Doesn't Fit Well.......2007-09-16
I had high hopes for the product but it doesn't fit well around the ears and looks awkward. I wouldn't use them at the gym.
Disappointed.......2005-09-27
Player is uncomfortable, hard to use & battery doesn't stay charged loang at all (2hrs max)

The GPX HW-6805DT 128MB MP3/WMA Headphones with FM tuner appeared to be the solution to my wireless desire for music while running or at the gym. The description offers up to 2-4 hours of music and battery life. I was completely unsatisfied with the product on every level. On a full charge the device lasted 30 minutes at best. The device also shut off on its own every so often for no particular reason. There is a small antenna that must be attached in order to use the FM tuner. That is not a big deal, but reception was still terrible. On top of the unit's malfunctions the "one size fits all" design is very uncomfortable. The headset it not adjustable and does not fit comfortably. The concept is great, but the design and function of this particular headset are terrible. They really need to make some major changes to the unit before it meets the actual description presented. For now do not waste your time or money on this thing.

i loved it...until someone stole it.......2006-12-29
I'm on here to try and find a new mojo 1, because someone stole mine. It changed my world as far as sports - basketball, snowboarding, ect. It doesn't skip, and took a beating. I've never wrote a review before, but I feel strong about this product and wonder why apple hasn't hit the sd card/mp3 headphone market yet. The only downside is transferring files using the software- but it's easy if you have half a brain. Wireless is the only way for me for now on, but does anybody know where I can find new ones? Amazon is sold out, and no one is selling them on ebay...
Worst customer service EVER!.......2006-01-20
Lousy controls (can't see what you are doing and buttons stick - I ended up with headaches from pushing the buttons so hard while running). Stupid format - mjm. Cannot play real MP3, then you have to subscribe to their Moodlogic (more money). Be careful, it automatically converts the first 100 songs (you don't get to pick) in your library to mjm, then you HAVE to pay to Moodlogic to convert the rest.
I bought my MOJO1 in May, it would eat up batteries about 1 every two weeks (and I only run 3-4 days/week). It stopped working (SD card would actually "skip" like a CD) in August and, after numerous online chats and emails (TDK has the WORST Customer Service I have ever, REPEAT EVER, dealt with - they don't respond to email request in a timely manner and you cannot talk to them, you have to CHAT) I sent it back to them for "repairs." Well, that was September. I heard NOTHING from them for almost FOUR months! Finally, after more emails and chats (you cannot TALK to a rep to save you life), they asked me if I would accept a MOJO256F as a substitute.
I'm taking them up on it, but I don't have high hopes. They should have stuck to making media.
Good player with caveats.......2005-03-31
I've been using the Mojo 1 player for a year and a half now. If you're interested in the Mojo you're interested in listening to music without wires. The danger with any headphone style mp3 player is that however good the mp3 player, you're still at the mercy of the headphone quality. Most audiophiles would avoid the Mojo 1 -- these are not Grado SR60s. But they are decent headphones. There is no lcd screen but you figure out how to operate it with your fingers. The Mojo 1 runs on one AAA battery, but when the battery charge gets to around 1.25/1.5V on my 750mAh Energizer rechargeable batteries, the charge becomes too weak for the Mojo. To me that's plenty of time; still remember to carry spare AAA rechargeable batteries. The Mojo 1 has 128mb of internal memory but you won't want to keep your mp3s in the internal memory, that requires using either a musicmatch or moodlogic plugin to convert your mp3s to a proprietary DRM'd .mjm format. The Mojo 1 will not play regualr mp3s in the internal memory, only converted mjm files. The Mojo 1 will record FM radio from the tuner onto the internal memory only so you may want to save the internal memory for recording radio snippets (in .wav format), or else to save jpgs or other non-music files. Normal mp3s will play from external SD cards, but only SD cards up to 512mb. I tested a 1gb RiDATA 66x card in my Mojo 1 and it choked. If you have a TDK Mojo 1 please write to TDK customer support asking them to create new firmware so that the Mojo 1 will support 1gb SD cards. While TDK has been sitting on their hands, others have been innovating. Check out the izon: http://www.globalat.com/bluetoothheadset.html which supports bluetooth AND has an SD card slot. If you need wireless now, the TDK Mojo 1 is still probably your best bet (I'd like to hear from an Izon owner though), but if you can wait, another generation of wireless headphones may be just around the corner.
Great product, Software lacking.......2004-12-01
I have one - been using it for a year, and I'm ordering another for my husband. I really love it. It's easy to use; the wireless aspect is great. It does get a bit heavy, but I can just tuck a few strands of hair behind my ears if it becomes uncomfortable, and then continue to wear them. Seeing it's the only product out there of this kind product comparisons are limited, but obviously I like enough or I wouldn't buy another. It would be much more handy if it were to allow for dragging and dropping of files without having to use MoodLogic. Overall, I think it's a top shelf product.
usable, but overpriced.......2004-04-07
This type of player is absolute must for me, as I put a lot of miles on my bike on weekends. I want music to last for hours and don't want any wires. I used Now Evolution 32MB similar to this player, loved it with exception of limited storage. I tried to purchase Now Evolution NP256, but couldn't find it anywhere! Mojo 1 is the only other option available, which I was reluctant to go for, but had no choice. I was disappointed, when after several attempts to copy my MP3 file directly to internal memory, I realized that I have to use MoodLogic software (supplied) to transfer files, which encrypts them. What a hastle!
External memory is OK for direct coping.

Looks cool - hard to set up .......2005-01-26
The nice things about the TDK Mojo are the FM player, the small size, the good looks, SD card slot, and reasonable price. However, these are more than offset by the problems the Mojo has with Software setup and ease of use. In order to use the device you have to install 4 things: (1) An MP3/Music program like Real-One, Window Media, etc. (2) The included Software, (3) The included Plug-ins for Real-One/Windows Media Player/or iTunes, and (4) the USB driver. The installation manual tells you how to install the first 3, but not the 4th, which took me a while to figure out. It's not hard if you're used to installing new devices on your PC, but this should have been described in the manual. The Installation shell has a number of bugs I wouldn't expect from even a high school programmer. For example, sometimes clicking on step "3" will cause Step "2" to run instead, depending on what you moused over last. Sometimes mousing over a Step (it's a 4-step installation process) doesn't enable the step. Once everything is installed, it still requires 2 programs for day-to-day use - one program to take your CD's and convert to MP3 (or, to buy MP3's over the web), and the included TDK program for uploading your music to Mojo. This program, too, has many bugs. It hangs from time to time. A friend of mine bought the 256MB version, and had even worse problems with intallation. It took me 90 minutes to get everything installed and working properly and get my first CD loaded into MOJO and playing. Compare this with about 15 minutes for my daughters IPOD-mini, which she got for Christmas. Plus, the iTunes software does everything - it's a music store, uploader, compressor ... the works. Very easy to use, and bug-free. Quite a contrast, now that I've been through both.
As far as the Mojo itself, the availability of the SD card slot is great. You can buy a 1GB card on-line or at Sam's (haven't done this yet) for $75 and store tons of music. The unit is small and lightweight. But, the display is very small and hard to see, and the labels for the side buttons are on the BACK of the unit. Now who would do that? You're normally looking at the front of the unit, where the display is. If you want to see which button is volume, or mode, or skip forward/backward, you have to memorize it, or, turn the unit over to see the labels, then flip the unit back to see the display.
Good user design is not a class normally taken by engineering students nor computer scientists, and unfortunately, it shows in so many consumer products, including the TDK Mojo. After just buying my first Apple product (an Ipod mini for my daughter), and now the TDK Mojo, it's like night and day. One (Ipod Mini) is extremely easy to set up and a joy to use. The other is tedious to set up, with much fiddling and working around bugs, and is fussy to use. My guess is that once you've used the Mojo for a few days, and if you continue to use it, you'll memorize where the buttons are and it will feel less fussy.
Firmware Upgrade???.......2004-10-25
It worked great, until one day it didn't, and I can't read the error message, and I get no help from tech support. I tried to download the firmware upgrade, but it was nowhere to be found.
All in all, it is a good MP3 player for the prize (as long as it works), and it doubles as a portable storage device.
Also, I am not a big fan of the cable connection. It means cerrying the cable around if you want to use it as a flash drive, and make sure you don't lose it.
DOES NOT PLAY DRM FILES!!!.......2004-09-04
will not play the new DRM WMA files that you download from places like walmart.com or other online music stores........if your not sure, read the sites FAQ'S/HELP to see if it can only play on DRM equipped players....
Great music in a tiny package.......2004-08-13
The Mojo X mp3 player is great. It has plenty of power and battery life. It's 120mb memory is actualy 116mb (what the heck it's like that for everything else you lose memory to compression and system files). It will hold about 2-4 hours it you keep your songs not to a very high bit rate and many times mor if you use a low bitrate. It is very very light and pretty small. It is also great for file storage. It loads music very fast and simple from pc. You can use folders to seperate your playlists. The one problem with it mainly is it puts music on it in a copy protectedfromat so you can take music off it and play it on your pc. The only way around this is to put your music in non mp3,wma,or wav format or put it in a compressed zip folder, but it can play on it if you do any of these. The battery lasts a good amount. It includes on board menus, several paly modes, 4 preset and custom treble/bass balance. Overal very good buy I got mine about a year ago for $110; I still use it and it works great, except hte hold switch is a little loose but no big problem.
Covers all basic needs.......2004-06-09
If you're looking for a cheap alternative then Mojo is the right choice. I was looking for a MP3 player that was light and small and I didn't want to spend too much on it since I'm hoping to get an iPod soon. All other alternatives I had seen were too expensive to be worthwhile or didn't have a screen. How can you buy an MP3 player in which you don't know what's playing??!!?? this small player has an incredible amount of information, it's incredibly small, includes interesting functions and works with drag and drop like a breeze. Battery life is 12 hours as promised. The cons are basically the headphones (better use your own) and I found the maximun volume a bit low. All in all, it's definetly an excellent choice (you can use it as a pen drive if you get tired of the MP3 functions)
