I'm Happy - But...........2007-12-31
I'm very happy with the product - But I was at first baffled by the encryption option, because I did not read anything about it being on there. I was not wanting or needing any encrytion. I have now bypassed this and am very happy and will be buying another one or two in the future.
DONT buy this flash drive, after 1 month it just died........2007-12-14
Don't buy this flash drive, after 1 month it just died on me. It will not activate on any computer, no light on the drive, no indication on the computer that a USB device was plugged in. It's simply dead weight. a real shame since i had all my passwords installed on there using roboform, and all the utilities i use to fix other peoples computer. Any ideas to recover files would be helpful... but be forewarned.
Great Flash Drive.......2007-11-20
This Flash Drive is excellent. I have had it for 3 months now and it is one of my best flash drives. It performs great and is just as good as my Sandisk Titanium. I like the rubber body's feel and durability. It came with a broad neck strap which I do not use, a extension cable for the usb, and a mini cd with TrueCrypt on it. Overall if you can get this at a reasonable price you can not go wrong.

This flash drive works very well. I am able to get 7-8 MB/s write and 12-13 MB/s read times. If you really want to have a fast drive, then go for one of the corsair 'red wing' drives, but they cost twice as much. The rubber on the outside gives it a secure feel. Just don't lose the cap!
It is smaller than it looks in the picture. I would not recommend keeping it on your keychain, as the hole in it is just through the rubber and seems like it would break if attached to a keychain. Also, it will pick up lint easily if kept in your pocket.
excellent flash drive.......2007-08-06
I bought this flash drive, because i needed some place to store my music. I know, a lot of people have 20, 40, or 80 gig ipods. I don't need that much or want that much. My stereo has a USB input and so I thought that i could use this device to store all my music "in" my stereo. I only filled it up halfway with music, but it works extremely well. Corsair made this Flash Drive to be durable as well, and that fits my standards very well, 'cause I'm always runnin' around and my keychain is constantly bouncing around. Transporting the drive on my keychain works just fine.
In short, love it 'cause it's got a lot of space, really affordable, and it's extremely durable.

Good Budget Drive.......2007-11-28
I bought this drive because it was on sale from Circuit City and was very reasonably priced for the storage size (4GB). It is my first thumb drive. It is extremely compact and very very light. The build quality seems decent, but not extraordinary. The thumb slider works well, and it is nice not to have to worry about losing a cap for the USB drive.
One thing to keep in mind is that this is not the fastest drive in the world. It took a good while to transfer 2GB of files onto the drive. While this is not an issue for my purposes, you might want to keep this in mind if you are intending to use the drive to transfer large amounts of data back and forth. For me, I just want a back up of many files and be able to pull them off the drive when I need to and the drive works very well for that.
The price storage ratio really can't be beat - 4GB - which would have cost a king's ransom before, is now rather affordable with this drive.
In operation, the drive was very easy to use. Just plug it in and it works. Drive packaging says Vista compatible, and it comes from Kingston which makes a generally good product.
If you just need a reasonably priced drive to store files and be very light so that you don't notice it, then this is the drive for you.

As an update to this review, I've now used the drive on several different computers and it has worked flawlessly on each. It is also much much faster than it was the first time I used it. This leads me to believe that the problem was with the network from which I was copying files and had nothing to do with this drive. Thus, I would probably increase my review to 4 1/2 stars, with a 5 stars to be given if it had a metal casing. The plastic casings on all of these drives seems a little flimsy. Otherwise, an excellent drive.

You don't have to buy this to get free and seamless encryption for jump drives if you are using XP, Vista or even Windows 2000.
There IS NO SOFTWARE INSTALLATION when you insert the drive, instead the DTSP_Launcher.exe applet will autorun (if enabled) and walk you through the password setup process, and create a custom hint.
If you fail to enter the password 10 consecutive times, the disk will destroy the protected data with a thorough wipe, we couldn't restore the data with Sysinternals Disk Commander or SmartUnDelete.
Data transfer from the encrypted partition is slower than other jump drives we use, it seems comparable to the latency we encounter when using NTFS EFS formatted disks.
The disadvantage to NTFS EFS is you have to import the decryption certificate / key onto any system you wish to read the encrypted data, unless the key is deleted when done then any data encrypted and stored anywhere can be read by the importing computer.
Titanium casing is plastic hybrid and has some noticeable but not necessarily arduous weight, if you are used to carrying it inside your pocket you'll notice if it falls out.

Inside Win32 DiskManager the drive appears as multiple partitions, the first is a virtual CD-ROM about 6MB in size, this contains the DTSP_Launcher.exe, the encrypted partition will appear as a Removable Disk.
The DTSP_Launcher.exe applet remains resident in the application bar tray and can be dynamically unloaded.
Overall, we recommend it because it is straightforward to use, doesn't install software onto your computer and thoroughly destroys the data when necessary.

Good product inside, cheap design outside........2007-09-11
The title pretty much says it all. I really like speed and security that comes with the flash drive but the switch-blade function eventually wore loose and fell apart within 4 weeks. Also, the key chain hole at the top of the handle popped out, which I though was a purposeful function and loved the idea of, but instead it was just not able to hold more than a few ounces of weight over the span of a more than a week or so. Solution: keep the drive safe in a pocket or briefcase instead of on a key chain.

The Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Mini Flash Drive is pretty slow. It takes forever to write something to memory. It is also slow when you play things from it. Transfers often time one because it takes so long to write the files into the flash drive's memory. You get what you pay for. It is cheap, not that reliable, not good in a hurry, but ok if you just want to store non-vital things there. I use it to unload my TiVo TCD649080 Series2 80-Hour Dual-Tuner Digital Video Recorder whenever it gets too full. It holds 2 movies and a couple of shows at the lowest quality setting. It is an ok value, just don't put anythign of vital importance in it.

La marca Kingston se ha destacado por sus excelentes productos tanto en memorias para computadora como en memorias flash USB como este Kingston de 4 GB... el precio es excelente, la capacidad de almacenamiento es muy buena, puedo tener música e información de trabajo a la vez y aún así tener espacio suficiente para cualquier documento normal de trabajo.
El único inconveniente que le veo es lo engorroso del uso de los programas con los cuales viene....es algo complicado el entrar en la zona privada que se establece y cada vez que me conecto a una computadora diferente a la mía , debo "bajar" el programa y sincronizar el pen drive para que reconozca la información.
Sin embargo, a pesar de esto, recomiendo ampliamente la compra de este pen drive... Kingston es una marca altamente confiable.
