Terrible Durability, Four Dead Headsets.......2007-12-17
I am an adult and careful with my stuff but still I have been through four wireless headsets and all had the same problem, after a month or two they just won't charge anymore. The store keeps replacing them and they tell me it is an extremely common problem. It's really too bad because the headset is comfortable, the sound quality is excellent both ways but they just abruptly die. Microsoft used to have a reputation for excellent hardware but with the 360 era their reputation is taking a beating.

i have owned several headsets and this is by far the best it is comfortable and the sound is clear both in and out the only thing that concerned me was that you have to have your xbox on to charge it which i do not think can be good for the xbox to be on for so long and i didnt want to have my xbox on while i was at work to charge the headset so that i could play when i got off so i plug mine into my computer and it charges great so i recommend doing this its a great headset i strongly recommend it

This headset was alright when it was working, but never really blew my socks off. The limited range and disconnection problems cancel out the wireless advantage, and to me it's not as comfortable on the ears as the default headset. Then last night, after roughly one month of use it suddenly stopped taking a charge at all, and the battery has now died, for good most likely. It could be the cable, but now after reading up on it, it sounds like this problem is not at all uncommon. I will definitely be switching back to the wired headset, I never had any problems with it until my cat chewed the cable.

This headset is perfect, and if you have the xbox 360 halo edition, you have more reasons to buy it.
It have much more quality than the wired headset that comes with the console, I can even go to the bathroom wearing it, and never stop talking (some people complain about the pee noise)

The Xbox 360 Wireless Heaset is a great accessory for people who wish to speak over Xbox Live. I recently lost my headset and needed a replacement. The Wireless version seemed to fit the bill. I picked it up and really enjoy it. The coolest feature is the fact that there are no wires. This is much easier to use compared to the one with wires and I no longer have to worry about getting it tangled up. The audio quality is as good as the wired version. The wireless headset charges through a cable like your controller. One thing people might have a problem with is it fitting on your ear. Although it fits mine nicely, I could easily see people with small/large ears not being able to use this. Overall I'd highly recommend this if you're sick of cords or you need a replacement to your regulard headset.

The Xbox 360 Wireless Headset communicator is a peice of garbage. Do not buy it. My headset died in a couple weeks and now I cannot get a refund. For anyone out there looking for headsets, stick with the 12 dollar ones that is supplied with your Xbox. I am extremely disapointed.

Last year, right before christmas my husband was playing online all the time and the wire of this headphone set kept getting in the way of his playing. He saw an add in a magazine and showed it to me. I surprised him by getting it for him as a christmas present. My husband rarely gets excited, but he loved this. He uses it all the time. I think it comes with two different ear pieces to fit small ears and larger ears. He's been using it for almost a year now and it's still great.

I am not much of a gadget gal. I bought this product because my physical therapist said I have a tendency to tilt my head to the right (and I have a herniated neck disk)and asked if I do a lot of talking with the phone between my ear and shoulder while working on other things at my desk. She pretty much described my work position. I researched many headsets and decided on this one. I absolutely LOVE it and it has become one of those gadgets that you can't figure out how you survived without it. It has great clarity in both the microphone and in the earpiece. I got it with the handset lever and have to say that this thing is a MUST.
It was easy to set up and requires very little, if any, fussing with. I highly recommend it!

I bought this headset as a busy office manager/legal secretary/receptionist to a law firm. Before this headset I was glued to my desk, and got incredible headsets from holding the phone with my neck/shoulder while my boss dictated pleadings and letters to me over the phone. Additionally clients would ask me questions and I would have to put them on hold while I pulled their file - no more! I can even walk across the hall and be in another person's office and still get crystal clear reception. The lifter is also a must have because with the exception of pressing a button on your headset to answer the phone you hardly ever touch your actual phone - truly exceptional product!

Let's be clear: I have no complaints whatsoever about the CS70. Works perfectly, easy to connect / set-up, and great sound quality. The headset is very comfortable, and the range is excellent.
Only complaint: the way Amazon packages the HL10 lifter. I order the package (CS70 w/ HL10) and wound up with 2 HL-10 lifters. Seriously, this could not have been more confusing.

This is such a great headset. The headset lifter is a must (which is included in this listing). The headset is very comfortable (I've left the building with it on a few times), and people can hear me well and I can hear them great. Answering the phone and hanging up are fantastic, just a push of the button on the side and the handset lifts or drops.
The range isn't the longest, but it is good, and it beeps in your ear as you get out of range.
This is as good as it gets, don't consider any other!

The product works great. I am pleased with the sound and the transmission distance from my phone. I can work around the office, multi task and take care of business on the phone. The product was confusing to purchase. You have the system picture and you call it bundle purchase. Below this you have the lifter. I clicked on the lifter also because I think that is how the bundle works if you purchase it also. When I receive the shipment, the lifter is a separte purchase (this is not clear) from the bundle offer. Now it is a hastle to send it back and get my refund. Money is taken out of the original price for shipping (I paid my own shipping and used my sources). So what I originally purchase is credited less money. All because the store is not marketed so it is easy to understand.

Our office staff absolutley loves these! We are on the phone the entire day and use these to the max. The CS55 with the lifter makes my job a lot easier beacause it allows me to walk around the entire office without any interferance. The battery lasts all day as well. The headset is lightweight and really comfortable. I also bought one for home so I can talk and continue working with my hands.

This headset has very good sound quality, and is somewhat comfortable to wear. My only complaint is the difficulty setting the microphone volume so that the people you are speaking to can hear you loud enough without me hearing a very distracting echo in my ear. I have had this unit for about 4 weeks now and I still find myself messing with the volume control daily.

Installation was easy, I got it hooked up on my TV's sound OUTPUT plugs. Left and Right channels work great. In Call of Duty 4, I can easily hear things that I never heard before, especially foot-steps!! Now I know why COD4 has a perk skill to eliminate sound of foot-steps and equipment rattle. Although I intended to use it only for night time, I got used to hearing the extra sounds that I would not normally hear. I have a Sony surround sound system, and I would I have to blast it to hear those kind of details. But with these headphones, No Problem. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to enjoy and take advantage of all the sound effects the game has to offer. Since its hooked up to my TV output, I can switch to PS3, Wii, and cable and still get the same benefit of having excellent sound. I rarely use my surround sound anymore except when watching movies with the family. I hope this review helps. My whole xbox live clan is buying one, this would definetly give us an edge. With the people having trouble with listening to others, read the instruction, you can adjust game sound and team chat, I got no problem in hearing others, also since you can hear yourself speak, you;re no screaming, infact Im talking in normal voice and people hear me clearly.

these work great in multiplayer matches. It helps with my night long halo sessions. It's super cumftorbale and light. My one problem is that when doing a privet chat and playing single player it is hard to hear the person I am talking to. The game sound is just to loud. But over all it is a good buy.

My first EarForce X2 didn't work-- the connection to the mic input on the controller is flimsy (they call it "lightweight" in the documentation).
I returned it and got another. This time the connection worked, but even at max volume, it was about 1/5 as loud as my standard XBox Live Headset. Nobody online could hear me unless they cranked their volume way up.
The instructions say to try removing the windscreen, turning the mic in other directions, and so on. That got me up to about 1/4 my standard volume.
I guess if you aren't going to be using the mic, these are decent.

The rating should be below zero, here is why:
1. Sound quality? The amount of noise generated is amazing in comparison to wired headset and wireless headphones (both non-microsoft) I've compared it with. If fact, noise seems to be the only clearly audible sound.
2. No MIC ON/OFF switch - SIC!
3. I've had troubles to make it working - it started working after installation of MS LIVE Messanger - what if I don't want to have it installed?
4. Ergonomy - It does not exists. Too many wires as for "wireless" product. It took only a few minutes to make me tired just wearing it - even if I'm used to various ear-mounted phones (wired and wireless).
5. I've asked my freind to try it - hoping that at least she will enjoy it. Do not do this to your friends unless you want to have enemies.

Unlike some of the other people im not disappointed at all, i paid $4 for mine because i know how to shop. The sound is good and it says the range is only 30 feet. I am just estimating, but i would say up to 30 for clear, up to 50 for a conversation, and any farther gets chppy. works perfect for music, especailly at night. throw on WMP or something and use my mouse to change songs and everything from 8 feet away. Wireless mouse with programable buttons, perfect set up. The sound on it is really good too. If i can choose between listening to this and my ipod, i choose this.

I was looking to replace a USB sound card I use for gaming chat, and saw this on the shelf. I took it home and had a terrible time trying to get the software to install (I downloaded it rather than using the CD it came with to make sure I had the latest version). I finally had to give up because Microsoft's installer barely functioned with Vista, and it never did complete.
Once I got it up and running, I logged on to our Ventrilo server, where I was immediately told how awful my voice sounded (subpar AM radio quality was the description). I heard myself through their connections and realized it was awful. After a few searches I discovered it wasn't just mine - almost everything I read that wasn't a sales pitch said how crappy it was.
Don't waste your money on this piece of junk!

I have a Plantronics Explorer 510 Blue Tooth headset, and I really like. (See my review). But I don't always remember to keep it charged, so I run out of battery before I run out of "talkery!"
I was chatting online with a Plantronics customer support specialist who suggested that rather than buying a car charger, why not buy a wired set as a backup? GREAT idea!
The Plantronics MX256-X1* is a SUPERB piece - EXCELLENT sound quality on both ends of the call, with ONE TOUCH Answer/End call if your phone is so-equipped (e.g. Sprint's Voice Command) It WEIGHS LESS than its wireless counterparts, and is VERY comfortable to wear for extended periods: This unit features a SOFT silicone "clip" that attaches to the backside of your ear, not over the top. This means that it won't interfere with your glasses like the vast majority of Blue Tooth devices!

I own this product and have used it for 1 month. Product finish and quality is good. I bought it to use with our home phone with 2.5mm plug jack. For the headset user the sound is very good. For the other person the headset user's voice is too far away - but still audible. (They always can tell when you are using it). No way to adjust mic or headset volume.

When this product works for me, it is very good. The sound quality is good and I am well heard by people on the other end of the line. The range is also excellent. My one complaint and it is major is that the phone does not pick up when I press the call receive button on the headset. It frequently beeps or does not respond and sometimes picks up well after I have begun using my hand held. So I would not recommend this product for that reason alone.

Mine needed to be paired with charger even though they are supposed to arrive already paired. This created some stress and difficulty setting up. Then I forgot to use a DSL filter so the static was terrible. After I solved that problem, the unit worked great and I depend on it for all my calls now. I did place a container of water next to the base unit to absorb excess radiation. Headset stays off until needed. Great reception on all the settings it came with and great sound on earpiece and mic. Many ear options. Another plantronics winner. Highly recommended.

If Call Waiting matters to you...
I bought this and used it for a couple of hours before realizing that it did not support Call Waiting AT ALL (unless you consider hanging up on your current call acceptable). The omission of such a commonplace phone system feature should have been stated up front - it was not. The "workaround" suggested by the Plantronics support staff is simply absurd and involves a five step process to "flash" over to the incoming call. As conveyed by the Plantronics support personnel:
1. Pick up your phone / press Talk on your phone
Note: The step above may require a short sprint if you don't carry your phone around with you.
2. Hang up the headset (this is NOT OPTIONAL, see below)
3. Flash over to the incoming call using your phone's Flash/Talk button
You are now talking to your new party on your PHONE
4. Click the headset button to turn the headset back on
5. Hang up your phone.
You must repeat steps 1 - 5 to return to your original call. The Plantronics web site FAQ states the following:

Can I switch between calls ("Flash" feature) using the headset?
If the user is on a call using the headset and receives another incoming all, pressing the headset button will simply hang up the current call but will not transfer to the new incoming call.
*Important note: The "Flash" feature is deactivated when the CS55H headset is turned on. In other words, if the user turns the phone back on during an incoming call in order to view incoming Caller ID, pressing the "Flash" button on the handset will not switch to the other call.

That said, the call quality and range of the headset was excellent and if call waiting/switching between calls is not important to you then you'll probably be very happy with it.

Gave it to my mom for Xmas and she loves it. She can go anywhere in the house or yard and have her hands free. It also keeps her ears from getting sore when a long winded friend calls.

I need a wireless headset that would work with a standard phone, but not take up my entire desktop and not interfere with my wireless network. This phone is the answer. It operates on 1.9 GHz so there is NO network interference and it has a very small footprint on my desktop.
The sound quality is outstanding and the comfort good enough to wear all day (which I do). You have to dial from your phone or PC (as I do) then pick up the phone with the button on the headset (works very smooth). The mic and ear phone volume are adjustable, but the standard setting work very well.
I have been using it everyday (workday) for about 3 months and have not seen any drop off in the quality. If I have any knock on the product, it is range. My home office is at one end of my home and I can't walk throughout my entire house. I would say it is very effective up about 35-40 feet. After that, I can still hear fine, but people complain that my voice is breaking up. I probably could place the base a little higher and improve the range a bit. It's a minor annoyance.
Love the product and would highly recommend to the home office user.
