Great Keyboard but still can be improved.......2007-12-27
I love the idea and design of the new G15, they complains about passing from 18 macro keys to 6, 12 whould be better.
Pros:
The design, the backlight, the LCD, all the custom applets you can add with LCDStudio. I love this thing.
Cons:
The backlight, if you use to sit a little far from it you just can see the buton half of the chars in the keys.
USB 1.1?, please do it right!, add an AC adapter to the keyboard and lets have 2.0 USB ports, pen drives, iPods will have a decent transfer rate this way.
Macro keys, 18 was too much and made the keyboard to big, 6 are too few, maybe enough for gaming but as the keyboard lac of many funtion keys, like calculator, web sites and stuff, 6 keys aren't enough to complete the usefull set of keys we need, 12 macro keys would do it better.
The stand, if the 2 little feet at the botom could be longer so the keyboard has more angle, would be great.
But I still love this thing.

I won't repeat the items in other reviews but I am happy with the keyboard. One thing I would like to specifically mention is that you can assign the "G" keys to "Functions..." such as opening Media Player, Calculator, e-mail, My Computer, and Internet Explorer. You can also assing keys to "Shortcuts" which means you can have a keystroke do ANYTHING you can do with a shortcut (open a folder, run a program, etc.)
I don't think there is a keyboard yet that allows you to change the backlight color but that would be great. It would also be nice if there was an optional power supply to allow the USB ports to be powered so you could plug in non-powered devices such as Passport External Hard Drive. The USB ports work fine for thumb drives and devices with their own power supply though.

I have had this board for about 3 weeks now and I had my last one for 6 years. I never thought it was worth the money to get a keyboard so I just kept my old one till it was just having some conflicts.
I am glad I waited to get this board and not the old G15 because I want one that fits and looks like a regular keyboard. The Display is so usefull, I like the hardware monitor andthe count down timer is so handy. Also the media player is great.
While in a game or while waiting for the computer to do something I can view the performance information and it will show me what the computer is doing, or if its stuck.
IT WILL SHOW A SEPARATE BAR FOR EACH CORE, I HAVE A QUAD CORE AND ITS NICE TO SEE WHICH PROGRAMS USE ALL 4 CORES AND WHICH ONES DON'T.
I tried the program buttons and it was very easy, I just don't need them but if you like hot keys they make it so easy. I made one for creating new folders and now I just press one button and... wham!, a new folder. Simple I know but thats what this board is all about.
Best Feature: Lighted keys, ALL KEYS. There is a light adjustment button as well.
MYTH: volume keys are great even though some people here make it sound like they are cheap. They are not cheap and work very well, however its not a dial.... you choose.
BAD: 2 USB ports, however they aren't good for anything that needs the usual USB power.
Bottom Line: Great Board, feels nice and has full size keys that "click" like a desktop not a laptop. Very durable and I don't expect the keys to wipe off because they are etched. Should last another 6 years.

just got to try this mouse out and its... sweet... thing glides like its on a well oiled machine... the weights handle nice... plus the scroller makes photoshop seem likes its on turbo... especially when you zoom... (alt + scroll)

This is probly the uglest mouse I have ever owned... having said that I have nothing else bad to say about this mouse.
The speed changing is nice on the fly
The weights are amazing
Both grips are perfect for me (I wear Medium to Large work gloves)
The glide is just perfect on the mouse.
I suppose I would like to see a grip that moves the thumb buttons back about 1/4" but when fingertipping it's not an issue (and that's how I play FPSs any way). When playing RTSs I don't use the thumb buttons so I'm not sure it's even an issue.
Overall a very solid mouse whether for games or artists or even just a normal user.

BEST GAMING KEYBOARD .......2007-12-28
Prose: This is the best gaming keyboard I've ever used. It gives you stats on the game you are playing and it offers many different functions other keyboards do not. I play BattleField 2142 on this and it works and feels great. It also offers 2 extra USB plugs behind the LED screen.
Cons: It is kind of pricy and it takes up a lot of space. The LED does not work for every game out there, only the newer games.

As a keyboard I have been very happy with it. I used to play WOW and other computer games but I never really needed to use the hotkeys I set up (though it was easy to set up). I mostly use the keyboard for typing and multimedia.
The controls are nice and the LCD shows what you are listening to. I am the kind of guy who likes the new gadget. (I got an ipod touch recently).

-Big con - Paint wears off. This is a common problem after a good month or more of use. This is not a deal breaker but it certainly is the reason that I won't give it 5 stars. Although, if you are unhappy with the keyboard, Amazon is awesome at returns.

Bought this for my husband who is a little geeky. He absolutely loves it. He was pleasantly surprised at the tracking of the LED screen. While in-game it scrolls through team & individual stats & other vital information. He said it's like having a much smaller monitor that constantly tracks & displays important information. Of course, don't forget the easy to program macro keys.

First and foremost, this is a phenomenal keyborad. It is extremely well made, esthetically pleasing (though maybe a bit big for some)and oh so usefull.
It has 18 macro buttons on the left side, and each of them can be programmed with up to 3 different commands.
The keys are spaced slightly further apart than regular keyboards which makes it great for gaming, though it will take a few minutes to get used to for typing at first.
It has a switch that allows you to shut off the widows buttons, so when your gaming you don't accidentally depress them in the heat of battle and minimize your game in the process.
The Play/Stop FF/RW buttons are quite usefull, but the volume wheel is even more so.
But the best feature is the screen. Yes I know, it seems like it's just a gimmick, but it's far from it. It displays a plethora of info for many games that you would usually have to push a button to see and forfeit seeing the action. It also shows time, system load, email... etc. etc.
I like to say that the screen is something that you definitely do NOT need, but once you have it and used it, you will never want a keyboard without it.
All in all this is a great keyboard. It's specialized for gaming, but is very suited for anykind of use.
If you have the chance, grab this version of the board, as the newer G15 looses some of it's appeal with a smaller screen, less macro buttons and buttons for volume rather than a wheel (which does make quite a difference).
Who cares that the color of the backlights is changeable on the new one, if you can't see all the info on the screen at a quick glance, for example.
