Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse - BX3-00008 ( Slate Gray ) -
Customer Reviews:
Good Wireless Mouse.......2007-12-31
Installation was a snap. No problem there. Mouse response is very good. Comfortable to use (even for my big hands). Very precise. I do a lot of graphic design with a pen/tablet, and this mouse rivals that for precision. Very happy so far.
Perfect.......2007-12-31
I bought this mouse along with a cleaning kit off of Amazon for my brother for Christmas.
I was very afraid of paying good money for a mouse that may be too small, and I risked it. It is definately worth the buy. The battery life is fantastic and the size isn't too small, even for man hands. The fact that the USB thing attaches to the bottom while traveling is wonderful.
All in all worth the buy.
Very Iffy.......2007-12-30
After all the hype of the wireless mouse, I decided to figure I'd go for the best known brand. Microsoft. Come to find out, their product, which I paid about thirty dollars for, is cheap. The USB receiver broke and I found myself trying to fiddle with it to get it to work. It's really a waste of time and definitely not a good investment.
What can I say? It works!.......2007-12-29
I've used this plug and play mouse on Windows and Mac machines without fail. The use is as simple as it looks. Without reading the manual, I was able to pop open the top of the mouse, put in a battery, and then plug in the USB dongle. No software needed. I love that the USB dongle clicks into the bottom of the mouse for travel too. Been running on the same battery for 3 months now without fail.
I also have to commend the form factor. Usually, when a mouse isn't designed well it feels strange to hold. This one had it right, with a right-side indentation that allows the ring and pinkie finger (for right-handed users) to fall a little.
I'd highly suggest this product to anyone looking for a simple, easy mouse replacement.
Great mouse for Notebooks!.......2007-12-28
I love the compact size and that you can store the usb dongle in the bottom of the mouse. The only complaint that i have is that i was told that this mouse had the 4-way scrolling option and it DOES NOT! But otherwise I like the mouse a lot. I would recommend this mouse to everyone that has laptop!

Product Description
The Mighty Mouse's tracking engine is based on powerful laser technology that delivers 20 times the performance of standard optical tracking, giving you more accuracy and responsiveness on more surfaces. It works just as well on your office desk as it does on a table at your favorite coffee spot without a mousepad. The Might Mouse combines the capability of a multibutton mouse with Apple's signature top-shell design for both form and function. Mighty Mouse's Scroll Ball features miniature sensors that allow you to manipulate what appears on your screen merely by moving your finger. The 360-degrees scrolling perfectly positions to roll smoothly under just one finger. Touch-sensitive technology under Mighty Mouse's seamless top shell detect where you're clicking, transforming your sleek, one-button mouse into a two-button wonder. Pan images in iPhoto, view timelines in iMovie HD and Final Cut Pro, traverse bars in GarageBand and Logic Pro while sipping your morning cup of coffee or typing. Pre-programmed to launch Dashboard, Mighty Mouse's side buttons show you all your open windows in Expose with a squeeze. Mac OS X gives you the capability to choose any application from the intuitive System Preference pane.
Customer Reviews:
Good mouse, with some caveats..........2007-12-30
Overall, this is a pretty darned good mouse. It features excellent tracking, it is thankfully minimalistic (unlike many mice that have so many buttons it's nearly impossible to figure out how to use the bloody thing), and has that wonderful mini-trackball, which is the best possible way to navigate webpages or large displays (such as Photoshop). Bluetooth pairing with my iMac was a piece of cake, and mouse sensitivity and speed is excellent. Stylistically, it is a great looking mouse -- typical Jonathan Ives stuff.
On the downside, the biggest complaint I have about the mouse is that the right click function is slightly spotty for some reason (right-clicks register maybe 95% of the time), and the shape is not ergonomic (though not bad in the hand). I'd prefer an Apple ergonomic mouse with the same minimalist configuration.
So far, so good.......2007-12-28
This was a Christmas gift for my fiance. She has only been using it for couple of days, but she really likes it. From what I have seen of this product it seems like a really good product. I would recommend it to anyone with a Mac that is looking for a bluetooth mouse.
Apple Wireless Mouse.......2007-12-24
Pleasing design and well made, but lacks some of the sensitivity found in Logitech and Microsoft wireless mice.
Decent Mouse but way too Expensive........2007-12-23
The mouse is pretty good, and I've had no problems with it so far. I got it just for fun, as I normally use a Logitech VX Revolution with my Macbook Pro. The Wireless MM responds very well, and because it is laser, works on a variety of surfaces including my leg and the carpet. One thing that's a bit annoying is the squeeze buttons - they aren't very practical. Although I use it for showing off, you normally wouldn't use it because it requires you to reposition your hand in order to use it. Coming from the VX Revo., I'd like to see a back/forward button, but I guess that would detract from the simplicity of this mouse. The mouse can operate on a single AA battery, to lighten the load when traveling, although I don't think this makes a big difference. I've had it for about a month now and have not had a problem with the scroll ball getting dirty.
Mighty alright!.......2007-12-21
I really enjoy using this mouse! It performs as good as it looks. It has programmable functions and I think that's awesome. Loving the wireless!

grerat purchase.......2007-12-28
This mouse was a wonderful purchase! It is easy to use, small, and very responsive. I love it!!
Cordless Mouse.......2007-12-21
I've been using it for about a month. It installed instantly and has been working flawlessley. The batteries that came with it are still working and I have yet to shut the mouse off by placing the receiver on the bottom of it. Highly recommended.
Cordless mouse.......2007-12-21
The mouse works fine but makes a tinny click that is annoying. My wife now uses it.
Best mouse ever.......2007-12-20
I hope Logitech has the sense to never remove this product. I've been using this mouse for about 3 years now. I've tried many Cord and cordless mouses and this has by far been the best ever. It has the perfect balance between weight and size for me and many hands. Even my colleagues agree, that this model is the best. Smaller gets uncomfortable, lighter gives an uneasy grip etc.
I'll likely keep on bying this model for as long as it is on the market
A fine mouse.......2007-12-18
It works prefectly on my computer; I didn't detect any interference with my very nearby wireless router. But I do keep the mouse close to the USB receiver. A mouse pad is a must; on shiny or not too dull surfaces the mouse doesn't work properly.

Customer Reviews:
So much better than the ordinary mouse!.......2007-12-12
This is a perfect mouse for me. It's larger so your hand actually rests on the mouse (which is how it's supposed to fit by the way). The controls are in comfortable positions. For anyone who uses the mouse a lot - this is a truly ergonomic choice.
Rock Star Mouse.......2007-12-03
Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 5000 - Platinum (M03-00090)
Got here fast, worked out of the box after drivers, fits my large hand well. A rock star of a mouse.
A good product. IT ROCKS!!!.......2007-12-03
Bought the mouse as a replacement for another Microsoft-brand mouse. The "back" button is a nice feature. The mouse has a really natural feel to it. Personally.... it rocks!!!
nice.......2007-12-02
This product has a nice fit for your hands and great features. Battery life is not as great as expected. Overall a good value for your money.
It's built like my hand.......2007-11-24
Note: this is the same hardware as the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 which has been around for several years. I've had one of these for four years or so and have been very happy with it. Just recently the scroll wheel has developed a little resistance and the whole mouse has gotten a little "mucky" from so many years of use that I bought a Wireless Optical Mouse 5000 to replace it. As I said, the hardware is exactly the same, Microsoft model 1007.
Reading some of the reviews of this item made me laugh and reminded me that you always need to take customer product reviews with a grain or two of salt. (I'm sure this comes as no surprise.) Some users absolutely hated the very things that I really like. Okay, here are my observations:
1. It's pretty big. I'm an adult male and I guess I have fairly large hands. Ergonomically, it's the most comfortable mouse I've found. The side buttons are right above my thumb, the wheel is under the pad of my index finger and the left-right buttons are large. The body of the mouse is basically shaped like my right hand (Note to lefties: although MS says it's for either hand, due to it's curved shape and direction, I don't see how a lefty would be comfortable; also the thumb buttons would be useless). I tried to find a Logitech option but all of their many, many mouse models are small-ish. They make one mouse that is roughly the same shape (I think it's the MX600 laser) but it's smaller than the Microsoft mouse so that I have to keep my hand tensed over it, which gets uncomfortable. If I rest my palm on the body of the Logitech my finger tips are way beyond the buttons. With this MS mouse, I can rest my hand on it and not have to move my fingers/thumb around to find the buttons.
2. A bit heavier than most. Some people like really light-weight mice but I find if a mouse is too light, I can't rest my hand on it because the slightest flinch causes the cursor to go flying. This one is just heavy enough so that I have to consciously move it.
3. Scroll wheel is wide, textured, and doesn't "ratchet." It turns very smoothly and has just enough resistance so that the page you're viewing doesn't go flying by.
4. Programmable buttons give a lot of choices. I don't like the "magnify" function, so I have the thumb buttons programmed to page forward, page back. The scroll wheel button is a little awkward to depress, just like some others have observed, so I don't use it.
5. Pretty responsive for wireless. Just as LCD monitors don't have quite the same clarity as CRTs, wireless mice don't have quite the instantaneous response of wired mice. This is not to say there's any noticeable lag, just that it's maybe a fraction of a second slow. Still, from what I've seen and read, even some very costly laser mice have the same issue, and some of the wireless ones I've used are much worse. They are jumpy and erratic and often freeze-up. This one has never frozen on me and has rarely been erratic.

So far, so good.......2007-12-31
I purchased this product to use with my laptop when my laptop is plugged into my television. This way, I can watch movies from my laptop on the television or play computer games on the big screen.
I had a few moments of trouble setting up the mouse and keyboard, but quickly realized I had to first associate them with the base unit. Since then, everything has so far worked seamlessly and I'm quite happy.
Great set.......2007-12-29
The first time i received the keyboard, it was a wrong set. it was for Canadian/French set. i contact the company, they were very happy to send me a new one plus the fee sticker to ship back the old one.
The keyboard works great. Make sure there are nothing in the way of the receiver and the device or else you will loose connection during your usage.
It's compatible with Vista.
Excellent one .......2007-12-27
I got this for a good deal during thanks giving from amazon. It is really easy to use and ergonomic. But however the CD that came along with the product had some installation problems. I had to download the software from intelli software but that was easy again. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to live in a wireless world. :)
take care guys

Takes patience to use with Vista.......2007-12-26
I got this set for christmas and so far it has been a decent combo, although, getting it up and running in Vista Ultimate was a pain in the neck. Be sure to uninstall any previous keyboard/mouse drivers ahead of time or there are some conflicts that will prevent you from getting it installed right. I did manage to get it working, but whenever I restart my computer now I get an error code when windows boots.
Also, when I installed the drivers for the set, it made me uninstall Kensington MouseWorks which I use for my trackball which is unacceptable.
In all, you cant beat the price tag, but I would look somewhere else if your running Vista.
Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 4000 (3.0) Silver PS2/USB Mac/Win.......2007-12-25
I have found it to be slow to respond. Not all the hot keys deliver what they are they are supposed to. If I had this information prior to the purchase, I would not have bought it

Working great with Linux laptop (Ubuntu 7.10).......2007-12-28
Plugged it into my Ubuntu 7.10 laptop and it works with no problems at all.
You'll love this mouse...Very Comfortable!.......2007-12-28
I bought this for my husband...and he's had both Microsoft and Logitech before. Microsoft is his favorite, and it's a comfortable size and width for his wide hand (even though the mouse is fairly small.)
This mouse is aweasome !.......2007-12-26
I had this mouse for a year, and then it broke
Sensetivity is perfect !
Its pretty compact, its very hard to get use to another mouse after having this on for a long time :D
Microsoft Wireless Notebook Mouse 3000.......2007-12-24
This mouse in theory is a good mouse, problem is the shipper/vendot ships NO software with it to indicate which version of Microsoft it will work with. Mine is very sporadic, I got frustrated after doing all the downloads needed and just gave the laptop to my wife who doesn't use a mouse.
Disappointing.......2007-12-17
I've had a few other optical mice and this is the worst. Every time I use it, I need to press the re-set button at least once. The cost was cheap but it wasn't worth it. Next time I'll spend a little more for a good one.

Customer Reviews:
Im still using it till this second.......2007-12-16
this mouse is a must for anyone... people think that wireless is taking batteries,, not really i use my computer all the time and its my baby now.. i change batteries every 6 months Double AA... Great microsoft mouse great price amazon rocks
Nice but software bug.......2007-10-27
I bought two of these. They're good to handle, nice to use and look at, and a real step up from the wheel mice that we had before. They really do increase my productivity (i.e. my willingness to click), and it was good to throw out the mousepads. The BAD PART is a warning comes on the computers evey couple of days. It says something like "Warning -- Low SIgnal.: It happens on both the PCs, so it is obviously a glitch in the mouse software. I think it might have to do with dust or something in the mice.....no idea. It is disconceting.
VERY PLEASED.......2007-09-13
I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE PRODUCT I BOUGHT AND THE QUICKNESS THAT AMAZON GOT IT SHIPPED OUT. WOULD I USE AMAZON AGAIN? YES, THEY PROVIDE A GOOD SERVICE. BREEZY
Great mouse.......2007-09-10
I have been using the Microsoft wireless mouse for a few months and it is simply the best mouse I have ever used. It is very smooth and precise for my use (I don't play any games). I like it so much that I purchased the Microsoft wireless notebook mouse for my Sony notebook. It is important to buy the proper mouse for a desktop or a notebook because the desktop has a fairly large receiver that plugs into the USB port, while the notebook has a small receiver that plugs into the USB port.
Good stuff.......2007-08-12
I've had mine for about 3 years now and it's finally crapping out on me. That doesn't mean I don't like this product; far from it. In fact, for 3 years I have not had a single issue with this product except for when the batteries were low and needed to be replaced (every 6 months for me.) Using it daily, I would have to say you get your money's worth with this one.
