The Best Mouse Ever!.......2007-12-21
This isn't the first Logitech Trackman Wheel Optical that I have had. The first one I had for a long time, but it eventually went kaput like all mouse do. But it's so much better than a standard mouse, and better than the marble wheel type with the roller ball in the middle. This one has the roller ball in the thumb and is much more natural and easier to navigate than the other type. I will always recommend this type mouse over standard mice or any other kind!

Logitech USB/PS-2 Trackman Wheel Scroll Optical Mouse (904353-0403)
I love this mouse. I had the wireless one first but after dropping it on a very hard tile floor about 10 times (clumsy of me), it didn't work anymore. SO, I went to Amazon and ordered three of the wired ones. I'm afraid one day they'll discontinue this model and I want to be sure to have backups if the one in use dies. The thumb wheel is the greatest feature. No moving the mouse or the hand. Just place your hand on the mouse and the click buttons and the thumb wheel are right there.

I've been using one of these for quite a while now. I purchased 2 more, one for my laptop and the other for the laptop at work. All have given great service. Excellent ergonomics and as long as it's clean the motion is crisp and smooth.

The very best trackball I have ever owned. This is my second one, the other I wore out. Can't imagin going back to a mouse again. I've tried other trackballs, but this is the one for me. Way to go Lgitech!

I've been using the Logitech Trackman since about 2000 when wrist pain became an issue due to long work days. This is the first time I've had to replace one and it was just due to the clicking response becoming sluggish and sometimes non-responsive. But what can you expect for a 7-year old mouse?
This model with the wheel controlled by your thumb is the best for carpel tunnel issues. The ones with the ball in the center still irritate and strain the tendons and soft tissues in your wrist.
The only thing I wish Logitech would do is create another version of THIS mouse with a few extra buttons. They make it with the wheel in the center, but not for this one. Overall great mouse and recommended for anyone with wrist pain. This will help a lot.

A very good piece of hardware for the price it had in May. An original driver is not rich in options, but one can download Microsoft IntelliPoint software. It gives all the options of a 5-buttons mouse.
Least [costly] optical mouse I've seen.......2002-05-15
When I first saw this item listed on Amazon.com, I couldn't believe it. The price simply seems too good to be true-- and yet it *is* true. Works just like all the more [costly] optical mice I've seen, for less than half the price. Get 'em before they're sold out; I doubt you're going to see another deal like this anytime soon.
There are some things which need to be noted, however. As mentioned in another review, the drivers aren't very customizable, and the documentation is virtually nonexistent. In addition, this particular mouse only has a PS/2 connection, not USB, though you can easily find adapters if you absolutely need a USB connector.
With that in mind, though-- this gadget's VERY well worth the price!
Great Mouse, Even Better Price.......2000-12-23
I recently bought this mouse and I was very impressed. This mouse is an exceptional value! I have had no problems with the mouse so far. This is a 5 button mouse but I only use 3 of them... The function of the 2 side buttons is not very flexable in there function. Also this mouse does not come with very much documentation. That is no problem to me though. The scroll wheel scrolls very smoothly. Overall am happy with this mouse. It is just what I needed.

I've had this mouse roughly 5 years now (as of 2007) and have bought Logitech and other branded mice since. This is still the only mouse I haven't had a single problem with. It's survived 5 moves, 4 of which were rather abusive to it. I call it Tank and I feel this mouse is the single most under appreciated mouse ever manufactured. This mouse is defiantly on my personal "best hardware of the decade" list.

I've had my old Logitech mouse for more years than I can remember. In the past few weeks the wheel started acting up and I finally decided it was time to order a new mouse. This one looked a lot like the old one so I ordered it. I plugged it in and it worked right away. So far so good. The wheel worked great! Another plus. The pointer was true and the wire long enough to suit my needs. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven, but then the annoying clicking of the mouse brought me back around. click, click, click.... I decided I could get used to that over time. Then I realized that this mouse does not have one of the buttons the old one does. A simple push of that button and I'd go back a screen on the Internet. The new mouse has a round thing that looks like another button, but it doesn't do anything -- it's just decoration and a place to show the Logitech logo. I'm so disappointed to not have the "back" button any longer. I was so spoiled for years. I needed a new mouse and this one wasn't too expensive, so I'll keep it. Not altogether pleased with it though -- thus the "4" star rating.

Greatest mouse ever........2007-01-14
I love this mouse it is easy to use. You don't need a lot of desktop space to move it around like other mouse's because it stays stationary. Is very comfortable even when using the computer for hours on end. Once you get used to it I can use it faster and more efficiently than my old mouse. The only downside to this mouse is if you drop it enough the ball will pop out sometimes. But it's easy to put it back in so that's not really that big of a deal.
