You can see the warranty states replace! I just called them as the 4-gig drive I just bought is dead. I plugged it into the computer, transferred one small file to it and went to transfer the second and the drive was "write protected". There is no fix and I cannot remove my data from it. I found allot of people on the web that have the same problem. Nobody can fix it. Even Memorex states it cannot be fixed.
It was plugged in for 2 minutes. Memorex tells me I can ship it to them and they will send me a "reconditioned" unit. OR, I can contact the online company I bought it from and have them replace it. So, I paid $60.00 for new and got 2 min of use and they want to send me a reconditioned unit that if it happens again, they will claim there is no warranty for reconditioned product. They will not send a new one and THEY WANT ME TO SEND MY DATA TO SOMEONE ELSE.
You will also note the warranty on the web is 1 year. The warranty with the drive is 2 years. Well 2 years or 2 min. which ever comes first. I'm done. I won't do business with a multi-million dollar company that FAILS to disclose they replace product with refurbished item and makes there money by ripping off the little guy or the people who sell there product.

Works great, I put 57 HOURS of my favotite music from windows media player 10 on it & listen to my music on the company's comuters at work. Formats & re-loads easily. I'm having a good time with it.

i don't have any complaints. its pretty straight forward. just plug it in and "drag & drop". i am using it to backup my pictures. it beats having to save them to a CD b/c it is much quicker and obviously WAY more storage space. i've only used 2gb so far.

This is the best one that I've tried, easy to use. I put an icon on the desktop and sometimes work from there. And the cap fits. Plenty of space for my pictures and address book .I have three.

This is not a U3 drive. Too slow and it comes with a Portable Vault Software to encode the data. I think that i lose my money.
Disappointed with Vendor.......2007-09-24
I ordered a 4GB Mini TravelDrive U3 through J&R Music in August 2007. I received a regular TravelDrive (not U3) within a week. I contacted J&R and returned the product, using their recommended carrier (UPS), within 3 days. UPS charged me $9.20 to ship the product, bringing my total shipping charges to over $15 for a $34 product. Needless to say I was a little miffed!. To add insult to injury the product was backordered so I had to wait a few week.... I just received my replacement product, and once again it is not a U3 TravelDrive. I am upset... I'm not going to waste any more of my time nor another $9.20 on J & R Music.

I've owned this product (the real U3 version) before. This mini drive and U3 apps, including the password protection are great. I can attest to that having recently lost my mini drive. I can't imagine someone getting their hands on my data. Having owned the product before I was disappointed when I ordered and received the regular version of the drive and not the U3 drive I ordered. Like the previous reviewer I have returned the product and I'm waiting for the seller to correct what I am assuming is an honest mistake. I will update and comment further on the return in the event the seller does not handle this situation.
Best USB drive on the market.......2007-09-12
USB drive's small size and convenient connection make them a breeze to use but the small size also makes them easy to misplace...which can spell disaster considering how much data you can store on one. This drive is one of the best I've seen because it takes away one of those risks with the best implementation of security that I've used on a USB drive. I rate it a top choice because of the easy-to-use, no-brainer security feature called "U3".
I've owned USB drives with built-in biometrics (fingerprint scanner) and other encryption options, though they might seem like slick solutions, in reality they were cumbersome and unreliable. What makes this drive special is its size and the U3 software. U3 is one of the first applications designed to autolaunch without double-clicking on a program contained on the USB drive. The drive has 2 partitions, one contains the bootable U3 software partition and the other is for data storage. I've had some clients confused by the two partions, but once you understand the config you will have no problems determining where to store your data (it won't let you store any data to the U3 partition so it will be real obvious which partition is for data storage). After the initial password setup you can just pop the drive into any PC and you are instantly presented with a password prompt on the screen, type your password to unencrypt the drive and off you go!
U3 is a great feature........2007-09-06
It always kind of amazes me when people give a product a bad review because they didn't understand what they were buying. The description and packaging for this clearly states that it comes with the U3 technology and a 30 second Google search will tell you what U3 is all about. Memorex makes the very same drive without U3, why didn't you buy that? Anyway I find the U3 software great, it allow me to password protect the entire drives contents and transport applications with me for use on any PC. I have my Trillian IM client, Mozilla Thunderbird mail client and Firefox browser all running from the stick so when I get to work I have all my personal stuff and when I leave I take it all with me leaving nothing behind. I've used a 2GB version of this for over a year and just upgrade to this 4GB version and couldn't be happier. If you don't want or need the U3 features don't buy this product, get the regular 4GB version.
The other reviewers are right, Amazon is shipping a non-U3 version. They just recently updated the manufacturers part number to the non-U3 version but the description is still wrong. I just had to return my second shipment because it is not the U3 drive. This time I'm getting a refund and I'll buy it from someone who can get it right.

The external covering is made of very cheap plastic.
I tried to insert a key chain into the end square-loop- which broke with a moderate amount of pressure.
I recommend any Kingston 1GB which you can find here for half!

I bought this mainly because of the LCD display and the ability to see how much space is left on the drive. Overall this a great drive for the "coolness" factor alone but it is a tad too large to make it truely portable.

- LCD remains active even after the unit is disconnected from the USB port.
- USB 2.0 compliant so it has decent file transfer speeds
- Solid Construction that seems like it will hold up to everyday abuse
- Comes with a neckstrap.
*** Negative Points include: ***
- Quite a bit larger than the smallest drives out on the market
- The LCD display does not show you what files are actually in the drive, it merely displays a title that you select.
- The Blue activity light does not really match the overall green theme of the drive.
- Does not come with a keyring attachment
- Cap does not have an attachment so it is possible to lose it.
- As with most USB drives, you do not get the full 512mb to use. Also it loads an icon called LCMonitor although there is no documentation about what this does.
Overall this is a USB drive that sets itself apart from the rest of the crowd with its handy LCD display. If it were smaller and had some way of scrolling through the file names it would be the perfect USB drive.

When I received it, I had to check online to ensure that its a flash drive. Great! fits in the tiniest of spaces when other nearby USB ports on laptop are occupied by larger drives, and tiny spaces even in my smallest purse. I would have lost it by now, had it not been for the attached string [don't know the name]. Bought one for my nephew cuz he's more careless than I am but honestly at this price, it doesn't bother me.

The Kingmax Super Stick is incomparably small, and yet you don't have to sacrifice speed for size. I love my Kingmax flash drive for its portability, its durability and its truly amazing design. When will all the other companies get on board with Kingmax? They're at the zeitgeist of the industry as far as I'm concerned.

If you buy this, don't put it on a keychain, or carry it in your pocket. I bought mine two weeks ago and yesterday it snapped in half (without any abuse on my part.) Nice and cheap, but you get what you pay for.
