Customer Reviews:
Nice camera and great shipping.......2007-01-23
The Sony DCR-SR60 is a great camera, light weight and great resolution, i recieved it the next day i ordered, i was thinking on buying another with more HD capacity but i'm realizing that 30 GB is enough for everyday recording. I wish it had frame by frame video recording but i guess this features may exist in the professional cameras only.
The software is very friendly and simple and has everything you need to interact with the PC.
Canceled Order.......2007-01-18
After reading all the reviews for sony camrecorders, we have selected this product with my fiance which we will used it in our honeymoon coming in 2 weeks time. Although It was on-stock and after ordering sucessfully, I have received an email just saying that my order has been canceled, without explaining the reason. So I wrote to customer's service and they replied me that the seller of this product "was temporarily unable to accept payment through Amazon web site. (This can happen for a variety of reasons.)" They are sorry for inconvience and hope to see me again soon! I have appreciated amazon all the time and recently (just before receiving cancelation email) ordered an ipod for my cousin as well. But now I am not sure if you can see me EVER again.
Handycam review.......2007-01-10
We bought this particular camcorder because is records directly to a hard drive. We had borrowed someone else camcorder that used mini DVDs and had an issue with the finalization process and lost the first 3 weeks of video of our daughter. We have been extremely happy with the DCR-SR60. The video quality is excellent and very easy to use. It is easy to download to the computer. My only negative would be the very basic program for burning a DVD that SONY provides. So we boght Roxio's Creator version 9 to make our DVDs. Overall, I would definitely recommend this camcorder.
Bought it, liked it, but still returned it.......2006-12-20
I bought this camera thinking that Sony would have improved on the success of their DCR-SR100. The SR60 is a nice camera that is just as compact than the SR100, it weighs less than the SR100 and is still very managable. I love the automatic lens cover and the menu is very easy to use. I hear a lot of people complain about the menu setup, but for me (a point-and-shoot home movie person who almost always relies on automatic mode) it was fine.
It gave GREAT looking outdoor video but I wasn't too hot on the indoor quality; the picture came out a little too blue when an area was lit by overhead lights. When the lighting became even more dim, the picture became very grainy. I'm not saying that the picture was not usable; but for the cost of the camera ($600), I expected a little more.
Like i said earlier, the picture outdoors was very good, everything appeared clear and all the colors appeared correct. I used the camera in several action shot opprotunities and the focus appeared fast enough for me and never gave a blurry image.
The format of the camera (HDD) is awesome. I simply connect the camera, via USB2, to my computer and it detects it as a hard drive. From there its just drag and drop and you're all done. It takes a matter of minutes to tranfer the information, way better than the real time transfering from miniDV tapes. With its 30gb Hard drive, almost 7.5 hours of video, that's 15 miniDVD's. The Hard drive is just more convenient than other formats.
I used the included software and it was very easy to use. One bad thing I didn't like was the software showed the file name on the screen throughout the entire DVD. I could not figure out how to remove it and when I contacted Sony, they said you can not remove it. If you use the direct DVD burn function (burns directly from the camcorder's hard drive), then it creates the video without the name. The direct DVD burn function is great for the making video from the camcorder's hard drive, but if you already tranferred video to your computer's hard drive, then your forced to use Sony's software (or preferrably another 3rd party program).
I was overall pleased with the camera except for its indoor performance and since that is the majority of my video, I returned it and opted for the SR100, which I find to perform better indoors but at a higher price. I would have liked to have upgraded to the SR1 but I couldn't afford its $1500 price tag and I wasn't sure if the HDTV would survive its upcoming war with Blu-ray or EDTV.
If asked if I would recommend this camera, I would still say yes but give my experiences with the indoor quality. If one could look past that, then I would also advise to consider the SR80 instead, it appears to be the same camcorder but with a larger (60 gb) hard drive. During this Holiday season, I've seen the SR80 go for only $100 more than the SR60, not too bad for those really long extended trips.
Hope this helps
Performs as expected.......2006-11-19
Can't provide much info of a technical manner, but for home use this camcorder performed perfectly. Most of the video shot so far has been in a gymnasium of my daughter's basketball games. I've had trouble with the same type of setting with both digital cameras and camcorders because at zoom, the light levels record very low. This was not the case with this camcorder, which is the main reason I decided to purchase it in the first place. Overall the camcorder is very easy to operate, it's very point and shoot. When finished shooting it's very easy to put in it's dock and transfer video either directly to DVD or to your computers hard drive for editing and back up. My only complaint would be battery life and cost of extra batteries. The battery that comes with it performed as advertised but it's just a little too short and the purchase of a second battery is a must.

Amazon.com Product Description
The Grado SR60 Headphones produce brilliant sound and offer outstanding listening comfort for a low cost. The SR60s have a flexible, soft vinyl headband. The headband and earpieces are connected by metal height adjusters, which adjust the height of your head with the center of your ear. These nifty adjusters also allow the earpiece to rotate a full 360 degrees, permitting them to lie flat on a surface perfect when packing in a suitcase. The SR60s come with earpads made of soft, porous, open-cell foam that covers the driver much more comfortably than standard foam earpads.
Customer Reviews:
The best thing $70 can buy (if you like music at all).......2007-11-30
I have owned a pair of these for about a year now. For starters, thats about 10 times as long as any headphones have lasted me before breaking. Besides sounding astoundingly clear and lifelike, they take a beating for sure. I've sat on them, and thrown them in a backpack many times, and the construction of them permits very easy fixes.
The so-called "retro" look to them is merely a result of sound quality taking priority over styling. (form follows function)
I happen to like the open design. It opens up the sound. Also, with an iPod, if turned up all the way, they can almost substitute for speakers in a small room. Or if you're like me, subject others to my choice of music, at places like airports, or the train.
If you're looking to get headphones, get these.
I see y'all out there with your white ipod freebie headphones, upgrade so you can actually listen to your music.
Great cans for the money!.......2007-11-20
After seeing many positive reviews on this product, I decided to grab a pair.
Sound: The sound is excellent. Lows are subtle but accurate. Mids do not sound tinny at all, and they have excellent highs. Tuning the EQ on your portable device or stereo is a must to get the most amazing sound (as with any phones), so experiment a bit. Expect a lot of sound leakage due to the open design, so these would not work well for listening to metal in a quiet library, or classical in a loud subway.
Build: The build quality is simplistic, but still quite good. Highly adaptable to any size noggin thanks to the 2 way pivoting earpieces. Styling is very retro, which I like. Materials seem to be of very good quality. I actually fell asleep with these on, and when I woke up I was laying on top of them! They are still as good as new.
Comfort: I find the original pads to be comfortable, but they seem to want to "fall off" my ears due to the thick pads and pivoting earpieces. I also bought a pair of SR80 pads to try, and I like them so much more than the originals. They provide clearer highs, and more accurate bass on account of the unobstructed driver being closer to your ear. The drawback of the SR80 pads is that the mesh covering the driver touches your ear, which can cause discomfort for users with smaller ears. If this happens, placing a very thin headphone pad underneath the SR80 pads makes them much more wearable for longer periods.
Portability: The cord that these comes with is quite long, so expect it to be about a foot from the ground if you carry your mp3 player at your side (I'm 5'11" for reference). However, you can easily recable your phones to make them shorter (if that's your thing).
These take only 32 ohms to drive, so it's very easy for portable devices to power these headphones (my Cowon D2 uses about half power for comfortable listening).
Buy these if you need the best price/performance, you won't be disappointed.
Excellent product, incredible sound!.......2007-11-14
The SR60 is one of the best sounding set of headphones I've ever purchased. If you're into REALLY hearing all of you music, there's no better value around. True, they look kinda cheap (plastic headband and parts), but the sound quality is first rate. They do hurt my ears and get a bit hot, but I move them around enough to reduce pressure or take them off for a few minutes. I've been using the SR60s as my primary headset on very long distance flights lately, movies sound much better than the cheapies the airlines provide and block out most outside sound. This can be issue, as they are NOT noise canceling by any means. But overall I'd rate them as excellent and an outstanding value.
Grado SR 60s.......2007-10-08
What a revelation; this is considered an "entry level" audiophile product but definitely outperforms its competition. After trying wireless alternatives and experiencing very poor performance, I returned to wired with complete satisfaction. This product deserves all its accolades and, unless you have an extreme system to match much more expensive cans, these are a delight. They may not be as comfortable has more expensive units but I do not tend to listen for "hours" at a time.
Rich's reveiw.......2007-09-12
Headphones sound is excellant. The only problem is they are not as confortable on my ears as i would like.
Product Description
The Grado SR60 Headphones have gained legendary status and rave reviews from hardcore audiopiles around the world. Its unique design concept is made of a low mass polymer, carefully formed to broaden resonant modes to reduce their amplitude. This delivers low frequency resonance and prevents breakup at lower frequencies, for a superior listening experience.
Customer Reviews:
Best bang for the buck on the market.......2007-12-24
You simply can't find better headphones for the money. The SR-60s blow away everything else in the under $100 market, and give plenty of headphones that cost more than $100 a good run for their money as well. Their closest challenger are Grado's own SR-80s at $100.
The SR-60s, and Grado headphones in general, have a more visceral sound to them than most other headphones. Sennheisers have a tendency to provide too wide of a soundstage and make it very noticable that you're listening to a recording, whereas Grado headphones make it sound like the instruments are being played mere feet from where you're sitting.
The only complaint I have about them is that they could be more comfortable. That's where Sennheisers, AKG and others really shine in comparison to Grados. Most of them are circumaural, whereas Grados are all supraaural, so they sit directly on your ears, rather than around your ears. But the sound is so much better as a result. It's completely worth it. Take a break every hour or two and they won't bother you a bit.
The SR-60s' audio fidelity is unmatched by anything close to their price range. I highly recommend them.
Perfect for the Young Digital Music Enthusiast.......2007-12-21
I spent a long time looking through reviews comparing headphones, Boss, JBL, Sony.... when I found the Grado lines here on Amazon. The reviews, the look, it all went right up my alley.
I thought about getting the $150+ pair, then the $100 plus pair and only when I really realized how little of the music's true quality I was really going to get from my mp3 collection did I decide these were both overkill, again; judging from reviews.
I couldn't be happier, I can't say they are the best headphones ever made, but I get the feeling that this company could do it and probably has on one of their higher lines. These are beautiful, comfortable (!) and highly enjoyable headphones. The retro styling, the light padding and the way it feels like you're the first guy to roll back the tape on a Dylan recording, if like me you used street legal as a first play, all add up to an extremely gratifying purchase.
Unless you're entire collection is .flac or 320kbps and you want to throw in a headphone amplifier I would recommend these headphones to you.
SR60.......2007-11-07
Holy Jesus!
I should have taken the warnings more seriously. These do sound great and they aren't going to kill the pocket book like bose but these things are loud. I read that people can hear them but you seriously might as well buy some portable speakers and plug them into your player because everybody and their mom will hear these things (almost as well as you can)! They may sound great but it defeats the purpose of wearing headphones when everybody is going to hear what you are listening to anyway.
Great sound, but I prefer it amped........2007-11-03
There were four main reasons why I decided to buy the Grado SR60:
1 - You can only research decent headphones before you realize 99% of the places you look only have great things to say about the SR60s.
2 - I needed something for work, and sometimes home, when I needed to be able to hear what was going on around me.
3 - I had spoiled myself for the past year with my Shure E4Cs, but wasn't about to go and spend $600 on a pair of Sennheisers... this year. :)
4 - My E4Cs were in for repair and I needed a decent pair of headphones to hold me over (NOTE: Yes, this is more of an excuse as opposed to a reason.)
For as little as I paid for them, comparatively, I was absolutely blown away by the sound I was getting. The bass is nice and crunchy, but can be very smooth when it needs to be. The overall sound is pretty balanced, although there are times when I lose a bit too much of the midrange for my liking. Still, the Grado SR60s are built to impress.
A lot of places I looked at said these don't really need a portable headphone amp (I'm using the Headroom Total Airhead.) While I agree with them, to a point, I think the sound is extremely improved when bypassing the iPod headphone jack. Also, when not using the amp, I found myself having to turn the volume up to ~3/4 full. Part of this comes from the fact that these are completely open headphones, so the music is having to cut through ambient noise. Still, the amount I had to crank up the volume leads me to recommend getting an amp to more easily push the sound.
Speaking of openness, and this has been talked about aplenty, people around you will be able to hear your music. It isn't blaring at regular listening levels, but you can definitely hear the music coming from it.
So, to sum up, the Grado SR60s are an incredibly solid buy for anyone looking to upgrade their listening experience. Again, while fully capable of pushing the sound out of your iPod/mp3 player of choice, a decent headphone amp really unleashes the extra little "oompf" that these headphones pack.
Great headphones.......2007-10-30
The sound as previous reviewers mentioned is stellar. I'm getting to hear my music collection all over again in much richer detail. Also, they are extremely comfortable. The pads are soft and the band bent well to suit my larger-than-average head.
However I needed to get an extension cable to get them to work with my system. Also since there's no in-line volume I'm going to have to get a new keyboard with volume controls.

Fantastic Bluetooth Microphone for SR100.......2007-12-13
We had purchased the Sony SR100 ~1 year ago, and they were offering this free for the DVD version - but not the hard drive version - at that time it was $300.00. We purchased this on Amazon for ~150 and it would have been worth the full $300.
We have used it for my daughters school play, she held the cord in her hand and the mike was hanging close to the floor - even with that it picked up her voice. We were concered, as happens with many school plays - we are in the audience and the people around us won't be quiet - however the only audio that was recorded was my daughter (and the children directly on her sides).
There is a also a mode that would capture the sounds around us, and have the microphone be the center channel in a 5.1 setup. We have found that parents usually aren't quiet - so we use the mike only feature.
It would be better if the clip were designed a little different - the unit is about 2" long - and it doesn't really stay attached very well to a six year old.
Works great for me.......2007-11-30
I video a lot of performances, such as school plays, usually from the rear of the auditorium. Than means my camcorder mic also records a lot of noise from the audience - papers shuffling, people making comments, and sometimes the ventilation system is loud.
Using this wireless mic vastly improved the audio portion of my recordings. I use the "mono" setting rather than the "center channel". I can now laugh and cheer during the performances without recording myself!!!
I also built a "sound barrier" by lining a cardboard box with carpet. I put the mic in the box with the opening facing the stage. That helped further cut back on noise from the audience and ventilation system. When the mic was way inside the box, it gave a muffled sound, but when it was near the opening it worked great. (Always test first, before recording a one-time event.)
The range is fantastic - at least as well as advertised.
I wish I had some clue how long the AAA batteries last in the mic/transmitter. I recorded a 3-hour play with no problem, but put in fresh ones before the next performance. I'd hate to have them run out in the middle of the play, and I have no idea if they last for 4 hours or 40 hours. If you are doing an interview, it's not a big deal because you could interrupt and pause to put in new batteries.
For my purposes, I wish it was a "stereo" mic, but for the more typical use, where you mic an individual, mono makes sense. I do not subtract any points for it given the price and the fact that I knew this before purchasing.
Better sound greatly improves your "video". I recommend this product.
Great.......2007-10-31
This item did exactly what it is suppose to and very well. Set up in 10 seconds too.
Buyer Beware.......2007-08-16
I wrote Sony asking if this item was compatible with my Sony Camcorder because the website information was unclear. The Sony rep. assured me it was, so I bought the mic...it wasn't compatible. After causing a stink with Sony, all they said is that they were not responsible for the website info or the rep.
What a great product.......2007-07-27
I have used this product in many different applications and have been very impressed with its performance. The range meets or exceeds the specified range. I bugged a church van during a scavenger hunt and they never knew it was there and I was able to capture their teamwork for a video of our youth program. The range was great. The audio quality is great too. I have used it for an interview as well as many other applications. The wind does get picked up a little even with the wind screen on (but it is still the best performing microphone I have used for my Sony DSR-300 video camera). I would recommend it over a shotgun mic any day of the week. Having a microphone separate from the camera also removes any mechanical noise that the camera makes (motor drive of the tape or any minor bumps that the camera takes. It makes your camera look a little strange with the receiver but it is well worth it. The light is a little annoying on the receiver but if you put the wind screen on you cannot see it at all. A must have for anyone who wants to improve their audio quality on their videos.

Dissapointed, but you get what you pay for........2007-12-15
Cons:
Flemsy: Must be very gentle or you will break off legs.
Cheap parts: Screws and bolts strip very easily, plastic isn't very durable, and the whole thing is not built very squarely. Have to finagle and shimy things to get them level.
Not small: Fully closed it is still 21" my good tripod is only 24"! This really doesn't seem travel to me. And if you put it in a bag I am sure that it would be broken by the time you got where you were going.
Pros:
Cheap.
It works, kind of.
Clamp locks for legs.
The mini tripod is cool, I think they were trying to make up for the horrible travel tripod.
I would only use this tripod to set up a camera for still shots. If you plan on moving other than picking the whole thing up and moving, get something else. If it were not as cheap as it was I would have returned it. But I think the mini tripod was worth the small amount payed.
A good buy.......2007-12-14
This tripod is a good for occasional use. Some parts are flimsy and it could use instructions which do not come with it. But for the price it's a good buy.
NOT WHAT I WANTED.......2007-10-31
THIS TRIPOD IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT IF YOU NEED GOOD STEADY FOOTING FOR YOUR CAMERA. THE HEAD IS MADE OF PLASTIC NOT METAL..IT MAKES YOUR CAMERA BOUNCE...THE OPTION OF QUICKLY REMOVING THE CAMERA FROM THE TRIPOD IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT YOU FEEL AS IF THE MECHANISM WILL BREAK IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
THIS TRIPOD IS NOT RECOMMENDED BY ME. THE PRICE IS CHEAP BUT SO IS THE MERCHANDISE...NOT GOOD FOR THE PRICE...FEELS LIKE A PLASTIC TOY.

Great product for the price........2007-08-30
This product is really nice for the price. I just needed a decent tripod for a 3 week trip so I didn't want to spend too much money, but wanted something still nice. I really like the travel bag and how when the tripod is not inside, the tripod section can be folded up and stored under the velcro flap making it less bulky. The actual tripod is better than expected and even works with my Canon D SLR Rebel XTi. It is very light weight which is great for traveling, but it can be a little wobbly when moving so take care when adjusting it so that it doesn't fall over if you have a heavy camera on it. It works great with my Nikon Coolpix S7c also. The mini tripod in the handle is best for smaller cameras, but still a nice addition for certain shots. I also like the flip locks for extending the legs instead of twisting locks. Overall this product is worth the price and more.
Product met expectations.......2007-08-03
This product met my expectations. The carrying case is a nice bonus and I like that the little tripod is stored within the larger tripod. This meets my needs.

Nice Case.......2007-07-17
This is a nice case for keeping your equipment safe. It can be used for just about any camera large or small and has a professional look to it. Can hold more than one small camera. Great for the price. Costs more if store bought.

Cuts cornes, but worth the savings.......2007-07-02
I agree that this product is absolutely worth the savings compared to the equivalent name-brand battery. It doesn't tell you when it's done charging, but in camera mode, it did tell us that we had a full battery. It would be nice to have that extra feature, but that feature isn't worth the cost of name-brand. I'd rather buy several of these batteries for the same amount of money.
When it says equivalent....it means it........2007-05-26
This product is very much worth the money saved by not getting the name brand. It gives you at least 2 hours worth of battery. The only thing I didn't like was it didn't tell you when it was fully charged...the charge minutes just stopped increasing....but that's a small price to pay for the money saved. I very much recommnend this battery, good product.
