Sound fades in and out like waves and goes from one ear to the other making me dizzy. It doesn't matter if rechargeable batteries or regular batteries are used. Total crap.

These headphones would be a great product for the price, if it wasn't for one BIG problem. The person who designed the cushions for the ears must've been a complete moron. Your ears will hurt after a few minutes of use. The way the spongy material is positioned doesn't protect your ear at all, and it's like wearing a metal vice right against your ears. Trust me - spend a few extra dollars and buy something you'll be satisfied with. I may be able to salvage this purchase, by adding some cushion material myself...

First off i got these for free because it was a drawing and i won.... (i shouldnt be complaining but i am)
Alright the headphones arnt very snug against my head and if i look down too fast they slip right off... so it would have been nice if the ear speakers were adjustable but they are not, thats my first problem
second is: Im maybe ohhhhh 10 feet or so away from the reciver and if i put my hand or something just above the top band of the head phones i get hit with major static, or if i accidently touch the battery compartment i get hit with static too... even if i turn my head to quickly i get hit with static also.... i mean come on its wireless and i expect to get some static but not that frequent!
Lastly i was hoping that they could be used for when im a passanger in a car, or walking around (further than 150ft), and learned that u need to be next to an Oulet the whole time for these to even work.. disapointed on that part, because for me i can only think of 2 things to do with these
1. Watch tv @ night
2. Use when picking up around the house and working out side (within 150ft)....
All in all BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!... Im thinkin about selling 'em cause they are useless to me... honestly standard headphones i think work perfectly fine... So save ur money and get a different brand or just buy other headphones....

I am not sure if it is because I live in an appartment building or because I have power lines outside my living room window (I live on the 2nd floor so they're right at my level)or if people in my neighborhood use a lot of 900Mhz phones but the sound quality is simply awful.
My only purpose was to be able to play games on my Xbox without bothering anybody else so I am not even talking about an audiophile seeking crystal clear and rich sound, a decent sound clarity would have enough for me. Sitting no more than 7ft from my TV, sound gets cut-off and the static goes from bad to unbearable when you adjust the dial on the base. Same results with regular TV broadcast and when plugged into my laptop playing music.
I don't know if the product is bad or if my environment makes it work poorly but if you're considering this brand/model make sure you have the ability to return it!
I guess I'll go back to my previous solution: standard headphones with a 15ft extension cable, which are fine since I don't need to be moving around.

Cheaply made and range is awful. They cut out anywhere from 3 feet on. Try another brand and you will be much more satisfied.

sound cuts in and out frequently and as close as 10 feet away from base. I recommend getting the Sharper Image Wireless headphones.

Sound quality is good -- when they work. Since they work via radio waves, they still work when you go to the bathroom, if the bathroom is within range. That's the end of the positives on these headphones.
Reception from even from just 7 feet away can be spotty, and they tend to cut in and out. Some times there's hissing.
These are especially bad for use with video, as opposed to listening to music. The base that comes with the headset houses the transmitter, and a green LED on the front indicates when it's transmitting. When there's no signal, the base turns the transmitter off. So, when watching a video, if there's a quiet passage, after a delay the transmitter will turn off, and there will be a loud hissing in the headset. When the sound in the video comes up again, there will be a slight delay before the transmitter comes back on, and some dialogue is missed, so you have to hit the "back" button on the DVD remote if you want to recover the lost dialoge.
These headsets are fairly comfortable for the first half hour, but they rest right on your ears, so after a while they become uncomfortable, even painful.
For most people I would recommend infrared cordless headsets over 900MHz Wireless. That's what I will replace these with.

Do NOT buy these headphones. If you do, you WILL regret it.
These RCA 900MHz Wireless Headphones (WHP160T) wireless headphones DO NOT work well at all. I have to be INCHES away from the antenna to get any signal at all (and it cuts in and out even then), there's hissing, and the sound quality under the hissing is very poor.
These headphones had one good customer review on amazon which stated that hissing, and signal cutting in and out problems (which MANY of the other reviews complained about) were resolved with some WD-40 as a contact cleaner on the potentiometer that tweaks the 900 MHz broadcast frequency. It was on the basis of this review that I bought these things. I am now convinced that that review was fiction.
The problem with these things is that "Thompson Consumer Electronics" or "RCA" or whoever manufactures these headphones has simply put a piece of JUNK out onto the market.
The "original packaging" has been pretty much destroyed because it is, in fact, impossible to get into the package without destroying the packaging. Many products are packaged that way these days, so Beach Audio's "original packaging" requirement for returns is really pretty ludicrous. I complained to Beach Audio about this product, and they did NOT respond to my e-mail.
Headphones that are durable!.......2006-01-02
I've gone through many set of headphones of the years. These have stood the test of time for me. I've dropped them hard to the ground so many times on accident that it's not even funny. They work without a hitch. I'm happy enough with the range of 30 feet, I just like them for being able to walk around from place to place (drawing table to computer back to drawing table to the living room to the bathroom) I'm pretty antsy and pace an awful lot so to me these are a godsend. The range would probably be even better except the double thick fireproof sheetrock our walls are made out of causes it to lose signal a bit when you hop to a different room. It has an autosearch button on the headphones though so it's easy to pick back up the signal if they don't grab it automatically for you. It's not a big deal to me. I got these on a clearance sale for an embarrasingly low price and have been happy as hell with them. I've I'd know how nice they'd be I would have gotten them for gifts for people.

And it really is nice being able to get up and move around with no wires. Very liberating. I now have wireless keyboard+mouse and now headphones. I was constantly untangling and adjusting keyboard, mouse and headphone wires..No more!
Yes it was the best 24 dollars I have spent in a long time.
Will get another 2 more of these..I wonder if they can all be tuned to use the same frequency?
