I've been using the USB hub for about a month. It's working exactly as I expected. The lights probably are a bit bright if you're sleeping in the same room, so you'll want to turn it off in that case (or cover the lights somehow - some electrical tape might work).

This shouldn't be a big problem for everybody, but its a bit of a problem for me because i live in a dorm and the light could be a bit annoying at times. it would be nice if it had an automatic shut off, but thats just me.

Installed easily. Connected my Coolmax 360 HD external drive to the hub and started a backup. Backup hung in less then 500megabytes. Re-tried 3 times with the hub each try was a no go. Tried 3 times without the hub backup completed without a problem. I returned the hub. Will try the Belkin next.
More Ports - Less Desk Space - Mikey Likes It!.......2007-12-05
Problem:
It seems there's always something else to plug in to a USB port on my laptop, but I've long since run out of ports for plugging. In desperation, I bought a 4-port hub (working just fine, thank you), but I still did not have enough ports to do the job. And the idea of daisy-chaining was not practical because my desk is already overloaded.
Solution:
Enter the CyberPower 7-port hub. Space-saving solution to running out of ports. And, with its own power supply, it's not draining power from my laptop. Works like a charm!
I did find the glow light annoying, but it's easy enough to unplug the hub when I finish working in the evening, so it's not a big issue for me.
I'm a happy camper now, and I whole-heartedly recommend this hub for those who need more ports in a small space. I should also commend Amazon for super-fast delivery. Problem solved!
P.S. Mikey is my cat. He likes this hub and shows it by periodically knocking it off my desk.
I would prefer that Mikey didn't like it!
protect your flash drives.......2007-11-16
The problem with laptops is that whenever you move them to a different locatiion, you must be careful not to bend or break the flash drives you have hanging on them. I've broken just one so far but now it is so easy to just unplug on hub and carry it along or not. Also the hub sits upright any where and is easy to see that it is functioning properly.

We're using the Sony on work sites, where it competes with noise and dirt. This Boombox holds its own! Makes the day go faster, which ain't half bad!!
Good - Except for the Cord.......2007-11-27
This is almost the perfect jobsite radio. The D battery supply works well since the other jobsite radios require that you own a certain cordless tool to operate their units. I can get two days on a set of D batteries and do not need to crank up the generator unless we are cutting or grinding.
The handle feels cheap - partially because the unit is so heavy and the transformer on the cord adapter is retarded. A built in transformer would have been too easy to do, what is another 1/2 pound when the transformer on the chord is stored in the secret compartment anyway.
The sound is much better than the Bosch box even though the Bosch box looks way more cool. This unit could use a GFI and a whip antenna like the Box has.
Overall, this is the way to go. I hope Sony upgrades the chord, antenna handle and adds a GFI in the next version.

Solid Unit!.......2007-10-24
While I admit I am partial to Sony products, this item met my expectations in all facets. Solid bass, digital tuning, streamlined controls, easy synchronization to almost any MP3 or external audio device and heavy plastic construction makes this item 'every bit as advertised'. My application of this boombox was for my garage/workspace and even though I likely won't be getting it wet anytime soon, it certainly will be subject to dust and cold/warm temperatures and it appears to be tuff enough to stand up to it. Although I'm not crazy about the D.O.T. or Hunter Orange color, it is a good, quality item for the price...and, as far as my research indicated...is the ONLY item on the market built to withstand exceptional/tuff environments.

One very small complaint: The digital display won't properly show the volume level (like I really need it anyway) but works fine for all other function (weird). Otherwise I love it. I bought it for pool-side use at my condo complex and it blows everyone else's little alien-head looking radios away! I strap my MP3 player to the handle and kick it on battery power for hours. Haven't had to change them yet and I've had it for months. Well worth the price. I even left it in the rain for a short period of time with no consequences.

Important! Get the new model for the same $.......2007-12-28
Make yourself a favor and search for the Canon Compact Photo Printer Selphy CP740. It is the new model for the same price. When I realized that it was too late. The printer works fine and the quality is good although, there is not enough "ink" on the ink/paper set to print the amount of pictures that it pormises to do so. Other than that it is really cool to print pictures whenever you want.
Amazing quality but..........2007-12-22
For the money, there may not be a better 4x6 color printer than the Selphy 730; the quality is really astounding, and the per-print cost reasonable. However, the paper tray is maddeningly finicky to load "just so," a mild shiver of panic runs through me every time the tray runs out of paper, because begins another wasted half-hour of my life trying to get the paper tray to engage properly. It's a frustrating bit of bad engineering in an otherwise nicely thought-out and manufactured product. Maybe get two: one to use, and one to hurl against the wall when you have to change the paper, it's that anger-inducing.

Have had it for about six weeks. I ordered the one hundred paper pack with its ink container by Canon. Principal user is my spouse, but I have had a fun time comparing it to the results of my HP Photosmart with three inks that I paid a whole lot more for. When you think about it, a 4 by 6 is a handy print size for proofing pics or sending them off in the mail. The usual Canon paper stock is a very heavy cardboard with a post card imprint on the back. The colors come out fine straight out of the printer. A couple times I had to insert and reinsert the card in the SD slot to have it recognized. Like to think that is not a defect because I am happy with the results. One of the advantages of dye sub printing is that the final swipe of the sliding tray gives a protective coating to the print,which is useful. It is a very small unit and would find room in a suitcase, but very tough looking plastic. The little window is not hard to see,and one can do some simple manipulations with the image such as rotation and rough cropping. Overall, if it holds up in use, I consider this a great bargain and a no brainer in operation for the average user. J and R has good order service and packs well incidentally.

Canon dye-sub 4 x 6 printer........2007-10-20
I've used the printer for the last two years and made about 400 prints. I've had zero failed prints. Its dye-sub process is much much better than any ink-jet or laser. I wish they made a 5 x 7, or an 8 x 10 unit. You never have to buy ink since it comes with the paper. It costs about a quarter a page. The photos seem to be waterproof, smear proof, and indestructible.

I'm a fanatic on digital photography. I've tried several years to improve the quality of home printing using ink jet printers (I've tried 4 different models of 2 major brands). I was never satisfied enough with quality of printouts/cost-benefit relation. Than I've tried this one. A honest price (hardware) and a very competitive relation on cost-benefit per photo printed. The most important: qualit. It's very similar to professional laboratories. The speedy is quite good (remember you're paying only $40.00). I've also enjoyed showing to my friends the waterproof feature (printouts are really waterproof). You won't regret.
Good quality prints anywhere.......2007-06-25
My niece and nephew bought this for me about 18 months ago. I love it! Prints are a little more expensive but I can share prints with my family immediately. My sister has often complained that since we all bought digital cameras, she never gets copies of prints. Now I never hear that. I have a Canon Powershot G3 that connects directly or I can hook it up to my laptop--a real convenience when on a trip. The Easy Print software is a breeze to use and the photos are as good as those I have printed at Walgreen's. I recently upgraded to a Windows Vista notebook and after upgrading the drivers and software from Canon, the printer worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this product. I'm into genealogy and it's great for a research trip or family reunion.

I have never written a review like this before but felt compelled to do so in this case. Those considering purchase of this printer should be aware that the claim that it will work with pict bridge connections is NOT true. I purchased this for my wife thinking that it would be a nice compact simple printer to operate where we could easily print pictures of the grandkids. She and I both have newer Nikon digitals and the pictbridge connection will not work with mine at all. With hers, we can make a connection and, following drections carefully, we can get it to 'energize' the printer but the printer will only print intermittent photos and not of good quality. The printer will not pull the paper though properly. (We have even changed batteries in the camera to no avail and had a tech savvy son-in-law look at it.) I read reviews by others, but feel this printer is simply not reliable. I wanted to share our bad experience with those of you evauating a purchase.
In my opinion, Canon should be more forthcoming with claims about interface with other cameras. I'm in the process of trying to return it to Amazon. We're going to buy an HP, which I should have done initially.

Handy, All-Around Great Little Camera.......2007-10-15
I've owned my P3 for over a year, and it's going strong. I have several cameras in my bag, including a pricey DSLR, but this is the one I really count on when I'm in a hurry and don't need to mess with a lot of settings.
The Wi-fi capability is a little gimmicky. Download time is very slow--and only a little faster with the supplied USB connect. A 2.0 card reader solves that little snag.
I've used this camera in a broad spectrum of conditions and rarely find that it can't keep up. It has given me pleasing and consistently great images for online auctions, candid snapshots of the grandkids, pet photos, landscapes and macro work.
The build is sturdy and good-looking. The camera is small enough to slip in a shirt pocket or purse.
While full manual control is not a feature of this camera, there's still plenty of tweaking room allowed in the various modes. I find the ISO and WB places on the dial especially handy and am very glad they aren't buried down in a menu somewhere.
The LCD is nice and bright, and image review is a snap.
Full Auto works great. But that's not all. If you want in-camera noise reduction, you've got it. In-camera sharpening, you've got it. The menu is extensive for tailoring the various scene presets. There is an aperture mode for greater control. Metering modes are also selectable--matrix, spot focus, and center weighted average get used a lot.
It's last year's model, but it has everything you need this year. Vibration reduction, consistently snappy images with great dynamic range, 8MP resolution for large prints and a take-anywhere size.
All for a very affordable price!
hidden costs.......2007-08-23
Where I am happy with the camera itself....The actual cost, once I received the final total, I am not happy with. The purchase cost was $257., after shipping, exchange rate, AND customs fees(which were not disclosed at the time of purchase, and delayed the shipping) the actual total was $359.48. I could have purchased the camera locally for $325. What was the point of buying from Amazon??????
Easy to use, great pictures.......2007-06-16
I got this camera because it was at the time cheaper than the P4 version. I wanted an easy to use point and shoot camera. I was recommended Nikon because they are the best at taking pictures. I have not really done many indoor photos so I can't comment on them but I have taken lots of pictures. I work at a horse rescue and this camera has proven great for taking pics and the uploading them on the web. The detail is great. Also the vibration reduction was a major factor when choosing for me as often I am not the most steady when taking a pic and take a lot of pictures that are action shots. I love the editing features that are in the camera as I can do it before I upload them onto the computer. I have also used the video capacity to film a horse going over a jump and was greatly impressed with the quality for such a small camera. Most of the time I have allowed the camera to choose the best parameters for the pictures but I have started to look into what can be done and have enjoyed messing around. Over all for the money I have paid I am impressed. I haven't used the wireless download one because my computer won't allow it and also I have got a card reader so I don't need to. When taking pictures you do have the usual shutter delay but no more than any other camera I have tried. So if you want an easy to use relatively compact camera with good specs then I would say this is a good one for you.

Nikon P3 camera has all the features that an amateur /beginner photographer can require.
1-Resolution: up to 8 Mega pixels, pictures are sharp and crisp.
2-Program photography: easy and quick to use
3-Advanced modes photography: allows the setting of individual parameters
4-Preset scenes including portrait, night photography, fire works...etc up to 16 scenes in total.
5-Smart image correction inbuilt especially the D-light which automatically corrects exposure.
6-Vibration Reduction allows neater pictures in low light conditions when the camera is hand held
Interesting features:
1- Multi shot ability: various settings for multi shot including one that allows to take up to 100 pic in a row (low res of course)
2- The software enclosed is of great value and allows various picture editing and manipulation
3- WIFI: this is a great feature allowing the transfer of all the pictures wirelessly to your PC. It also allows to print directly from the camera to a designated printer ( no need for a print adapter if you have a wireless router). And finally how about shoot and transfer immediately to the PC!!! this allowed me to do a real time slide show!!! the slide show will show you the pictures as soon as the are received on the PC.
I used it for:
1-Taking a dinner pic with friends and printing it instantly as a souvenir for them to keep.
2-taking Pic of the kids playing in the garden and instantly uploading to a slide show running on the TV.

Fantastic portable printer- great printouts!.......2007-10-12
We original bought a lower model of the selphy for our daughter. When I saw the prints from hers, I had to get one for myself. This printer is simple to use (comes with nice little editing program), very portable and prints great prints.
I've seen reviews saying it jams alot and complaints about the availabilty of the paper. I have printed over a hundered prints with mine and never had a jam. Paper is available in 4x6, a credit card size (great for wallet photos) and even little stickers (fun for kids). I have seen the paper on retail shelves in office stores such as staples, but have found the prices online to be cheaper (about .23/print on amazon).
The ribbon technology in this printer is what sold it for me. I have printed prints off several brands of inkjet printers and have always had problems getting the print tones correct from one to another. I end up wasting pages of photo paper and tons of ink trying to get it right. With the ribbon technology in this printer, I get perfect prints in seconds with a clear coat over them that keeps them from running or smudging. Never a bad print. With the ribbon technology, you always know how many prints you will get - don't need to guess if you have enough red or yellow ink left to print another print.
My only regret is that Canon doesn't have a printer that prints larger prints with this same technology.

Thought a made a good choice with my first sublime printer. First couple of prints were pretty good. Then printed an indoor photo which came out too dark. Couldn't find the ICC profile to try and correct for differences in displays so I contacted tech service. They said send it in for repairs. No parts for this printer so they sent me a replacement. Replacement printed a few pictures, which were even darker than the original printer, and then jammed. Waiting for a return label (3 days now) so that I can send it in. While I was on the phone with tech support found out that sublime printers don't have ICC profiles only ink jet printers.
paper jams.......2007-06-29
Ok, this was my fault for not being careful, but still... When I tried to print an additional photo on the blank half of a used photopaper, the ink cartridge and paper jammed. The only way to take it out was to break the ink cartridge film. (The film was stuck onto the paper) Thus, the entire cartridge was wasted just because of one jam. It's just not worth it.
Prints have green tint to them.......2007-06-15
The quality of prints from this printer is disappointing. I did a comparison of prints from this printer and a four year old HP inkjet printer. The inkjet printer had truer skin tones and brighter colors. The Canon printer produced prints with a green cast. Skin tones did not look natural.
Worthy to note that this printer does not include a printer cable to connect to a computer.
As noted by other reviewers you only can print five prints out of the box. I had a difficult time finding stores that carry the paper/ink for this model.
The printer has a number of useful features but it all comes down to the print quality which doesn't compare to other printers on the market.
Keep looking, there are better alternatives.
I was wrong!!!.......2007-03-26
Initially my review of this product was not a very good one, but after using the product for over a year now, I understand how it can be a good product for photographers who are on the go.
It has 4 swift passes then a picture (Not the best quality that there is, but still great) comes out and everyone is happy. The features I really like about this printer are the retractable USB cable and the ease of popping in one ink cartridge that gives as many pictures as it promises.
Also, the on screen photo selection is awesome. You can select multiple pictures at the same time and even tell how many of each you want. For instance, you want one copy of photo 2 and 10, but you want three of photo 15. It'll do it with ease. you don't have to be a rocket scientist to use it either.
It's also good if you edit a picture on your computer and send it back to the SD card. It prints the new photoshoped picture and all.
I do a lot with photoshop and this feature alone makes it worth buying. Once you get all your images onto the card tell it to print what you want and its a go.
Definitely a good buy...for the price.

Lens Error.......2007-07-11
This camera was great until I got the "Lens Error" message on my screen. Beware buyers - apparently a small drop of the camera or even a little dust in the lens is going to ruin it to the point where you may as well buy a new one. Repairs for this kind of error cost between $90 and $120 with shipping to boot. It's not worth it. Like I said, when it worked, it was wonderful (needs work on low-light shots, but overall not bad) and compact, but I've only had mine for a year and took care of it and I still get the pleasure of spending yet more money to buy a new one. Definitely not Nikon next time.
GOOD INTERMEDIATE CAMERA.......2007-05-07
This camera is really good, and I got all what I expected, 7.2 MP gives clear picture and I gets sufficient close view with 5 optical zoom.

I have a 2 month old Nikon, and it keeps saying Lens Error on the screen. I looked on the internet and it is a common problem. Problem shooting guide states: turn it off and on a few times, and if that doesn't repair it, contact Nikon Customer Service. Nikon Customer Service said to mail the product in (on my buck) and they'll return it in about 2 weeks. It may or may not be covered by warranty, (they couldn't say for sure without seeing the camera first). It is a compact camera with a great zoom. Overall, not reliable, and my next camera will be an Olympus or Cannon for sure. A great zoom isn't very useful if the camera won't operate!!
Disappointed.......2007-03-09
It would seem that Nikon's line of Coolpix point & shoot cameras have declined in quality over the past two or three years. The autofocus is terrible, and camera performance is very slow. After only a few days, I returned the camera for a full refund. Nikon, where did you go wrong?
