Decent sound, Not durable.......2007-12-26
I bought these earbuds in July, it's now December and they have crapped out on me. I feel like my use of them was normal. I'd use them with my little Sandisk Sansa Express player, carrying it all around in my pocket.
What happened is the end by the plug has become flexed too much I guess. I have to twist and turn the wire in order to hear sound in the right ear now. They are basically worthless to me at this point. The plastic is just not very protective of the wires inside.
They were good until they broke. I liked the different sizes of ear canal attachments.
These earphones convinced me to write my first review.......2007-12-21
I have never written a review on amazon.com, or any website for that matter, and I've been online shopping for a very long time. These headphones are what I've been looking for for so long. I never thought I especially had a difficult time fitting earbuds in my ears, but somehow these so much better than any earphones I've ever had. The bass is perfect (even though it is always adjustable via EQ for iPod owners), and the noise reducing actually is TRUE, unlike most earphone claims, as I can have my iPod set to half volume and I still don't hear my obnoxiously loud fish tank at home or people talking while they walk by me on campus.
Also, I can have my iPod up all the way on volume and I don't hear one crack in the sound, even on my hardest and loudest songs.
And once again, I CANNOT get over how amazingly these fit, just with the original size of the rubber covers still on them. I've yet to try out the other sizes, but if they fit even better, I'm convinced that I will continue to buy these headphones for the rest of my musical life.
BUY THEM. I would have paid four times the amount I paid for these if I knew they were these good ahead of time.
Earphones just don't get better than this. I can't even imagine how they could.
Cheaper options are just as good........2007-12-21
I had to return the product because one bud was noticeably louder than the other. Ignoring this problem, the sound was just okay and there was no real noise reduction. The black rubber that goes in your ear is thin and hollow, so it does nothing to block outside noise. There are other options such as a colby on amazon for around $5 that would be just as good for a third of the price.
Don't think you're getting a bargain.......2007-12-21
I bought these to replace my worn-out Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia In-The-Ear Headphones (Black) and stupidly, thought I would save a few bucks by buying the Jlab earbuds this time around. I had become quite attached to the in-ear design, having discovered that it gives vastly superior sound quality and outside-sound blocking above the old style of standard earphone designs. I thought, well, these are in-ear headphones, they surely give similar quality sound, right? Wrong. After trying them out for a day, I got curious and plugged in my old Sonys (ragged but still functioning) and the difference was dramatic. The Sonys gave crisp highs and booming bass, and clear sound. The Jlabs, by comparison, was like listening to music underwater. So take it from me, spend the extra $10 or $20 and get yourself some Sonys or equivalent mid-price range headphones.
Work great!.......2007-12-21
My brother kept complaining about how bad the ipod earphones sucks. I bought these as a gift for him and he has nothing negative to say about them!!

Souped up HS520?.......2007-12-24
What persuaded me to get these headphones were that my old pair of headphones were Philips SBC HS520, a cheap and very solid pair of behind-the-neck head phones. These headphones when I bought them were 40USD, almost 2x of what they're being sold for right now. To save you some reading if you want a straight forward opinion:
-For less than 30 dollars, this is worth it. 40 dollars? No thanks.
First off, the noise canceling. I have not been able to detect much of a difference with the noise canceling. I've been reduced to thinking of it as "sound enhancing", which is really all it does. Adds a little kick to your music to make it play much more vibrantly. Compared to the HS520's, the sound quality is marginally better (Less tinny sounding, clarity is fantastic.)
The buzzing sound however kills me. HOWEVER- This only happens when my headphones are plugged into my laptop and the laptop is connected to an external power source. It's odd, but it's pretty darn annoying. The only way to stop the buzzing for me was to physically touch the headphones-the buzzing would magically disappear. (No, adding a chunk of tape doesn't cut it. Has to be your hand, oddly enough.) Imagine having to do that while watching a movie-it's torturous.
These headphones definitely are classy in their design, however. A sleek upgrade from the HS520's, the adjustable ear-bands allow for a very comfortable fit. My only complaint is that the cord isn't cloth-bound, and doesn't come with the little anchor, which means if it snags, there's a chance of the wire being ripped off. Also, there's the whole issue of the wires rotting through, wearing away, stretching etc etc.
These headphones I think are great if you don't have much money to spare, and are planning on getting them for this low price. Anything higher though, and I'd say you should probably look elsewhere. I'll be returning mine back to where I got them and keep looking.
Great sound quality, but the buzzing really drove me off.
Don't bother.......2007-08-16
I picked these up thinking the noise reduction feature would be nice for use on a plane. As soon as I took them out of the box and turned them on it was clear I had wasted my money. These headphones sound ok for music playback, but the noise reduction is barely perceptible. I'm returning them tomorrow.
If you're looking for good music playback, you can find better phones for less. If you're looking for noise reduction, look elsewhere.
Took them straight back.......2007-07-21
Bought them today, tried them once and took them straight back. Extremely uncomfortable, can't perceive any noise blocking and they distort on high volume bass. Complete waste of money - back to Sony!!
Satisfying Headphones.......2007-07-17
Since I'm not an audiophile like most people who buy noise cancelling headphones, I consider this product a great purchase. It is not expensive, has noise cancelling, and has superb sound quality. The sound quality on these are better than those found in the Sony Behind the Neck Sport Headphones. The "hiss" others have complained about I can not find. The noise cancelling is not noise isolating. You will hear loud noises. The low buzzy and medium ranges will not be heard.
Buy these if you want noise cancelling in behind the neck headphones but not BOSE headphones.
No idea since I never got the item.......2007-07-08
Still waiting for refund for the item I bought on the 1st of June for my sons graduation....
Product Description
Whether used to block out sound while on an aircraft or to create a tranquil environment so you can enjoy your favorite CD track, these new headphones are up to the challenge. The new RP-HC300 noise canceling headphones are designed to reduce background noise by creating out-of-phase sounds that equal the background noise to effectively cancel it. Additionally, the headphones reduce low frequencies such as the drone of a plane's engine or a loud air conditioning unit. The noise-canceling feature can also be switched off to allow the user to converse or to reduce background noise by virtue of the headphone's comfortable insulated housing. Includes carrying pouch and plug adapter for airplane

Cash Canceling Headphones.......2007-12-13
Here is why this product fails to deliver on the $150 price I paid for it. First, it does NOT cancel noise but only an eighth of low frequency ambient sound which essentially is... nothing. The "noise canceling" label misleads. At best, the label should read "Low frequency reducing". Second, the quality of sound it delivers misses the lows and highs one expects for such a high priced set of headphones. Third, while it is bearable, it is uncomfortable. Fourth, it is overpriced, whether at $90 or $150. I would not have paid more than $20 had I known what I was REALLY getting.
I would try another brand if I were you. As it is, I will now have to spend MORE money getting some honest to goodness Noise Canceling headphones that actually deliver on the promise. And that is why I say buying Panasonic RP-HC300 headphones are "cash canceling" because after you pay the $90 or $150 asking price, you have to go out again and spend another $150-200 for some REAL noise canceling headphones that actually do the job.
Be forewarned.
Random Noise.......2007-09-02
I have had these headphones for a few years now. I also do a lot of traveling for my company (ie flying). About a half year ago the headphones started emiting small pops and hisses (all of which are pretty much covered over by music). I contacted Panasonic help center and they referred me to an "authorized dealer". A search from their website shows the nearest "authorized dealer" is a measly 1200+ miles from my location. I followed through email about location and they never replied. I will not purchase another Panasonic product again.
Good job and worth the money.......2007-08-22
The wife and I bought two pair of these for our trip to Germany last year. I have since used them several on flights to FL where I go monthly. They are very comfortable and the battery life is good. The case is handy for carrying them also. Plenty of room for an IPod on the middle.
The only flaw is that the sound is slightly muddy when compared to my Sennheiser HD-497s. The lows a little boomy.
Highly recommended though.
Shoddy workmanship + 90 day warranty = a waste of money.......2007-08-21
I received these as a christmas gift, and a few months later the left headphone detached from the headband. I called Panasonic, and was informed that the warranty is only 90 days, and that I would need to pay for its repair or replacement by mailing it to Texas. They didn't know how much it would cost to fix, and told me to call the same 800 number I had just called. Terrible. Spend the extra money to get the Bose. I wish I did.
Good Noise Canceling Headphones .......2007-08-09
These headphones work great if there is no other source of radio frequency in the vicinity of cable that connects the head phones with the device (e.g. no problem in an airplane but in a car with cell phones the static can be annoying).

Customer Reviews:
Very good headphone, get these!!!.......2007-12-13
The sound from this headphone is great. I sit next to a loud computer, noise cancellation of this headphone works better than Bose QC3. Ear pad feels very soft and headphone feels like, overall the feel is very comparable to Bose. Fairly comfortable to wear for extended period of time. Got this with a huge discount from Dell.
The only downside, this headphone uses 2 AAA batteries. I use energizer 850mAH NiMH batteries, and they last about 4 hours in this headphone with noise cancellation, x-fi crystalizer and x-fi 3D all turned on. Get lots of rechargeable batteries! With the power turned off, the sound is very weak.
There is a volume wheel on the headphone itself which is nice although I rarely use it.
Best Headphones on the market.......2007-12-12
Best Headphones I've ever purchased - the noise canceling feature is way better than Bose headphones, and the X-Fi Cystalizer and X-Fi CMSS-3D buttons really do work by improving an mp3's sound quality with an additional surround sound effect. Also the mini-jack connection works with the deeply recessed iPhone input jack. Oh, and did I mention the headphones are very comfortable to wear...
Best Headphones available in the market.......2007-12-12
This is the best Headphones available in the market. I do not personally own this but I tried it during Sitex 2007 in Singapore when I visited Creative's booth. I own X-fi extremegamer and I realized the clarity and the distinctive and natural ups and downs X-fi deliver when it comes to music and movies. It does not use reverbs or unnaturally drum up the bass unlike SRS wow from Media player and other enhancements that are available. It works for most songs. It makes your music "alive". It's great to be integrated into already the highest end noise-cancelling headphones. It has no comparable products as of now. Perhaps X-fi could be integrated into mp3/mp4 players one day or X-fi could be improved to be more intelligent and allow choice of reverbs that work well for a minority of songs. It's a pity the free shipping US$249.99 deal from Amazon is dead!
Will not travel without them.......2007-12-09
I just recieved these last week. Took them on a flight a few days later and I AM HOOKED! It is un-believeable how well these work at cancelling the outside noise. I let two other people on the planes try them and they were just as blown away as I was! Get them, you will not be disappointed.
I can't believe my ears!.......2007-09-20
These are hands down the finest headphones I have ever heard. Ever.
I'm an early adopter. I like new gadgets. I know about X-Fi. So I jumped at the chance to buy these headphones. They aren't cheap - but they're not the most expensive cans on the market either.
I thought my iPod sounded fine with the earbuds that came in the box. Not great but not bad. I was wrong. EVERYTHING sounds bad when compared to these bad boys from the geniuses behind X-Fi. I don't really understand HOW X-Fi works. But I understand what it does: it makes my MP3s and iTunes music sound better. Simple as that.
I do have one minor complaint. Like all noise-cancelling headphones, the sound bleeds from the Aurvana X-Fis. So you might bug your neighbor a little bit on a long flight. Hahaha! I don't think the bleed is worse than in any other pair of headphones. Just thought I'd mention it anyway.

Customer Reviews:
Just what I was hoping for.......2007-08-24
I'm impressed with this little thing. The case is well-made and has a very solid feel. The Nano fits perfectly into the skin and into the MiniBlaster. I didn't have difficulties with the fit like others mentioned. Getting the Nano out takes some pushing, but that's the way it should be. You don't want it falling out on it's own and hitting the pavement. All the Nano controls are accessible. The front, circular control (volume/scroll) works fine through a silicon skin and is very protected.
The reason we buy this thing is for sound and size. Size and weight are impressively minimal. You won't beat that anywhere. As for sound, it's not a home entertainment center or a Bose IPod system - it's a tiny little device that offers maximum portability. If you can bring your Bose system along with you, then do it. If you need something small and more portable, then read on.
The sound has a distinct clarity. Mids to highs are crisp and well separated. What you loose is bass. It's attenuated, but not dull or muddy. I wasn't expecting strong bass with a frequency response of 450Hz to 20KHz. It's not built for it and shouldn't be expected.
It's made, as others have said, for you and a couple of friends in an environment without too much ambient noise. If you are looking for a system that you can play at a beech party with a big group of friends, keep looking, because this isn't it. Too many voices chatting away will drown this little thing out.
In a reasonably quiet room or out on the trail, you get enough volume to really enjoy the music. It's loud enough to hear the detail in the sound. It even gets too loud for conversations and has to be turned down. Don't get me wrong, the neighbors won't be calling or stomping on the floor. It has what it needs to fill the niche that it's designed for.
I personally like the sound with the EQ set to "Small Speakers" - seems like a good balance for Classic Rock which I tend to listen to the most.
If you want a small, light and very portable speaker system to free you from headphones and make portable music a social experience between friends again, then you are onto something.
Enjoy!
Great for use while traveling.......2007-08-11
I wanted to be able to listen to podcasts and my own music while commuting and so first purchased (for $80) an FM converter that plugged into the lighter and my iPod and then matched an unused frequency to play what was on the iPod. The sound wasn't great and it changed depending on where I was driving. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right static frequency and match it with the device. In the short time that I tried it out I had to switch frequencies twice.
So, I looked for a speaker. I decided that it wouldn't be a disaster to buy something at this price to try even if it didn't work great. It was what I was looking for! I can use it in the car and also other places where I want to play what is on my ipod so that others can hear. It is not great sound quality, but it is much better than what I was getting with the FM converter and much easier. I can either use batteries or the AC adaptor (I already have a device that converts the cigarette lighter into AC power).
It is a great solution for what I was looking for.
Good Product.......2007-07-26
I recommend this product over similar products that are outrageously expensive. Powerful sound for it's size and easy to use. Great value.
Wow, under 15 bucks including shipping!.......2007-07-04
Don't expect too much bass out of -any- tiny speakers but as a way to turn your nano into a sort of 21st century "transistor radio" equivalent with stereo audio and a better sound quality, this little thing is superb. Talk radio podcasts are delivered very clearly and music can be enjoyed to an extent especially if you choose an appropriate EQ setting on your nano. Volume capability is decent, just don't expect to entertain an audience bigger than about two or three. Battery life is good for the 4x AAA batteries.
JLab Audio.......2007-06-08
The sound is good from the Miniblaster, but getting my Ipod in and out of it is a real chore!! It is very difficult to do. It not only is very hard to place in the miniblaster, but getting it out is even worse. I like the size of it as it doesn't take up a lot of room when I place it on the counter. Just difficult to use. It is also hard to adjust the volume with the "skin" on it.

Great sound quality for such a tiny package.......2007-11-05
I bought the miniblaster portable speaker in December 2006. I was amazed at the quality of the sound for such tiny speakers. Now, almost one year later, the speakers are still going strong. If you are looking for good quality pocket size speakers, these are a good choice.
A Great iPod Speaker........2007-08-08
It is tiny, compact (no wiggley parts to break off) it runs on batteries as well as AC and I am completely delighted with it.JLab Audio MBBG1 Miniblaster Portable Speaker for iPod Nano (Gen 1) - Black
STOP THINKING AND BUY IT.......2007-07-28
Best bang for the buck...i read all the reviews. just buy it. you can't beat $15 shipped. it gets the job done.
Excellent Company.......2007-06-11
My 11 year old daughter saved her $$ and did some on line research and ended up buying these. She loved them for the size which allowed her to take them into bed, on the bus etc. The audio in my opinion was "OK", but she was very happy.
We had bought them along with their noise reducing ear buds which I use while traveling in planes. I can wear them x- country very comfortably
Unfortunately we had technical problems and contacted JBL. I happened to email them on a Sunday afternoon and in about 15 minutes a real person (Josh) responded. A real person.... on a Sunday!!
He resolved the issue- which ultimately required a warranty replacement.
I cannot say enough good things about this company and Josh. I woudl buy their products again without hesitation
What a disappointment........2007-05-26
On my first foray into looking for the perfect mini speaker for my Ipod, I bought the Aiptek Mist for Nano (not realizing it only works with Gen 2 Nano)---boy, was it a cute little thing. Disappointed they don't make that product for Gen 1 Nanos, I searched Amazon for the perfect replacement mini speaker that would work with my Nano Gen 1. The JLab Miniblaster had 4 stars. Folks, speak up, because I cannot be the only one who was shocked by the low quality of this product!!
*When I first plugged it in, you couldn't hear anything because of interference from my TV remote!
*When I finally heard sound it was fuzzy at best and never got much better
*The volume level is only a smidgen better than what I can hear through my earbuds when they are out of my ears!
I read and re-read the direction and am convinced I did everything properly. I even tried it with battery power only, in the house, out of the house. No luck. This is a lousy product and I am giving it one star. This is being shipped back today.

Customer Reviews:
By far the best Bluetooth headset I have used........2007-12-11
I have owned several bluetooth headsets. My ears are sensative and comfort is important. This headset fits perfect and the sound and mic are super. I have never had a complaint using this headset. It paired with my iPhone with no problems. It has a long battery life and is by far the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. I have used it for 6 months and no complaints.
Looks good, Feels Flimsy.......2007-11-09
I got this in July 2007 and when I first got it to sync it up with my W810i, I was really pleased. The headset sits on the ear OK and it doesn't protrude out of your ear like a cocoon. The speaker works pretty well inside your car and indoors but if you are outside and it's a windy day, you had better put your hand across your ear because the person you're talking to, won't hear hardly a thing. Battery life on this headset is above average as the average talk time is between 4-5 hours on a full charge.
Fast forward to November 2007 and one day I was putting the earpiece over my ear and the rubber connective portion of the earpiece ripped off from the silver battery part. It is currently en route back to Sony after calling them. They will be sending me a new one once they receive my broken one.
Bottom line: Great looking long lasting battery Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset seeks gentle handling owner for sensitive fragile technology. If you get one, make sure you get an empty Altoids box to put it in when you are not wearing it.
doesn't fit my phone.......2007-09-19
I used it with my Sony Ericsson W600i. It was comfort to wear, but easy to fall off than others with hook. Sound quality was relatively low.
Not bad!!.......2007-05-13
Works great, short distance less than 3 meters. Not as comfortable as promised, but tolerable.
The best feature is the design.
Good concept..........2007-05-12
This was an excellent earpiece, except it has no noise reduction. Everything else about it is great...the design for odd ears like mine keep it on the ear well. Noise reduction is vital, though, and I am surprised this late of a model didn't have it.

if they can't get comfort right.......2007-07-14
buyer beware, i know. and i read the reviews before i bought these and thought, can't be that bad right? well i'm afraid it is.
i just can't use them. they give me a headache because they pinch, just as one reviewer said, right in front of the ears, just below your temples. it's like getting a sinus headache right around where you eardrums are. and i have an average head.
philips seems to have gotten two things wrong. first the U of the band is too long, you are stuck with either forcing it into your neck or letting it ride up your ears. second, they curved the earpieces in too much, so instead of a nice U-shape, you have a C-shape with the brunt of the clasping force pinching into your temporal bone. whoever designed it must have had a very long thin head and was lying down!
not to mention, these really are ugly, not sleek and flat as you might expect from the picture they give me. if they sat right, they might look fine, but sitting rather uncomfortably on top of my ears, they really look terrible, like an explosion of white plastic under my hair.
if you already bought it and it doesn't fit you, the only consolation is that the plastic is pliable, so if you sit on it for a couple hours, that might just flatten it out a bit to be useable.. i'm very disappointed..
Great... if you have a huge head.......2007-06-19
I got these expecting them to be of good quality because they are made by Phillips, but boy was I wrong. I was so happy to receive them; I immediately ripped open the package and put them on my head. As soon as I had put them on, I had to take them off. They were awful! They did not fell right at all. They twist in on your head and are horribly uncomfortable. I have an average size head and didn't ever think this would be a problem. My husband said they were fine, but my kids agreed with me. I got these to replace the ear buds because those won't stay in my ear, but after I got them I went back to my ear buds and returned them as soon as possible. These may be good for men, but I would not recommend them for women or children.
Best
<$10 headphones I've ever heard.......2007-05-20
I bought these headphones to replace my broken KSC-75's, and my ears weren't prepared. The second I put these on, I was blown away. In my opinion, these are better than the KSC-75's, the highly praised $15 headphones made by Koss. The SHS391's have a much fuller bass, probably because of the headband. The mids and highs are very comparable to the KSC-75's, but probably not as open.
These are very comfortable headphones. I can barely feel them when they're on my head, other than when the band rubs against my neck. Very lightweight, but very secure. I haven't worn them running or anything, but I doubt anyone would have trouble with them falling off, unless the person has a small head.
For $9, these can't be beat. I'd take them over my brother's $50 Audio-Technica headphones.
Excellent.......2007-05-16
I love these headphones. I two pair now. One I use for my computer, one I use for mu iPod. They sound excellent. The weight is very light. These headphones don't hurt my ears after wearing them for hours. Others start to pinch my ears and make my ears red after 30 minutes or so. Best headphones I've bought in a long time. I go through about 3 pair of headphones a year. I currently have 14 pair that do not work, mostly all Sonys. If I was to buy again, I would buy these without a doubt. If I could not find these, I would probably by KOSS.
Good for the price.......2007-02-27
A pretty good headphone for the price. It does "float" around the ears and the frame of the headphone does rub against the back of my neck - causing a bit of discomfort from time to time while I am sitting down. Overall, I am pleased with the the value - if I wanted to $100 headphone quality, I would not buy this one but this works just fine for gym, office, and general usage (and I will not go heart-broken if I lost/broke this headphone).

earbud for cingular wireless phone.......2007-05-14
It worked one time and then began to give an incredible noise the next several times I tried to use it. Don't know what the problem was but suspect it was incompatible once they{Cingular} had the signal.
