This keyboard is incredible! It's Very sleek, and stylish, and my wife loves it for our new Mac Mini! Wireless and with more functions and options than even Apple's own new aluminum keyboards and Mighty Mouse, this will impress friends and family much more than what Apple offers currently. The ONLY reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because at the time of writing, the packaged software that allows for function customization and such gives an error message that the customization program won't work on an Intel based Mac.

Great Keyboard... for the price........2007-12-27
The keyboard is what you would expect for it's price as a duo; cheap-feeling plastic keys and too many hot-keys for applications like iPhoto, Safari, and iTunes that you probably will never use. The mouse on the other hand, feels great and is very accurate.
While the keys feel a bit light and cheap (kind of like laptop keys), the construction of the keyboard is very well done and can take a bit of pressure if you apply it.
I've had problems with the setup randomly unpairing with the USB dongle and I don't know if that's a problem or if it's due to me not having the software installed. Yes, things work fine without the Logitech software installed and I recommend not installing it because it can cause problems with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
Not having the software installed renders the application buttons useless. If they mean a lot to you but don't want to deal the the buggy LCC, you can use a third-party software solution like USBOverdrive.
If you need a cheap replacement, you could save even more money by getting a standard wireless keyboard and mouse set (yeah, I know, it would have the Windows logo on it). They work well and can be as functional as this set. If you want a solid keyboard and mouse set that is just for your mac, I think Apple is, so far, the best offering even though the keyboard alone is more.

This is an excellent product. It was very easy to "install" - really nothing more complicated than inserting batteries (included) and pressing a connect button on the mouse and keyboard. They are both very comfortable and intuitive. I had been using Mac's cordless keyboard and mouse but find that these are much nicer - especially since I use a PC at work and it makes transitioning at home to my Mac feel more seemless.

The keyboard and mouse are great. It is very important to download the latest software from Logitech. That's why I can give 5 stars. With the old software you couldn't plug and unplug and have the keyboard or mouse work correctly. That all appears fixed now.
I have always loved Logitech mice so when I got my first Mac it was great to see I didn't have to get the Apple branded mouse and keyboard (one mouse button!?).
The keyboard is very flat and has a nice wrist rest while not taking up too much room like some of the newer keyboards. There are a bunch of nice programmable buttons I use occasionally.
The mouse is very nice. It's pretty comfortable and I think it would be good for many different hand sizes. The additional buttons get a lot of use.
The wireless connection works pretty well and the range is as great as I'd ever need.
Lastly, both items look pretty slick. I only wish they came in black because I have a black macbook but I've gotten used to the white and silver.

I like the ergnomics of this keyboard and the the quiet typng, but as you can prbably see, there is a serious problem with skipped letters. I can hardly write a single sentence without an issue. I think it's gotten to the point where I need to retur the item and maybe try a different brand.
Keyboard -- nice, Mouse -- yuck!.......2007-12-27
I've had this keyboard/mouse pair for some time now, and I've always thought I was just killing the batteries, or I just couldn't click to save my life. Turns out I'm not the only one that can't make the mouse click half the time! The keyboard is nice enough, but the mouse stinks. Left-clicks (the normal click) are lost quite often, as if the hardware just isn't registering the mouse. I'd say I have a defective unit, but google it a little and you'll see I'm not the only one. Many people have problems getting this mouse to register left-mouse clicks. And a mouse that doesn't click is as useful as ... um... might be the most useless thing I can think of.
Don't waste your time with the unit, buy something else.
Grrr... just had to click on "Edit" 7 times to get mouse to register my attempt to edit my own post!

This item sucks. The mouse especially. It will randomly quit responding to mouse clicks. I can move the mouse, and hover over an item, I can click it. But nothing happens. But, leaving the pointer in place, I can click on the touch pad on my laptop and it will work. The keyboard (just like now while I'm writing this review) will randomly "drop letters" so even though I hit the key, the letter won't show up on the screen as I'm typing. So, I'll have to back up, retype what I'm typing and then go forward. Sometimes, even that doesn't work. Sometimes, I'll keep hitting the key and it just doesn't make any difference. Then, I'll have to hit the sync button on the receiver and hit the little connect button on the bottom of my keyboard, and it'll start working again. I've read online where I'm not the only person having this problem. But, there seems to be no solution to it.
So, would I recommend this product? No, I have to go buy a new keyboard and mouse because this is just getting so frustrating.

Won't Work Beyond 6 Feet.......2007-12-18
I bought this keyboard to use with my home theater pc. At first I thought it didn't work at all then, by chance, I was using it standing near the PC and it worked. After calling tech support I confirmed that this uses the 27 MHz band which gives you a max distance from the receiver of 6 feet.
I carefully searched the product info on the logitech web site and nowhere does it mention this limitation
It's one thing to sell a product that has a certain limitation. It's another thing all together to do so without telling you about it.

I took a chance and purchased this product with no review available. And, I love it! Keyboard is light, keys on the keyboard are spaced slightly so there is no accidental hitting of the wrong key, and mouse is comfortable. I would 100% recommend.

I just bought this mouse on sale even after reading all the terrible reviews of Mac users.
It seems that Logitech finally got its act together because it works fine with Leopard! No problem so far. The new Logitech Control Center works fine, and I can configure the mouse (ie: every button) just fine. I didn't experience any kernel panic like other people have reported. If this changes, I'll post updates, but so far, so good!
The ergonomics are good, and the scroll wheel is ultra smooth, which I totally dig.

I replaced a mx700 with this. There is no comparison. This thing skips, lags, jumps and insists on making my life miserable. Chances are it will do the same for you. I have always been a fan on Logitech but this has kind of soured me on Logitech because any company that would allow this out on the market can not have a whole lot of concern for their customers or their reputation.

I bought this mouse to replace a 2 year old, $20.00 Microsoft corded mouse. There was nothing wrong with my corded mouse, I just wanted to go wireless. While it was fairly comfortable, I found it to be a bit jumpy when moving the cursor. The overall construction felt cheap and "creaky" during use. The final straw came when the stick-on feet started coming loose after only a day. I knew it was only a matter of time before they came off completely and I would be out the $60.00 I paid. I returned it and got my money back. Look elsewhere...
Good Mouse - Bad software.......2007-10-30
Using OS X and Logitech's driver. The mouse feels comfortable, scrolls easily and I like the wireless aspect. However, the Logitech software (most recent is 2.3.1) is terrible. Lag of 30 seconds or so occurs when "waking" the mouse from an automatic shut-down due to inactivity before the computer responds.
As an alternative, I reverted to the previous driver 2.2.2. While the lag somewhat disappears, there remains functional problems with the software. My alternative is to use a 3rd party driver such as Steer Mouse or USB Overdrive, which adds to the cost of the product.
BTW, Logitech support is abysmal.

As ususal, being a Microsoft product the Desktop 6000 is good. Also as usual I find that I am paying a premium for the Microsoft brand. One of my fellow office workers bought a similar product by another company and got essentially the same features for about 15% less.
Time will tell if the Microsoft product will outlast the off-brand...
Nice keyboard but awful software.......2007-11-10
I used this keyboard/mouse combo for 10 days before I returned it. I really liked the keyboard because they position and feel of the keys was very natural to me. Typing was very easy. The only thing I found physically wrong with the keyboard was the dedicated volume keys that required some hard pressing to work. The other keys worked with little effort.
What I really disliked about this keyboard was the software and basic hard-wired programming. When I buy specialty keyboards often I don't install the software supplied with the keyboard because I just want a basic typing experience -- I don't need the fancy keys. However, this time I installed the software according to instructions, plugged in receiver, keyboard and mouse and began using it. Everything was going fine until day 3 when I started doing some things with function keys that I hadn't the need for during the first 2 days. I was using Windows Explorer and I pressed F2 to edit the name of a file but nothing happened. I thought something was wrong with the key but it wasn't. If I was in Microsoft Word, F2 would attempt to open a file. When I used Firefox or IE and pressed F6 to access the address bar to type in a new site to visit, the window would instantly close. What I discovered is that the software that came with the keyboard completely reprogrammed all the function keys to perform a non-standard function.
I accessed the software settings to see if I could change the function keys back to the same functions that they keys have had since at least Windows 95, but guess what? No such luck. The software listed all kinds of functions that I could assign to each function key, but nowhere in the list were the basic functions that had always been used for those function keys (F2, F5, F6, etc). This stunned me. There is no reason to remove the ability to have the basic function keys perform their expected functions.
What was worse than that, when I loaded the software onto my laptop so that I could use this keyboard setup with the laptop at a desk, the software co-opted the basic functions of the laptop's built-in keyboard so that I couldn't use the Fn key combination. If I attempted to use Fn+DN ARRW, instead of the laptop screen dimming it would start Windows Messenger. There was no option to set this to happen nor to remove it. If I attempted to use the Fn+F8 combo to flip the display between the CRT, laptop or null, the display would go nuts and start scrolling everything around. Of course, it wouldn't toggle the display at all.
I became so thoroughly annoyed with the software and Microsoft's unreasonable demands that I just removed the software a few days later and anticipated just using the keyboard's standard keys. Guess what? If you remove the software, ALL the function keys are disabled. NONE works in the standard way. This is absolutely crazy and beyond annoying. I returned the keyboard and will be getting another Logitech keyboard, which is where I should have gone in the first place.
Avoid this keyboard because: (1) software and (2) totalitarianism.
Also, I paid way too much for this keyboard because I found it available at different places online with 1/3 of what I paid.

Microsoft's competition has succeeded in infiltrating their hardware products division. I say this without fear of contradiction because it is the only plausible explanation for how Microsoft allowed a single Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 to have escaped immediate and summary incineration. A troupe of rabid baboons would not have let a single unit of this dross past the first QA check.
Why spew invective?
Because I purchased two of these jaw-droppingly subpar pieces of junk at the same time (one to use at the office, one to use at home) only to discover the hard way that seeing "Microsoft" on the box means bupkis.
The second keyboard I bought.......2007-08-23
This is the second keyboard i bought. It's exactly the same one I bought for my other computer. Both of them are used on iMac computers. While I had absolutely no problems with my first keyboard, I did have some problems with the second one. First of all, when I installed the software, I could not get the CD-ROM out of iMac and the computer become unresponsive completely with the CD-ROm inside. And when I finally got it out thanks to apple service representative's help then i noticed the keyboard skips some letters when typing fast.

I've owned this for a year and am looking for a new keyboard. I have continual connection problems with mouse and keyboard and continually have to reset. Low battery warnings appear every day. This is the best keyboard I've ever had, but I did experience the same problem as others have noted with the spacebar. However, one call to Microsoft and they immediately sent me a replacement! I did not realize there is a 3 year warranty on these! They asked no other questions and I did not even have to return the old one. I am very happy with the replacement and with Microsoft!

Bad design.......2007-09-23
I had this keyboard for about 8 months and then the space bar started to become less responsive. The only way it would work was to hit it right in the middle of the key. Shortly later the metal clip became lose and come off. I tried to reinstall it however it is really difficult and when reinstalled does not work close to the same. It is basicly unuseable now. this keyboard is WAY over priced for such a lousy quality. Don't buy it.
Nice Design But Very Poor Reliability.......2007-07-03
When it works, you'll love this keyboard. It just doesn't work very often. sometimes the response from the keyboard is so bad, only every 4th or 5th keystroke will register. The mouse will just stop working or only pick up one click out of 10. It's a constant cycle of changing the channel to refresh the connection or rebooting the PC to re-load the software. I've tried moving the receiver all over the place but with no effect. In the exact same office setup and configuration I tried a Creative Labs and a Logitech wireless keyboard / mouse and had NO problems. The bottom line is that Microsoft has put out yet another unreliable product. The time it takes to make the product work makes this a complete waste of money.

Interesting how the Microsoft Laser 6000 Keyboard and Mouse scores such mediocre reviews here on Amazon but earns nothing but raves at Tiger Direct. Sorry Amazon buyers, you must have your eyes closed. This is an extraordinarily well designed product that not only assists the wrists and eliminates wires ... my whole PC runs better, faster and smoother. No idea why. But I'm not going to argue. My only complaint is the lack of contrast between the color of the keys and the surrounding keyboard. Not a big deal. Take a chance and buy this. Once your hands and eyes adjust to the curved keyboard, you'll be in input heaven.

Although the keyboard is user friendly I constantly lose connectivity from both the keyboard and the mouse causing nothing but frustration!!! The box says up to 30 feet however the keyboard and mouse are only about 2 feet from the USB connection.

Great design, love the slim keyboard and mouse feels great. I planned to use this as my media center setup because of the 30 ft range, but let me tell you 3 inches is not enough to ensure a stable link and reliable performance. After failing to perform on my laptop 6 ft away with direct LOS, I moved to a PC instead with the sensor 2 feet away, and had exact same issues. These include the mouse that simply refuses most of the time to double click, or single click, or move smoothly. I'm a PC tech, so all standard troubleshooting was done. Deal breaker, it is going back to the store. Pitty, because I REALLY like the keyboard and mouse design... but come on, if it is going to be wireless please make it work as such.

Everything started fine; the keyboard has a luxurious feel and plenty of extra programmable buttons and the set-up was stunningly simple, really plug and play into a PC which had no wired keyboard attached when I did the set up... I just plugged in the USB device, booted up the computer and everything was well...or so I thought:
I actually purchased 2 of these for 2 separate PCs and had exactly the same issues on both; the first is that the transmitter has to be very close to the mouse/keyboard to operate at all. I had planned to plug it into a USB on the back of my computer which sits under my desk, in the end I had to get a USB extension cable and run it up next to my monitor some10 inches from the mouse with no obstructions. Then everything works fine except the left mouse button which, as another reviewer reports) you have to click multiple times to get any response and double-clicking becomes a lost art, in desperation I end up right clicking and selecting the file open option.
Tech support was totally useless and kept telling me to change the batteries (now why didn't I think of that....oh wait, I did...and I kept telling them that I did).
It's a pity because I like the unit otherwise, but I am going to have to buy another as it is just too frustrating to use.

I've tried multiple sets of brand new batteries, repositioning the PC in relation to the keyboard and mouse, moving the USB transmitter - all to no avail.
No matter what I've tried productivity is seriously affected by slow or no response from the mouse. I bought this to replace a wireless set I had that plugged into the mouse and keyword ports. It worked great until I just wore it out.
I wanted the padded keyboard and like the shape of this mouse. If only I could get it to work accurately and consistently.

I bought this mouse for the advertised features and used it for a full day at work. It's just an ordinary piece of equipment and there is nothing exceptional about it. I am not sure what they mean by 20X more tracking power, there is really no difference between this and an ordinary optical mouse. The scroll wheel sticks on the one I bought making it annoying and the scroll up and down buttons are really in an awkward place. There is no right/left scroll capability that you see even in a cheap $10 Microsoft mouse.
The fact that it is RF and no line-of-sight is required, is probably the one and only feature I liked about this mouse.

Terrific Little Speaker with Clear, Strong Sound.......2007-09-07
After reading several dozen consumer reviews describing laptop speakers I puchased this one. You simply plug it into your laptop, or USB hub, swivel the gooseneck to position the speaker where you want, and you've got an excellent speaker that fits in a small laptop utility bag.
The only complaint I have is that there is no quick volume control; once you've plugged it into your USB port, it overrides the laptop's volume control "knob". You have to open the volume icon in your Control Panel every time you want to adjust the speaker volume, which can be too slow when you're being blasted by a loud video.
This is not to say that there is anything wrong with the volume modulation in the speaker itself, just that there seems to be a wide volume range across items I view--YouTube, email messages with videos from friends, etc.
If this speaker had a volume control knob it would be perfect!
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DELL LAPTOPS.......2007-09-02
After several weeks of light, mid-volume use, the speaker stopped working on my Dell Latitude D500 and I began receiving error messages noting a "device malfunction". After trading emails with J-Lab customer service, I was instructed to return the speaker by mail (at my expense) for a refund. The refund I received was 80% of the original purchase price because, according to J-Lab, the device was still "working" upon receipt. The representative handling the return acknowledged that there has, in fact, been a history of compatibility issues with Dell laptops-- in other words, a "working" speaker may not always operate correctly when connected to a Dell laptop. Is trying this speaker on your Dell worth the risk of paying two sets of shipping charges, losing 20% of the purchase price, and spending time emailing representatives and repacking/mailing the device? If not, maybe it's worth considering alternatives.
Are we listening to the same speakers?.......2007-08-08
We bought this speaker for our Gateway M505 Media Laptop on a recent trip. The M505 has reasonable speakers for a laptop, but their volume level isn't quite strong enough for us to be happy--we'd always find ourselves straining to hear dialogue from movies.
From reading the reviews I honestly thought this would solve our problem in a nifty self-contained USB-powered fashion.
For us it didn't.
We found the speakers to be nearly identical to the M505 speakers, and while the B-Flex did give us the tiniest improvement in volume, it wasn't enough to really give us adequate volume, or the "big sound" many reviewers have mentioned. Also, there is no way a speaker the size of these can give the kind of frequency response any level of audiophile would be happy with.
So, who should try out this speaker? If you have standard tinny sounding laptop speakers (the almost nonexistent kind), these will be a big improvement. Also you will like the fact that it is USB powered so no batteries, no cords are needed.
However, having said that, I really think the bottom line is, to get truly better sound, you need to use a powered speaker. I think some of the JBL's may be the way to go.
For cost of these guys, unless you catch them on sale, my advice is to keep looking. We had to return ours. (Thanks to Amazon a really fair & generous return policy).

My boyfriend bought me this speaker. It is plug-and-play. On my computer, often movies are not loud enough for some reason and with this speaker it's as loud as we could possibly want. Also I can blast my music throughout the house from my laptop - before I could not because it sounded horrible at high volumes.
I'm not much of a sound expert, but I think it sounds pretty good.

Love this laptop speakers!! My laptop speakers suck so much that this little guy just gives me the wonderful sound my laptop deserves!! I highly recommend it!!
