Great sound, painful fit.......2007-12-20
I picked these up locally, having wanted a set of wireless headphones for my office.
- Sounds great. I start to get choppiness about 50 feet away from the base, but that's plenty for me, I really just want them for the 6 feet in my cube!.
- Battery life is OK, not great. Lasts maybe 4 hours of continuous play, which isn't long enough for me.
- Fit is horrible. My ears ache after wearing them for 15 minutes. They don't sit on my ears right, constantly having to fiddle with them and adjust them.
I would not buy these headphones again and would not recommend you do so.
These definetly fit the bill!.......2007-12-20
I was a bit worried after first purchasing these but I'm completely satisfied now that I have them up and running. I listen to the radio through my computer at work and needed something that was reliable but didn't tether me to my computer by the cord. These headphones work perfectly, they allow me to type at my computer and freely walk around the room and never get disconnected. They are also very comfortable and fit well over the ears with surgical rubber ear hooks. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge charge the item.
Very uncomfortable.......2007-12-12
Sound quality is OK but the loops around your ears are very uncomfortable. Can't wear for over an hour.
Just the sound.......2007-12-08
I should have paid more attention to the review comments telling me these headphones were uncomfortable. I already own a behind-the-neck wired headset from Logitech and they are quite comfortable. This wireless set; however, is poorly designed for human beings and they don't fit my cat either.
The 'phones and base unit have a hidden link code, so I could not pair the 'phones with my iPAQ; this is very irritating.
The batteries for both the base & 'phones are built-in rechargeable so the life of the batteries is the life of the product. The charge on the 'phones lasts maybe 3 hours, not so good at all.
I own several Logitech products and am quite satisfied with both the design and value of these items. The FreePulse unit is an exception to this. They pretty much suck.
The sound is great though.
Awesome.......2007-12-06
Seriously, being able to rock out wirelessly is such a godsend! I feel that they are very comfy on my ears and very easy simple and straightforward to use. No software just plug and play...also great sound and so lightweight! I dont share the dissapointment that others had with these. I think they are worth every penny.

Amazon.com Product Description
Anyone who has installed a speaker system knows the worst part is figuring out how to hide the unsightly speaker cables, especially if your speakers are located across the room from the receiver. Enter this pair of Acoustic Research stereo speakers, which resolves the dilemma by eliminating speaker wires altogether. The system's powerful transmitter broadcasts its 900 MHz signal through walls, floors, ceilings, and other obstacles, giving listeners a wide array of installation options. Looking for a pair of high-quality speakers for the upstairs bedroom? No problem. Want to enjoy your favorite tunes in the basement without running speaker wire through the floor? Easy. Thanks to the system's 300-foot range, almost any home speaker scenario is possible, including positioning the speakers outdoors so you can provide the soundtrack for your neighborhood block party. And fortunately for listeners, the wireless setup doesn't compromise the quality of the audio, as the rich signal is drift- and static-free.
Each 10-watt speaker employs a 4-inch woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter, with a left/mono/right switch for added versatility. The speakers also include integrated power, volume, and tuning controls along the front faces. In lieu of an AV receiver, listeners can connect the speakers directly to most audio sources, including TVs, DVD players, VCRs, computers, and portable audio devices such as MP3 players. Alternately, they can connect the speakers to the rear channels of 5.1 surround sound receivers and take full advantage of the wireless design. Each of the speakers comes with its own AC adapter, though listeners can also install eight C-cell batteries per speaker for complete cordless use. The speakers even recharge ni-cad and NiMH batteries when plugged into an AC adapter. Other accessories include a 1/4-inch headphone adapter and a "Y" cable that connects the transmitter to the audio source.
What's in the Box
Two speakers, transmitter, AC power adapter for transmitter, two AC power adapters for speakers, Y adapter cable, 1/4-inch headphone adapter, user's manual.

Has it's +s and -s.......2007-12-25
I just received my Amazon purchase. Lucky for me that I already own 2 sets of these to know that this newer set is not working well. The manufacturer has also changed a very integral part of the transmitter (a volume level on its back) it seems.
First, they work fine for talk radio on mono. They are great to run a talk radio show on my MP3 player while I am out shopping. Chatter in a house with all these gangs from south of our border is helpful... ;-)
These transmitters also work great coupled with their 900mhz wireless headphones. They give my headphones a bit of a boost, so I wanted a 3rd set, not for the speakers, but for the transmitter. As I said, I have two, so a third back up would be nice. I run two (one in the front room and another in a back room (one being unhooked obviously).
Now for the fun stuff:
1) These speakers (not transmitters) have suddenly died on me for no reason. If I didn't have two sets, yes, their customer service could feed it to me as they did for another customer here. Unfortunately for them, they would have been hard-pressed to answer why one speaker is dead and the other three are dandy. What I am saying that after using these for a few years, I have had to return several sets to Best Buy whence they came (I purchased extended warranties, which I would advise you to do if you buy these.)
2) On many of my sets, either the lights did not work properly out of the box or they died in time. On this set, they are blue on the transmitter out of the box, when the power is hooked up. NONE of my prior sets have ever done this. They are supposed to be blue on the front of the transmitter after the sound begins to play to the speaker. That way you know blinks rates, etc. If the transmitter is not blinking while playing sound, turn down your volume. This new set is always a solid blue, and there is no way to adjust its back or to know if something is wrong. Well, there is something wrong---it's light never goes off! Even when I am sleeping-waaaa.
3) I am not sure if this is caused by the blue light on the transmitter, but when I hit PLAY on my sound source, my o my do my headphones freak. So do my old AW-871 speakers (I have bothered undoing the new speakers, since these defects are going back.) I am going to lose my hearing from this for sure. It is a sound that it makes at first, that my other two sets does not, nor should these. I am going to guess that without the volume at the back of the transmitter, they turned it up wide, but even with my MP3 player and headphones almost all the way down, the sound is still going down.
Bottom line is that these can be great and irreplaceable for what I use them for, BUT they are not made well, never have been, and I don't think that their new version has fixed a thing. Rather than fixing problems, they just made them even cheaper. Goody
AR AW871 wireless speakers.......2007-12-20
The wireless speakers are great and they were very easy to install. My only disappointment is that the volume is controlled on the speakers themselves; no longer can I turn the volume up or down on my receiver, and my remote for the reciever is useless. It's not a major drawback since I don't play music a lot. I would think if I did, that would be a problem. If AR would come up with a remote for these speakers, that would help.
Worst buy ever!!.......2007-12-10
These speakers worked great for about a month and then all of a sudden they lost signal and stopped working altogether. Tried to contact the company, they siad there was must be to much interference in my home, this was causing them not to work.
Great for a party.......2007-12-09
I purchased this as a gift to my parents so they could have outdoor parties. We love it. The sound is fair to good depending on the signal, but it served its purpose for bringing the music outside. The good thing is that the music still plays on the stereo inside while the speakers are on. We have also used it with our iPod and it was fabulous as well. Great buy!
Not the very best........2007-11-09
Acoustic Research AW-871 Wireless Stereo Speakers It was easy to install, and the sound is good. I have a problem with a popping sound. Even when the stereo is off. One or both of the speakers will pop on and off, for no apparent reason.

Customer Reviews:
They are trashcan bound..........2007-12-21
These headphones are simply no good. First they arrived with stone-dead rechargable batteries. I had to pay to replace them. Now they work, but very intermittently and the sound quality is miserable - lots of static and frequent loud squeals and squawks. Don't waste your time and money. What has happened to JVC? They used to be a respectable company.
Great sound, a bit hard to handle.......2007-12-10
The audio quality of these headphones is good, but the power and channel buttons on the ear cones are too easy to press accidentally.
Also, the headphones produce wireless interference with your head at certain angles.
The headphones are big and bulky and make it hard to lie down and watch.
Works as great as I hoped!.......2007-12-01
Took a long time for the initial charging, but it works great. It has good sound, the volume is adjustable, and has held charge for a long time.
Will return it tomorrow.......2007-11-24
I bought one from CircuitCity because I am suspicious that I might need to return it, although JVC is a brand I didn't have bad experience so far. This headphone is a real disappointment. Not only it has static noice, hard to charge, but 5 out of 10 times it cannot pick up the signal at all. I tried everything and it worked eventually, but I don't know which action causes this. Sometimes it did get the signal from the beginning, but after charging for a while, it cannot pick up the signal again. The instruction is not helpful either.
Anyway, I am quite disappointed at the product. Will return it tomorrow.
A value for the money........2007-11-19
Sound quality is good. Unit is a little bulky. Battery time is great. I'd buy again. Hope they come out with a smaller model.

football happiness.......2007-12-21
to keep peace on football days i purchased this unit so my wife would not be disturbed(she hates football). so far it is working well. to keep peace, buy it.
Wireless headphones? Does it means sound quality?.......2007-12-14
I bought this wireless headphones expecting at least good sound quality. It didn't fit my expectations because the sound quality is poor and sometimes it gets some kind of interference and you have to tune it constantly. Anyway this headphones are good to use in watching movies or tv but not to listen hi-fi music.
Good sound, easy to recharge, wireless freedom.......2007-12-10
SOUND QUALITY: 4 out of 5
These headphones produce a flat sound (treble and bass don't overpower the mids). The bass tends to kicks in more as the volume is increased. Wireless reception is fairly clear, however some hiss/whitenoise is audible if the volume is set high on the headset. This seems to be a common issue for any 900 MHz headphones. To minimize the hiss, it helps to turn up the volume on the input source (TV, stereo, PC, etc.) as much as possible and try not to max out the volume on the headset. A stronger signal from the source will also give you more range and minimize interference. I have a 5.8 GHz phone, 802.11g wifi (2.4 GHz), GSM mobile phone (1900 MHz), and an LCD TV all within 10 ft of the base and haven't noticed any interference problems. If you move around a lot, it may experience some interference similar to terrestrial radio the farther you get from the base.
COMFORT: 4 out of 5
The cans are about 1/4" deep, so they press down on my ears a little. I can wear them for a couple hours before I start to feel a little discomfort around my ears. But at least they are relatively light and don't cause any major neck strain for me. They might even be okay to wear while running on a treadmill, though I haven't tried it. I am a size 7 hat size, but these headphones should have no problems fitting larger heads. The top headband is cushioned and the earpieces are adjustable on all 3-axis. The cans block out about 30% of the exterior noise, so you can definitely still have a conversation with them on.
BATTERIES/CHARGING: 3 out of 5
To charge the batteries, you just set the headphones into the base and the charging light will turn on. It really is idiot proof and I don't understand how anyone would have problems. The batteries are standard NiMH rechargeable batteries and go into the left earpiece. Some negative points: The charge indicator shows a red color when charging, but there's no indicator to show when the batteries are fully charged. Also, I can hear a very high pitched noise/squeal when the headphones are charging on the base (possibly a defective unit). Most people may not notice it, but if you have sensitive ears, it may annoy you if you are within a feet away of the base while charging. I usually charge mine overnight while I'm sleeping, so it's not a big enough reason to exchange it. You can also remove the batteries and recharge them in a separate charger. Non-rechargeable alkaline AAA batteries may be used as well (don't charge them in the base however).
CONTROLS: 4 out of 5
The power button, volume, and fine tuning controls are on the right earpiece. I had no problem tuning it to pick up the signal from the base. Once it's tuned, you rarely have to adjust it. You will know when the batteries are low because the volume will get lower or sound will cut out because it's too weak to pick up the base signal. If you plan to use these headphones with your TV, be sure your TV allows you to adjust the volume when outputting via RCA or headphone jack.
CONCLUSION:
It's obvious the AW722 doesn't output reference quality sound, but for $50 I think it serves its intended purpose well. If you want better sound isolation and higher wireless fidelity, you'll have to spend a lot more or go with wired headphones. But for casual listening to music or when watching TV, these headphones will give you the freedom to move about and do other things without getting tangled up in a cord.
Keeps ears warm - but ear muffs come in more colors........2007-12-10
Comfortable headphones for keeping ears warm, not much else. Purchased for product features, including charger. Charger did not work after 2 days. Headphones stopped working after 8 hours gentle use--transmitter kept sending signals though. Very disappointed in product - would not recommend - loose wires, poor reliability.
Doesn't work with Plasma TV's!.......2007-12-02
I purchased this headset mainly for watching movies. To my surprise I got terrible static with it and then I saw on page 12 of the manual that plasma displays may interfere with normal operation. I was very disappointed, but Amazon agreed to take this item back for full credit instead of an 80% credit since it was opened.

Great Product.......2007-12-12
This product was exactly what I have been searching for. I have purchased four similar products in the past two years and was very disappointed. I do not know of a better product for the price and for the satisfaction it has afforded me. I am totally deaf in my left ear and partially deaf in my right ear and this was the perfect solution to my hearing problems with television, record, cd players and radios. I would recommend this product to anybody with or without a hearing problem.
amazon is great, headphones just OK.......2007-11-25
These have lots of background noise and cut out. They are fairly comfortable, though do not adjust to a small head. We need them, so they are OK, but I am not impressed. They did arrive very quickly, Amazon was great as usual and cheaper than the store.
Fabulous.......2007-09-07
I purchased the Wireless stereo headphones about 6 months ago for my very hard of hearing husband. He loves them because now he can hear the television...and I love them because I can talk on the phone or watch/listen to television at a much quieter level.
Remarkable, no interference, great sound, comfortable to wear and now a fantastically happy home.
Great Wireless Headphones !.......2007-08-24
This set of headphones is just right. Good plastic; headgear that is not overly fussy; responsive buttons with good button feel. Tuning is immediate, and the transmission is good. The ear cushions are great... very soft vinyl.
I have a earlier model AR wireless headphone set which I like, but those earlier phones are bulky, made of cheap plastic... with foam earpieces that don't feel that great.
These new AR772 phones are easy to carry and wear. The recharging unit works nicely with no fuss. The sound is great.
Teenage pacifier.......2007-08-06
My 14 year old son bought the headphones and basically has not taken them off. He loves them and walks all over the house and basement listening to his music.

etymotic ety8 bluetooth earphones review.......2007-12-18
I bought this pair of earphones for a recently purchased Samsung Yp-P2 mp3 player with built-in bluetooth. I was not sure if these would work because of the ipod adapter, but they were very easy to set up with the p2. They have fantastic sound quality, especially for bluetooth headphones. Although they do look a little strange, after a little while with them in your ears, you'll forget you have them on. They are surprisingly very lightweight. The different attachments that go in your ear were also very helpful. I have had problems with the fit of earphones, but i was able to find the right attachments for my ears with this etymotic set. The noise cancellation was surprisingly outstanding too, even though it is only noise-isolating. I could not hear people talking near me unless i put my ear right up to their mouth. My only complaint is that in the spaces between songs, their is some static. I also would not recommend purchasing these if you intend to use them for running or anything like that.
Pros
-sound quality-best i've heard so far
-great bass but not overpowering
-comfort
-ease of use
Cons
-looks
-some static
-have to hold on to right earphone while pressing controls
Prepare yourself for these earphones.......2007-09-27
Up front, I have to say, if you have no patience, don't get these. But if you're willing to give yourself a little bit of a curve to get used to them, they are worth every penny. You'll never give them up.
I've played music all my life, and sound fidelity is important to me. When I first got the ETY 8 earphones as a gift, the form almost overcame the function for me. It took some getting used to the in-ear placement of the earphones - you really have to get them placed deeply into your ear, which felt odd at first, and took some practice to be able to do quickly. Then, there was the sort of odd feel of the two pieces hanging off my ears. Plus, they look a little bit odd. OK, so I got over the oddness. The earphones are actually very light, and once you get used to the feel, you forget they're there. Because they'd been a gift, I kind of felt obligated to use them, so I powered thru the initial getting-used-to it period, and then I started to understand what these earphones are all about.
It's about real sound. Not over-cranked, duded-up bass, but real high fidelity sound. From a wireless earphone, which I didn't expect. I don't know of another pair of earphones that reproduces the original artists' sound with so faithfully. No kidding. It's really different than the deep pulsing bass you get with Bose and many other earphones on the market. You hear the individual instruments, and the color of the sound. And the noise isolation function of this type of in-ear insertion is superior. I can be riding the Muni bus downtown and be in a world of my own. Even on an airplane, the sense of uninterrupted sound clarity is flat out awesome.
If you like driving around in a car with your radio blaring and your bass shaking the drivers around you, these are not the right earphones for you. But if you are a seeker of true high fidelity sound, go for them.
I want to love these..........2007-05-28
I want to love these headphones. They are comfortable, they sound great, they noise isolate as well as any other set I own, and no wires! Other reviews say the range isn't great, but that isn't important to me - I generally have my iPod in backpack, bag, or pocket and just don't want wires dangling around me.
I was all set to give these a 5, but then I had a synchronization problem. I had my iPod in my hands, my headphones in my ears, and for whatever reason, I just couldn't hear the music - in fact, the little green light wouldn't come on on the transmitter - but the operation is just plug and play - couldn't have been a user error on my part. I sat on a plane between Portland, Oregon and Washington, D.C., cursing my headphones the whole way. Now the operation appears to be intermittent. I have no idea under what condition they will decide to work and when they won't, so I end up carrying a spare pair of earbuds with me.
Love no wires.......2007-02-26
I love not having wires for my ipod. However, these bluetooth earbuds don't hold to the usual standards of quality sound that Etymotic claims.
I find the sound quality, for the price, mid-range. My bose earbuds for $99.00 sound better with greater depth in bass. I don't agree that they look wierd since they are very small and fit well in the ear. It is great to garden and ride my bike without getting tangled in wires so I am keeping them but feel more work needs to be done on the performance. Dr.Horn
Great Sound But Poor Design and Range.......2007-02-24
Being the third bluetooth headset I bought (and the most expensive), I had high expectations of these Ety8s.
The biggest quirk is that the headphones shut off when I placed my finger near the FWD/NEXT button. Even the tech support could not understand how just getting close to the button would cause the phones to shut off, but I did not even have to press the button!
In an open gym, just 12 feet from my iPod would cause the sound to drop and stutter. I got much better range (almost 50 feet!) in the same gym with my iMuffs.
The ear plugs were also very uncomfortable when being inserted and did not get much better with time. I am used to the Shure E2c headphones, so in-ear is not new to me. With such a strange design (on top of it all, Etymotic needs to head back to the design board!

Customer Reviews:
Great Adapter.......2007-07-20
The adapter works perfectly in full stereo, not many complaints other than the size of the thing. I plan to be careful with it because it has quite a bit of leverage to be able to inflict major pain on my Palm Treo if bent or stressed.
Palm Treo Headphone Adapter.......2007-05-29
It's a good product, but it's very big and with a bad move, it can broke the phone. Use it very carefully. I recomend to use a bluetooth stereo headset to avoid damage your Treo.
Great.......2007-05-13
It does exactly what it's supposed to do. Didn't break when i dropped it.
Fine adapter.......2007-03-20
Does its job. A bit large. Solid build but adds unnecessary bulk. Works great on an HTC Wizard (t-mobile MDA)
This is the way to go...........2006-11-14
After looking for earphones for the Treo 650 and not finding any good one I decided to go the adapter route. Cant say I am dissapointed.
Although it does add to the length of the phone in your pocket and does'nt look very aesthetic, functionally I could'nt be happier.
