Decent sound, Not durable.......2007-12-26
I bought these earbuds in July, it's now December and they have crapped out on me. I feel like my use of them was normal. I'd use them with my little Sandisk Sansa Express player, carrying it all around in my pocket.
What happened is the end by the plug has become flexed too much I guess. I have to twist and turn the wire in order to hear sound in the right ear now. They are basically worthless to me at this point. The plastic is just not very protective of the wires inside.
They were good until they broke. I liked the different sizes of ear canal attachments.
These earphones convinced me to write my first review.......2007-12-21
I have never written a review on amazon.com, or any website for that matter, and I've been online shopping for a very long time. These headphones are what I've been looking for for so long. I never thought I especially had a difficult time fitting earbuds in my ears, but somehow these so much better than any earphones I've ever had. The bass is perfect (even though it is always adjustable via EQ for iPod owners), and the noise reducing actually is TRUE, unlike most earphone claims, as I can have my iPod set to half volume and I still don't hear my obnoxiously loud fish tank at home or people talking while they walk by me on campus.
Also, I can have my iPod up all the way on volume and I don't hear one crack in the sound, even on my hardest and loudest songs.
And once again, I CANNOT get over how amazingly these fit, just with the original size of the rubber covers still on them. I've yet to try out the other sizes, but if they fit even better, I'm convinced that I will continue to buy these headphones for the rest of my musical life.
BUY THEM. I would have paid four times the amount I paid for these if I knew they were these good ahead of time.
Earphones just don't get better than this. I can't even imagine how they could.
Cheaper options are just as good........2007-12-21
I had to return the product because one bud was noticeably louder than the other. Ignoring this problem, the sound was just okay and there was no real noise reduction. The black rubber that goes in your ear is thin and hollow, so it does nothing to block outside noise. There are other options such as a colby on amazon for around $5 that would be just as good for a third of the price.
Don't think you're getting a bargain.......2007-12-21
I bought these to replace my worn-out Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia In-The-Ear Headphones (Black) and stupidly, thought I would save a few bucks by buying the Jlab earbuds this time around. I had become quite attached to the in-ear design, having discovered that it gives vastly superior sound quality and outside-sound blocking above the old style of standard earphone designs. I thought, well, these are in-ear headphones, they surely give similar quality sound, right? Wrong. After trying them out for a day, I got curious and plugged in my old Sonys (ragged but still functioning) and the difference was dramatic. The Sonys gave crisp highs and booming bass, and clear sound. The Jlabs, by comparison, was like listening to music underwater. So take it from me, spend the extra $10 or $20 and get yourself some Sonys or equivalent mid-price range headphones.
Work great!.......2007-12-21
My brother kept complaining about how bad the ipod earphones sucks. I bought these as a gift for him and he has nothing negative to say about them!!

Customer Reviews:
Excellent headset.......2007-12-18
After reading all the negative reviews about this product I decided to suck it up and give it a try. I've been using this headset for about 1-2 months now and I have no complaints so far. The microphone works great, the headset fits comfortably on head, and it has a sturdy frame. I mostly use it to play online games, but it's also good for listening to music, watching movies, etc. The only things that bothers me though is that sometimes when adjusting the volume it almost feels like I'm losing sound in one part of the headset, but it's not a big problem or it could be just me. Overall 5/5.
Good Product!.......2007-12-13
The headset has a good sound quality along with a good microphone quality, I tried it with many people on the net, it worked just fine! and by the way, its price is good too!
Keep Moving.......2007-12-12
So perhaps I got the bad seed in the bunch, but I really did not enjoy this product. The volume from the microphone is very very very low, even when it is set to high. Also, when it arrived, one of the ears of the headphones did not work. I would have shipped it back for exchange, but the cost of shipping was close to the price of the object, so why bother? Luckily, it wasn't that expensive. That being said, I guess you get what you pay for!
Ok at first, broke after extended use. Mic not great. Look elsewhere..........2007-12-09
I am online searching for a new gaming headset now as these broke, right on the side where they adjust into the plastic, so now they are trash. You get what you pay for. I usually love Logitech products, but this is not one I love. The mic was never great, people constantly having trouble hearing me even after lots of tweaking. I have a high-end sound card on my PC and this set just didn't do anything great with it.
Going to spend a bit more after I read review and get something nicer since I use it so much.
Look elsewhere.
Microphone sends noisy distracting sound when moved.......2007-11-27
There is some comfort, BUT when the microphone is adjusted, there is a static sound that interupts conversation. Logitec needs to do further engineering on the product.

Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones Rock!.......2007-12-23
Folks, these guys realy work.. But be aware, these are designed to cancel out Jet noise not your mother in law's voice... If you travel, wear these and you'll arrive less fatigued than you would otherwise. In fact I used them continuously for 14 hours on my way from SF to Taiwan and damn! They run on a single AAA battery.. Hows that for great performance ?.
Broken at the opening.......2007-12-22
These things are very shoddy. The hinge at the headphone is a weak plastic tube that apparently snapped during the packaging at Logitech.
Others have complained that the earpiece was breakable. Ours was broken when the box was opened. This is planned obsolescense in action! In this case it failed before we got it. Don't buy these!
Nicely Isolating.......2007-12-04
Just used these on my first flight, and they we're very good. I've never tried and Bose ones, but with noise-cancelling turned on and my iPod playing, practically all I could hear on the plane was music (and muffled announcements) - almost no engine noise, no talking, etc. I've also used the JVC HA-NC100, which are more portable, but the Logitech sound and isolation is superior.
Highly recomended.......2007-11-29
I've been using the headphones in several plane trips and they really make a difference. Cancels airplane noise very well and lets you enjoy your ipod inflight without hissing noises. A very nice product for its price.
Quiet but not clear.......2007-11-27
Quiet, but when the volume is turned up the sound has distortion. Sounds Great when the volume is around 75-80%. Very comfortable around the ear. The bose quiet comfort sounds slightly better. But for the price you cant go wrong! Recommended.

Customer Reviews:
No active noise reduction AT ALL! .......2007-12-22
I just brought these home from Staples. I cannot see how these can be claimed to have ACTIVE noise reduction. The only thing they do is slightly amplify the source sound. The classic test, to turn them on with some background noise but no signal, reveals ZERO noise reduction. There does not even appear to be a microphone anywhere in the system that could detect and correct for noise. Nothing you do with the battery unit (moving closer or further from noise sources, for example, indicates that ANYTHING is happening at all. The product is apparently falsely presented. The flexible plastic earbuds are reasonably good, and block sound almost as well as my KOSS Sparkplug earbuds, but there is NO evidence of any active noise cancelling at all. I plan to return them.
very disappointed.......2007-12-18
I am very disappointed in this product. When I first got the package, the left earbud was very low volume compared to the right. In mere hours, both stopped working (I did not put them through extraordinary strain). Even if it had continued to work the battery pack in the middle of the cord is very awkward. I strongly recommend against purchasing this product.
Average User.......2007-12-12
I didn't expect great noise canceling from these headphones, but I did expect them to be "honest" about the way they went about noise canceling. In this case when you switch the noise canceling feature on it simply sounds like the sound was run through an amplifier--the music you are listening to gets louder, but that's it.
Pass on it.......2007-12-07
Perhaps I got a bad unit, but after two months of light use one of the channels faded almost to nothing permanently (tested with new batteries, different unit, etc.). While it was working it seemed to be okay- not as good as my Kensington noise canceling headphones, but not bad. Most of the noise-canceling occurs because it acts as an earplug. The active noise-canceling effectiveness is marginal. I was also a bit annoyed that the wires were always getting tangled and the cord to the n.c. unit is just a couple inches too short to fit in my jacket pocket without pulling on the earbuds. I would have given it 3 stars had it kept working properly.
great earphones.......2007-12-02
This is my 20 th pair of earphones already, i use theme mostly to ride my bikes (harley & ktm enduro), so far these are by far the best i've ever owned, they are the only one's you can actually hear something riding over 60 mph with a small helmet in a very loud harley. the down side (and this is why i dindn't gave them 5 stars) is the big noise cancelling device, so i just place it in a pocket and problem solved. i'm very happy good for me that i bought two pairs, you know, just in case.

Customer Reviews:
Get one for your girlfriend and one for you!.......2007-12-14
Sony MDRNC22/PIN Noise Canceling Earbuds
After losing her brand new $300+ Bose noise canceling headphones on the plane, I got my girlfriend these Sony noise canelling earbuds. She was skeptical at first at how these little earbuds would be at noise canceling. Fortunately, she absolutely loved them and uses them when she flies. She was amazed that they are better at noise canceling than her missing overpriced Bose. She describes these headphones as "Amazing" and thanked me whole heartedly me for getting them for her.
Since these noise canceling earbuds got such a wonderful endorsement from my girlfriend, I have since bought myself two pairs of these exact earbuds - one for the gym and one to keep around so that when my girlfriend complains, I put them on. Yes, they are GREAT noise canceling earbuds.
Sony earbuds.......2007-12-01
The Sony noise cancelling earbuds are very effective and comfortable. I walk by a busy traffic area and with ordinary earbuds it was always difficult to hear the music. Even without the noise cancelling feature the earbuds work very well. I find the product well worth the price.
Best noise cancelling headset.......2007-10-02
This is the best noise cancelling headset I ever had. I am a frequent business traveler, and this is a must have thing in my pocket. Once I put it on, I cannot hear the kids crying next to me. Brought one for my boyfriend, and he loved it so much that he threw his Boise one away. He now also can sleep on the plane. I have highly recommended this headset to all my friends and families (and brought them as gifts), and now they cannot travel without it.
Very surprised and would recommend.......2007-09-22
I was dubious about how successful noise cancelling ear buds would be, got to say I'm converted.
I used them on a flight from US to UK. Excellent when listening to inflight entertainment, only complaint was from the wife who nudged me to say "you can't hear me can you"! Then even manged to sleep wearing them with music turned soft they kept out the background noise pretty well.
Point to note; Make sure you select the correct size bud to fit your ear (they come with three sizes) as it does make a huge difference.
Also make sure they are in firmly as this again makes a difference to how much noise is kept out.
I did read a previous review saying about the hiss noise when noise cancelling is on. All I can say is 'read the instructions' this is what they do initially. Once listening to something you don't notice it.
Would recommend. Wife now wants some.
excellent sound.......2007-09-14
The sound is excellent although too bulky to carry around with an ipod or mp3player on the go

Customer Reviews:
Without question the best!!!.......2007-12-05
The Ultrasone HFI 700 S-logic Surround Sound Professional headphones come with an audio CD that feature various instruments and sound effects. One becomes aware almost immediately that these headphones are unlike any other you have ever placed upon your ears.
As you listen to the various tracks you can picture in your mind exactly where each musician is seated. And for a brief moment you can believe that you are sitting right there in one of the chairs.
One of the sound effects on the included audio CD is that of a country meadow, with birds and bees and flies.
I had the headphones on, working at my computer, when I heard the flying insect in my ear and reached up to swat it away from ear and only then realized that it was the CD!
I used to work in a stereo store that use to sell B&O products. There was a ritual that, we employees, used to sell these very expensive speakers to a prospective buyer, that would never fail.
Whenever a customer was walking in through the door of our store and we had a interested customer contemplating this enormous purchase, we would put a CD by Heart on the B&O player.
One of their songs began with the sound of coins hitting the ground and bouncing several times.
Every single customer we played that part of the song for, would bend over to retrieve the coin only to discover that the floor was completely covered in carpeting.
I write those paragraphs to illustrate to you and compare the high-end B&O speakers with these wonderful Surround sound headphones!
I own a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort headphones also which, though they are very nice, and are very comfortable, they still sound like the sound is actually coming from one or both sides of the headphones. The Ultrasone HFI 700 S-Logic headphones make your senses feel that you are there in the moment of recording and you are not wearing anything on your head.
Buy them and prepare to be transported to a new sound dimension!
not good in all situations (e.g., electronica).......2007-11-19
I was really excited to get these headphones after reading the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I couldn't wait so I had them shipped overnight. I'm sorry to say that I've been disappointed with the headphones. Here are my impressions . . .
First, these headphones are very clinically accurate. You can hear details on these things that you won't hear on other headphones. In my case, I listen to a lot of electronica, where little clicks and beeps are always right below the surface -- to keep things complex and interesting. With these headphones, those sounds are brought up right alongside the main instruments. So, the actual music takes second stage to the now annoyingly obvious noises. I can't find a way to EQ these sounds out without cutting too much of the good sound.
Second, I really love bass. There is no such thing as too much bass. However, these headphones do something really annoying with the bass. With each thump, the pressure buildup in the cup is very high (I suppose because the cans are sealed). It is an effect similar to cupping your hands and bringing them together on your ears -- it can actually be painful. Again, I can cut the bass to relieve the pressure, but in doing so, I lose the low-end goodness, and ruin the song.
Third, overall -- these headphones seem to emphasize the trees over the forest. I can hear everything, but it just doesn't sound musical. I have $20 headphones that sound more musical than these. Each part in the song sounds distinct -- great for dissecting the music, but not for enjoying it. Maybe the headphones work better with other genres.
Fourth, these headphones have the most aggravating cord ever made. It is very long and balls up tightly on its own. Every time I use the headphones, I have to spend a minute untangling the stubborn cord. I know, you think excessive wire curl-osity is a minor problem . . . just wait and see.
Having said all that, these headphone are very good for DVDs (but are too quiet for a line-level signal). Ambient sound effects are given more immediacy. Note that these are not the DVD version (HFI-700 DVD), which I suppose have a few additional tweaks.
If you are going to order these headphones (or any other expensive pair), make sure you can return them. Many online vendors do not let you return headphones. Better yet -- try before you buy, if you can.
Ultrasone Headphones Rock!.......2007-11-07
These headphones are by far the best I have ever owned. No matter what you are listening to, from the computer to an iPod, these are the best sounding headphones for the price. Excellent separation of sound coupled with just the right amount of bass (and I love a deep thumping bass) makes these some of the best I've heard.
well worth it.......2007-10-28
These headphones are well worth the price. I'm not an audiophile, but for this price, I definitely want to get my money's worth. And with these headphones you do! Put in the demo cd when you get these and you will see in the first 5 seconds what they are capable of. Amazing! Sound great with cd's, dvd's, and other digital audio recordings. I use these for research and they really help pick up every detail of the recording. Also extremely comfortable to wear. I couldn't recommend them more highly. Enjoy!
Takes a little getting used to, but...........2007-09-30
Ordered these headphones after going through umpteen reviews on C-net, amazon and ultrasone websites. I must say I wasn't quite immediately blown out by the music that is produced on this pair, as I was expecting to be. But after certain burn in and getting used to, I'm beginning to love it. The clarity on the HFI700s is just amazing and must be heard to be believed. The bass is just sweetly balanced and not overwhelming. External noise is blocked out so well that you can almost hear your breathe when music isn't playing !
Minor nits: is that since the ear covers are made of leather, it can lead to heat build up and sweating after prolonged listening.
And the connector cable is not detachable from the ear cups and are fairly long...not very convenient to use with portable players.
With their amazing build quality ...I'm sure I'll stick to this one for years to come !

Customer Reviews:
Souped up HS520?.......2007-12-24
What persuaded me to get these headphones were that my old pair of headphones were Philips SBC HS520, a cheap and very solid pair of behind-the-neck head phones. These headphones when I bought them were 40USD, almost 2x of what they're being sold for right now. To save you some reading if you want a straight forward opinion:
-For less than 30 dollars, this is worth it. 40 dollars? No thanks.
First off, the noise canceling. I have not been able to detect much of a difference with the noise canceling. I've been reduced to thinking of it as "sound enhancing", which is really all it does. Adds a little kick to your music to make it play much more vibrantly. Compared to the HS520's, the sound quality is marginally better (Less tinny sounding, clarity is fantastic.)
The buzzing sound however kills me. HOWEVER- This only happens when my headphones are plugged into my laptop and the laptop is connected to an external power source. It's odd, but it's pretty darn annoying. The only way to stop the buzzing for me was to physically touch the headphones-the buzzing would magically disappear. (No, adding a chunk of tape doesn't cut it. Has to be your hand, oddly enough.) Imagine having to do that while watching a movie-it's torturous.
These headphones definitely are classy in their design, however. A sleek upgrade from the HS520's, the adjustable ear-bands allow for a very comfortable fit. My only complaint is that the cord isn't cloth-bound, and doesn't come with the little anchor, which means if it snags, there's a chance of the wire being ripped off. Also, there's the whole issue of the wires rotting through, wearing away, stretching etc etc.
These headphones I think are great if you don't have much money to spare, and are planning on getting them for this low price. Anything higher though, and I'd say you should probably look elsewhere. I'll be returning mine back to where I got them and keep looking.
Great sound quality, but the buzzing really drove me off.
Don't bother.......2007-08-16
I picked these up thinking the noise reduction feature would be nice for use on a plane. As soon as I took them out of the box and turned them on it was clear I had wasted my money. These headphones sound ok for music playback, but the noise reduction is barely perceptible. I'm returning them tomorrow.
If you're looking for good music playback, you can find better phones for less. If you're looking for noise reduction, look elsewhere.
Took them straight back.......2007-07-21
Bought them today, tried them once and took them straight back. Extremely uncomfortable, can't perceive any noise blocking and they distort on high volume bass. Complete waste of money - back to Sony!!
Satisfying Headphones.......2007-07-17
Since I'm not an audiophile like most people who buy noise cancelling headphones, I consider this product a great purchase. It is not expensive, has noise cancelling, and has superb sound quality. The sound quality on these are better than those found in the Sony Behind the Neck Sport Headphones. The "hiss" others have complained about I can not find. The noise cancelling is not noise isolating. You will hear loud noises. The low buzzy and medium ranges will not be heard.
Buy these if you want noise cancelling in behind the neck headphones but not BOSE headphones.
No idea since I never got the item.......2007-07-08
Still waiting for refund for the item I bought on the 1st of June for my sons graduation....

Random Noise.......2007-09-02
I have had these headphones for a few years now. I also do a lot of traveling for my company (ie flying). About a half year ago the headphones started emiting small pops and hisses (all of which are pretty much covered over by music). I contacted Panasonic help center and they referred me to an "authorized dealer". A search from their website shows the nearest "authorized dealer" is a measly 1200+ miles from my location. I followed through email about location and they never replied. I will not purchase another Panasonic product again.
Good job and worth the money.......2007-08-22
The wife and I bought two pair of these for our trip to Germany last year. I have since used them several on flights to FL where I go monthly. They are very comfortable and the battery life is good. The case is handy for carrying them also. Plenty of room for an IPod on the middle.
The only flaw is that the sound is slightly muddy when compared to my Sennheiser HD-497s. The lows a little boomy.
Highly recommended though.
Shoddy workmanship + 90 day warranty = a waste of money.......2007-08-21
I received these as a christmas gift, and a few months later the left headphone detached from the headband. I called Panasonic, and was informed that the warranty is only 90 days, and that I would need to pay for its repair or replacement by mailing it to Texas. They didn't know how much it would cost to fix, and told me to call the same 800 number I had just called. Terrible. Spend the extra money to get the Bose. I wish I did.
Good Noise Canceling Headphones .......2007-08-09
These headphones work great if there is no other source of radio frequency in the vicinity of cable that connects the head phones with the device (e.g. no problem in an airplane but in a car with cell phones the static can be annoying).
Very good headphones.......2007-07-29
Those are great. Noise canceling feature works great, they're comfortable, and I love it. For those who don't want to spend $350 on Bose and still want to get a high quality product I would say go for it!

Customer Reviews:
Very good headphone, get these!!!.......2007-12-13
The sound from this headphone is great. I sit next to a loud computer, noise cancellation of this headphone works better than Bose QC3. Ear pad feels very soft and headphone feels like, overall the feel is very comparable to Bose. Fairly comfortable to wear for extended period of time. Got this with a huge discount from Dell.
The only downside, this headphone uses 2 AAA batteries. I use energizer 850mAH NiMH batteries, and they last about 4 hours in this headphone with noise cancellation, x-fi crystalizer and x-fi 3D all turned on. Get lots of rechargeable batteries! With the power turned off, the sound is very weak.
There is a volume wheel on the headphone itself which is nice although I rarely use it.
Best Headphones on the market.......2007-12-12
Best Headphones I've ever purchased - the noise canceling feature is way better than Bose headphones, and the X-Fi Cystalizer and X-Fi CMSS-3D buttons really do work by improving an mp3's sound quality with an additional surround sound effect. Also the mini-jack connection works with the deeply recessed iPhone input jack. Oh, and did I mention the headphones are very comfortable to wear...
Best Headphones available in the market.......2007-12-12
This is the best Headphones available in the market. I do not personally own this but I tried it during Sitex 2007 in Singapore when I visited Creative's booth. I own X-fi extremegamer and I realized the clarity and the distinctive and natural ups and downs X-fi deliver when it comes to music and movies. It does not use reverbs or unnaturally drum up the bass unlike SRS wow from Media player and other enhancements that are available. It works for most songs. It makes your music "alive". It's great to be integrated into already the highest end noise-cancelling headphones. It has no comparable products as of now. Perhaps X-fi could be integrated into mp3/mp4 players one day or X-fi could be improved to be more intelligent and allow choice of reverbs that work well for a minority of songs. It's a pity the free shipping US$249.99 deal from Amazon is dead!
Will not travel without them.......2007-12-09
I just recieved these last week. Took them on a flight a few days later and I AM HOOKED! It is un-believeable how well these work at cancelling the outside noise. I let two other people on the planes try them and they were just as blown away as I was! Get them, you will not be disappointed.
I can't believe my ears!.......2007-09-20
These are hands down the finest headphones I have ever heard. Ever.
I'm an early adopter. I like new gadgets. I know about X-Fi. So I jumped at the chance to buy these headphones. They aren't cheap - but they're not the most expensive cans on the market either.
I thought my iPod sounded fine with the earbuds that came in the box. Not great but not bad. I was wrong. EVERYTHING sounds bad when compared to these bad boys from the geniuses behind X-Fi. I don't really understand HOW X-Fi works. But I understand what it does: it makes my MP3s and iTunes music sound better. Simple as that.
I do have one minor complaint. Like all noise-cancelling headphones, the sound bleeds from the Aurvana X-Fis. So you might bug your neighbor a little bit on a long flight. Hahaha! I don't think the bleed is worse than in any other pair of headphones. Just thought I'd mention it anyway.
