Great sound, easy to wear, but unreliable.......2007-11-09
I have used the Jabra JX-10 for 3 years. I bought 3 in that time: the original, a replacement when I lost that one, and a third one for my wife. The sound quality is excellent. The JX-10 is extremely light, to the point that I often forgot that I was wearing it. It paired easily with my Blackberry and with various cell phones that my wife had. My main complaint was that the earband breaks VERY easily. Over the 3 year period, I broke at least a dozen. Until recently, I would have given this product a 4-star rating.
However, in October 2007, having just lost another one, I ordered a replacement. I could not get it to charge. I returned it, and the second replacement would not charge. I tried several chargers at several different locations over a 10-day period, to no avail. (I even verified the chargers by charging my wife's JX-10.) I returned it for yet another one, and that third one had the same problem. Jabra customer service claims that they have had no reported problems, but recommended upgrading to the more expensive JX-10 II. I have not done so. I regret not having the JX-10, but I cannot justify trying a fourth replacement.
Horrible Experience.......2007-10-29
When I recieved the item it was bad out of box. I called and it was some sort of four day company holliday so I left a message and e-mailed for an RMA with no results. After waiting over a week I called back and was given an RMA number and asked for a new unit to be sent. I was told that I needed to send back the bad unit (at my expense) and then they would send a new unit. Never recieved a new unit as promised but did get a credit. I think I'll buy from a different company next time.
A piece of junk.......2007-09-14
I purchased this to replace an old Jabra that I used and liked. This model though broke within a day of when I purchased it. The ear piece just broke in two (which seems to be common, it broke as I picked it up). They offered replacements for free on their website, so two weeks later when they arrived, I put the replacement ear piece on, and then was disappointed with the range of the JX-10. If you have the JX-10 more then 12 - 15 inches from the phone, your call starts breaking up. I wear my phone on my belt, and in every call I receive static. Save your money and purchase a better headset.

Well I never got to use it; both times. it cost me about 30 bucks for returns twice. I didn't get to use it at all. I was disappointed on product. I would next time just buy it from store rather then from online.
Jabra does not have a repair service........2007-08-28
Guess what? If you buy this product, you have one year to use it. Then when it breaks, throw it out! That's the official word from Jabra. Let me quote:
Thank you for contacting Product Support.
Jabra does not have a repair service. The only remedy we have for non functioning headsets is replacement, if the headset is within the one year warranty. We do require a copy of the receipt to be sent back with the product.

Thus, when my headset stopped working and would no longer take a charge 16 months after purchase, my options were to (a) throw it out, or (b) throw it out.

great headset for the treo 700p.......2007-12-11
I bought this item for the treo 700p and it works wonderfully. The battery life is excellent, I can use it for > 10 ft. away from my phone, it's easy to operate, it doesn't hurt your ears like other headsets, and it looks stylish.
The one advice I have for people who buy bluetooth headsets, don't automatically go for the cheaper headset...you get what you pay for. I bought the Explorer 320 from plantronics (much cheaper headset) and it would give a crackling noise if i placed my phone on the opposite side of the heaset or if i buttoned my jacket! I also checked and the palm website said that the headset was compatible for the treo 700p.
I personally think that the reception and battery life on the headset are the two most important things over style and price. What good is a bluetooth headset that works only in the line of site & only 3-4 ft from a phone? you can get an excellent wired headset that does the same thing for $20 cheaper!

Flimsy.......2007-09-20
The headset works OK and linked up with my Nokia phone with no problem. My major complaint is the design of the hook earpiece regarding how it is attached to the main unit. While designed to "flip" so it can work for either ear, the method of attachment is extremely flimsy and mine broke after a few switches from right to left ear and back again.
The hook earpiece snaps into place on the main unit. At either end of the crescent-shaped plastic part that snaps onto the main unit, there are two very small plastic flanges that are supposed to snap into the corresponding back of the main unit. One of these plastic flanges broke off, so that the earpiece now has no way to securely snap into the main unit.
I haven't tried to obtain a new earpiece, but if it's the same design I'm not interested in sticking with the Jabra. I ordered an nXZEN nX6000 which looks a lot heftier.
Jabra X10-very good and very bad.......2007-07-20
I loved this headset, small, light, great sound quality, charge lasted forever.....what more could I want ..........UNTIL my second earwire (device comes with 2) bent out of shape from putting on and taking off your ear. I found no way to replace them...then after 14 months the battery failed....it's not replacable either. If you can buy a full coverage warranty for 2 years in case it also happens to you, it's a great headset.

Black unit should come with matching black charging stand. Also, it should come with a snap pouch, not a drawstring bag. If you got anything else, you got a fake and the quality will be affected. The fakes looks pretty close and you will be fooled. You have been warned. Good luck.

This headset is very nice - lightweight, easy to wear, long battery life. Supposedly it is multipoint as well, however I'm yet to test this. Mine (black one) was imported from UK for the US market and as such did not come with a dedicated power supply. The plug is for the UK marked with an adaptor. Looks ugly but I use it at home only harging it off the USB on the road.
One thing to consider is getting a spare ear loop. Mine has broken in less than a month of use. Also the docking and undocking it from the desktop charger requires some brute force. Every time I charge it this way I wonder whether I'm about to break something. No accidents so far but the design could be improved.

While Jabra makes a Black JX-10, they are *not* for sale in US and are not supported by *any* OEM warranties. Jabra is besieged by fakes flooding the market. These fakes are very convincing, but there are ways to tell the difference if you know how. If you purchase the unit above, whether fake or non-USA, you're entirely on your own.

Doesn't work well.......2007-07-18
The "real" Jabra JX-10 is an awesome headset. I know because I've owned one for about a year and a half. It's lightweight, understated and never has any problems beyond the ear clip periodically breaking (Jabra will replace free for life). The one I purchased here was a knockoff and didn't work well at all, lots of static (sent me the white not the black) so you can hardly hear the conversation. My advice is to purchase an authentic one or don't purchase as it's true that you get what you pay for.
