Its a good fan over all. But I would like the lower speed to be much lower. Low speed is like high speed in most fans. Its would be a good one for bigger rooms. Breeze is a good feature. Timer and Remote are very useful. Wish they had remote for swivel too ;) (i know its too much to ask for).

Our fan quit working after only 2 weeks. Honeywell directed me to talk to the vendor, but the vendor refuses to replace either the fan or our money. suddenly shuts off.......2007-09-11
we have had this fan about a year and loved it until it suddenly decided to shut off whenever it feels like it. sometimes it will run for an hour and sometimes for 30 seconds. wouldn't buy again.
Too loud!.......2007-08-22
I had to return this fan as it was just far too loud. It seemed to be an okay fan other than this one problem, and it would probably be a good choice for a large workroom or garage, but I bought it for my bedroom. It's the same size as the fan I had previously, but this Honeywell fan is so loud that it actually kept me awake at night.
Incidentally, I was able to determine that the noise is due to the shape of the fan blades themselves. Indeed, under product features it says: "Powerful turbo wind generator blades move more air than standard "pedal style" blades." Turbo wind generator blades... yes, it did rather remind me of an airplane engine.
I plan to buy another fan with the larger, rounder blades instead.

I purchased this fan because my 9 year old daughter told me that her teacher had purchased one for her classroom and it worked "super"! I was reluctant to spend as much as I did but my home faces the afternoon sun and gets up to 40 C.
I took it home and it had my living area cooled off in 10 minutes. It moves a lot of air even on the low setting. The high setting is very powerful! I agree that it is a little noisier but I can tune it out. I don't use the "breeze" setting and worry if I use it I will burn out the motor. I do however love the remote control and the timer. If you are thinking about purchasing a fan this is the one I would recommend.

Decent fan, but...
1) I could not secure pole to base.
2) The Honeywell brand factored heavily in my purchase, yet I've used many noname fans with significant more power.
3) I, therefore, suspect the steep price tag is mainly due to the remote, which I don't use.

This is a great product. I would give it 5 stars only if it were a little quieter. The Breeze function is AWESOME! Who ever invented this feature, is a genius!! The three speeds are great too, from low to high, and high is high. I would recommend this product and buy another one in a second.

I am very very happy after buying this product. First of all I have to appreicate Amazon people for their speedy deliverly. It came in just 3 days after I purchased online. And coming to the fan, its works pretty well though a bit noisy. Definitely its not an issue if you look at the other features it offered. Moreover assembling the parts is really easy. Good air flow, but loud, and limited oscillation and tilt........2006-08-09
It blows a decent amount of air, but is loud on the high setting. The 2 piece pole makes it nice to set it up for different heights (they are 2 different lengths, so you can use either one, or both). But it oscillates and tilts a limited amount, far less than other fans I have. And the first time I lifted it using the molded-in handle on the top of the rear grill, the entire rear grill came off. It is plastic (the front grill is metal), and the large plastic nut holding it on wouldn't tighten it properly, it just stripped when I hand-tightened it. I used Gorilla Glue to fasten it and it hasn't loosened since (I move it around a lot).

The fan was really easy to set up, and works pretty well. Only complaint is that it's crazy loud in the high setting. But at low and medium, it does the trick.

This is not a good one. I requested for return , No one responded, even Amazon also not responded to my request.
The turn screw of the Fan which supports the height adjustment is not working fine. we are unable keep the adjustment. I just kept in the way as it is.

Holmes oscillating stand fan is not very tall and the fan head does not tilt up and down as much as it should, but for the price it is well worth it. It is next to impossible to find oscillating fans in a store at the end of October because it is a "seasonal" item. I'm very happy to have been able to purchase it via the internet at this time of year.

I bought this fan specifically looking for a white fan thats somewhat powerful that I can take apart and put together everytime I used it. It was to blow around artificial snow from two snow machines. Works great But the only thing I wanted was something a bit more powerful. Everything esle about it was perfect for what I wanted and needed. Kudos to the manufacturer for a great product and an awesome price. You'll be very happy if you use it for a regular fan in your home or office that stays put together.

Saw it for $11.66 but didn't want to pay for the shipping so I went to True Value and sure enough they had it at the same price. $12.56 total in CA. This fan (Model HASF1675 since amazon never mentioned the number) is exactly what I needed. I have a window fan but unless you're right in front of it it's pretty useless. This was the perfect compliment to it. Placed right in front of the $30 HAWF2043 window fan I got off here, it blows the cool air around perfectly.
Quieter than the other room's Frigidaire AC on High, it does its job really well that my papers actually fell off the desk on the other side of the room. My biggest fear was the wimpy looking stand it has, but somehow it's pretty stable. And by pretty stable I mean VERY stable. My other roommates are jealous now, which says a lot. This room has an incandescent lamp, two 17" CRT monitors and a computer that produces a LOT of heat, yet somehow this thing did the job. Oh yea this is all in Anaheim CA where it was in the 80s I think today.
BTW installation took maybe five minutes to complete. Phillips screwdriver required.

Living in a Brooklyn apartment with few windows, sometimes it gets warm and stuffy in the winter. A fan's a good choice to move the air around, but who stocks fans in December? Amazon and their associates, that's who!
This is a solid and sturdy fan that's definitely powerful but fairly quiet: if you're looking for one that provides a good breeze with large range of motion (it'll oscaillate back and forth, up and down, or both at once if you want) without rattling or roaring, this is a good choice. There's plenty of customizable options including timer modes that are easily adjustible from the remote control. The base is heavy and strong; this thing won't be knocked over easily. A lighted LED panel on the fan shows you what mode you're in (it shuts off after a minute or two so you don't have it illuminated all the time) and the fan is programmable either from buttons on the pole or the included remote.
Two minor quibbles for your info, but they don't really detract from my five-star ratings: the assembly was a bit tricky, with English-as-a-foreign-language-written instructions and a couple excess holes that didn't *quite* match up with screws. (No big deal; there are many multiple screws in each location and missing one screw out of six on the base hasn't hurt it.) Second, the remote control feels flimsy and cheap.
Still, the Soleus FSH-40G is a great choice for a standing fan, and it's sure making my hot city apartment fresh and cool.

it's not an air conditioner.......2006-08-05
its quiet for what it is. theres a auidible but low-pitched hum coming from the motor, its not bad considering I've heard noisier fans then this. I kept 2 of these fans running at high speed, in my bedroom, at opposite ends during the heat wave. when the power went out, I realised these fans really do work. the room was noticably cooler. I plan to get another one of these & a window fan for my kitchen. it's worth the price.
the only reason I didn't give these fans 5 stars is because the height adjuster on one broke a little too easily... but I think its perfect at its lowest level anyway, with no adjustment its level to the bed.
lasted a while, easy to clean..........but!.......2006-07-08
Alothough it lasted 7 years, and was easy to clean, the high mode isn't very high. It is suppose to be quiet but it makes so much noise, that it sounds like a turbo prop jet. I recently got a lasco tower fan and it blows very well.... but I don't know how easy it is to clean or how long it lasts!
