    Mitsubishi LT-52144 52" 120Hz 1080p LCD HDTV

    Amazon.com Product Description

Mitsubishi's LT-52144 is a 52-inch 1080p flat panel HDTV that incorporates the latest technologies for more accurate color reproduction and a picture that is more life-like than before. This 52-inch HDTV is ideal as part of a home theater system in a medium-to-large-sized room.

With Deep Color technology, shaded images show less banding and greater contrast. View larger. View back panel.

Mitsubishi's Smooth120Hz technology prevents image judder for a smoother image during sports and action scenes. View larger.
Lots Of Pixels In a Small Thin Box
This 52-inch HDTV is just six inches thick but packs in a lot of technology for outstanding performance. Quality speakers are hidden away to maintain a beautiful, minimalist look that takes up less space in your room. The display is 1080p, which means it has the full 1920 x 1080 high definition resolution with progressive scan that is the highest quality HDTV standard today. With large televisions, this is important, as having a dense array of over two million pixels prevents the eye from seeing pixelation, especially at close distances.

The television is able to display any video signal that is connected to it. When a 1080p signal is the input, it is passed through with no down conversion, and the 1080p signal is maintained from beginning to end, giving the best picture quality. When a lower resolution is detected, whether it is 720p HD or a DVD, the signal is automatically scaled to display at 1080p, with minimal side effects and an extremely detailed picture.

In addition, the LT-52144 relies on Mitsubishi's Smooth120Hz technology that utilizes a 120Hz refresh rate to prevent image judder and create an even smoother image during fast-motion scenes.

Vibrant Colors You've Never Seen Before
The LT-52144 incorporates a slew of new technologies that give this television the most realistic color reproduction available on the market today. The new x.v.Color standard is supported, which dramatically increases the color space available, with 80% more color than standard HDTV. The television also supports Deep Color, a new standard that incorporates 10-bit color depth versus the previous 8-bit color depth. With Deep Color, shaded images show less banding and greater contrast.

Mitsubishi's Full Spectrum Color is an exclusive system that uses a wide range of phosphors in the LCD's backlight for brighter and more vivid reds and yellows, and more shades of green, cyan, and blue. Along with Mitsubishi's Color 4D Noise Reduction and PerfectColor, you get a wider color palette and the ability to fine tune the set to your exact preferences. The end result is a picture that is brighter, smoother, and more realistic than ever, with colors that have never been seen on a television set before.

    Connections Galore
You don't need to worry about running out of connections with the LT-52144. It has a total of three HDMI 1.3 inputs with Simplay HD certification, so you can connect your Blu-Ray player, HD DVD player, and still have an input left over. It also has three component video inputs (two rear, one side), a side USB connection so you can display up to five megapixel photographs on the television, and two rear A/V inputs with S-Video. It has a Dolby Digital/PCM output and an analog stereo output. Mitsuibishi's NetCommand allows the included partially-illuminated remote to control an entire home theater system.

The LT-52144 is backed by a limited 1-year warranty.

    2 out of 5 stars Disappointed.......2007-12-25

I bought the Mitsubishi LT-52133 52" LCD a couple of weeks ago thinking I was buying a good leading brand name tv. Not So.
I don't know if it is because the refresh rate is only 60hz, but a lot of the time the picture looks smeared. When someone is talking or when there is a close up of someones face, as they move around it looks like their nose and cheeks can't keep up with their movements making the picture look smeared. At times this is really bad and makes it hard to watch the tv at all.
I am really disappointed in the picture quality of this tv, and would advise against buying one. I emailed Mitsubishi about this and got no reply.

    5 out of 5 stars Amazing!.......2007-11-20

I am a HDTV addict but refuse to buy the "latest & gratest". I have 5 HDTV sets from a 32" to a 120" projection setup that range from 1080i to 1080p but this set is by far the best picture of the bunch. I purchased this unit to put in a plasma lift cabinet that was designed to hold "up to" a 50" plasma but I prefer the look of LCD over plasma. I was going to put a 47" LCD in it but when I found this slim 52" I had to see if it would fit. Not only did it fit - it is now my favorite set in my home.

Mitsubishi WD-52527 52" LCD Projection HDTV

    Amazon.com Product Description

You'll enjoy a breathtaking viewing experience from any video source with the amazingly large and bright 52-inch Mitsubishi MicroDisplay WD-52527 high-definition, rear-projection LCD. Featuring a simple, clean design with a compact cabinet (at just 17.8 inches deep), the WD-52527 will fit into virtually any home theater furnishings without crowding the surroundings. It includes dual HD tuners and a wide variety of digital inputs (including two HDMI inputs and two Firewire ports). It's also digital cable ready with the integrated CableCARD slot and incorporates TV Guide's On Screen program guide for easy viewing of what's on today and seven days into the future.

It delivers stunningly bright images thanks to Mitsubishi's proprietary 3LCD light engine and Plush720p imaging technology, which converts lower quality analog to HDTV resolution. The 3LCD technology simultaneously projects three full-time red, green and blue images, so there's no color breakup or "rainbow effect" that may cause eyestrain or visual fatigue.

The WD-52527 has a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and compatibility with 480i/480p/720p/1080i video sources. It pumps out audio via its integrated 20-watt speaker system (10 watts per two channels) and also offers Mitsubishi's Level Sound Dynamics Limiter features, which evens out the sound of programs--even during loud commercial breaks. A 480-line motion-adaptive 3D Y/C digital comb filter delivers state-of-the-art detail and color enhancement.

Other convenience features include color temperature controls, full-screen image freeze, two tuner picture-in-picture (PIP), split screen, six 4:3 aspect ratio and two 16:9 aspect ratio picture formats, channel labeling, V-Chip parental controls, and a sleep timer. This set features the following video and audio connections:

The IEEE 1394 (also known as Firewire or i.Link) multimedia connection enables simple, low-cost, high-bandwidth real-time audio, video and data networking between a Mitsubishi TV and other consumer electronics products such as camcorders and DVHS VCRs. With IEEE 1394 compatible products and systems, users can record SD or HD digital video over a plug-and-play A/V network.

    Proprietary Mitsubishi Features
This television includes several exclusive Mitsubishi technologies that enhance its picture as well as ease of use.

    Tech Talk
A microdisplay television typically offers a large screen with a cabinet that's deeper than standard LCD and plasma screens, but far more compact than old-school cathode-ray television (CRTs). This rear-projection TV projects red, green, and blue light that's filtered through a pixel-filled microchip color wheel and directed onto a digital micromirror device (DMD), a chip with millions of hinged, microscopic mirrors attached, which switches on and off up to 5,000 times a second. The reflected light is directed through a lens and onto a screen, creating an image. Unlike rear-projection CRT sets, all microdisplays can get quite bright without losing detail, so they're perfectly watchable in brightly lit rooms.

HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).

    5 out of 5 stars Super Value!!!.......2007-03-26

Great TV! HDTV looks super! Replaced my old HDTV ready bulky projection with this model. Had to buy the LOGITECH surround (wireless rear speakers ladies!!!) and its a value home theater (not bad for $1300 total!). I wouldnt bother with plasma when you have this option for thousands less. My son loves his Playstation 2 games on this tv. Cant wait till HD DVD players come down (or Ill just get a PS3 and be done with it!!). Shipping was cool since the gal helped me bring it into our room. Thanks AMAZON for providing us consumers with a great price and service!

5 out of 5 stars Pretty great deal.......2007-01-27

Came much sooner than expected packed really well and the delivery guy even helped carry it down stairs. Great experience and an amazing deal. Great tv!

    5 out of 5 stars Great Product!!!.......2007-01-23

This is a great product. I have never owned any electronics by Mitsubishi before and was a little nervous to purchase it. The price was one that I could not refuse though. The picture quality is great and set up was easy to do! I highly advise anyone considering this product to purchase!!!

3 out of 5 stars Do Your Homework.......2005-12-10

I originally bought an LG 52SX4D the first had visible streaks of light on the screen and would not come on or cut off at times. I got a replacement, which had a beautiful picture, but again it would not come on one time, which was enough for me to change to another brand (Mitsubishi). It is working perfectly, but has a noticeable "screen door effect" which I have decided is not worth the extra $$ to upgrade to the DLP model. Anyways get what suits you and your budget and remember almost all current technologies have certain trade offs as far as picture quality is concerned.

      Amazon.com Product Description

You'll enjoy a breathtaking viewing experience from any video source with the amazingly large and bright 52-inch Mitsubishi MicroDisplay WD-52531 high-definition, rear-projection LCD. Featuring a simple, clean design with a compact cabinet (at under 18 inches deep), this set will fit into virtually any home theater furnishings without crowding the surroundings. It includes dual HD tuners and a wide variety of digital inputs (including two HDMI inputs and two Firewire ports). It's also digital cable ready with the integrated CableCARD slot and incorporates TV Guide's On Screen program guide for easy viewing of what's on today and seven days into the future.

The WD-52531 improves on the previous model (WD-52527) with a new and improved light engine featuring a 132-watt lamp (producing 20 percent more light). Large aperture optics improve the efficiency of the Mitsubishi LCD light engine by assuring that more of the available light reaches the screen for a smoother and brighter picture. This new television design also allows for a wider vertical viewing angle so that a bright and detailed picture can be viewed from a multi-level loft or while playing a video game when seated on the floor.

Also, Mitsubishi's 3D Video Noise Reduction system provides a cleaner, clearer picture from nearly any source by analyzing multiple frames to identify and remove video noise or snow caused by distortions in the video signal. This effectively keeps detail in the foreground and eliminates background noise, even in fast moving scenes.

      Mitsubishi WD-52631 52" 1080p DLP HDTV

      Product Description

The WD-52631 1080p DLP HDTV produces exceptionally sharp and clear high resolution pictures. At its heart is an exclusive 1080p light engine, the first to offer Mitsubishi's 6-Primary Color System. This proprietary Mitsubishi digital light engine provides the perfect picture, whether watching broadcast, cable or satellite TV, as well as DVD or video games. It is powered by TurboLight150, Mitsubishi's patented lamp system design, which focuses light more efficiently to generate a 10% brighter on-screen image than that produced by a standard 150 watt lamp system.

      Amazon.com Product Description

You'll enjoy a breathtaking viewing experience from any video source with the amazingly large and bright 52-inch Mitsubishi WD-52631 1080p digital light projection (DLP) television. Because 1080p provides twice the resolution of the high definition 720p or 1080i displays found in most HDTVs today, you'll get more vivid pictures--no matter the scene or content. Featuring a simple, clean design with a compact cabinet (at under 19 inches deep), the WD-52631 will fit into virtually any home theater furnishings without crowding the surroundings. It includes dual HD tuners, a QAM tuner that's fully compatible with unscrambled HDTV cable reception, and a wide variety of digital inputs (including two HDMI, three component, and a Firewire port). It also incorporates TV Guide's On Screen program guide for easy viewing of what's on today and seven days into the future.

It delivers stunningly bright and detailed images thanks to MitsubishiÕs proprietary 1080p DLP chip and the high-speed Plush1080p video processor (with a 6-segment, 10,800 RPM color wheel), which up-converts 1080i signals to 1080p producing four times the resolution of traditional line doublers (see more about Mitsubishi's exclusive set of video-enhancing technologies below).

The WD-52631 improves on the previous model (WD-52627) with a new and improved light engine featuring a 132-watt lamp (producing 20 percent more light).

Also, Mitsubishi's 4D Video Noise Reduction system provides a cleaner, clearer picture from nearly any source by analyzing multiple frames to identify and remove video noise or snow caused by distortions in the video signal. This effectively keeps detail in the foreground and eliminates background noise, even in fast moving scenes.

The WD-52631 has a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and compatibility with 480i/480p/720p/1080i video sources. It pumps out audio via its integrated 20-watt speaker system (10 watts per two channels) and also offers Mitsubishi's Level Sound Dynamics Limiter features, which evens out the sound of programs--even during loud commercial breaks. It also includes a multi-format memory card reader, enabling you to display still photo slideshows and play digital music files (MP3 and WMA).

Other convenience features include color temperature controls, full-screen image freeze, two tuner picture-in-picture (PIP), split screen, six 4:3 aspect ratio and two 16:9 aspect ratio picture formats, channel labeling, V-Chip parental controls, and a sleep timer. This set features the following video and audio connections:

The IEEE 1394 (also known as Firewire or i.Link) multimedia connection provides simple, high-bandwidth, real-time audio, video and data networking between this Mitsubishi TV and digital video camcorders and compatible PC systems, enabling you to record SD or HD digital video with plug-and-play ease.

      Proprietary Mitsubishi Features
This television includes several exclusive Mitsubishi technologies that enhance its picture as well as ease of use.

      Tech Talk
A microdisplay television (also called DLP) typically offers a large screen with a cabinet that's deeper than standard LCD and plasma screens, but far more compact than old-school cathode-ray television (CRTs).

      What's in the Box
DLP TV, multibrand NetCommand remote control (with 2 AA batteries), IR emitter cable

      Warranty

3 out of 5 stars Beware using standard definition sources.......2007-11-14

I bought this TV replacing my Toshiba 32" CRT to upgrade to more inputs and larger hi-def picture. My mistake? all of the sources that I currently view are in standard definition--standard cable, dvd's, laserdiscs, and these look adequate to terrible when viewed on this television. Regular cable channels are blurry and grainy as though there was a piece of Saran Wrap over the screen or being played back on a VCR in SLP mode. In all fairness I have yet to view an HD source (TV signal or HD/Blue Ray DVD), but if you're going to be using this TV for normal, non hi-def viewing, think again, very carefully before you drop serious money on this or any other HDTV. I can't return this TV; all online sales are final. I walked into this purchase with eyes open, if not the least bit unenlightened, and so I have no one but myself to blame. I can't seem to get decent reception for over the air HD signals so my best hope will be to upgrade to digital cable or satellite with HD channels. The television itself is okay. It's certainly a bright picture. I don't like that you can't name your inputs--you have to use the labels provided. Speaking of inputs I have a digital VCR with IEEE-1394 jacks. The TV has IEEE-1394 inputs but will only display HD signals from the digital VCR. That's a bit annoying. I was hoping to have an extra S-Video input available for use.

      5 out of 5 stars Everything I expected.......2007-06-22

Researched quite a bit before buying this unit. Initially had difficulty trying to set it up, as I could not seem to get past the channel setting (which doesn't work or need to work when you have a cable box). I'm still not quite sure how I got to the window which allowed me to select my cable input-I'm just glad it happened! I'm not the most tech savvy in the world, as my kids will testify. Picture is great! I was getting some wavy screen action, particularly when pop ups appeared on screen, but that evidently was the cable system- for the past 3 weeks it has been awesome. Bought it for less than 1500, it arrived about a week later in perfect condition...a great bargain and awesome TV!

1 out of 5 stars known product defect + impossible service.......2007-06-15

If you want to spend thou$ands for your next television - and have it rarely in operation, this is the TV for you!

It's a known issue with the unit constantly and without reason shutting itself down 'because the airflow is blocked.' This is a known defect on Mitsubishi's projection models. Just google 'Mitsubishi Television Air Flow'

Mitsubishi does everything in its power to make it impossible to reach them. There are efforts underway to start a class action lawsuit.

So once again, our $2,500 TV is in the shop. Don't make the same error.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing TV for the price!.......2007-05-26

I recently bought this TV from Costco and it is great. The picture is extremely vibrant compared with other rear projection TVs. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I would suggest shopping around to find the best deal.

5 out of 5 stars Great TV for great price.......2007-05-12

I love this TV! I did a lot of research into buying an HDTV. Regular TV doesn't look too bad, HD looks outstanding. I even have my PC connected to the DVI and can get full 1080P resolution...looks awesome! For the price, I think this is one of the best HDTV's on the market. I was worried about buying such such a device via the internet. There's something about seeing and touching the item in a store. But like I said, I did a lot of research in stores and online, and I felt I was making a good choice on the brand and model. And then I just looked for the best price...and it was online, not in a store. Shipping and delivery went great, no problems with the TV out of box. Great experience, and product!

3 out of 5 stars Good TV for the price, 250 dollar lamp burnt out quickly though.......2007-10-29

This TV was great, it came pretty quick, but just after the 1 year warranty expired the lamp burnt out. Otherwise, the TV was great for video games and being used as a secondary monitor sometimes. I did use it daily and frequently, since I work on the computer and play lots of games in my off time. However, I was under the impression that the lamp would last at least 6000 hrs but mine probably ran for about 1460 hrs (365 days*4 avg hrs/day). Even if I had it on for 8hrs a day for 365 days it'd be 2920hrs.

4 out of 5 stars Very good so far.......2005-12-06

Just got it and I am impressed. The TV looks great- especially when looking at DVDs. The remote is very easy to use and works everything in the room right out of the box. I can't wait to have 1080 imput to look at.

          1 out of 5 stars lemon of a tv.......2007-03-26

We bought this tv 2-2006 and as of 3-2007 it has been in the shop 3 times. the optical engine has been replaced twice as well as just about everything else in the set. now the hdmi module is gone. if it wasn't for the warranty the set would have cost us over 3,ooo dollars to fix. this is the last repair as the warranty will soon expire. we have had other mitsubishi sets without this problem. don't know what to get when this set goes which will probably be soon. aside from all the hardware issues the color sat on this tv is too intense.

2 out of 5 stars Great picture when it works.......2006-09-03

We bought this set as a family Christmas present in 2005. It was deliverded just in time for college football at New Years. From the get go it has been difficult to work with. First getting a HD cable box from cable company took two weeks. Second, the picture kept going in and out. After many visits by cable company and the company we purchased it from it was okay. After this the picture once again began jumping in and out - cable switched out box which seemed to help. Next at about five months the projector bulb went out. Thankfully the sales person had highly recommended their in-house extended warranty which paid for it. The only problem was it took over a week to get the bulb. The current situation is at least once per week the TV has to be rebooted (unplug for 5 minutes) to clear a channel changing issue (picture goes to all gobbledy gook). Now waiting on company we purchased from to contact Mitsubishi to get to root cause of problem - cable or TV? 10/5/06 update - now have had to replace optical engine (heart of set). This set is completely unreliable - would not wish it on my worst enemy. 9/5/07 update - now the card reader to display digital camera photos does not work.

          5 out of 5 stars Great Picture. A Top Tier 1080p TV.......2006-05-17

First, off, I have spent a long time researching as well as have returned several TVs for various reasons, and I finally settled on the Mitsubishi 52".

I chose this TV for several reasons. First, the 52 inch screen is large enough for what was looking to get out of a big screen TV, but it's compact enough to fit a 50 inch tv stand (49.6 inches width). We had an entertainment unit that has a base of 50 inches and were contstrained by the size. If size wasn't an issue I would have had a tough time choosing b/w the Sony 50 inch SXRD and the Toshiba 56 inch tv, but both those two would not have fit. Secondly the 628 model (compared to the 627) has more evenly distributed light so you won't get the darkening of picture as you move out from the middle of the screen. And lastly, compare this picture to any of the other brands, and it is either equal or surpases any of the other 1080p TVs. I was surprised to see the Samsung 50 inch got some very good reviews, but if you put that TV and the Mi
