Great Television!.......2007-12-21

This slim, sleek, television takes up less space than my old one and yet has a bigger screen. It is a gorgeous product. Fantastic picture so you can sit on the sofa and enjoy. Clear, crisp colors. Good sound. Easy to hook up right out of the box. I would recommended this television to anyone.

This television is 720p but it does an exceptional job when combined with a Samsung AR600 dvd player. Regular DVD's are very pleasing to view using this combination. However, the upscaling is very good even when playing just plain analog signals. I am especially pleased with the 8000:1 dynamic contrast which results in nice blacks for an LCD tv. I honestly do not believe that there is a better 32 inch LCD television currently on the market. I purchased this television from Warehouse_Deals for $612 + $26 shipping. Though the delivery date was due after Thanksgiving, Eagle shipping routed it thru another trucking company at my request so I could get it before Thanksgiving. Exceptional customer oriented service and many kudos to them!

Just got this TV last week. Overall the experience with Amazon and their shipping company was great. TV was delivered inside the house and unpackaged. From order to arrival, it was only 3 business days!

The TV is well constructed as you would expect from Samsung. The sound is great, the picture even greater. Why buy anything else than a Samsung! I have 2 of them now, the other a DLP.

If you're considering a smallish LCD for a bedroom (like me), and thought about going the cheap route with D.R., Vizio, Olevia, etc., don't. When you compare the features and picture and sound quality of these brands to the Samsung, it's worth the extra $200-$250 to get top quality.

Setup was a breeze. Nice side panel "touch" controls and a good remote. Tons of connections in the back. Very light weight. The stand is nice looking and functional, if maybe a bit loose, but once screwed in, no issues.

Feature-wise it allows you to control about everything to customize the picture to your taste. For a bedroom, an LCD screen is quite bright, but you're able to dim the backlight and the brightness to dim the image down to a more viewable picture that doesn't light up the whole room...without reducing image quality. All the HDTV channels look beautiful, especially sports and HDT. I have it hooked up via Comp Video, since my current cable box doesn't have HDMI. I can't imagine much improvement through going HDMI, other than less cable clutter. SDTV channels, while side-barred, are not bad either. Maybe a bit better than my DLP, but it's close.

Overall, if you're considering an LCD TV with 720p/1080i definition (I see no need to go with 1080p on this screen size, Also-- NO ONE is broadcasting in 1080p and you couldn't tell the difference anyway at this screen size), this is the one to buy. For less than $800, it's a great deal. You will not be disappointed.

Problems right away.......2007-12-17

Within a few hours we got a loud pitched sound coming from the TV. Later on the audio and video when in HD kept on freezing. We are getting a new one but I am not sure that this is going towork. Amazon told us that we would get our money back if this new one does not work.

Still waiting for delivery. Did not deliver as told at the time of ordering. If you want to get your TV in any reasonable amount of time go to Wal-Mart or Best Buy. I knew better than order a big-ticket item on Amazon. Just stick with ordering books here. TV is still sitting in Atlanta and has been there for several days.

Excellent TV.......2007-10-10

I have had this TV for several months now, and I must say that I am very happy. The picture is bright, sharp, and colorful. HD DVD and Blu-Ray discs look excellent on this set, and it is really the best way to use this set. Standard DVDs look very good, but would probably be better with a DVD player that up-converts standard DVDs to HD quality. Standard cable TV looks good, but not as good as on a conventional tube TV. The menus are easy to navigate.

Energy consumption: First, this TV puts off some heat. Not as bad as a plasma, but I definitely feel the heat on my hand within 4 to 5 inches of the screen. The screen gets very warm to the touch, but not hot. The set has an energy saving feature that can be controlled from the remote. The energy saving feature has four settings (Off, Low, Med, and High). The 'off' setting gives you the brightest and most colorful picture. I only use this setting for watching movies, or if the room lighting is very bright. The 'high' setting reduces the brightness of the screen, and considerably cuts down on the heat output. Personally, I use the 'medium' and 'high' settings for most of my regular TV viewing.

My only real complaint of this set is the remote. It has a poor layout, with the number buttons near the top and the 'Enter' button on the lower part of the remote. If you enter channel selections directly, you have to awkwardly shift your hand to hit the enter button. The most annoying thing about the remote is the fact that you have to point it directly at the TV for it to work (no bouncing signals off the walls like most remotes). If you are pointing the remote off center of the TV by just a few degrees, it won't work. I don't know if it a design problem with the remote or the sensor in the TV, but it sucks. Whoever designed it that way should be taken out back and flogged!

Overall, a great TV that I highly recommend. I took one star away because of the design of the remote. Happy viewing!

I have it for about 9 months now.Everything works fine.Excellent picture.One of the sleekest designs for last year models.Bright colors.Wish it would have cable ready slot being a cable subscriber.Plus cable makes tvs remote & some of the features completely useless as well as cable box remote becomes handicapped with some features like chaging the volume by pressing once in a time to raise or lower bars on volume control versus continuous action. 20 watts of power of onboard speaker system deffinitely not enough for poor channel signal or in the same room with working a/c.Consider buying home theater system with this tv set.However most of tvs stay within the same range of power in this class.Could have more inputs available if you have a lot of gear to link with.Overall very satisfied with picture quality & style.Deffinitely recommend it!!!

great tv but dead pixel problems from day 1.......2007-07-15

well not from day one more like day 15 since I've had the tv, at first I thought it was a bad connection but then I called up samsung and its a dead pixel problem. the tv turns red and the pixels move with the tv no joke, I have pictures to prove it and will post a video on youtube if I can. Then it fixes itself and looks as if it never happened, well luckily its still under warranty and hopefully it can be fixed and never happen again, but anyway back to the tv. 360 looks amazing on this tv, regular xbox looks just ok. as for pc hook up its ok as well, the text is really small but playing videos from your computer looks really good and its not bad as a computer monitor. There are 3 things I don't like about the tv, the remote the glossy finish, and it takes awhile to turn on. The glossy finish does look classy but it scratches really easily and I don't like that I like my tv looking new you can't see them far away but when you look at it up close its very noticeable. Yes and the sound and remote is week but not horrible as some people say I actually don't mind the remote. If you're looking for quality go with this tv if you're looking for reliability buy it at a store and not online.
