this is a great 250GB external hard drive. it is not 256GB nor 80GB as the subject or discription says. hopefully amazon will get this fixed so when someone does a search for a 250GB external hard drive this item will show up.

Great product for all your storage needs.......2007-12-06
This drive isn't too technical to use and has lots of storage space. This is an external hard drive, not a flash drive, so you do have to use a USB cable (included) rather than a built-in USB adapter to connect to your computer.
The software is compatible with PC's, but not with Macs. The drive will still work on a Mac, but you can't use the "one touch backup" feature.
The drive is classy looking, comes with cables, software, and its own storage bag, and is covered with a 1 year warranty.

Well built, but..............2007-04-10
The hardware appears to be very well built. My laptop does not have a high speed USB so downloading is very slow. The main criticism I have is that the documentation is very skimpy. It would be helpful if there was a good set of instructions on how to go about selecting files & folders to be backed up.

Great little product.......2007-12-16
After my Seagate backup hard drive failed in less than 6 months (and the company made it far too difficult to obtain a replacement -- I'll never buy Seagate again!), I gave Edge's diskGO a try. It was easy to install and has worked great. We now have two of them. I did, however, scrap the back up software Edge provides because it was not very "user friendly", and we use the software that came with the Seagate.

I bought this Hard drive about 6 months ago and since then having problems from the first day itself.
It gives "I/O device failure error" and sometimes computer doesnot recognize it. I asked for replacement, which they did.
New one has similar issues. Horrible drive. Never buy it
