These discs are great! Just got a new computer at home and experimented with the disks. You can create some awesome CD's with this product. When I showed my friends they couldn't believe you could make something like that.

I recently bought these discs to put my picures on for my children. I put a picture on the disc of the person that the disc represents. I had no problem whatsoever with the pictures on the discs. I am really enjoying them and have purchased two more packages to use. I highly recommend these. I have seen reviews that weren't as possitive but they were using them as music cds. For pictures they are great

So far I've burned and labeled most of a 25 cd pack. They all work in both cars (Pioneer in one & a 6-cd indash changer *very finicky* in the other), in the computer (HP), on the house stereo(Denon)...no problems with playback....even with up to 16 songs. I did find an upgrade for the Lightscribe technology that darkens the images on the label, which looks better. I've even used it with imported pictures, and they look very slick. I'd like to see a multi-pack tho with a mix of colors & larger quantities.

so, this is the best alternative for my hp photosmartD5160 printer (or so hp says). it allows my hp printer to print solid colors only on their cds. for whatever reason, maybe proprietary disc sales, my hp printer may print many lighter color lines through large blocks of solid color if it uses any other inkjet cd. the hp disc itself has a grainy nature to its printed out cds.
hp has poor print quality on their cds. if i could go back, i'd buy a different printer that allows better quality prints on ANY inkjet cd. this is so frustrating. hp is making their consumer buy their product that will only print using their cds which gives crappy results. i used to like hp inkjets.

They seem to be ok... I printed on the surface on approximately 10 of them and the colors were really beautiful. Since I bought them less than a month ago I cannot say anything about their duration though.
I strongly recommend them if you need CD's that have a printable surface

I tried these as a cheaper alternative to Memorex printable CD-R's that I had used before. The HP discs aren't nearly as nice as the Memorex. The HP discs have a surface texture, almost rough, that feels like an adhesive paper label has already been applied. The Memorex brand has a smooth, slick surface that's much nicer.

So I guess these CDs are alright. They seem to burn just fine, to get the truly important thing out of the way. I am not usually one to complain about the way things look, but these CDs are UGLY! I bought them online, with no idea what they would look like. They were name-brand, so I figured, why not? Why do the companies do this? There are two, fairly creepy-looking teenagers with headphones on taking up most of the front of ALL the CDs. There is hardly any place to write on them! Forget these discs if you have light-scribe!
Okay, so bottom line: They seem to work so far. That really is the important thing. HOWEVER, there is no place to write on them and you have to look at two HUGE random teenagers every time you pick up a CD. I want room to write. And truthfully, I am a little embarrassed to give these out to people.

I have written JPEG photos and audio files to hundreds of these HP 52x CD-Rs. I have never had any problems. The difference between my experience and those who have had problems may be that I always write at 4x speed, while they perhaps write at 52x speed. But since I have a product and method that works 100% for me, I will continue to use these CD-Rs. I am about to order a few hundred more CDs right now.

I agree with the two poor reviews above. I bought a bunch of these from Staples and have had nothing but problems. They are not compatiable with alot of players, and the ereeor rate is very high, not to mention that we they do work and you go back to them a few years later guess what you have, a disc that won't play.

Don't buy Hp cd I had just purchased it and some of the cd's were corrupted. I had called Hp and they wouldn't do anything about this problem.

I bought a 50 pack spindle of these HP CD-Rs that worked with no problem, but then I bought a 100 pack spindle, burned 20 CDs and 12 of them played with a few seconds horrible noises. I returned the 100 pack spindle to Staples and they replaced them with only a 50 pack spindle of these HP CD-Rs. After burning the CD-Rs I had to take the time to listen all the way through to check it's sound quality. Same horrible result. STAY AWAY!
I called HP Customer Service and left them a message on their answering service. They did not return my call and Staples will not take these back. Staples has been having an amazing sale on these HP CD-Rs for months. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from HP CD-Rs!
I use Sony and some other brands that make perfect CDs.

Horrendously bad cd-r's..........2007-08-21
I just purchased these cd-r's and am so beyond dissapointed. I have been burning cd's on my computers for YEARS and have never had an issue like the one that happened with these cd's before. These cd's will NOT burn for me! I have a 52X CD Burner in a Windows XP DELL computer (the computer is about 4 years old) and have usually used such brands as Memorex, Fuji, Imation and TDK. I thought i would go out on a limb and try a new brand, so I chose the Pleomax brand by Samsung. These cd's are not only UGLY (Who wants to burn on a cd with an image of two people-where am I supposed to write what is on the cd at?) but they are useless. I am returning mine today for a full refund so I can go back to a trust-worthy brand like the ones I have used in the past. I am not sure if I got a completely defective batch of cd-r's, or if these cd's are just not compatible with my burning program, but they haven't worked for me. I used about 20 of them and my burner would start the burn process and get about 40% into it and spit the cd out, with a BURN ERROR message that I have NEVER seen before while burning ANY cd-rs. be careful if you buy these! I had a horrible encounter with them.

ive used literally every kind of cd-r brand out there. so far the samsung, while not popular, are the best cdrs avaliable today. no burn errors EVER, they are as good as the old maxells (not the new silver dye crap ones *sighs*). samsung has the best cdrrs buy them youll love them. they dont scratch easily either.
