I picked this drive up for around 20.00 a while back, and so far, it's done the job for me, however, every now and then, it gets really flaky.

Speed is great, but I've been getting CRC errors on occasion, including store-bought disks. This, along with the noise this thing can generate at speed really makes it hard for me to recommend this particular drive. Be careful, and do plenty of research. I wish I would have.

    I bough this drive to replace the aging DVD drive in my current system. Unfortunately, the days of picking up a cheep plain DVD drive are gone, and they have been replace with models that are CD-r drives that play DVDs as well. The burner works well, and come with Nero burning software and Power DVD 6 player, which works well. I already had a DVD burner, but for about 20 more you can likely get a DVD burner. Good price for what i wanted, available on amazon competatively, but also available at many big retail chain stores.

    I have used this drive for about two months now. It has performed flawlessly. I use it as a read drive to feed information to my DVD writer and to rip mp3's to my hard drive. I would highly recommend this drive to anyone who is looking for a feed drive or to anyone just wanting to watch DVD's or listen to music.
