If you have an unused PCIE x1 slot, need more sata connectors but don't have anymore, then this is your best solution. Best price on the web too. Thanks Amazon. It works flawlessly. It can also be used with a SATA dvd/cd reader or burner. If you do use it for DVD or CD sata instead of HD's you may have a problem with freezing at the BIOS screen when booting up or restarting. You need to remove any media that is in the drive if this is occuring. Again while starting or restarting for some reason if you leave a dvd or cd in the drive that is connected through this card, the Bios screen will freeze. So basically if you do use it that way just take out the cd/dvd before shutting down or restarting. Works Perfectly flawless though with two 250GB western digital sata HD's. I have used many siig products throughout the years and they are definitely one of the best hardware mfg..
