Customer Reviews:
Very practical!.......2007-12-31
This was a X-mas gift for my husband. I was a little reluctant to buy it after reading some of the reviews since my husband has big hands. He carries his laptop in a bag and a larger mouse would have been inconvenient and too bulky. The small USB can be left attached permanently to a port and the size of the mouse turned out to be its best asset. After installing and customizing it to his needs, he had absolutely no problem adjusting to navigating with it. This one's a keeper!!!
Best Mouse I've Ever Owned!.......2007-12-29
I bought this mouse for my brother-in-law for Christmas. He loves it. I own two myself, and have had them for several months. I work for a computer software company and spend about 70% of my waking hours on a computer. I have two laptops. I bought one of these for the first laptop and liked it so much I bought anpther one for the second laptop.
Pros:
1. The tiny dongle is GREAT! I travel A LOT. I constantly am packing my laptop up and now I never have to remove a USB attachment to do so. That alone makes it worth every penny.
2. Compact design isn't as bulky as other mice I have had.
3. Runs on a single AAA battery that after 4 months of constant use has not needed replacing.
4. Has a power switch to conserve that battery.
5. Has a double optical sensor that reacts perfectly. This mouse works on every surface I put it on. Past optical mice have had issues on certain shiny surfaces, but this one seems to handle everything just fine so far.
6. The scroll wheel has two settings, a clicking spin and a free spin. The free spin zips right through long web pages and huge documents.
Cons:
1. None that I have noticed yet, and by now I should have.
Maybe someone could gripe about the price, but there are more expensive mice on the market that I have tried and not liked. And again, the small dongle is such a huge convenience for someone that travels that I would pay more for this mouse if I had to.
I can't imagine anyone not loving this mouse.
Great little mouse.......2007-12-29
Logitech strikes a good balance of form and function - I found the mouse a little small for my hand at first, but I reminded myself that its that way for a reason and I've adjusted! Love the free scroll wheel (for quickly getting thru a deep email inbox) and the ability to scroll horizontally - I work in IT and frequently review large visio diagrams, its awsome for that.
Amazing reciver, OK mouse.......2007-12-27
I would like to preface this with saying the reason I bought this mouse was because of the size of the receiver. In that regard, it succeeds quite well. The receiver is small and unobtrusive, but for $55 it better be.
That being said, I have two major problems with this mouse: The scroll wheel and the navigation buttons. The former is sloppy and does not contain a middle click. Instead, clicking the scroll wheel will change it from smooth scroll to ratched, which is neat. However, for anyone who uses tabbed browsing, cad programs, photoshop, or many other applications that the use of a middle click is ever so wonderful, then mapping the button just below to scroll wheel to middle click is, needless to say, a must and takes some getting used to.
The navigation buttons are just in a dumb, inconvenient spot.
Mouse size is about what I would expect for a laptop mouse and the side scroll is unobtrusive, which is nice.
Very nice wireless mouse.......2007-12-27
I'm using on a Intel MacBook and it works beautifully. The USB receiver is tiny and can be left connected during transportation. The mouse and scroll wheel have a nice "solid" feel. I programmed the 2 left buttons to enlarge and decrease the display (a nice feature for older eyes). I have come to appreciate the quality of Logitech products (I use several).

Amazon.com Review
Mice have come a long way since the early days of the Macintosh, with its innovative roller-balled brick. Fast forward 22 years and meet the Logitech MX Revolution. With innovative scrolling technology, rechargeable batteries, and improvements that make it easier to do common tasks, the MX Revolution is definitely a big step in the right direction. Whether or not this mouse is a revolution is up for debate, as it doesn't completely change the way we interact with our computers like the Macintosh mouse did, but it's clearly an important step in the evolution of one mankind's most indispensable tools.
Feels good in the hand, and the intelligent scroll wheel is a revelation.
|
Just remember to turn it off. This baby is a power gulper, not a sipper.
|
The mouse feels great in small and large hands
|
Ergonomics and Design
The first thing you'll notice about the MX Revolution is the distinct shape, which is very reminiscent of a cresting wave. Fortunately, the design does more than look good. The mouse feels great in small and large hands, and the curved channel--which accommodates the thumb nicely--makes it easy to use the document "Quick Flip" dial on the side of the mouse. Above the Quick Flip control you'll find a pair of thin, customizable buttons that by default operate as forward and back controls for Web pages.
The top of the mouse houses Logitech's tour de force, the MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel, which dynamically controls the speed and resistance of your scrolling tasks. Side scrolling and a scroll wheel-based button press are also supported. Just behind the scroll wheel sits the quick search button, which pops you into the search engine of your choice.
The "Quick-Flip" thumb wheel makes it easy to quickly switch between active windows.
|
All in all, it's a surprisingly simple layout for a device that offers a great deal of functionality. Lefties beware, though. You'll find it awkward to use the quick flip dial that's located in the channel on the left side of the mouse. Although Logitech has designed a small ridge on the right side of the mouse that lefties may find supportive this is obviously a mouse built for righties first.
The MicroGear Scroll Wheel
Logitech says that the MicroGear Scroll Wheel "represents the single largest engineering effort ever undertaken by our engineering team," and their hard work shows; the scroll wheel is not only well designed with a smooth, progressive feel, but it is also surprisingly intelligent. Need to quickly scroll through large Web pages and documents? Place the scroll wheel in "freewheel" mode and give the wheel a quick, frictionless spin. The action feels much like a well-oiled roller-ball and offers blazing speed. Need slow scrolling for browsing photo libraries or spreadsheets? Switch to ratchet mode for precise movement. The included SetPoint software can automatically switch modes--a feature called SmartShift--or you can switch modes manually with a light press on the scroll wheel that shifts "gears." A note for Mac users: The Mac version of the MX Revolution Software does not appear to support SmartShift.
The action feels much like a well-oiled roller-ball and offers blazing speed
|
Quick Flip and Fingertip Search
Two other nifty functions make the MX Revolution a great tool for productivity freaks and power users. The included software installs an application switcher that is linked to the mouse's thumb wheel, an action called "Quick-Flipping." Clicking the thumb wheel brings up a window listing all currently active application windows. Rotating the wheel and then pressing it again when you've reached your selection brings up the window of your choice. The Fingertip Search, which relies on a small button just behind the scroll wheel, allows you to input any copied text into the search engine of your choice. For OS X users, the action brings up a Spotlight search window.
Connection and Power
Connecting the MX Revolution couldn't be easier. The included wireless USB dongle was immediately recognized by Windows and Mac machines, and after switching on the power switch on the base of the mouse, we were mousing almost instantaneously. Wireless mice are often a pain when it comes to battery life and replacement. The Revolution MX solves one of these problems by integrating a rechargeable battery. The included charging stand is simple and stylish, although it requires wall power--no USB charging. You'll be using the stand a lot, as we couldn't squeeze much more than a day's work out of the mouse before the low battery indicator appeared. The mouse does not appear to have a sleep mode when it's not active (or when folks inevitably forget to turn it off), a notable omission from a device that is otherwise a home run--as long as you're a right hander.
Pros
- Great ergonomics
- MicroGear scroll wheel and fast application switching
- Nifty charging stand
Cons
- Mac support not on par with Windows
- Poor battery life
- Don't bother if you're a lefty

Customer Reviews:
"World's most advanced" but not World's most comfort.......2008-01-01
This is supposed to be the top of line mouse from logitech as it is advertised as "World's most advanced mouse". It does have the features to be the most advanced. The rocking feature, MicroGear Scroll Wheel, is out of my expectation as it is the mouse driver which decide whether the wheel to go smoothly or click-to-click instead of you. Also, this mouse is not clumsy despite its mordern functions.
However, it is not the world's most comfortable mouse. Again the MicroGear Scroll Wheel will make you feel that you are not in control with this mouse. The second wheel which is besides your thumb in fact take up the space of your thumb. The forward and backward buttons are too slim that you have to click them carefully being afraid of breaking them.
Maybe this feeling will go away after some more time, if the durability of this mouse is indeed good.
Best Wireless Mouse.......2007-12-30
Great features and most buttons are programble. Unit works well from 25 feet away. Best of all is the fast scroll wheel, works great on long documents.
nice mouse.......2007-12-30
I bought this mouse when it was on sale recently after I started having troubles with my much-beloved and aging MX610. I am a heavy computer user, but only a casual gamer (guildwars, sims 2). I would say that this mouse is a very nice one, and that the only issue I had was the thumb rocker wheel. I kept hitting it and switching my game out of full screen mode. I solved this problem by changing the thumb wheel function to volume control using the included setpoint software. Much more convenient.
I love this mouse.
Logitech Cordless Laser Mouse.......2007-12-29
This cordless mouse is absolutely great. I am now considering a cordless keyboard. I was hesitant but my husband was gung ho to buy one of these. Since I've used it I wouldn't have anything else. No wire hanging so you aren't limited to where you can put it because of the length of the wire. I would definitely recommend it.
awesome! .......2007-12-29
Since it was a great deal on black friday, I went ahead and purchased it. This mouse is awesome. It's so easy to use and the battery to it last quite a long time. It has a charger where you dock your mouse. It's a worth it product!

Customer Reviews:
Mouse is good but the scroll wheel sucks after a few months.......2007-12-31
Hi everyone, I've been reading many cases of MX/VX Revolution's scroll wheel getting stuck/sticky after a few month's of usage. From what I've read, this is due to the rubber on the wheel getting loose and rubbing against the inside of the mouse - SEEMS LIKE INHERENT PROBLEM WITH THE MOUSE. PLEASE CHECK AT THE LOGITECH FORUMS BEFORE DECIDING ON THIS MOUSE
so compact.......2007-12-29
I was a bit skeptical about this mouse. But It seems to work great and I love the on/off feature. Now I don't have to worry about putting it in it's base every time I get through using it to charge it. It's very comfortable to hold also.
nice.......2007-12-29
Really nice mouse, would have been nicer if it was a rechargable mouse. very comfortable grip as well.
Solid Laptop Mouse.......2007-12-29
I originally bought one in mid 2007 at a local Office Max, not checking its price beforehand, for $80.
Even for that price, this is a great mouse, possibly the best laptop mouse out there right now.
Especially for people with small hands, it's light weight and small size make it ultra-portable for on the go users.
I don't really use the zoom and search features, but one key deciding factor when I bought the first mouse was the side buttons for easy web-surfing - I love the back and forward browser buttons - perfect for lazy surfers like me who hate having to scroll all the way to the upper left of the screen to go back or forward a page!
And one really cool feature is that there is a slot at the bottom end of the mouse to store the USB dongle/receiver - inserting it automatically turns the mouse off to save battery usage - sweet!
And I stated the price in the beginning as a comparison to how much it costs now - about $38 after a $15 rebate from Logitech - that's a steal!
One minor gripe is even though its got a laser sensor and is advertised as being able to work on mirrored or reflective surfaces - not really true, doesn't work for me.
Overall, its price, size, ergonomic and cool design, light weight, and portability make it one awesome mouse!
Logitech Laptop Mouse is Perfect.......2007-12-29
I have now had this mouse for about a year now, the size is great, not as large as a desktop but not your typical laptop mouse, it fits nicely in my hand for hours with no cramping/ fatigue. the battery life is excellent, it takes 1 AA battery. I've changed it 3 times in a year, with Energizer Lithium. The wireless connection is flawless, there is no lag or hesitation, it works great with games too. The forward and reverse thumb buttons are indespensable, I also like the search button and the zoom button is ok too. But I recommend this to anyone who needs a mouse for their laptop. Don't be discouraged by the price as it is well worth it.

Customer Reviews:
Logitech Cordless Desktop.......2007-12-29
I Love this Keyboard and Mouse - the keyboard is 100 times better than the one that came with my computer and the mouse is much smaller and lighter than the wireless Microsoft mouse I had before.
If you are looking for a wireless desktop I would highly recommend Logitech.
Amazing value.......2007-12-10
For $49.99 (after $10 rebate) at Amazon, this combination wireless keyboard-mouse is a gem! I have been using it for a few days now, and love it.
First, installation on my Vista machine was a breeze. So much so that I initially did not believe the instructions: insert batteries (provided by the way), plug the receiver, that's it? Well, that is it! I guess the drivers are already in Vista.
Interestingly enough, I never had to use the 'connect' buttons under the keyboard and mouse, I don't know what they're for. For me, it's just plug-and-play. No delay whatsoever.
Coverage is very good, over a large room (at least 15 feet) in plain line of sight of the receiver. It's very conceivable to use the set in a conference room or training room environment for presentations.
The keyboard is nice and compact, mostly due to the rearrangement of the 'middle keys' (Delete, Home, End, Page up, down). Insert was moved to the top function row. No big deal.
It's lacking LED's (Caps, Num, Scroll locks), probably to save space, battery life and cost. That's not an issue with me, I never looked at these LED's anyway. When you press any of the 'lock' keys, a message will display on the screen, useful for touch-typists who never look at the keyboard.
They key feel is excellent, soft, I never missed a key for not pushing the keycap down enough.
I noticed the key lettering was on the small size. It's a nice font, but for people who are not touch typists and a bit eye-blind, reading the letters might be a bit difficult. Contrast is excellent though.
Many functions keys are programmable using the software provided (installing the software is optional).
The mouse is nice and relatively small. I see these huge mice in the store aisles and always wonder who buys them! It fits my hand perfectly. It has very smooth tracking and "sticks nicely to the road" thanks to its weight (batteries!). The additional buttons (back, forward and scroll left, scroll right) are very useful when using a Web browser.
The power on/off button under the mouse is a nice addition, I wish the keyboard had one too. But maybe the keyboard does not draw much power anyway.
Considering how much you'd normally pay for a half-decent keyboard and mouse, this wireless combo by Logitech is a steal. Go for it!
Easy & Fun to Use Cordless Desktop.......2007-12-07
I'm totally happy with this keyboard and mouse. Both are comfortable to use and have a nice rubber-like surface that feels good against your skin. The keyboard is very quiet compared to my old standard keyboard: no more peck-peck-peck sound when typing! I really like the media buttons on the sides of the keyboard, they're handy when I'm listening to music on my computer. The mouse is very accurate and easy to control, and the extra buttons on top are useful when navigating the web. I think this set is a great value for the money.
looked nice didn't work.......2007-12-03
After doing a lot of research on a wireless keyboard and mouse I ordered this one. It arrived and never worked.
LogitechCordless Desktop LX 710 laser.......2007-11-21
11/21/07
I like the keyboard and mouse. I'm used to seeing the "Cap" light on in the corner on the keyboard. It's not there.........when you hit the "Cap Lock" it comes up on the monitor......but if I'm in a hurry, I tend to forget that the "Caps" are still on. I'll adjust eventually. I haven't had time to figure out all of the other functions on the keyboard yet, but I will.
It's a soft and easy keyboard with no reflective qualities and the mouse is great!

Sure-footed laser mouse.......2007-12-26
I bought this great laser mouse on the recommendation of my brother, who's been using it for over 6 months. It tracks much better on many surfaces that had confused my previous optical mouse. The small size is perfect for carrying with a laptop, although it has room for two AA batteries, yielding extremely long battery life. The wireless receiver conveniently slides into the bottom of the mouse for traveling. The scroll wheel has clicks, which I like. Altogether, a very good mouse. Thanks, bro.
Great all around mouse.......2007-12-21
After using this mouse on my business laptop I decided to get another one for my home laptop, even though the MS cordless mouse I have is still working. I use the Logitech V450 mouse 8-10 hours a day.
What's so great about this mouse?
1) Ergronomics: this "little" mouse, unlike many others, is comfortable to use for long periods of time. The slope of the left/right mouse buttons is such that my hand feels comfortable even though the back part of my "large" hand is off of the mouse. Key action is light but still firm enough you don't accidentally click things. Good job, Logitech.
2) On/off switch: unlike the MS cordless mouse the Logitech V450 allows you to turn off the mouse using a push button, conveniently located on the bottom of the mouse. A green LED by the switch shows when the mouse is on/off. So, it is NOT necessary to remove the receiver from the USB connector - like on the MS cordless mouse.
3) Invisible laser: provides very precise and fast tracking on all normal work surfaces. No problem doing detailed graphics work this little mouse.
4) Scroll wheel with detent: provides smooth, fast and effortless page scrolling though even large documents.
5) More power: the latest version of this mouse now comes with AA batteries, in the same small "form factor" as the orginal one I purchased that used AAA batteries.
In summary, I've done battle with a lot of different computer rodents over the years. However, for me, I find this little rodent is truly a pleasure to work with for all my home, business and travel computing.
Best mouse EVER!.......2007-12-21
My husband is a graphic designer and as you can imagine, is on the computer for hours every day. Not being big on new technology, he uses the same old mac mouse that comes with the system every time he upgrades.
He's starting to get carpal tunnel in his wrist, so I got him a Logitech MX Laser mouse. He hated it. Thought it felt like holding an iron. Too big and heavy. So, waited a while, did more research and got him the V450. He loves it! It's small, but not too small and light-weight. He uses it with his desktop computer every day. When he wants to use it with his laptop he just unplugs the usb receiver, stores it in the mouse (convenient!) and goes. We highly recommend this mouse.
cordless mouse.......2007-12-21
I did not see anywhere on the product page about it being for noteboooks, so I will have to return them. Not that the product is bad,but I need them for PC's.
4 Star -But read on!.......2007-12-04
I actually would give this mouse a 4 or 5-star but who reads the good reviews? People want to know what can go wrong, right? So this is what can go wrong:
The USB transmitters do not like to be paired with another V450 mouse without using the Logitech Connection Utility downloaded with the drivers. If you use the mouse, install the drivers. I bought 3 of these mice used. A new mouse probably will not have the problem, but they're only new "before" you open the package, right?
Take the USB transmitter out, insert the batteries (you have to push on a secret little button on the bottom of the mouse inside the stick slot to open the battery compartment) and turn on the mouse. The LED on the bottom should light up green and stay on. The LED on the top of the mouse turn on green for "good" battery, red for "low" battery, and blinking-red for "call CSI". If it turns green it will fade to "off" in a few seconds, so enjoy it while it lasts. THis is normal.
After plugging the transmitter into your computer's USB slot it should connect ("boo-beep" sound on a PC.). Hover on the Logitech Icon on the right task bar to check the mouse's battery. If there is no "battery is good" popup then the mouse is NOT connected. If you run the Logitech Setpoint driver utility there should be a tab called "My Mouse" when run. If not, then the mouse is not connected. "Half-connected" the mouse will give a "good battery indication" (see above) but if the cursor does not move you have to use the Connection Utility that came with the drivers to reset the mouse.
Oh, the pain I went through trying to get 3 used V450's working! But once connected...I love them. Except he dead one. CSI Logitech, come get this one.

Mouse !.......2007-12-26
Bought this mouse a couple of days ago.
Well sensetivity is pretty poor, not realy a gaming mouse.
If ur playing games in which you need precise chrosair, like Counter-Strinke, TF2 etc..u should get something else.
Guality of the mouse is good, its shiny and all that.
My rating would be something like 1.5-3
Simple Design, but great overall feel.......2007-12-23
It's a pretty basic mouse, but it's one of the best I've used. The bluetooth works well and had no issues connecting with my computer. It's well designed and ergonomically comfortable despite seeming a bit small, and I have large hands. Comes with a travel bag that is, again rather basic, but very practical. I usually find laser mice to be oversensitive, but this mouse is well balanced in terms of accuracy and sensitivity. No unique features here, but if you looking for a basic, good quality, stylish, bluetooth mouse for your laptop, or even a desktop, this is it.
Great Mouse!.......2007-12-21
I am using the Logitech V470 with a MacBook Pro and it's awesome. It works really well, and feels solid. The software doesn't take over the machine like some other companies Intellimouse ;) software. I have large hands, but this mouse fits great and is very comfortable. I also run Windows in Parallels and its great on that side of the world.
Awesome mouse!
It works.......2007-12-13
Purchased for iMac as a replacement for the bluetooth Mighty Mouse, since the MM scroll button stops working after a while, and I have to pry it apart to clean it. This is a more than adequate substitution, the wheel tilts to the right or left, allowing horizontal scrolling in Photoshop, etc. This might be hard on larger hands, as it's a small mouse, only 4 inches (10 cm) long and 2.35 inches (5 cm) wide. It is symmetrical, will work easily with either hand. I notice that as it wakes or sleeps, it interrupts the sleep cycle of my computer, something that I wouldn't notice if I chose a later time to sleep my computer. Sleep is not user settable with the software that comes with it. Wakes from reserve quickly. Crisp action.
Great mouse.......2007-12-12
I was a little hesitant about this mouse after reading that it is on the same frequency as my wireless home network, but am glad I decided to try it. I am happy to report after using it for a few weeks now that I have had no noticeable problems using this either at home or at school where there is a wireless network as well. The setup was easy, the mouse works as advertised, and because it is bluetooth I don't need to have a key sticking out of my laptop to use it. I recommend getting yourself 4 rechargeable AA's, one set to use and one to use while charging, so you don't have to keep buying batteries.

The best keyboard and mouse available for Macs.......2007-12-29
This keyboard is incredible! It's Very sleek, and stylish, and my wife loves it for our new Mac Mini! Wireless and with more functions and options than even Apple's own new aluminum keyboards and Mighty Mouse, this will impress friends and family much more than what Apple offers currently. The ONLY reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because at the time of writing, the packaged software that allows for function customization and such gives an error message that the customization program won't work on an Intel based Mac.
