really cool like the original cooler... but I had to change that one because it was somehow getting loose. The fact that this one has that extra piece that goes under the mother board really secures this unit (and thats some piece of mind) for me.
because of its size you need to make sure that it can fit on your case and board
beyond expectation.......2007-04-02
I figured that in spending so little on a CPU fan that i'd get what i paid for. This is not the case. I installed this fan in a HTPC where airflow is limited, and it dropped the processor temp 10degrees C during normal load and about 7 degrees C during Video games, DVD watching, and various other processor-intensive applications. Bargain buy here!
P.S. Thanks to other reviews, knowing that the processor bolts on from behind, installation took me all of five minutes, which was mainly taken up from removing thermal paste from the processor and cleaning. The screwed installation is much more secure than the expansion bolts that are utilized on the stock fan.
Works very well.......2006-02-25
This was a replacement for the Intel standard fan. It was actually more quiet and much nicer with better air flow. The only drawback with this fan is with its installation. If this is a replacement fan, the whole board needs to be unscrewed because the holding piece of this fan is bolted behind the board. Not quite obvious from the instruction with the package. I had to go to their web site to make sure about this.
.............2005-10-23
cooler perform okay if you do not stress out cpu (3.8 Ghz), if you do cpu temp. ran as high as 63 C within minutes...
