Does the job at a low cost!.......2007-12-21
After shopping around at several stores, I was starting to think I was going to have to spend $20-$30 for a sports band for my ipod nano, until I looked to Amazon.com. This sports sleeve is exactly what is needed for someone looking for a simple protective case/sleeve for when you are working out when using an ipod...and you can't beat the price!
Good, not perfect.......2007-12-17
This is a decent and effective armband, and at the price, it's hard to beat. But there are a couple of disadvantages buyers should be aware of. First, the strap is pretty long. That's fine with me, but if your arms are tiny, this thing is going to fit very loosely.
Second, there's a screen protector -- just a piece of clear plastic -- but if you don't look carefully for it, you're bound to throw it out with the packaging, as I did. It's attached to the packaging with tape, and the tape on mine had dried out and was impossible to remove without damaging the protector itself. So, no protector.
The case itself is black rubber and fits the ipod a bit loosely and thus it tends to move around. That's not a total disadvantage since you'll have to push the case away from the connectors every time you want to sync or attach the headphones. That's because the case, just barely overlaps the relevant ports. Not a big disadvantage, just an annoyance.
On the good side, the armband is easily removeable, so you can keep the ipod in your pocket, with the case on, but without the bulk of the strap. That's a big win. And there's no plastic covering the scroll wheel. I've seen other armbands (Apple's, for example) with plastic coverings there and they tend to make the scroll wheel unresponsive. Also, the rubber feel of the case is good and it clearly protects the ipod and makes it easier to hold (because it's not slippery). The fact that it's black is good -- it doesn't show dirt. Finally, the armband feels quite good -- a nice amount of stretch, not too much.
All in all, I'd buy it again. And at the price it's a great deal. But if it were to cost more, I wouldn't be so sure.
A great fit!!!.......2007-12-01
It fits great and suits its purpose! Also half the price then a Nike arm band!
Can't use it but LOOKS good.......2007-11-28
Well I was a dummy and made an assumption: that my wannabe ipod would fit properly in this... it doesn't (it fits, but the "windows" don't line up so I can't access the controls and part of the screen is blocked). So I have been unable to use it.
However, I like the neoprene (is that what it's called? I think so...) material that was used and the arm band looks like it's made of the same material as the armband I have to carry my ID card in, which is pretty comfy.
Did not like the little plastic protector that it comes with to cover your screen. What a mess that thing was, i couldn't get it properly in place and then when i did, it wouldn't stay there. It should just be a part of the case, not something you stick on there.
Durable iPod holder.......2007-11-12
I did a lot of research before buying one of these. I was committed to losing weight, and received an iPod as a birthday gift. This has been very durable. I have used it almost daily for the last 6 months, and the quality is good - no rips or tears. Comfortable to wear.

Customer Reviews:
Light and sleek, Great Sound for the Price!.......2007-12-21
I recently bought this unit as a gift for under $70. I took it for a test drive just to make sure it worked and I must say that I was very impressed - was even thinking about keeping it for myself!
Anyhoo, as far as appearance goes it's very sleek/sophisticated looking, not like some of the goofy ipod-systems I've seen out there. It's also fairly compact and lightweight so if u DO need to carry it around, you won't have to pack/insulate it in the original packaging box (my friend has to do this with his Bose system b/c of its shape).
As others have observed, the sound quality is fairly rich and full at low to medium volumes (great for a bedroom). However, as you increase the volume higher and higher, the bass gets a little distorted and it starts to sound a bit hollow (not great for a living room). But given the price I paid, I still think I made off like a bandit!!
Simple yet spectacular.......2007-12-21
These speakers are absolutely amazing. The bass response it offers is far better than I had expected and the clarity is incredible. The wireless remote has a very good range. The simple design adds to its beauty because you can keep the speakers anywhere and they will just blend in. I haven't tried operating them on battery power so I cannot comment on that. Only one thing I would have preferred which is not offered in any speakers (even the ones that cost over $300) is the ability to chose whether or not to charge the ipod because using it this way and charging it all the time could reduce the life of the battery in my opinion but that is just something no company has seemed to include in their speakers and not something specific to these speakers. I would highly recommend these speakers as there is no competition for them at a price of just $60.
Pros: Decently priced, respectable bass response, crisp clear.
Cons: No option to select whether ipod should be charged or not
Great for the price.......2007-12-16
This little unit is not, of course, going to compete with Bose or any of the other high end units out there. However, this has pretty good sound for an under $100 station. It sounded better than just about any of the other models I plugged my ipod into at a couple stores. I didn't bother with the $200 or more units, because that was more than I was willing to pay. I have a smaller house and this does more than a good job filling it with decent sound. If that's what you want, I'd say go ahead and get one. If you like to crank it till the paint peels...of course, this isn't the unit for you.
the best audio!!!.......2007-12-11
if i may rate a ten stars i do it!!!
Moderately Priced, Good Sound, Great Product!,
·the sound its very good
·the speaker its charger battery ipod
·its compatible with the ipod touch
·Brings protective case
·brings the Dock Adapter for all iPod
I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!!
Great Product.......2007-12-05
This was perfect for what I needed. It was simple to set up and the sound is good enough for me. I love the fact that it charges my ipod too. I did get startled when it began playing in the middle of the night without anyone touching it. I have no idea why it did this.

High quality digital Live recording is a cinch with the Edirol Wave R-09. The R-09 is the best way to record without carrying a trunk full of microphones and equipment. It's ultra-small, but don't let that fool you -- the R-09 is a serious, top-quality professional recorder with time-stamp capability. Capture source material at a crystal-clean 24-bit resolution, with your choice of 44.1 or 48kHz sample rates. Record and play back recordings as an MP3. A stereo microphone is built right into the unit, complete with a dedicated input control, mono/stereo selector, low-cut filter, and gain boost. Just point and record! Whether you're a songwriter looking to record new ideas, or a fan looking to record live music, recitals or rehearsals, endless audio-capturing options are yours.
The R-09 is perfect for recording live music events, recitals, and rehearsals. It's also handy as a songwriter's sketchpad, ensuring that no moment of inspiration is lost. But the R-09 has many valuable uses outside of the music world as well. Students can use it to record lectures. Broadcasters and journalists can throw away their antiquated cassette recorders and use the R-09 for in-the-field interviews ? the audio-capturing applications are endless.
The R-09 contains the world's most-requested/desired effect: reverb. Whether you're listening to WAV or MP3 files, you can route the R-09's playback through its internal reverb processor, immersing it in lush, user-controllable ambience.
To record audio into the R-09, there's no extra gear to buy or no cables to connect. A quality stereo microphone is built right into the unit, complete with a dedicated input control, mono/stereo selector, low-cut filter, and gain boost. Just point and record! R-09 also offers a 1/8" mic input if you choose to add an external mic. Records to SD card (64MB card included) High-grade stereo condenser microphone built in Mic and Line audio inputs;

Introducing the latest addition to Edirol's red-hot portable recorder lineup: the R-09. Building on the success of the R-1, the R-09 takes many of the most desired features 24-bit uncompressed recording and a built-in stereo mic and shrinks it all down into a more streamlined, stylish, and affordable package.
Feature List
- Crystal-Clear Capture
It's ultra small and looks like a gadget, but make no mistake the R-09 is a serious, top-quality professional recorder. Capture source material at a crystal-clean 24-bit resolution with your choice of 44.1 or 48kHz sample rates. You can record and play back in MP3 format as well (up to 320kbps). Once recorded, your files can be monitored through the R-09's headphone jack and/or exported to a computer via USB.
- I.A.R.C. (Isolated Adaptive Recording Circuit)
I.A.R.C. is the newly developed dedicated analog circuit optimized for recording on R-09. Electrolytic capacitors provide stable, reliable power to the analog circuits, eliminating DC interference. The R-09 offers an input gain volume control to manually adjust recording levels.
- Microphone Included
To record audio into the R-09, there's no extra gear to buy or no cables to connect. A quality stereo microphone is built right into the unit, complete with a dedicated input control, mono/stereo selector, low-cut filter, and gain boost. Just point and record! If you wish to use an external microphone, the R-09 offers a 1/8" mic input.
- Sweetening
The R-09 is more affordable than its predecessor, the R-1. One reason the R-1 carries a heavier price tag is because of its well-stocked lineup of internal effects. The R-09 isn't devoid of effects, however. It contains the world's most-requested/desired effect: reverb. Whether you're listening to WAV or MP3 files, you can route the R-09's playback through its internal reverb processor, immersing it in lush, user-controllable ambience.
- More Than Music
The R-09 is perfect for capturing live music events, recitals, and rehearsals. It's also handy as a songwriter's sketchpad, ensuring that no moment of inspiration is lost. But the R-09 has many valuable uses outside of the music world as well. Students can use it to record lectures. Broadcasters and journalists can throw away their antiquated cassette recorders and use the R-09 for in-the-field interviews. Wherever, whenever there's a need to capture audio, the R-09 can do it hassle-free thanks to its built-in microphone and long battery operation.
- USB 2.0 Connection to Computer for Rapid File Transfer
The R-09 can connect to the outside world via USB 2.0 for importing/exporting audio files via computer very quickly. For example, a 600 MB recording at 44.1 kHz/16-bit takes only 5 minutes to transfer, only 1/12 of the time it would take to transfer the same recording from a MiniDisc or tape (cassette/DAT) recorder.
Customer Reviews:
Great machine, needs careful handling.......2007-12-22
As an amauteur musician, I bought this machine as a replacement for my Sony mini-disc recorder, partly as a reaction to Sony's insane DRM policy. With that machine, even recordings made with the microphone couldn't be uploaded to the PC. With the Edirol by way of contrast, just connect the device to the PC, and the Edirol appears as an external hard disk. Copying from the Edirol is then a simple drag-and-drop operation. Others here have written about the machine's features with side-by-side comparisons with competing units. In general, the machine is a joy to use, and the manual is also very well written.
Others have written about background hiss present on live-recordings. So far, I've only used the internal microphone and I've found the record quality to be superb. The record settings I used were: AGC: off, Low cut: off, Mic gain: high. I've recorded live concerts for musician friends, and the quality was good enough to be used for a demo CD. The unit also comes with a line-in connection, with which I have connected the unit to my hifi installation, to digitise my LP collection. Again, it excels at this task.
Much has been written about the access machanism at the bottom, through which the battery compartment and SD card are accessed. It is poorly designed and hardly inspires confidence that it will not break, even with careful handling. This is the machine's only weak point IMO.
In summary: 5 stars for audio quality, with one star deducted for the poor mechanical design.
Finally , the perfect gift!.......2007-12-22
This is the best gift I have given to my musician boyfriend. His comments: Great fidelity, easy to use, breeze to transfer files to computer, recommend bumping up to a larger SD card, nice reverb for playback.
Caveat on the mic stand adapter for R-09.......2007-12-20
The ads for the R-09 mic stand adapter indicate that it lets you attach the R-09 directly to a mic stand. In fact, it doesn't. You have to buy the case and mini-tripod and then attach the case to the mic stand adapter. So instead of $25 for a mic stand adapter, plan to spend about $85 or more just to attach the R-09 to a mic stand. They should own up and change the deceptive ads.
Versitile!!.......2007-11-29
I'm a middle school band teacher. I've had my Edirol R-09 for about a month, and so far I love it. I am in the process of developing electronic protfolios for my students, and this tool has provided me with very high quality recordings that drop so amazingly quickly and easily onto my desktop to be dragged into the kid's folders. I'm also learning to podcast, and this has also given me a wonderful, portable tool to do on-the-spot interviews or recordings for that use as well. It is easy to use, easy to adjust levels, etc. and has been everything I need it to be. When I opened the box and saw it was made by Roland, a company long recognized for outstanding musical applications, I was even more satisfied that I'd made a good choice. And in response to the concerns about the battery door being easy to damage- listen folks, this is a tiny and expensive piece of electronic equipment- expect to treat it as such, and you'll be fine.
Edirol good deal.......2007-11-25
The Edirol R-09 is lightweight and silent. You need a 2gig card, so add that expense to the bill. The weakness is the battery access door which is flimsy, but not that difficult to manage.

Customer Reviews:
Just what I was hoping for.......2007-08-24
I'm impressed with this little thing. The case is well-made and has a very solid feel. The Nano fits perfectly into the skin and into the MiniBlaster. I didn't have difficulties with the fit like others mentioned. Getting the Nano out takes some pushing, but that's the way it should be. You don't want it falling out on it's own and hitting the pavement. All the Nano controls are accessible. The front, circular control (volume/scroll) works fine through a silicon skin and is very protected.
The reason we buy this thing is for sound and size. Size and weight are impressively minimal. You won't beat that anywhere. As for sound, it's not a home entertainment center or a Bose IPod system - it's a tiny little device that offers maximum portability. If you can bring your Bose system along with you, then do it. If you need something small and more portable, then read on.
The sound has a distinct clarity. Mids to highs are crisp and well separated. What you loose is bass. It's attenuated, but not dull or muddy. I wasn't expecting strong bass with a frequency response of 450Hz to 20KHz. It's not built for it and shouldn't be expected.
It's made, as others have said, for you and a couple of friends in an environment without too much ambient noise. If you are looking for a system that you can play at a beech party with a big group of friends, keep looking, because this isn't it. Too many voices chatting away will drown this little thing out.
In a reasonably quiet room or out on the trail, you get enough volume to really enjoy the music. It's loud enough to hear the detail in the sound. It even gets too loud for conversations and has to be turned down. Don't get me wrong, the neighbors won't be calling or stomping on the floor. It has what it needs to fill the niche that it's designed for.
I personally like the sound with the EQ set to "Small Speakers" - seems like a good balance for Classic Rock which I tend to listen to the most.
If you want a small, light and very portable speaker system to free you from headphones and make portable music a social experience between friends again, then you are onto something.
Enjoy!
Great for use while traveling.......2007-08-11
I wanted to be able to listen to podcasts and my own music while commuting and so first purchased (for $80) an FM converter that plugged into the lighter and my iPod and then matched an unused frequency to play what was on the iPod. The sound wasn't great and it changed depending on where I was driving. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right static frequency and match it with the device. In the short time that I tried it out I had to switch frequencies twice.
So, I looked for a speaker. I decided that it wouldn't be a disaster to buy something at this price to try even if it didn't work great. It was what I was looking for! I can use it in the car and also other places where I want to play what is on my ipod so that others can hear. It is not great sound quality, but it is much better than what I was getting with the FM converter and much easier. I can either use batteries or the AC adaptor (I already have a device that converts the cigarette lighter into AC power).
It is a great solution for what I was looking for.
Good Product.......2007-07-26
I recommend this product over similar products that are outrageously expensive. Powerful sound for it's size and easy to use. Great value.
Wow, under 15 bucks including shipping!.......2007-07-04
Don't expect too much bass out of -any- tiny speakers but as a way to turn your nano into a sort of 21st century "transistor radio" equivalent with stereo audio and a better sound quality, this little thing is superb. Talk radio podcasts are delivered very clearly and music can be enjoyed to an extent especially if you choose an appropriate EQ setting on your nano. Volume capability is decent, just don't expect to entertain an audience bigger than about two or three. Battery life is good for the 4x AAA batteries.
JLab Audio.......2007-06-08
The sound is good from the Miniblaster, but getting my Ipod in and out of it is a real chore!! It is very difficult to do. It not only is very hard to place in the miniblaster, but getting it out is even worse. I like the size of it as it doesn't take up a lot of room when I place it on the counter. Just difficult to use. It is also hard to adjust the volume with the "skin" on it.

Great sound quality for such a tiny package.......2007-11-05
I bought the miniblaster portable speaker in December 2006. I was amazed at the quality of the sound for such tiny speakers. Now, almost one year later, the speakers are still going strong. If you are looking for good quality pocket size speakers, these are a good choice.
A Great iPod Speaker........2007-08-08
It is tiny, compact (no wiggley parts to break off) it runs on batteries as well as AC and I am completely delighted with it.JLab Audio MBBG1 Miniblaster Portable Speaker for iPod Nano (Gen 1) - Black
STOP THINKING AND BUY IT.......2007-07-28
Best bang for the buck...i read all the reviews. just buy it. you can't beat $15 shipped. it gets the job done.
Excellent Company.......2007-06-11
My 11 year old daughter saved her $$ and did some on line research and ended up buying these. She loved them for the size which allowed her to take them into bed, on the bus etc. The audio in my opinion was "OK", but she was very happy.
We had bought them along with their noise reducing ear buds which I use while traveling in planes. I can wear them x- country very comfortably
Unfortunately we had technical problems and contacted JBL. I happened to email them on a Sunday afternoon and in about 15 minutes a real person (Josh) responded. A real person.... on a Sunday!!
He resolved the issue- which ultimately required a warranty replacement.
I cannot say enough good things about this company and Josh. I woudl buy their products again without hesitation
What a disappointment........2007-05-26
On my first foray into looking for the perfect mini speaker for my Ipod, I bought the Aiptek Mist for Nano (not realizing it only works with Gen 2 Nano)---boy, was it a cute little thing. Disappointed they don't make that product for Gen 1 Nanos, I searched Amazon for the perfect replacement mini speaker that would work with my Nano Gen 1. The JLab Miniblaster had 4 stars. Folks, speak up, because I cannot be the only one who was shocked by the low quality of this product!!
*When I first plugged it in, you couldn't hear anything because of interference from my TV remote!
*When I finally heard sound it was fuzzy at best and never got much better
*The volume level is only a smidgen better than what I can hear through my earbuds when they are out of my ears!
I read and re-read the direction and am convinced I did everything properly. I even tried it with battery power only, in the house, out of the house. No luck. This is a lousy product and I am giving it one star. This is being shipped back today.

Bright and huge!.......2007-12-02
This display is not only nice to look at but provides excellent picture quality. It provides a sharp picture with bright, rich colors. And it's 20" size is ample for what I do. I found no defects in mine. Though it could be cheaper, it's worth the $600 I spent on it.

I cannot find any missing pixels...brightness and color are great.
Only blemish is a small spot on the lower front of the aluminum frame
where the anodizing failed to cover the spot.

The major reason we bought new displays was their large size and widescreen aspect ratio which provides plenty of desktop space and obviates the need for scrolling when working with wide applications, which are becoming fairly common these days. When we chose our ViewSonic displays we both really wanted this 20" Apple display which had the best picture of all the displays we viewed. We didn't buy this Apple display because, at that time, it was too high priced for our budget. But now Apple has reduced the price of this outstanding display, and it now clearly is the best choice in a 20" widescreen LCD display. Maybe my wife and I should consider selling our very good ViewSonic displays and replacing them with this topnotch Apple model which we bother admire so thoroughly. If you are looking for a widescreen LCD display please check out this gorgeous Apple display whether you use a PC or a Mac.
Awesome display.......2007-03-14
This is an amazing display. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is because of the price. I think that its definitely worth it though. I could've gotten a display for less but I wanted it to match my macbook pro. The amount of real estate on it is incredible. It's also extremely bright, my eyes are still having to adjust to that when the display is on. All in all, apple does it again. The only thing is I hope they don't update it soon cuz i Just got it.
Use a PC? Beware. Apple's attempt to 'reach out' is non-existent.......2007-01-08
I know this monitor is top of the line. (Another big name brand also uses the same high quality S-IPS panel... but that brand seems to have far more complaints of defects despite being half the price... electronics aren't the same as the actual panel...) Back to the panel itself: The panel used is a drool-worthy .0258 dot pitch, true 8-bit, terrific viewing radius, and perfect for graphics uses (though colors should not look like they're 3D as some reviewers on 'net sites claim, that's an unwanted distortion and graphics designers usually want consistency and accuracy. So do their customers. This leads into my gripe I shall now adumbrate upon:)
My big gripe is the purported PC support, of which it gets 4 stars knocked off.
I pre-ordered one of these and then did some research as I had to wait a day for it to arrive. Glad I had, and I truly wish I could have kept the monitor; I was floored by its quality and specs.
The USB ports won't work on a PC. Fine by me, I don't care about USB ports on a monitor. Some will, so that's a caveat if you use a PC.
What I am bothered with is the lack of a Windows ICM and INF driver. That's outrageous. Especially for the price and PC compatibility claims Apple makes. This means some extra color calibration is going to have to be done and the end result is going to be an approximation (beware if anyone says the colors almost seem 3D. That's not always a plus...). Apple ought to know better than this; anyone in mid-end (or higher) professional graphics can not settle for "approximations".
Indeed, because Apple has nothing on its website and attitudes from folks on their own discussion forum that make Linux zealots come across as heavenly angels by comparison, one has to resort to freeware (that's currently at version 0.4!) to use the monitor as there aren't any settings to be found on Apple's casing, except brightness and power. Yawn. Another toy.
I would have expected even a token Windows driver, but when many reviewers have said "Get the freeware, there is no Windows driver provided", that's enough for me to avoid it.
Now some Apple fans might say "Ha ha Windoze user, PC product vendors have been doing this to us for ages so get used to it." I say in return "Well, those device drivers aren't covering every nuance like the PC equivalent does, but at least they grant you base functionality and a driver when they say it's Mac compatible! Apple's own actions are showing the contrary as there is no Windows driver at all." Touche.
So I returned it. I did not want to pay a 15% open-box restock fee for something I'd have to tinker with and may or may not be satisfied with in the end.
And, no, I can't afford the cost of a new Mac whose specs would match my current PC (that cost me less than half as much for the same amount of power, especially when it's only repurchasing Intel components, that's ridiculous.)
Sorry to be so negative as there is a lot to LOVE about this monitor, but those not in the majority position would do better to win converts by truly reaching out to them.
If you're a Mac user, go for it. Apple knows how to make terrific monitors. If you're a PC user, it will work - just don't expect instant gratification, USB ports, or Windows telling you what the brand of monitor is. Be satisfied with "unknown monitor on ___________ video card" using default VESA color settings. That's a bit risky and even Mac users on that Apple forum said to be wary for such an expensive item... and that's good enough for me.
I will add this: A 1 year warranty is unacceptable, regardless of brand. I always advocate purchasing an extended warranty, but a 1 year warranty is the manufacturer's way of telling the consumer "We lack faith in our product" and/or "If there's a problem, we want you to pony up for our bad design".

Perfect for the gym.......2007-12-04
This is the best way to take your ipod to the gym - handsfree and no pockets needed, no clips, no bulky thing on your arm. I also like that I can take the earbuds out and just leave them dangling and quickly get them back on without having to untangle everything.
No big deal.......2007-03-28
Thought it would highly increase the iPod experience, but sound quality is not even better than standard iPod earphones. Already sold them.
All plugged up.......2007-03-27
Even coming with three sizes of of "ear gasket", using the smallest I'm afraid these headpohones still don't fit comfortably, and the 'seal' it creates on the ear is terrible. If you work out and sweat, it becomes even more atrocious, and as you adjust the headphones, the gaskets slip out of place; they're keyed to the headphone, but they don't stay in place. I am fairly dissatisfied with these In Ear headphones, and would not recommend them to anyone.
Dont waste your money.......2007-02-12
this product stinks. The buds didnt stay in my ears. The plug that connects to the ipod didnt stay securley fastened. This product is worthless in my opionion.
you get what you pay for...........2007-01-11
i was so excited when i found these lanyard headphones had been marked down from $50 to 14.77...then i found out why..no matter what size ear cover you use they just don't stay in your ear!! i still like the idea of the ipod hanging around your neck, but i think i am going back to my original ear buds and might try a arm band...these were really disappointing ;-(

Apple screws me for first and last time.......2005-08-02
Well, I got the laptop on time from Amazon. Good job by them.
Ok, now to Apple. It's not even 1 month after I bought the thing and they upgraded it. That's lousy. I heard that upgrading a computer and selling it for the same price without warning is a constant "feature" of Macintosh computers. But..less than a month of use and already there is a memory, wireless, and video upgrade? That just plain sucks. How about charging more for more? Hello-If you like losing customers...Just keep up your current practices. I changed my mind from buying a PC for this Mac ...but I'll never do that again. Back to PC's for me. Great policy Apple!!
This is cool get it!!.......2005-06-11
This iBook is the best computer i have ever used. The os is great Much beter than xp. My dad gave me two getting an c- on the ITBS. Apple's great macintel !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shiny Apple.......2005-06-06
Elegant. That's the word I've used to describe this laptop since buying it. You can put Jane Hathaway in a ball gown, but she's still homely. This thing is more like Jackie Kennedy. It's got the ball gown, but it also speaks French and doesn't snort at dinner parties.
I've read quite a few of the reviews for the iBook 14". I, like many reviewers, I am a new convert to Apple. I used the old (first generation?) Macs in college in the mid-80's, and loved them then. PCs were just bulkier, uglier, and tougher to navigate. PCs have obviously come a long way, and so have Apples.
I bought my iBook at CompUSA, which had an 18 month no interest promotion on all computers, which got my attention. I'm not a huge nerd, but I do spend a lot of time online and do a lot of digital photography. I also am president of my homeowner association, so I do quite a bit of writing--meeting minutes, newsletters, etc. I talked with the nerds (IT guys) at work, telling them that I was about to buy a laptop. We use Dell at work, and I found a great deal on a Dell at Costco.com. I showed them the deal, and they agreed it was a good price, but I might need a few upgrades. Several of these IT guys mentioned an Apple as a choice. I didn't feel like learning a new operating system, so I actually placed the order for the Dell.
Believe it or not (and I hope this doesn't turn too many people off), it was Rush Limbaugh who made the best arguments for Apple for me. He was talking to a listener who had called him asking which computer would be best for his daughter who was entering graduate school. Rush (a technophile) suggested the PowerBook and went down a laundry list of reasons to choose Apple over PC. At the top of the list (like many of the lists here) is the fact that there are virtually no virus issues with Macs. I turned the car around and went to CompUSA to check out the (small and somewhat neglected) Mac department. I cancelled my order for the Dell and bought my friendly little iBook.
There's no vert like a convert, and I'm convinced. I've always thought Apple people were just a little too fanatic. Now I see why. Frankly, I wish Apple would just offer a serious money back guarantee. I'm convinced that once most people get one of these things home and find out that there's NOT much of a learning curve, and the lack of heat, exceptional speed (I did upgrade to 768 MB RAM), and available MS Office for Mac, they'd forget all about getting their money back and decide they got a realy good deal.
5 Stars, but this iBook Wants More Ram.......2005-04-11
I have a friend of a friend who works at an Apple store and just recenlty he let me play with all the new stuff, some old stuff too and here is my impression of the new, improved 14 inch iBook. First off, and I feel like shouting this, but I won't, how come Apple is still putting out iBooks without enough ram to run them properly? After all these years of releasing underpowered machines, they finally came 'round right with the PowerBooks by bumping up the ram to 512 megs instead of the lousy 256 they're pushing the iBooks out the door with. So add another 75 bucks to the price. Which is still a pretty good deal, considering now that Apple has built in Airport Extreme. This machine comes with the combo drive and unless you need to record video it'll do you fine and you'll save a couple hundred bucks to boot over the model with the Superdrive.
This G4 is way speedier than the old iBook 700 I'm still using. That old G3 processor just does not measure up to the G4. However the screen seems brighter and crisper.
I'd just love to give this computer a five star rating, but shame on you Apple for not bumping up the ram. You have made a darn fine machine, otherwise, and the ram required to run System X right would have made it just about perfect.

Don't make the mistake of the masses, switch to a Mac.......2005-03-26
After all of my life using Windows software, Windows-based OS, systems built for the flawed programs and having my computers overtaken with spyware, bugs, worms, viruses, adware etc... I did about a years worth of on-line research and took the plunge into buying a laptop that only 5% of the population acknowledges. I am thoroughly impressed and surprized at how happy this computer has made my computing needs enjoyable.
First off, as other readers have said 1.33 GHz vs. 2.whatever processer speeds don't really mean a whole lot. (compared it to friends 2.4GHz and my ibook was faster) So, don't let these well publicized numbers sway you
Second, NO VIRUSES! Let me say that again...NO VIRUSES! The platform apple uses for their OS is rock solid. Most Mac users use no anti-virus, spyware, adware etc. programs because there is not (to my knowledge) a way to infiltrate the system. NO VIRUS CONCERNS!!!
Third. The programs in the mac are so intuitive...The computer was built by Apple, the programs were built by Apple...so everything is where it should be. It is easy to find everything you want and nothing you don't. This part is hard to put into words. Basically, if you need a file you can find it, easy.
Fourth. Other computers may look initially enticing by their low prices...but buyer beware...don't compare apples to oranges. The only two purchases/upgrade I think are essential are to max out RAM (which should be done by yourself to save big $$$, which doesn't void your warrantee (apple actually gives you directions to do so and it's very easy)) and to buy Microsoft Office if you must comply with most who use Microsoft for easy cross communication between platforms.
I will NEVER buy another computer system which solely operates on Microsoft products, with viruses, files scattered throughout, crashing, etc...I wouldn't even consider it.
Do your research, talk to some apple owners, you won't miss you're PC for a minute once you have that beautiful mac in your possession.
So many other reasons to switch...once you own a Mac, you'll never go back.

Macally IceClip is a Snap-on clip which allows your iPod shuffle to stay attached to your belt.
Customer Reviews:
At least it works.......2007-06-09
This belt clip is pretty bulky, but the real problem is that it is difficult to turn your shuffle on and off. You have to take it out of the belt clip (not that easy if you're wearing it) in order to turn it on and off. That said, you can't exactly go to the apple store to find accessories for the old shuffles anymore. If you can find another one you should probably go with that one, if not... it's cheaper than buying a new shuffle.
