great deal.......2007-05-29
product arrived as expected
work exactly the way it was suppose to
Great product.......2007-05-14
We were looking for Bluetooth technology for Motorola/Sony computer. This is perfect.
Don't lose your disk.......2007-04-02
Product work fine once you figure out it's little idiosyncracies. Had a lot of trouble getting the computer to recognize the adapter whenever i unplugged it. Had to remove and reinstall the software on occasion. Also remember once it tells you that a connection has been established you may still need to press the button on the RIGHT side of the headphones (Motorola HT820) to hear anything. Would recommend it if you can get it at a good price like i did, but would not buy it retail.
Not as bad as they say...........2007-03-28
This little unit works great for me along with an H500 bluetooth headset. I use it for making calls via Skype and have had great success. I bought mine used from another very large online auction site and also didn't receive any drivers.
A resourceful and web savvy internet user could have easily found them and had them installed in less than 20 minutes....At least that's what I did. Lot's of folks have them posted on FTP servers and other locations. They are out there, you just need to put forth a little effort in finding them.
My experience with this product has been just fine.
great.......2007-02-12
Fast shipment, great , now I can listen to stereo music from my laptop when I'm in any room

Save your money........2007-12-13
This is not as good as others that I have bought. Save your money.
skype voip bundle.......2007-05-16
Excellent product.Worked like a charm. No problems at all.Would gladly recomend to customers who prefer cordless free headset.
Don't waste your time or money -- it really sucks........2007-04-26
In spite of the bad reviews, I thought I would give it a try for myself. I have a brand new top quality HP computer. Hook up was easy, but sound quality really is very poor. Don't waste your time or money.
PC850 is useless. H500 is OK.......2007-03-24
I bought this bundle at Fry's. I got it primarily for the H500 headset to use with my cell phone, a Blackberry Pearl 8100. The H500 works fine with it. The sound quality is not great - there are a few cracks and pops, but it serves the purpose well of being able to take calls while driving without having to removing the Blackberry from its holster and press the answer button, which is very dangerous.
The PC850 adapter is another story altogether. I wanted to use it with Yahoo messenger to make voice calls with online buddies. I have tried wired headsets, but I can't use them because my cats keep chewing the headset cable each time I get a new one. So I was hoping this Bluetooth headset would be the solution. But alas, no joy :-( Unlike other posters, my computer is a desktop and I was able to install the software from the miniCD . I was able to start making calls. The sound quality was significantly worse than with the cell phone, even with the H500 located only 3ft away from the PC850. This may be due to the amount of electronics I have in my home office. But what really made it useless is that the PC kept losing the connection to the H500 in the middle of calls, usually with 2-3 minutes. I don't know if the problem lies with the PC850 or its software.
I called Motorola support about this problem. The lady from India wanted to send me another CD. I kept telling her that I could read the CD just fine. I asked if there was a new version to download. After repeating and rephrasing the question multiple times and being put on hold a while, it turned out I already had the latest version, and there is none available for download. I was referred to Widcomm, which I was told makes the PC850. Widcomm was acquired by Broadcom, and they don't offer end-user support - they say that the manufacturer of each device customizes the software and supports it themselves. So, basically, the PC850 software is unsupported. Beware ! I'm considering returning the bundle PC850/H500 and getting only a Bluetooth headset for my phone due to this fact, and looking into separate USB wireless headset for the computer/VoIP use.
Don't buy this product........2007-02-21
Do not buy this product for VOIP applications (Skype, GoogleTalk, YahooVoice.) The buzzing noise will drive you and the receiver of your calls crazy. Multiple attempts to resolve the issue and a replacement unit have not resolved the problem. Tech support acts like they've never heared of a complaint like this --- Ha! You can see from the reviews that it is a persistent problem.

PROBABLY A GREAT PRODUCT BUT...........2007-12-09
This is probably a great product but I realized after it finally got to my house and I ripped open the packaging that it doesn't work with WINDOWS VISTA. Motorola has announced it is releasing a new bluetooth adapter with Windows Vista support rather than updating the software for this particular model (PC850). So if you have windows VISTA heed my warning, save yourself the time and the money and get a different model or brand and make sure it is compatible (on the products webpage) before you purchase any product.
First one that worked.......2007-09-08
I had gone thru several bluetooth adapters trying to get my Motorola S9 headset paired with my computer. On all the other I stuggled for over 3 hours each. This one recognized and pair easily.
Not easy to use.......2007-05-22
This device is a hit or miss. It took about 4 hours to pick up a signal on my phone. I purchase it to transfer songs to my phone from my computer. However, it would not transfer them. I would recomend buying a cable and cd to transfer music. This device will only make you frustrated.

Customer Reviews:
Beware! Does not work with Vista!!!.......2007-12-26
The PC-850 adapter does not work with Vista and to my knowledge Motorola is not writing a software patch to make it work. With XP with system worked great. If you've got Vista, look elsewhere.
Good with cell phone, my PC can't detect it.......2007-05-16
Something is awry with Amazon's database. This item appears on different pages, I guess for different vendors that sell it.
I got the headset and USB adapter to use with VoIP on my PC. The headset did not have any setup instructions. The USB adapter's CD had only drivers, and the packaging included a one-page Motostart guide that's like a cartoon strip. After installing the drivers, when I unplugged the USB adapter, my PC crashed -- DOS error message. Had to power down, a serious error. This happened every time.
I followed another reviewer's advice and looked on Skype pages (search for bluetooth headset). Those tips (most recent was from 2005) caused crashes too. I should browse Microsoft's site to see whether they now have downloadable drivers for bluetooth audio devices. The drivers that came with the USB adapter is waaay below Motorola's expected product quality.
My PC cannot detect the headset. For bluetooth devices, the PC detected itself and my cell phone which was 50 feet away, but not the headset which was within 3 inches of the PC's bluetooth antenna.
So, I can use the headset for talking on the phone, although the voice quality was so-so. Abandon using the USB adapter. Oh and the power plug to charge the headset is European standard, with a US adapter.
And what's with the pricing? My husband got the nickel colored one, I the pink. Didn't know there was a light green one or I would have gotten it. All the same model number, H500, but the prices vary by nearly fifty dollars. Weird.
Setup completed, works great!.......2007-04-03
This is good product, but the setup necessary to get it going was not effective until I visited the Skype website. This step led me to disable the computer's microphone functions in order to get the headset to work. After that the thing worked very well. I like being able to move around and talk on the phone and it works well with XM over the computer as well.
A good purchase.

Customer Reviews:
Terrible. Difficult to install and fine tuning. Lots of noise........2007-11-04
I bought this product about 1 month ago and it is not working properly. I think there are some tuning that needs to happen so that the sound will work correctly. After hours of testing I was not able make it work correctly. There is a background noise during the call/chat and the other person on the other line cannot hear my voice. If I knew that it was so dificult to install/ configure this product, I would not have bought it. Now, I don't know if I still have time to return it and how to proceed. I didn't use the free minutes card with skype yet. Please advise.
Good for cell phone, not for PC.......2007-05-16
I got this specific item for the USB adapater to use VoIP on my PC. The USB adapter came with a CD that contained only drivers, no instructions. The headset had no setup instructions. My PC cannot detect the headset. It detected my cell phone from 50 feet away, but not the headset that's within 3 inches of the PC's bluetooth antenna. And the power plug is European with a US adapter.
When I unplugged the USB adapter, my PC crashed -- blue screened. That means a bad driver, bad software. I know being a Microsoft developer is challenging (no standard drivers nor APIs yet), but I'm surprised that MOTO did such a bad job.
Bottom line, the USB adapter didn't work for me.
So, shall I keep the headset only for talking on my cell phone? It interfaced with the phone with no setup. The sound quality is so-so.
And what's with the pricing for the headset? My husband got the nickel colored one, I the bubble gum pink. There's a light green one that I would have gotten, had I seen it. The pricing is different for different colors, same model number (no USB adapter). The price difference can be as great as fifty bucks. ????
