It's a nice little mouse, but it's extremely tough on batteries. I've owned this product for about 5 weeks, and I've burned through 3 sets of batteries. At this rate, I will use over 60 batteries during the year. What a waste. Not recommended.

My keyboard had quit on me unexpectedly so when I saw this bundle I decided to buy it. Waste of money especially when you consider the mouse.
I love the keyboard the buttons on it are nice and I like the range I can have without the wire.
The mouse sucks for me. There is a terrible lag and the mouse will scroll all over the screen and it sometimes just stops for awhile almost like it is frozen. I despise the mouse and I am forced to use it which makes me even more mad because it doesn't work.
I would not recommend this product to anyone. The bundle is not worth the money in my opinion.
FLAWLESS - NONE of the Problems Noted by Others.......2007-05-13
Everything about this product meets or exceeds expectations. I have tested it with both my HP Desktop (Windows XP) and HP laptop (Windows Vista). Keyboard touch is good, although the keys are slightly noisy. The mouse works just FINE, but I use a Logitech Trackball most of the time. (There is NO interference between them!) Most of the special keys function as assigned without any additional setting. The keyboard has a solid overall feel. The outboard transmitter unit looks good, and has has (4) LED's - three amber and one blue - for various functions, as well as a CONNECT button on its front panel. This is an exceptional value.
Cheap product for the money.......2007-03-21
This was my first purchase of wireless keyboard/mouse. I am very disappointed that HP offers such a cheap product! The mouse runs through batteries like crazy! The "door" to change the batteries is so hard to take off, I ended up breaking the clip and now the mouse is pretty useless. Not to many problems with the keyboard. If we have a power outage or when I do change the batteries, I have a hard time getting them to re-connect to the computer. I have purchased another combo from Logitech for the same cost and LOVE it!
Bottom line - if you have $50 to waste and want to have to change batteries constantly, this would be your product. Not a good buy.
Low cost, Low class Combo........2007-02-03
This was my first jump into the world of wireless keyboards and mice. I can honestly say that this thing is 1) cheap, and 2) overpriced. It has a lot of nice buttons: CD tray ejector, Log Off, Calculator, etc. But I noticed right away that the "Back" and "Forward" buttons did not work at all. The mouse was AWFUL. It was cheap, and the door for the batteries was too hard to put back on in place. Also, the mouse drank batteries all the time. I replaced the batteries in the mouse about twice before I replaced the batteries in the keyboard. And yes, the mouse is really possessed. It just starts drifting across the screen for no reason at all. For the price, this should be avoided.
HP Multimedia Keyboard.......2006-09-26
My keyboard works fine, but then again, I'm not asking it to do anything very difficult and I suspect that if I did, I would have problems. Besides the keyboard being a little small, the biggest problem with this package combo is mainly the mouse. It simply does not work. It wasn't until I made a trip to the computer store again, changed out the batteries, and basically, drove myself crazy trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, that I finally decided it wasn't me...but the mouse. Funny enough, after all the work trying to get it going, I finally bought a simple 6.00 mouse and wah lah...I'm able to get back to work. Can't leave the desk area, but after all I've been through...don't really care any more. If you're going to buy this...I recommend you have the dealer take the mouse out and test the wireless ability before leaving the store with it since they have a history of 'not' working. LOL...should have checked for FB on this site, I would have figured this out a lot sooner. Would have saved me about two weeks worth of trouble.

However, keyboard isn't the niceset in terms of how key stroke feels. However, if your computer doesn't have ps2, be aware that this desktop needs ps2 port. Many modern computers come with only USB ports. Which means you should buy ps2 to USB adapter.
Mixed Feelings.......2005-12-27
I ordered this item about a month ago, and was fairly impressed with the quality i got for $35. However, within the last week, the scroll wheel on the mouse has locked up completely and is of no use to me. The mouse has no lag and the keyboard works great too, but you don't realize how dependent you are on the scroll wheel until it no longer works. Maybe mine was just defective because I haven't read any other reviews mentioning this problem. For the money, probably a good value.
Good keyboard; horrible numeric pad.......2005-12-04
I let my husband pick out a wirelesss keyboard for me and he's always pushing the virtues of ergonomic keyboards, so he selected this one. Everything about this keyboard is very good with one absolutely glaring exception: Kensington did away with the double-length "0" key in the numeric keypad and shifted the right arrow over to occupy that space.
I'm an accountant and have been using 10-key machines for 35 years. This is HORRIBLE for anyone that uses the numeric keypad for lots of data entry.
This is an unforgiveable sin: Kensington did not do this with their cable version of the same board; they did not do this with any of their other wireless boards; but they have ruined the wireless comfort touch model by making this egregious key shift.
If you don't use the numeric keypad much, you'll probably grade this board a 5, but under the circumstances, I cannot do that.

After reading the reviews on this wireless keyboard and mouse set I figured that for $35 or so it was well worth trying it out. Glad I did- both keyboard and mouse work great, no lag or other annoying glitches. Mouse does run low on batteries quickly (well, after a few days)- but that doesn't make much differance because of the USB recharge cable. Have used this set for games and haven't noticed any problems either. I think this is a great buy if you aren't into a ton of bells and whistles on the keyboard (I don't even use the ones that this comes with so it didn't make a difference to me)- great deal if you get this on sale for under $35 like I did too!

I have not used this product. I am giving 5 stars based on the 2 reviews which are already there.
What I want to mention is that I had bought this product from Amazon.com and later during the day, discovered from Kensington website, that this a "PS/2" wireless desktop . This is NOT a "USB/PS-2 combo" or "only USB" wireless desktop.
I do not have PS/2 ports on my Compaq Presario laptop, only usb ports. I realized that I ordered something which is of no use to me.
Amazon.com does not mention explicitly, anywhere on the product page (or the buying info page, or in the technical specs, or the picture), that this is a PS/2 wireless kit. Had they mentioned it, it would have saved me the hassle of returning it back to the 3rd party seller at Amazon Marketplace.
I would suggest that you insist on reading the detailed product specs from the Manufacturer's website (if available) or atleast cross verify the specs from some other site.
I learned it the hard way.

I've preferred Keytronics keyboards above all for years ... and I've used a lot of keyboards since I bought my first computer in 1980. This product didn't advertise an optical mouse when I bought it, so the optical mouse was a surprise upgrade for me. I'm still happy typing on this keyboard in Oct of '07, and if it craps out, or if I spill something in it as I usually/eventually do ... I'll order another Keytronics!

Unreliable mouse and keyboard.......2006-08-27
The mouse and keyboard worked fine for the first few days I had them, but then the mouse started constantly losing its connection with the wireless receiver, and the "t" key on the keyboard became unresponsive. Also, the media buttons seem to be tied to Windows Media Player, with no way to reprogram them for compatibility with other programs. If you're using some other software to play music and you hit the play/pause/stop buttons, Windows Media Player will open. Dissatisfied.

ok, first off, HATS OFF TO AMAZON AND THE SERVICE RECEIVED!
Placed my order Jan 5th, and rec'd item Jan 8th. (ETA, Jan 15th)
Basically, I was in the market for an inexpensive wireless mouse and keyboard combo, and spent 5 days extensively researching on line with numerous stores and seeking out numerous reviews. I thought I had my choice narrowed down but then realized it was NOT an optical mouse. I then came across this one, although I could not find one review (either good or bad) it basically had all the features: removeable hand rest, very conservative looking and an optical mouse! NOT to mention the price, relatively inexpensive. I am EXTEMELY happy to report that I have had this combo set for 20 days and utilize them daily, not to mention the same batteries that came with them are still alive and ticking, I have not had to replace them.
The only problem I seemed to encounter was during the initial setup (user error - lol) I couldn't synchronize the ID connections for the mouse, I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH TO CAREFULLY FOLLOW STEP 5 OF THE INSTRUCTIONS!!
If your are looking for a way to rid yourself of the wires involved and typically utilize the mouse keyboard for email, eBay, surfing the internet .......... etc ......... then by all means go for it! Unfortunetly, we have not tried any of the games with these yet, so I cannot speak intelligently on that subject - sorry.
All I know, is I am EXTREMELY pleased with my purchase!! Also I am actually typing this review from 5ft from the receiver as If I moved back any farther I could not see what I am typing anymore, both the mouse and keyboard are responding accurately, my eyes are not - lol

This was a good product for what you pay for it. Keyboard batteries last a long time. Mouse batteries - not so much. We use rechargable NiMH and get about a week or two.
A couple of things I didn't like:
The NUMLOCK, CAPSLOCK, SCROLLLOCK buttons are in the standard locations, but the indicators are not on the keyboard. They are displayed in the system tray after installing the software.
There's no warning that the mouse batteries are getting low. They're just suddenly dead. But we keep an extra set on-hand - so that's not a huge concern.
For the freedom of the wireless keyboard and especially wireless mouse at this price, it's worth it. I'd do it again.
Flawed product, worse support.......2007-01-11
The day after I installed this on my home computer my PS/2 ports stopped working. I called tech support from work, and he suggested removing the ports from Device Manager and rebooting. (He did not note my case #). No ports were listed. I called again. The new rep was worse, demanding I hot swap the plugs in my old keyboard, a known no-no. After 30 minutes he told me to call the comp. manuf. Next day I did: they said replace the motherboard. I called MI again, and he escalated me to Level 2 but they were closing. The next week I called everyday but their phone system was busted. So was their website. Finally today I talked for an hour with "Manny." He said take it to the shop and have the ports tested and find out why they fried. The shop can tell me THAT they are fried but not why. Company does NOT stand behind its product, and basically gave me the run-around. RUN!
