Customer Reviews:
May be the Worst Option for a Wirless Mouse.......2007-11-13
Bought this product a month ago and has become a very dissapointing experience. Here some of my reasons:
(1) This mouse is said to be ergonomic, but it just doesn't feel comfortable;
(2) The optical sensor isn't accurate;
(3) Although being within range, the signal is poor.
(4) It's supposed to be wireless, but it has a receiving device plugged to the usb port through a 50cm cord.
Definetely this may be one of the worst option for buying a wireless mouse and very dissapointing considering that is a Microsoft product.
Scroll wheel issue.......2007-09-12
Like other reviewers, I have a problem with the scroll wheel. In my case, it wobbles back & forth a bit, enough to make the page jump sometimes, or if I'm middle clicking, or scrolling to the top of a page. This one was packaged with the keyboard I wanted, but I'll either have to go back to my wired mouse or buy a better one. I'd hate to have to find the box to take everything back to Staples, and Microshift wants $35 dollars just to look at an email about it! I wonder if Logitech's mouse will work with the same receiver. Probably not. Oy!
Unresponsive.......2007-07-08
The mouse becomes unresponsive for a about 30 seconds a few times a day. This is so frustrating that I'm back with my wired one.
And, as mentioned by others, the scroll wheel terrible.
This is a review coming from someone who got this mouse for free (brand new). Even as a freebie it's no good.
This mouse is a dog!.......2007-05-31
Good design.
My optical mouse 2.0 will connect to the ps2 port with a usb to ps2 adapter. Not this one. You must connect it to a usb port. The instructions don't say that. The instructions don't say much at all. And they shouldn't. Installing a mouse should take more the the time it takes to connect it. You shouldn't have to search the web for help. How long should I press the buttons on the receiver and mouse. What am I looking for. The 2000 receive has no light like the 2.0. Anyway, I finally got the thing to work and I hate it. Like many other reviewer, I agree the the wheel isnt' as smooth or reactive as it should be. Microsoft is very impressed with themselves that they've include 6+ month batteries. It's on the box at least 6 times. To you and me, that 2 Engergizer AA's. WOW!.
The mouse does work but not as well as 100 others in the same price range. Shop around.
terrible scroll wheel.......2007-05-25
If you use (or want to use) the scroll wheel, don't buy this mouse.
The general shape and design is good. Reasonably comfortable and usable for left and right handers.
The signal range is poor. If I put the receiver on the other side of my small desk, movement is erratic. You really need to have it within a foot or two.
The scroll wheel is terrible. You feel a click every time you scroll the wheel up or down, but every third or forth click isn't registered on the computer. Using the scroll wheel as a middle mouse button is also terrible. When I try to use it to middle click on a link inside my web browser to open the page in a new tab, it sometimes scrolls the page up or down instead of registering the click. I don't have this problem with other mice, so I suspect it's related to the problem with the scrolling.
Many others here have the same problems. I can't recommend this mouse.

Customer Reviews:
No problems - works well - cheaper than other wireless keyboards.......2007-10-13
I'm finding that the keyboard and mouse work very well. The keyboard has just enough spring and the mouse generally tracks accurately. I have found that when I'm typing extremely fast that it will miss a keystroke every now and then but otherwise I've had no problems. It's nice not to have wires cluttering my desk.
A+ Certified PC Repair Technician: This Product Sux.......2007-05-01
I'm a PC repair technician with a plus certification among many other certs and I have the worst time getting this device to work. Please be aware of this product and don't waste your time or hair.
I will never buy microsoft hardware again!!.......2005-05-19
I should have listented to the reviews about how the mouse locked up. In my case, the mouse stopped working less than 24 hours after I received the item. [...]
Locks up without reason, poor mouse design.......2005-01-10
I've had this product for not quite a week and I'm sending it back. Numerous times the mouse and keyboard have suddenly lost reception and stop working; trying to reconnect doesn't work. The tracking for an optical mouse is terrible and the design is uncomfortable. Sorry Microsoft...stick to software.
Great product!.......2004-12-15
This is a great wireless keyboard and mouse. It elimates all the wiring. It's comfortable and very affordable. I haven't had any problems since I purchased it. I definitley recommend this product.
