I received this item in a timely fashion. It is a little small for an adult but it is used mostly by my kids and I have small hands. I would reccomend this product especially for the price.

I've gone through several different wireless 'mice', but in the end I got tired of batteries and carrying around the extra weight of batteries (every gadget you carry around with your notebook adds up).
I tried this mouse and haven't looked back. It is very lightweight and the cord wraps up nicely along the base. Liked it so much I use one for my desktop needs as well.

This is a great mouse.
PLUSES: very light, compact but still big enough so it feels good size in your hand, the cord wrapping is a great idea. Overall a good mouse.
MINUSES: Its cheap to make these darn things but savings are never passed onto the consumer. I saw these in China and its too bad I didnt pick it up then.
OVERALL: solid value, solid feel and a perfect companion for any laptop.

Product is fine, no Surprises. The scroll wheel is a somewhat tough, but works fine. The only downside is that the cord that comes with the mouse is rather short - works fine if your USB connection is on the side of your computer that you use the mouse from - not long enough if the USB connection is on the opposite side.

The Best Mouse Ever!.......2007-12-21
This isn't the first Logitech Trackman Wheel Optical that I have had. The first one I had for a long time, but it eventually went kaput like all mouse do. But it's so much better than a standard mouse, and better than the marble wheel type with the roller ball in the middle. This one has the roller ball in the thumb and is much more natural and easier to navigate than the other type. I will always recommend this type mouse over standard mice or any other kind!

I love this mouse. I had the wireless one first but after dropping it on a very hard tile floor about 10 times (clumsy of me), it didn't work anymore. SO, I went to Amazon and ordered three of the wired ones. I'm afraid one day they'll discontinue this model and I want to be sure to have backups if the one in use dies. The thumb wheel is the greatest feature. No moving the mouse or the hand. Just place your hand on the mouse and the click buttons and the thumb wheel are right there.

I've been using one of these for quite a while now. I purchased 2 more, one for my laptop and the other for the laptop at work. All have given great service. Excellent ergonomics and as long as it's clean the motion is crisp and smooth.

I've been using the Logitech Trackman since about 2000 when wrist pain became an issue due to long work days. This is the first time I've had to replace one and it was just due to the clicking response becoming sluggish and sometimes non-responsive. But what can you expect for a 7-year old mouse?
This model with the wheel controlled by your thumb is the best for carpel tunnel issues. The ones with the ball in the center still irritate and strain the tendons and soft tissues in your wrist.
The only thing I wish Logitech would do is create another version of THIS mouse with a few extra buttons. They make it with the wheel in the center, but not for this one. Overall great mouse and recommended for anyone with wrist pain. This will help a lot.

i got this to replace my V200...and the only reason i needed to replace that one is because the reciever is in room 211 at the days in off exit 394 on 40 west in TN...haha...either way...i dont like the 220 quite as much because they made it a good bit smaller and i have a pretty big hand... on the other hand...it is very comfortable to hold and the feature i love the most is that instead of the reciever clicking or snapping into place for travel...it actually slides into the bottom of the mouse so that it wont just come off from something brushing against it in your bag...overall i say a great mouse

Very simple to set up and use. Decent battery life... I use rechargable Ever Ready batteries... changing them about monthly. Reliable and durable, it takes a beating in my back-pack and takes an occasional tumble off the work surface. This one's a keeper.

V220 Cordless Mouse.......2007-12-12
Without a doubt, this is the best mouse around for any laptop, but particularly for the Macs. Plug it in, load the LCC, turn it on and the mouse is ready to go. Battery life seems great too, compared to most other wireless mice I've used. The V220 is smaller than the others too, but it has all the features of its big brothers and sisters! The preferences in the LCC allows you to set the mouse up to your particular specs...almost unlimited!! This thing is so good, I bought another for my PMac G-5!! Strongy recommend this to anyone!!!

I got this as a replacement to a wireless mouse that periodically lost track of what it was supposed to be doing (seemed to depend on whether the power cord was between the USB port and the mouse). This mouse has lasted for over a year and I have absolutely no regrets. I bang it around and it keeps on working. Logitech still reins supreme when it comes to making the best mouse for your computer, gaming or not. The mouse feels so comfortable and compatible with my (right) hand and the Back and Forward buttons situated where your thumb goes is perfect for surfing the Net. I consider myself something of a power-user: In addition to the mouse, I also use keystroke commands for various applications. My father also uses a mouse left-handed, which made me consider using the trackball with my left hand -- and still use a mouse with the right.
In short, I have a great setup. I can now alternate how I interact with my computer, and reduce repetitive motion. The symmetrical trackball allows me to use my left hand, and the Logitech marble mouse places the thumb on the primary click key. The scrollwheel *is* missing, but, with two *raised* buttons near the primary and secondary (ie. right and left) click keys, you program one of the raised buttons. (I would initially recommend the up/down Autoscroll over the up/down/left/right Universal scroll configuration.) This leaves the secondary raised button for as a "function key" for whatever purpose you like. For example, if you regularly shop on Amazon, you may end up programming it as the Back button. Myself, I have it set as the Enter key, so I neither have to drag the mouse to the OK button (inconvenient), nor use my other hand to hit the Enter key (laziness!).
And, as said, my back problem is gone! With a USB hub, you can easily set up your desk to use both the track ball and a mouse. Use whichever you feel like to break up the repetitive motion!

The good:
It is nice and easy to move around using the big ball placed in the middle. More comfortable than using a conventional mouse.
The bad:
No scrollwheel. This can be overcome, as other reviewers said, by using shortcut keys. But I couldn't get used to those. Also, the two small buttons on the sides are inconveniently placed.
Conclusion: if you don't scroll a lot, this mouse may be a great buy for you. Otherwise, consider the other models with scrollwheels.
Good but not as good as the older one........2007-12-28
I love using trackballs and this is one of the few that I can use to switch hands with. I like it because of it's not very big, smaller than an average size hand. I had an older version of the Marble Mouse and after many good years, it was time to get a new one. This one has more buttons on it but the extra buttons are not exactly in a great position. It's kind of awkward to use them if you're trying to be quick. And one function that the old one had (pressing both buttons at the same time) is not available on this one. That's really irritating for me. I used that function to double click and now I have to do it the old fashioned way. I did set the double click on one of the extra buttons, but like I said, it's awkward to use. I can't believe they didn't add that function onto this one. Other than that, it works great.
Works Very Well With VMWARE.......2007-12-21
This rating is specific to use on VMWARE. I own an Apple MacBook Pro using VMWare Fusion. One of the problems with using a mouse that has software to control special functions is that it doesn't work very well when you move from one enviornment to another.
I expected as much with this device, the software for the Mac would not work in the Windows enviornment and I would have to install the Windows version on the Windows VM. To my surprise, this was not necessary. I only had to install on the Mac. The transition from one enviornment to another was not a problem, I could move the mouse pointer between the two enviornments with the same amount of control and no loss of synch or speed. The scroll buttons work perfectly in both enviornments, again with no loss of synch or speed.

Logitech Optical Marble Mouse (USB/PS2)
I purchased three of these for clients, all of which have arm tremors: Parkinson's disease or old age. Two of the clients are left handed the other is right handed. The Logitech Marble mouse has turned out to be very near to perfect for these folks. While the price was not paramount, this is a low ticket item. It can be used with either hand, as the track ball has a central location. It is heavy enough to stay put with either a desk top or lap top.
There are disadvantages to this mouse. There is no scroll wheel, but scroll options are available. Something that I seldom do, the installation instructions need to be read to select the appropriate options. Finally, there is a frustration of learning a new mouse; however, that frustration is insignificant to the frustration of the inability to navigate a traditional mouse due to involuntary arm movements.
It is a good mouse and priced right. Hope that this helps.

I hope Logitech has the sense to never remove this product. I've been using this mouse for about 3 years now. I've tried many Cord and cordless mouses and this has by far been the best ever. It has the perfect balance between weight and size for me and many hands. Even my colleagues agree, that this model is the best. Smaller gets uncomfortable, lighter gives an uneasy grip etc.
I'll likely keep on bying this model for as long as it is on the market

It works prefectly on my computer; I didn't detect any interference with my very nearby wireless router. But I do keep the mouse close to the USB receiver. A mouse pad is a must; on shiny or not too dull surfaces the mouse doesn't work properly.
