Greatest deal ever! (at least so far).......2007-12-31
So far so good, I've only had it for about 3 weeks and so far I am in love with (1) How compact it is, case and all slide in my bag without that much added weight (2) How easy it is to sync, FAR easier than syncing my bluetooth for goodness sake! (3) the keyboard took a little getting used to but once I got the hang of it, it was no problem!
I recommend it or your phone if you really use the keyboard a lot of for an extended period of time. I do a lot of updating to word documents and create spreadsheets in excel so for me it's a God send.

Absolutely fantastic. Others have complained about having two function (FN) keys to worry about, numbers and special characters, etc. I have had no such troubles. Became accustomed with the keyboard format almost instantly.
Purchased the keyboard for use with my N800 Internet tablet, and works flawlessly with it. Do a lot of writing, programming work on it, and haven't had any troubles.

I really like my new Kensington keyboard. It is a bit smaller than most keyboards, without sacrificing the size of the keys and plus it has 8 hotkeys for ease and convenience. Since I have limited space, I wanted a smaller keyboard. This fits perfectly. And, as a bonus, it is very attractive and stylish.

I have several laptops and one of them is a great laptop with a terrible keyboard. So I purchased this keyboard to try to improve the situation... what a dream this keyboard is to type on! If you like a laptop-style keyboard with a low range of motion, rather than typical desktop-style keyboards with a greater range of motion in the keys, this keyboard is for you. I simply plugged it into the USB on day 1 and it works. Because it's very slim, I sit it right on top of the laptop keyboard. I have never even used the "special" keys it has, like "Sleep," but I love typing on it so much I bought another one for another laptop. It simply has the greatest feel to type on!

I have used this keyboard for quite some time, and I really really like it. Its got that laptop feel to it, with the short quick snappy key strokes. Takes very little effort to press the keys. And you get the laptop keys, AND a full numeric pad.
And the calculator key has been great, I use that a lot.
Great but flawed design.......2007-11-05
Ive been using this keyboard for over a year now, and simply put, it is BEAUTIFUL as keyboards go, great for typing, and somewhat compact. That's pretty much all that's good about it: you'll love the feel and looks.
Now, on the negative side, it suffers from some of the worst special-button layout in the history of keyboards. The Volume-Up/Volume-Down and Mute buttons are simply in the dumbest, most illogical, ridiculous, hard-to-memorize places one could possible hope to put them. They are among the silver buttons on the top button-bar, but are surrounded on both sides by other buttons, so you can never just reach down blindly and hit them in the dark. It's a nightmare. I mean, for crying out loud, the Calculator button is on the far right where the Mute should be.
Simply put, whoever designed the special-buttons bar needs to be handed this keyboard and told to try making volume adjustments for an hour, in the dark.
That alone makes this keyboard almost not worth getting.
Other negative issues include the fact that the silver border around the edges of the keyboard has all but entirely worn off on the bottom half of the keyboard, exposing a beige strip of plastic. I don't really care, but the thing is supposed to be metal for a KB that costs this much.
So, all-in-all, its a great keyboard with a massive, drive-you-up-the-wall flaw that really should be a turning point in deciding whether or not you get it.

The keyboard makes for fast typing and for longer as well. I am a college student and I believe this is a must because I have done so many essays and this keyboard has helped me get them finished so much faster than those regular bulky keyboards.

This is a too expensive product. You should think how many times you may use it before you buy it. Actually, I bought it 2 months ago and used only 2 times. Maybe, it is better to buy CD/DVD reader instead of burner (writer).

Bottom line, this product works exactly as advertised, no external power supply, light weight and slim. I have an "ultra portable" ThinkPad X60. The DVD only comes with the docking station. This product fills the gap so I can access CD and DVD drives when traveling without adding a lot of weight to my backpack. It consists of the drive and a special cable that plugs into two USB ports to draw the power necessary to operate, quite clever IMHO. And one of them is a pass thru so you only "lose" one port.

No extra AC power cord needed. My DVD player in my laptop went out and the laptop manufacturer wanted $450 for an in-case proprietary replacement. I use the DVD player a lot on the plane and unless I'm in first class, don't have power. This one runs off the USB power. It's very slim and not bulky. Just what I needed. I only have one question. Why don't they sell this thing in computer retail stores. It's a winner!

I received this as a gift and I LOVED it! I already have the mouse. The keyboard was very slim so the keys didn't take much to push them. That took some getting used to but I LOVED it! And then one day, not even a month after I got it, it just didn't work. I turned my PC on, trying to do the Ctrl+Alt+Delete thing and it just didn't work. I tried plugging it in to other PCs with no luck. I plugged another keyboard into my PC and it was fine. So it was definitely the keyboard. Unfortunately, I did not send it back, keep meaning to, so I have no feedback on the customer service. Will update if I ever get it done!

Love the look, feel, and everything about this keyboard. It's super slim with a soft keyboard, so it feels like a laptop keyboard. The overall appearance is awesome, from the colors to the Superman logo itself. Not to mention, it's plug and play so once you plug it in, it does a quick install and you're through! No fussing with installation disks! It has an extra key, a smaller backspace button, and a larger return button than my last keyboard, so it took a little getting used to at first, but now I absolutely love it.

I recently purchased the Keyboard and Mouse in Blue, MAN! am I ever pleased. First of all the plug and play feature with the USB hookup makes connection a breeze, it is by far the easiest piece of hardware I've ever connected to my PC. The performance of the easy touch keyboard is excellent, the keys are only slightly raised which makes typing comfortable and still easy to find the correct key. The mouse has eliminated the roller ball and uses light instead, which eliminates the need for cleaning the ball or contacts. They are faster than a speeding bullet and make my PC act more powerful than a locomotive, which enables me to leap long strands of information in a single keystroke...The performance of both of these pieces has far exceeded my expectations and I am more that pleased with them. I've decided to paint my tower metallic blue and customize my whole setup...Superman Rocks and so does the Keyboard and Mouse. I highly recommend these products for anyone who loves the Big Red S and their PC unit.

Good, thin, and functional.......2007-10-05
Here's a quick version of my thoughts: It has extra keys that make the plus and zero keys the size of most other keys instead of their typical double size, the keys are harder to press than your typical laptop keys, and there's a disconcerting warning about lead. However, it's thin, looks nice and simple, has keys that feel more like those on a standard keyboard, and, most importantly, is a keypad! I like it a lot, and it's worlds better than any way of entering numbers on a numpadless laptop keyboard. And now, the gory details:
All the usual keys are there, but the designer seemed to think it would be a good idea to stick in two extra keys, cutting two others down to standard size in the process. If you get used to using the new backspace key instead of flipping your hand over to the main keyboard for all your error correction needs, I think it could be quite helpful. However, it takes over the minus key's usual spot, forcing it down to where the top half of the plus key should be. This took me a bit of getting used to, but if you're used to Mac keyboards, you'll be right at home. The other new key has only two purposes: to enter three zeros with a single keystroke, and to replace the right half of the normal zero/insert key. I don't think either purpose is very good, but hey.
Next up is that lead warning that another reviewer mentioned. It was a bit disconcerting, but I'm lazily hoping it's a warning along the lines of cancerous things in California and nut-free candy made in factories that use peanuts. But if you're concerned about this sort of thing, it's probably better to save yourself the trouble and do without.
As far as the general look and feel are concerned, I really like this thing. The tops of the keys only sit about 2cm above the surface the pad's sitting on, yet they depress about as far as a full-sized keyboard's would. If you've gotten into laptop keyboard mode, they feel like they require a lot of extra effort to press, but they feel pretty good otherwise. The only real oddity with the key pressing is that the numlock key doesn't toggle unless you let go of it within half a second. I have no idea what purpose that could serve, but there you go. The whole thing feels solidly built, and it doesn't have bulky protrusions and LCD screens all over the place. The two USB ports up top (which are great for my 3-port laptop) hold on very well to the devices you feed them. I usually have a wireless mouse receiver hooked up to one, and I've had no problems after attaching a bluetooth receiver or a printer to the remaining port. Other reviewers have had power-related problems, though, so if you have really hungry devices, plug them directly into your computer instead, if you can. Finally, it is a corded device, and the cord is about two and a half feet long. Plenty long unless you intend to use it as a remote control or want to use it with a desktop computer that's not on your desktop. I usually plug it into the left side of my laptop with the cord running around the back, and there's lots of slack left in it.
That's all I can think of. If you need a keypad and want something thin and clean-looking, this should do the trick.

This USB Numpad is absolutely perfect! I love it to death and use it daily. I'm a student at UPenn and I've got a lot of math and computer science classes that involve A LOT of numbers. Having a real numpad (not just the Fn+letters one on the laptop keyboard) makes calculations and number entry move much faster. People are impressed that I "actually know how to use one of those things." The two USB ports in the back are priceless to me; I could either have a numpad and a USB hub or just both in one...makes packing up the comp for class very quick and easy. Plus, I don't have to use the USB ports on the side of my computer any more...saves me some desk space. Oh, and I think the style goes well with my Toshiba laptop ;)

I bought this for my wife who has a Toshiba laptop, and she couldn't be happier with this keypad. She does a lot of data entry, and this keypad is comfortable to use, has a similar feel as her Toshiba laptop keyboard, and it's very easy to install. Just plug into a USB port and it works.

I bought a white model back in February of this year and later bought a black model (July) for a backup, both from Amazon. Since I'm a typical "guy", I'm not much into color coordination. Anyway, to me, the black model is slightly better as I like the way the space bar feels better.
But trust me, both models are superb!!!
While the "touch" is "similar" to a laptop, it is just better. Short throw, but a very noticeable tactile feedback. Plus it has all the standard keys. Very rugged and solid, somewhat heavy, indicating good build quality.
Naturally, I dumped the standard Apple keyboard quickly after using these "pup's" for a while. The Apple KB's just get to sticky and grindy after a few weeks of heavy use. Their keys and receptacles are just plastic on/in plastic and eventually the wear is evident. YUCK!
The only keyboard I've found that comes close to this is the Mattias "Tactile Pro". And yes I had one. Great "feel", but unfortunately the case cracked and two keys "stuck" after about 4 months. Now that Mattias wants $150 for these guys, I would say no! Just get this MacAlly and don't look back. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Terrific keyboard for Mac. Mine is used with a Mac Mini running OSX 10.4.10. Because my display has a black frame, I didn't want a white keyboard (which seems to be pretty standard for Macs).
This one replaced an "ergonomic" keyboard that my wife just hated. Touch is excellent on this keyboard, with a smaller key stroke than most. More like a laptop keyboard.
The Mac recognized the keyboard without installing any drivers, but to use the volume & disk eject buttons the Macally drivers need to be installed. Installation was quick & easy, and no problems.

I'm a Mac guy but I've always loved the keyboard on my ThinkPad. So when my new MacPro arrived, with a keyboard even crummier than the one that came with my G4, I set out to find something better.
I saw this Macally in a store and it seemed great. Although you can buy this item for less elsehwere I got it from Amazon to leave myself an out, in case it had to go back. Well it IS great. The touch is light as a feather, its quiet and it looks nice, too. Not everybody will like this type of keyboard but if you do, it is a huge upgrade from the standard Mac keyboard.
Two other plusses. Its corded so no problems with interference, sluggish performance etc. Even better, it requires no software. It does come with software but I'm not about to risk the inevitable conflicts in order to get a few speed keys.

Great Keyboard At a Fair Price.......2007-12-28
I love this keyboard!
The "finger-feel" is just superb, there's no doubt about whether or not a key-press has registered, you can feel it in your fingertips. If you're accustomed to keyboards that register strokes with almost no pressure you may not like this one. It's not difficult to press the keys but it does take a definite, dedicated press to type. Don't get me wrong, it's not arduous and you won't get tired or sore during typing marathons (I can't speak for arthritis sufferers, or those with other physical problems, though).
It's not a noisy keyboard but you can hear the keys being depressed. It's a soft noise, not a "click." The spacebar makes a slightly louder noise.
I'd love to have this available with Bluetooth (I'm using it on my MacBook with a desktop monitor) but that aside, the long USB cord (6 ft. or a bit more) is very handy for those reclining-back-in-my-chair writing sessions. As I've discovered, it's handier to have a wireless mouse than a wireless keyboard. Although if Macally introduces this keyboard with Bluetooth, I'll buy it and use the corded one on my PC.
You'll need to install the driver to use the volume controls on your Mac but everything works just fine and I'm glad that I did.
The keyboard is flat, comfortable to use, solidly made, and the two USB ports are very handy, too. It's not readily apparent on Macally's website but it's available in both white and black colors.
Just a warning, Macally makes cheaper models with similar names, make sure you read the comments about them on Amazon before buying them.

I just purchased my 4th Icekey (in black) to replace my second one that I was using w/ a docking station on my laptop. My first icekey met it's demise when it got wet (the circuit is printed on acetate and will run if it gets wet; bye-bye keyboard), but I was undeterred and got a second one. I bought a 3rd one when I lost a key after moving. I originally got the icekey right when it came out because I loved the ibook keyboard so much and I have never looked back. There is not a better keyboard on the market. I looked at apple's newest keyboards and found that they offered too much resistance (the only Apple keyboards I liked were the original macintosh/Apple IIGS keyboards and the Apple Adjustable Keyboard).
I encourage you to go to a store and try this keyboard. A+++
Stubborn pile of Junk.......2007-11-11
This stupid pain in the neck keyboard is as stubborn as can be. It lasted 2 and a half months before giving in. At least it felt nice to work with and didn't have ugly 80-ish block letters like the older Apple keyboard that I'm using now. Feels like beige city.

Think before buy.......2007-12-03
This is a too expensive product. You should think how many times you may use it before you buy it. Actually, I bought it 2 months ago and used only 2 times. Maybe, it is better to buy CD/DVD reader instead of burner (writer).

Bottom line, this product works exactly as advertised, no external power supply, light weight and slim. I have an "ultra portable" ThinkPad X60. The DVD only comes with the docking station. This product fills the gap so I can access CD and DVD drives when traveling without adding a lot of weight to my backpack. It consists of the drive and a special cable that plugs into two USB ports to draw the power necessary to operate, quite clever IMHO. And one of them is a pass thru so you only "lose" one port.

I was so pleased to have a CD ROM drive again (the one built in to my computer died ages ago). This little number is great! Absolutley reliable, perfect XP compatibility, and the USB connection makes it so easy -- no extra power cords.

Recently decided to use my dvd slot on my thinkpad t60p for another hard-drive. This external slimline dual dvd writer runs off my usb port: the included power adapter is not required for newer machines. I did a lot of research, this looks like the best product out there for slimline dvd writers that can be powered of the machine itself
Exactly what I needed.......2007-01-10
No extra AC power cord needed. My DVD player in my laptop went out and the laptop manufacturer wanted $450 for an in-case proprietary replacement. I use the DVD player a lot on the plane and unless I'm in first class, don't have power. This one runs off the USB power. It's very slim and not bulky. Just what I needed. I only have one question. Why don't they sell this thing in computer retail stores. It's a winner!
