i was excited about getting retractable earplugs that costs so little, but there's a reason for why it's so inexpensive. the earplugs are too small and fall out very easily. the sound quality it awful. i had to turn the volume WAY up to hear sound and when i did, it was very tinny. i just wasted 13 dollars on garbage. i expected more from panasonic... now i'm never going to buy earplugs from them.

I should have listened more to the reviews about the sound. Although the ear buds fit my ears nicely the very tin-can sound is unbearable. As far at the self-winding cord is concerned, it's not worth it. The cord frequently does not wind all the way back in to the holder. All in all, a terrible waste of $12.58. I, too, think that one star is too high when rating this product.

As an audiophile who despises the concept and quality of mp3's, I also agree that the sound quality on these headphones are bad. But I love the retractable feature, however, so to me it gets four stars for that. I use these headsets often because of their practicality, but usually not for music.

Stay away from this garbage. the sound quality is so bad there is no base at all!! the design (retractable) is appealing but you use it to listen to music. the sound is totally flat. I can get better sound quality buying one from a dollar store.
if there is a way to give it no star I would have done that.

Great product. Doesnt fit Apple iphone which i bought it for originally. had to whittle the end down(plastic part) to fit but am i ever glad that i did. So nice to have a headphone that isnt a tangled mess everytime.

I often have to travel around the country, and what else can you do at the airport other than wait at terminals, or wait in lines? Nothing much you can do except listen to your MP3 player. So, the ZipLinq retractable stereo earbuds seemed like a great idea: you simply pull back on the cord to cause the cable to retract when you need it.
The main problem is, after about a month of regular usage, the whole thing stopped retracting. No matter what I tried, I ended up having to manually pull the cable back into the spindle. After pulling it apart, I found a small metal piece that acted as a spring, and it had snapped (metal fatigue).
The secondary problem is, the sound quality couldn't compare to my run-of-the-mill Sony earbuds. Sure it was alright, but the depth of the sound, the treble pitch, and the bass all sounded hollow and not all there. Sometimes there was no bass at all!
I applaud ZipLinq for their retractable design, but they need to look at improving the assembly and audio quality, and use better materials. I wouldn't mind paying twice the price if they could guarantee at least a few years lifespan for their product.

These are junk! Poor design, fall out of my ears, ill-fitting, distant sound with no base, distorted and mine also got tangled on the retractable spool. I can't even say i'd use them for a cheap back-up.

Five minutes ago, I received this product. Four minutes ago, I ruined it. I gently pulled the buds out of the spool and immediately watched it snarl into a hideous knot. They can't come apart, so the knot stays. They're unusable. A laughable first and only experience.

These earbuds are listed for 99 cents, which seems like a great deal. But watch out for the shipping charges! The seller, BrilliantStore, inflates the shipping charge on purpose. I ordered 12 of these earbuds to use as stocking stuffers, and the shipping charges on my $12.00 purchase of items that weigh about an ounce or so apiece ended up being over $33.00! The total order was about $45.00, which is obviously significantly more than I planned to spend.
If you order just one pair of earbuds, the shipping charge does not stand out as outrageous. But if you order several of them, the seller refuses to adjust the shipping charge to reflect multiple small, lightweight items in a single box. It should cost about $5-$10 MAX to ship 12 of these earbuds.
I called BrilliantStore to have them adjust the shipping cost, thinking it was an error. They said it was not an error, and that they use the shipping charges to offset their "marketing costs." In other words, it's a bait-and-switch scheme. Their product comes up as the least expensive option among their competitors, but it doesn't really cost any less than the competitors' products do. To compound the issue, if you use One-Click buying at Amazon, you might not even notice the outrageous shipping costs until it's too late.
Since the shipping rates chart for BrilliantStore says it should cost 80 cents per pound to ship, I challenged BrilliantStore on this as well. They explained that these earbuds are listed as weighing THREE POUNDS EACH in their system and at Amazon. That's how they inflate the shipping charge. Clearly the earbuds can weigh no more than an ounce or two apiece. I pushed hard on this point, and the customer service rep had to admit that this is true. She went and checked with her supervisor, who refused to back down on the issue. I cancelled the order, obviously, and will never buy an item from BrilliantStore under any circumstances.
I registered a complaint with Amazon about this seller's unethical practices. BrilliantStore is using Amazon's system to basically defraud Amazon's customers. I hope Amazon bans this seller immediately. If you have had similar issues with BrilliantStore, please register your complaint with Amazon as soon as possible.
Even if BrilliantStore seems to offer the best deal on something, please DO NOT buy from them and reward them for attempting to cheat Amazon customers!

I bought the product a few days ago and it was great. The headphones retract and extract easily. The only problem is that the headphone's quality is a little bit worse then the original. However I would defeinitly reccommend these headphones. Searched through lots of different retractable headphones and chose this one
