I bought the Slingbox Turbo not to go with another Slingbox product but just as a powerline network product. It was the best price I found when I bought it. It works great. Plug it in and go. No setup or software or anything. Sure beats running hard connections through the walls. X-Box works like it is hard connected with ethernet!

This product not only proved itself, but it solved the problem of having to drill holes and run cables through the house, especially in a very difficult area. I am extremely pleased with this item, and would like to see the price drop a little more, but all in all it is definitely worth the price and time involved. It took about 3 minutes to have it all setup. There is no programming at all, it's all automatic.

Networking Made Simple
The SlingLink Turbo acts as an extension cord for the Internet by using your home's existing electrical wiring to transmit the ethernet signal from your router. Works Well with Others
It's a little-known fact, but the SlinkLink Turbo will work with other Powerline adapters you might already have. SlingLink Turbo will recognize it in the network and adopt it into the configuration. Works and is easy to setup. Just plug it in and your ready to go. No software is needed.
The only minor complaint is the lack of instructions...there is a quick install guide only. I found out by trying it, that you can put either the 4-port or the 1-port attached to your router. It doesn't matter.
Can say much about speed, but the connection seems fast.
In my setup, the 4-port is hooked to the router with the 1-port hooked up to my DVR. The units are on different electrical circuits. The 4-port is in the basement on one circuit breaker and the 1-port is upstairs.
This was much easier than running wires!

Was using a Belkin wireless "G" gaming adapter (bridge) which didn't work bad, but this blows it out of the water as far as speed. Sixty bucks at Best Buy (11-16-2007), get em while they're hot.

Slingbox is on par with Apple on their packaging of there products. I have the Slingbox Pro, HD Cable, and now this Powerline 4Port link. Everything you need is in the box or was with the Pro (2nd cable) I had this thing setup and running in less then 4 minutes. You open the box and the the next most difficult thing if you are like me is opening the plastic bags that each unit is in. (I did not want to rip them in case I needed to send this back) Plug in and done. I removed the 25' cable I had running across the carpet from my router to my Slingbox. (now happy wife too, thanks Sling Media)
I am using the Slingbox with my laptop and cell phone and both have great pictures coming across. I am only using one port on the SlingLink now but can see needing the others for future components near the TV. (Santa - PS3)
Big Discount at Best Buy (as of Nov. 9th).......2007-11-10
Just a heads up that this item is on sale for $59.99 at Best Buy. When I asked why they are discounted so steeply, an employee said that they aren't selling well, so Best Buy is only going to sell the 1 port model after these sell out.

In a large (brand new 5-bedroom, 3500 sq ft house) it works pretty well. NOTE: my specific objective was to support a SlingBox (original) with cable Internet elsewhere in the house.
I've used SlingBox and SlingLink Turbo in two different configurations:
1. SlingBox connected directly to my router; SlingLink supporting other wired + wireless computers elsewhere in the house via a wireless router.
2. SlingLink connected the Internet and SlingLink broadcasting to SlingLink supporting my SlingBox and XBOX 360 as "slave" devices.
The first configuration is better (obviously) because SlingBox can "broadcast" up to a full 2.5Mbps over a LAN connection. The second configuration is better for everyday use since I get maximum Internet bandwidth on computers.
Findings:
1. Internet speed test dropped from 18-19Mbps down / 2.5Mbps up (Comcast w/ SpeedBoost) to 2100Mbps down / 800Kbps up.
2. SlingBox over SlingLink drops to 1.2Mbps (video quality is a bit choppy vs. perfectly smooth otherwise). I've had it spike to 1.6Mbps over the LAN.
3. Additionally SlingBox over the open Internet (original intended use) maxes out at 600kbps, which is a hair below what it was without SlingLink in the middle.
4. The only real "issue" with SlingLink is probably due to home wiring (i.e. on a semi-related note I had to re-wire every cable jack and replace the primary splitter that my electrical contractor originally installed because the cheap original hardware was so bad that ).
5. Newer SlingBoxes (AV/PRO/SOLO) may be more tolerant of "spotty" Ethernet connections, considering they have newer H.264 compression chips.
All in all I'm happy. Wireline Ethernet isn't perfect and would probably work a lot better in a condominium or smaller house. A larger house would/could justify multiple cable modems.

This class 6 rated SDHC card is much slower than my other cards. Campared to Transcend 4gb 150x SD and Sandisk Ultra CF, this card takes 2-3 times as long to write. Tested in 2 different card readers, same overall result.

I put this card in a recently purchased Nikon D40x. The card works great. I love how fast it transfers pictures from the card to the PC. I can copy 4mg pictures from the card to my pc faster than my old 2gb card could copy 900kb pictures.
For the price, and the excellent performance I don't see how you could go wrong.

I popped the SD card into my brand new Canon S5 IS and started snapping. After 20 shots, the SD card failed and was unreadable in the camera. Attempts to format failed as well as the card was unresponsive.
I have sinced purchased two SanDisk 2gb Ultra II SD cards and am very pleased with their speed, consistency, and reliability.
It's partly my fault for going for the lowest priced Class 6 SDHC card. But for the card to fail so quickly and readily was a huge surprise.

Worth it? Maybe........2007-12-02
For about the price of a nice dinner by yourself, you can obtain this card. Caching is nothing new to computers and the idea of having a separate 1gb cache seems like a great idea. To use this item you have to have a computer equipped with the Turbo Cache card slot. I have an Inspiron 1720 and this is found right next to my WIFI card slot. The advantage of having that is that you do not have to occupy a USB port or SD card slot to benefit from the caching. I also imagine that this slot is hard wired to the computer using a whole separate buss making it faster.
But question is does it do what it promises. It does to some degree. I do see a small decrease in boot times. Also the programs that I use daily do load and perform much faster. I cannot say that I am saving battery power because of less disk access, but that is really a hard call since I recharge my laptop every night.
Ultimately, this is a feel good item for the most part. If you have an empty slot in your laptop, fill it. If you are looking for a massive performance boost, it would be better to consider upgrading the 5400 rpm hard drive to a 7200 rpm drive. Or if you are still floating in the 1gb RAM or less club, consider going to 2gb in Vista. Those are the real icing on the cake. This is just the little flower decoration that makes it look a little more appetizing.
No Real Difference..........2007-11-17
Installed in my ThinkPad mostly to complete the specs with the hope of some improvement in performance but I had read prior to purchase that the difference is barely negligible. Anyways the price was good and I didn't have it so I got it. It fills that space. Maybe Intel will update the drivers to allow real performance.

This product is for the person who is trying to squeeze every last bit of performance they can out of their computer running vista.
This product functions adequately. However, it did not produce a significant systems performance boost. But, I already had 2 Gigs of memory, a 7200 RPM hard drive, and 2.2 GHz cpu. The results may be more pronounced if you have less ram and a slower hard drive.
However, the software uses up some of your RAM and must load into memory after Windows has loaded before it can be utilized by the system, so is unlikely to offer drastic system enhancement for any computer.
The specs don't tell you that this 1 Gig module is actually made up of 2 separate 512 Megabyte chips. Each one operates independently of the other. One chip works with windows ready boot to help speed up boot time. The other works with ready drive to help minimize accessing the page file on the hard drive. The Intel configuration program only allows you the option of selecting whether or not each 512 meg chip is active. You cannot designate the entire 1 gig for one purpose.
This type of memory wears out faster than a hard drive or standard memory, but lasts longer than the standard USB flash drive. Hopefully, as this type of technology advances, future versions will be able to drastically reduce boot time.
You will want to go to Intel's website and download the latest installation program for this hardware.

I received these for chistmas as replacement to my ipod earbuds and I am less than satisfied, they will be returned. First, the bud shape is awkward and large, and becomes uncomfortable to wear after 10 minutes use. They are bass-ier than the ipod buds and I can't hear the singer's nuances as well, which may or may not be a minus to others, but I prefer vocals over boom. And yes they are light, but the material is a slick hard-plastic which is hard to grip and also hollow, so anything touching against the bud reflects into your ear..for instance, hair brushing over the outside plastic becomes amplified, which is annoying and distracting.
The sound is decent for the price, and if you have short hair it may not bother you, but these are not the best choice for everyone.

When I purchased these I had the mindset of just giving them a try because they were only 8 dollars. I didn't expect too much. I got them to replace my Ipod earphones which are the lousiest earphones ever. more sound left the earphone to the surrounding environment than what actually entered my ear. These sony earphones are different. I am really happy with the purchase.

These lightweight, comfortable earbuds provide good, well-balanced, sound at an attractive price. They do not rival $200 headphones, of course; but they are better than one would expect for the price. There are no frills--I used to have a similar set with a small in-line volume control, but they were bundled with a Sony Clié PDA and don't seem to be available for separate purchase. One word of caution: an identical pair of these headphones developed distortion on one side after only about three months; I have no idea if it is common for them to go bad so quickly, but at their low price I was willing to gamble on another pair--so far, after about a month, there have been no problems.

Do not buy these. After two minutes of using these, I realized that they weren't going to stay in my ears and I was S.O.L. They are oddly shaped, uncomfortable, and do not stay in.
Good Earbuds for the Portables.......2006-12-29
I bought these earbuds for my CD player (at the time) because the ones I had before died on the right side. They were a pair of RCA behind the neck headphones I bought at Family Dollar for very cheap. I would buy another pair but now I have an iPod and want to buy mostly earbuds and clip headphones that are more portable. I was planning on buying a pair of Philips earbuds at Target because (I thought) these were dead on the right side and I dislike the iPod earbuds, but when I plugged these into my iPod they worked fine. After a break-in session they sound even better.
Well, they are only ten bucks, so what can you expect? Not a ton, not a surround soundstage and great, powerful sound, but maybe something that has at least average sound, are comfortable, and will last a decent amount of time. And thatt's mostly what I got with these earbuds.
They don't have stellar sound (that for some reason a ton of reviews rave about), but they have decent sound that's good enough for the money. Not a lot of bass, but some pairs at this price have barely any bass. The mids on this pair are emphazised (but not by a lot, props to Sony). And they do have a good, clean sound to them, so even if you are unhappy with the low end of these earbuds you at least have a good upper end.
For other aspects of the earbuds, they are very comfortable and fit much better than the Apple earbuds, but feel better with the pads. I have already lost the pads but still fit fine and are still comfortable for long periods of time. Also, these are some durable headphones so far, and after a half-year of use they still put up nicely.
Overall, not a bad pair of esrbuds for portables. Already got a better pair? Keep these for some useful back-ups. They don't have amazing sound, but are comfortable and last long enough to make them worth the price. 4 stars.
NOTE: These are the case-less version of the MDRE828LP earbuds. If you want a case for a barely steeper price, check out the MDRE828LP earbuds instead of these, but if you want a money-saver, buy these.

The speed of the card, depends on your reader. If you have a slow reader/writer, then you will have issues. I use a Sandisk Mobilemate SD Plus reader, and this thing just flies. It is a great little tool.

Died in 2 weeks.......2007-12-31
I used this card in my Panasonic HDC-SD5 camcorder for a week for testing before the Christmas party. It worked fine for that week, but saddly it started to give error during recording at the party on tripod mount. I turned off the camcorder and turned it back on, the camcorder says "Reparing Data", and after a minute it starts to record for few seconds and then "Card Error" appears again. After that, the card complete died on me. The card now doesn't read by usb card reader anymore. I tested the camcorder with Sandisk card and worked fine but as soon as I popped this one in, "Card Error" appears and wouldn't record. Its life span was only a little more than a week. I wish A-Data has better quality control before releasing this to the public. Should've spend more money to get a better card. The money saved wasn't worth the video lost. Lesson learned.
Wish I could give it ZERO stars. Defective on arrival.......2007-10-31
Paid $63 plus shipping. Put it in new camera, and it displayed a CARD ERROR. Other SDHC cards worked perfectly in the camera. Tried the ADATA in another digital camera that accepts SDHC cards and also got a CARD ERROR message. Would not respond to a format command either. Didn't show up when I put it in a USB attached SDHC card reader on the computer.
Perhaps some people had better luck, but the company obviously doesn't test these cards before they send them out.
Doesn't work for long!.......2007-09-17
I bought the 4GB version of this card for my new Kodak Z1275. It worked great at first - I could take over 1000 12mpx shots....but then for no reason I noticed my count changed to like 85. I took the disk home and put it in my computer - It shows two things: 1) there is nothing on the disk - all files have been removed 2) there is only 8% capacity left.
I have NO idea what happened....but now it's worthless..

It's a memory card, and sure, it does its job. I bought it for my Cowon D2, and it worked seamlessly with it. I got no problems after having it for 3 days. What more can I say? It works as it should.

I bought this SD card to use in my D80 Nikon SLR Camera. I took 3 shoots and the card is slow....just a little bit. I swap to my other card , Sandisk Extreme III, 2 GB...and the Sandisk performance is much better. I do not agree with other customer opnion because is very clear at description that card is SD HC (high capacity) and it is not compatible with a lot of equipaments...i going to try to use it ...and i hope that card increase the write velocity....
