CONS: Bluetooth receiver broke clean in half while attached to laptop (bent like a stick of gum!)! Most likely due to placing it in laptop bag with receiver still attached.
PROS: Excellent battery life, range, optical performance/response, ergonomics, size, style, value.
BOTTOM LINE: Always *stow* your receiver while you travel *inside* the mouse! Don't leave connected to USB port on computer!

After I ordered the Belkin mouse, I cleaned the crud from around the roller ball of my old mouse and thought I might have fixed the problem. Then I tried out the new Belkin and found the button action so refreshing! My SGI mouse was worse off than I had thought... I click 1000's time per day for 3D design modeling - no time for bad button action of the old mouse!

I picked up this mouse for about $10 and I've been pleased with its performance. Here's the rundown:
PROS:
* Price
* Optical sensor - movement is very fluid on a Mac
* Easy to hold in your hand
CONS:
* It doesn't include some of the bells and whistles that most people have come to expect of mice.
* It has a very long cord, which I don't quite understand. Most people have their mouse next to their computer, so having a long cord doesn't make sense.
SUMMARY: The buttons click well, the scroll button is very accurate, and the optical sensor is right on. For $10, you have no reason to complain about the lack of bells and whistles. If you're looking for a basic mouse and you just need something to work well out of the box, then this mouse is for you. If you're looking to spend more money on something that includes more functionality, then look elsewhere.
PC/MAC COMPATIBILITY: I'm running OS X 10.3.9 on a 800mhz iMac and both buttons and the scroll wheel behave exactly like they would on a PC with no downloads.

I decided to buy this particular mouse because I got myself a new ThinkPad and wanted to have a mouse that "matched" my laptop in terms of appearance. I also wanted a smaller mouse for when I am on the road. What I received however was much more than that!
This mouse has been so far the best mouse I have ever used! It is small, so it feels a little bit strange in the beginning, but extremely precise and sensitive in its response to hand movements. I had read that after you get used to it then all other mouses seem unnecessarily big and bulky and I need to say that this is true. After using this mouse at home all other mouses I have used at work don't even come close! The material it is made from is also very nice, as it provides a very nice grip. As per the looks, the red-lighted scrolling wheel makes it just fantastic! Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and I strongly recommend it. Two thumbs up!

IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse .......2006-04-20
I borrowed a friend's IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse to use temporarily, while I set up my new computer. However, after only two days of using this mouse, I have grown to like it so much that today I ordered one for everyday use in my home office. As another reviewer noted, the mouse feels small when you first start using it, but now that I've become accustomed to it, I don't want to use any other mouse. Its smaller footprint (not quite 3.5 inches, as opposed to my 5-inch IntelliMouse) makes it especially comfortable for people with small palms. The tracking is very accurate on smooth, hard surfaces, the buttons work easily, and the suede-like texture makes it extremely comfortable to hold. Another reviewer mentioned that the mouse is not as quiet as they'd like it to be, but the one that I've been using is completely silent. This one is definitely a winner.

Although ackward in the beginning, once you try you won't want another mouse. I initially took one for my laptop and for travel but I eded up using it at home. I like the lided red wheel, the lightness and the small size of this comfortable mouse - also very precise and sharp. I'd give it 5 stars but I prefer 4 stars because it is not as quiet as I wished it would be. Also I give it a plus for the soft touch - it is covered with a special material.

The BEST mouse I ever had. Tried some mouses of Microsoft, Logiteach, Fatality, and others, and none was as good as this Labtec mouse. The only issue is that you need to recharge battery every week if you use the mouse all the time. At the same time, if you don't move the mouse (even if it is working and shining) then the mouse save the power.

this is a wonderful mouse for me and I even feel better than logitech G7, since it is flexible and lighter,especially for people playing starcraft because people will move their mouse more often and quicker than the other games. the shortcomeing is that it is so small that you need some time to feel.

I purchased this mouse to use with my Macintosh when my preschooler fried my old Apple mouse. It tracks very well, feels good in my hand, and was fourteen bucks.
It included a USB extension cord, which I like because I have a choice of two lengths that way. I would say that calling it a "mini" mouse is a tad ambitious. Maybe compact would have been a better word. Or slim. But it's not really mini.

The mouse is great. I've bought 3 over the course of my life. Its perfect for laptop, a little short usb extention for desktop but highly recommend it for laptop only. The only issue I find upon this mouse is the wheel. Do not get me wrong there is nothing physical wrong with the wheel but when I am using Ventrilo with Warcraft III open. I am unable to use the wheel as a hotkey for my voice outbound. Most people dont use Ventrilo for WC III so why would that matter? Overall it is a great mouse at a great price that I highly recommend everybody to get.

Sorry for the repitition. I read all the reviews that said the mouse wasn't mini but i bought it anyways thinking still it would be in between medium and small. Like another reviewer said, the size feels like a regular mouse.
So you know exactly what you'll get, I measured it: 4 inches long (~10.4 cm).
On sale it is still a good deal for a Logitech mouse.
Mouse that works as it should.......2005-08-10
I've had this mouse for a little over a year now. I've been using it with my laptop. It has always worked as it should. I've never had any problem with it, despite few drops here and there.
Some one else commented that the mouse is not really compact. To me, this isn't a bad thing. If the mouse is too small, it would be uncomfortable to use in an extended period of useage. Since I can be working on the computer hours at a time, this is essential. Still it's not as big as regular sized mice.
The cable length is just right for my laptop. It comes with extention cable for those that require longer reach. I thought that was a nice touch.
I can recommend this mouse to anyone who's looking for a simple, wired mouse that just does what it's supposed to do.

This is THE gaming mouse........2007-08-02
I have been through around 25 or so "mice" over the past decade (I am a hardcore FPS gamer, Quake 4, Halo 2, Unreal Tournament 2004 [I run a professional UT2004 team], Half-Life 2, Counterstrike, etc) and have yet to find anything that compares with this mouse.
I have owned two of the previous IBM laser mouse of this design which used a wheel instead of the touch button, however, the tough button is a VAST improvement over the wheel, not only extending the life of the mouse but making it much simpler to scroll horizontally on websites.
The third-mouse button is located on the side and is pressed with the thumb, and when set as your "next weapon" key, allows a MUCH quicker change to another weapon vs. having to take your finger off the left click button to roll or press the wheel to change weapons, allowing a much quicker reaction time in the middle of a game.
I cannot recommend this mouse higher, I will be stocking several of these in my supply cabinet.

I've had a similar mouse by IBM, that had the scroll wheel. I loved that mouse. It finally died after years of abuse.
This model, similar in design (by lenovo) has a 'variable speed joystick' for a center button, which is really quite nice. I prefer tabbed browsing, and I can open up new tabs with a quick middle-click. Therein lies the rub.
This mouse has a 'middle button' - but its not in the middle. Its where your thumb is (just above it).
Its well designed, like the older model, and works flawlessly. I'm still trying to get used to it, but my mice at work are designed around the traditional design of the middle button being where your middle finger is.
After 2 days of very little use (I'm not often on my computer at home) - I find that I'm getting used to it... (but I'm still not sure).
It works great, Windows 2000 identified it with no issues (yes, I'm still using win2k; I haven't converted everything to Linux yet).
