Amazing at first........2007-07-31
I was very surprised at how strong the beam was initially. Problem was that the unit is very cheaply made and the contact point with the button became loose by the 2nd hour of operation. This resulted in an inconsistent beam that worked only part of the time.

I just received my item and after testing it out, the beam is barely visible in daylight. Night time it may go its "600 feet" distance, but the beam is VERY small, and VERY weak. I tried it with some brand new batteries and same effect. it only operates at 5mw of power

the unit is not stable. The laser has deffects in size and the intensity is variable. Beaware, maybe I got a deffective one so I am thinking about returning it.

After countless purchases of crappy laser pointers that eat the batteries (yes those small possibly swallowable batteries)I finally found one that has yet to dissappoint me. Sure red is a cool color and all and those laser pointers may have been cheaper on cost, they cannot measure up to this MiracleBeam Green Laser pointer. I've abused the heck out of this thing and the batteries have held up (This puppy takes AAA batteries by the way) So lets review
1 - Much powerful laser beam (which puts the red to shame)You can aim this thing up at night and see it's path on most occassions
2 - It takes AAA batteries not those easily lost watch batteries
3 - A green laser so people won't think "OMG a red laser duck!"
My cat and my guinea pig get a kick out of it (I'm sure dogs would too)Sure it may seem pricey but its worth it. I now wonder what other colors for laser pointers are out there.

this is a pretty good product. i was looking for a cool laser to shoot around and point out the stars, and it works. but the laser is only vivible if there is moister, dust, or ash in the air. so during daylight, dont expect anything. alltogether, its a great product. fast shipping too!

The Laser is very bright, enough to light up a room in the dark. The only improvement I would like is for the button to be harder to press. The slightest touch will turn on the laser so it is not practical to carry around without the case.

I bought this as a gift for a buddy and he loves it. He is a contractor and uses it to highlight areas as he is talking with his workers and customers. This thing has amazing range. Some people report being able to see the beam in the dark, we did not find this to be true. If there is any dust or vapor in the air then the beam is visible in the dark.

Fantastic for work or play........2007-09-06
This is an awesome laser pointer. I use it in a manufacturing facility to point out locations to run cable or install equipment near the rafters. The beam is incredibly bright and strong. I have also used it for star-gazing and it appears to touch the star. However, it is not the best for use in PowerPoint presentations. The beam is so bright it hurts the eyes at close distance and completely takes the focus off of the presentation. Other than that, I've had it for 4 months and still going strong on the Toshiba batteries that were included (with regular use).
fantastic laser pointer.......2006-12-13
I was hesitant when my son wanted a green laser pointer for Christmas as I had seen several red laser pointers and felt they left one wanting more. I opened his package prior to wrapping and tried it out. Wow. I live in the country and was able to shine this thing across a 200 acre field to an abandoned barn and light up the entire side of the barn. It has so much power; when you shine it into a dark sky the dust particles floating through the beam sparkle and the beam looks as though it is disappearing into space. A fantastic gift for anyone interested in astronomy or who wants a superior laser pointer. There is no comparison to the old red pointers. Caution though, I would be careful giving this thing to a younger kid (
<12).
