Mistaken identity?.......2006-08-21
I ordered this memory chip from among several listed as being for NOTEBOOK PC's(My PC being a Compaq Presario notebook). Upon reception, it was obviously for a desktop PC. I called the toll-free number for TigerDirect and it was confirmed that it WAS for a desktop, and was given a "Return Authorization" code number for a refund. I was also told, with regrets, that they had no chips for my notebook in stock.
I received notification of my refund and a credit to my credit card fairly promptly. However, I still have no chip and am "out" my time and money spent for "Shipping and Handling" and postage to return the item.
I'm not angry as I know these things happen in the best of worlds, but I probably wil try to get the chip at Best Buy or similar source.

Great DDR memory upgrade for Compaq 7110 Presarios.......2007-04-29
First, I was glad to see a memory product meant for my Compaq Presario 7110, since it probably means less hassle than if I ordered the standard DDR memory. Simpletech made it easy to install the DDR memory upgrade with easy one page instructions. I added a second 256 MB DDR DIMM memory to my Compaq computer and it worked after I installed it and booted my computer.
The only minor problem was making sure the DIMM card fit snugly into the socket. The socket mfr has two cips on both ends, so when the DIMM card is fully seated, then the cips will lock in place. I thought I had both clips locked in, but a closer examination revealed otherwise. I just pushed slightly harder on one end of the DIMM card until the remaining clip locked in place. After I turned the computer on, the BIOS and Windows xp software acknowledged the addtional RAM memory and ready to go.
Bottom line is Simpletech made it easy to add more memory. I've added more RAM before on previous desktop computers, which is nice as it sure speeds up computer processing time with multiple programs running.
