A very good alternative keyboard.......2007-11-17
This keyboard is not exactly a mainstream keyboard and you probably won't find it in a retail store.
It's a very nice keyboard though. It has two different angle positions besides just being flat. Plus it has a nice wrist rest. And if you like quick key buttons, the programmable top buttons are very nice, especially for the calculator. It's usually kind of baried in Windows.
Another great thing about this keyboard is the touch and feel. It responds quickly, yet lightly and it is quiet. The dual USB 2.0 ports are nice as well. More common now, but when this first came out, it was highly unusual. Unfortunately, the keyboard brand is now Lenovo instead of IBM, but other than that, cosmetically it is pretty much ideal and the black is very nic. I don't use the back/forward buttons very much, but when I have it was a nice touch.
The media controls have kind of a firm feel, I wish they were softer, but they work very well. The mute button is very handy too, especially when browsing sites with embedded music that you don't expect.
We have 3 of these keyboards in my family, I can definitely recommend it. I don't however recommned IBM/Lenovo's mice with the little up/down scroll button.
Oh, also the positioning of the USB ports might not allow big flash drives, etc.

Keyboard is fine and of good quality though the keys are a bit tough to press and requires more pressure than I'm used to. This is not thinkpad quality.
The killer is the mouse. The mouse probably weighs 1/2 a lb for god knows why. It's gigantic and godawful heavy. If you don't have wrist problems before, you will after using this mouse. The mouse is also elongated and must longer than anything I have ever seen.

Setup was a breeze. Instructions were easy to understand. I can go about 30 feet away and still pickup the signal. I would buy again, most definitely.

Both the keyboard and the mouse work well. There is a peculiarity with the mouse that I expect is typical with wireless mice- a very slight delay between the time you make a movement and the system reacts. If you use the mouse continually, this isn't a problem. The receiver plugs into an available USB port and has a light on it when it is receiving valid signals, which is handy. Unfortunately, on my desk machine, the USB ports are in the back which means I can't see the receiver during normal operation. I put a USB extension cable between the port and the receiver and clipped the receiver to the edge of my bookshelf which solved this problem. If you have a front USB port, then you are all set. Otherwise, I haven't had any other issues.
No F-Lock.......2007-02-08
This is the most rugged wireless keyboard I have come across yet. Its range is amazing and best of all it does not have an F-Lock key. The mouse is very responsive and does not seem to eat batteries very fast.
