Good Buy.......2007-07-28
At first I was going to write that this product is a good buy for the price. However, I bought an expensive Plantonic headset hoping that I would get better range and sound quality. I found out that unless you are willing to put out mega bucks, they all work about the same. In that respect, this is a great product for the price.
Customer Reviews:
Very disappointed.......2007-05-31
As a traveling sales Manager I have had many wireless headsets and this one ranks as one of the WORST. Especially for IOGEAR, I have had other Iogear products and have always thought of them as being quality. Personally the design was poor and the person on the other side could not hear anything I said. I tried it for over a week by the end of the week the power button stopped working also. I am definitely disappointed in the headset and more so with Iogear. Remember this is just my opinion, I bought the headset from good reviews I read and maybe it was just the one I received that was so poor, you be the judge..
Not so great... .......2007-05-19
This headset currently sits in my ashtray in my car. It is hard to hear on and keeps disconnecting from my phone. I had people complain that they could not understand what I am saying as well...
Works great with Motorola RAZR Phone.......2006-10-31
With all of these negative reviews I was beginning to wonder about this bluetooth headset. But because I had a reasonable experience with other IOGEAR products and because this unit was Cheap, Cheap, Cheap I decided to go ahead and purchase anyway. I was able to quickly pair this headset with my Razr after which the performance has been flawless. The voice quality is definitely acceptible. So if you are a Razr owner and are looking for a headset for use with the Razr, this one will do the job.
Stay Away from Product and Tech Support .......2006-08-13
I seldom write negative reviews on products.
After the first phone call to Iogear Tech Support I began to realize something was wrong.
I have become used to a standard of Tech support that Indian call centers provice.
U.S. based Iogear support was beyond lacking.
First phone call they blamed the non -Iogear bluetooth adapter.
I told the tech person the items were paired and the wireless headset was chirping. He blamed the non-Iogear bluetooth adapter.
With the Iogear bluetooth adapter and multiple computers with fresh windows installs it was the same story.
5 or six phone calls to tech support. When I asked for a supervisor ( Indian call centers will foreward you rapidly to a supervisor who will either solve the problem or announce that unfortunately you are out of the warranty period) I was told it was 1 15 minute wait for a supervisor.
Not that these fellows were impolite. Just underpaid and underappreciated ( tech support). One was even helpfull.
I called sales and spoke to a senior person named Abder. He promised a return call that never came.
In the end by rereading and rereading the manual ( printed on a booklet 2 inches by 3 inches in size ) there is one reference in the middle of a small paragraph on laptop setup that after pairing you have to press the multi-function button once more to let it take over the audio.
I told each tech support person that it was paired and that i was hearing a "chirping sound:. What could be clearer.
This should of been the first item after checking for a properly charged battery that should of been asked.
When the item finally came up working I found that even though I have a non 2.4 ghz cordless phone I could hear my neighbours phone calls interferring with my test call.
Testing the setup once more several weeks later the sound quality is very poor. Perhaps it could be interference with a Linksys G ( 2.4 ghz) Wireless router ( which is the same frequency as the bluetooth system).
Hopefully this review will steer more than one person / potential customer away from this product.
I can not judge other Iogear products such as their KVM switches but if the level of product and tech support that I received is any indication I would not recommend it .

Same problem as a4andrew but got fixed.......2006-08-12
I have a same problem as a4andrew at the first. I am using Iogear bluetooth dongle first I can not connect to my PC. After I called Iogear Tech Support, it took me about 5 minutes to get everything working. Now I can use this headset for my VOIP. I very enjoy this headset.

Customer Reviews:
What were they thinking?.......2007-07-21
I got this version from I O Gear as the version that I lost was so terrific. The headset for this model is useless, if you have ears. The earpiece is unusable - whoever designed it and approved its use should be required to wear it an entire day, they would find that it is not possible. Beyond its practical use because of the poor over-the-ear comfort, the headset, when held up to my ear seemed to have decent sound quality - the fact that no one could hear me was more than a little disappointing. Apparently the microphone on my particular headset doesn't work. Since I just received this and discovered that I could not wear the ear piece or could anyone hear me, I am planning to return it. Save yourself the hassle. It is a shame that I O Gear chose to change the design, the previous model was so comfortable, that I did not even know I was wearing the earpiece.
Horrible headset.......2007-07-19
This bluetooth headset is absolutely horrible. I do not recommend it to anyone. My phone works wonderfully well with the Plantronics 510, a highly reviewed/regarded headset and let me tell you it is a dream compared with this garbage. I actually like talking on the phone again. Here are my reasons:
My phone: Motorola L2
This headset:
Does not hold its charge long
Does not sound so good
crackles and pops like a radio station that is 10 miles away EVEN when it is in my POCKET!
it disconnects every 10 seconds when your not talking to someone
it frequently doesn't connect when I tell it to
it is worth the extra 20 bucks to pick up a nice one like I recommended. It makes ALL the difference.
By the way, I trouble shot these issues with their tech support and they said it was prolly my phone or a defective model possibly. But they did not admit to ever hearing of these problems before. Funny when all the reviewers seem to say the same thing about this product. Someone should slap iogear with a class action lawsuit for this piece of junk.
WORTH THE PRICE.......2007-01-06
The headset seems to have a lot of static sounds in the backround issues.
Don't conform to ear or around ear very easily or securely. Always feels as if it is going to fall off your ear.
Reason being the price was very inexpensive. If you can deal with the above issues and not be bothered by them then this item is for you.
A disappointment.......2006-12-16
I had an old headset made by Anycom but the somewhat bulky earpiece made it very uncomfortable for wearing it for a long time. After I saw this IOGear it looks more attractive so I bought it.
The more I use it, the more I dislike it. The ear hook is too flimsy that it is not holding it in place. Whenever I move my head, the whole earpiece moves away from my face. It did not fall down completely from my ear, just hanging there with the piece pointing 45 degrees from my face!
More importantly, it frequently connects/disconnects while in standby mode, sometimes several times a minute. This is very annoying because your ear is filled with the ding-dong's (it chimes when it connects or disconnects) all the time. Sometimes when you want to take a phone call you'd find out that your headset is not connected!
I've returned it once and got a replacement, but the replacement has the same problem. I hope I can get my money back.
disappointed for this new version.......2006-11-26
Summary: Disappointed~ the quality of the old version of IOgear headset is so much better.
i bought this headset 2 weeks ago, i've been using it for a week now. all i can say is that.. im very disappointed with this one.. i used to use the older version of iogear headset which was not as good lookin as this one. i loved the functions of the headset and i had no problem with it at all(loved the earpiece, distance were great i could walk more than 30ft away from it, easy to use, clear sound) until i accidently broke it(my fault). so as i searched for another headset, i've found this new version of iogear, i really liked the way it looks and i thought it'd perform the same quality,if not better, of my old one. so i bought it.. once i received it, i charged it for 12 hours for the first use like others. after i started to try it i realized that im havin the same problem as the first review said.. that after pairing, during the stand-by mode it keeps on connectin and disconnecting by itself. it really get annoying, i agreed with that guy. i guess i should just list the stuffs:
bads:
-----
-disconnect by itself frequently while on standby
-always turn on by itself while its in your pocket because the on/off button is soo loose, its annoyin
-"supposingly" you should press volume buttons for redialing. but it turned out i have to hold on/off button for 3 secs for it to redial, so i guess they programmed my headset wrong.
-earpiece is the worse part for me.. its totally different than the one from older version.i loved the other one..but this new version.. feels like it'd come off anytime.....
im really dissatisfy with this product... but i don't want to return it and lose my shippin cost....... i guess i'll suck it in

Customer Reviews:
OK for voice and fruit-flavored aliens, terrible for music........2007-01-04
Wireless headphones are cool conceptually, but this pair leaves much to be desired.
When comparing these headphones to other bluetooth sets, this pair probably stacks up pretty well. With volume and track control right at your fingertips one can, in theory, roam about with no need to touch the audio source. The speakers themselves seem to have good bass response and the detachable mic and carrying pouch are a nice touch.
However, when compared to a cheap $12 pair of wired icetech headphones the sound quality on the IOGEAR WIRELESS BLUETOOTH headphones is terrible. Highs are removed, mids are muted and though the bass tries to peak in every now and again it is generally absent. Though a phone conversation would probably sound just right, high bit-rate MP3s sound more like poor quality FM radio on this device.
On top of these shortcomings, the physical shape of these headphones is... Odd. It looks like these were made for some strange creature with a pair-shaped head, and feel about the same. When wearing the headphones (during the brief interval I did) the bone just behind my ears would either be most uncomfortably pinched by the band, or ride so low in the back I could not comfortably look heavenward. I can only theorize that these were designed by aliens from Jupiter's moon "Io" in an attempt to prevent our populous from seeing their ships fly in during invasion.
Finally, though I purchased a supposedly compatible bluetooth adapter from the same company, the previouse/next track buttons DO NOT control any MP3 computer software I could find. What good is a pair of wireless headphones if you have to walk back to your computer to skip a track?
If you are getting these headphones for VOIP use, a cell phone, online gaming, or to remind you not to look at the sun during a solar eclipse then they might be for you. If your head is pear shaped and you are almost deaf then they might also be what you are looking for. For listening to music from your computer while you roam around you would be better off buying an MP3 player and wired headphones.
Unable to pair with Treo 650 and Iogear doesn't know how to help!.......2006-10-26
I just got these in today and they look like a nice unit. I followed the simple Bluetooth pairing instructions but wasn't able to get them to sync up. My Treo saw them, I was able to enter the pass key, and my Treo said they were paired but the headphones never stopped "detecting". I contacted Iogear support via their online "Live Chat" but beyond a reboot type of recommendation, they couldn't offer any more help beyond that and said that I could replace them.
That's disappointing, I'd really like to listen to music over on these at the gym.
Awesome bluetooth sound quality, but very very poorly designed.......2006-09-15
I received these headphones as a present, two weeks after getting them, while the bluetooth works great (however you cannot use the mic with a computer) but the headphones broke. The band between the two speakers is tiny and breaks very easily. I was able to return them and get a new pair. Then two weeks later, they broke in the same exact location. So here, i am with two bluetooth speakers connected by a wire, and wondering, "Can i put them into other headphones?" These are very very very poorly designed.
-a little bitter.
I was wrong........2006-02-08
I've been searching and seaching for a Mic for my computer. I have a Mac Mini which is limited on USB ports so i decided to get a bluetooth mic. I search all of my deal websites and all that i com upon that looked nice was this, it said that it was computer compatible, said that it is compatible with macs, and it was stereo. I was going to Mainly use it wil Skype to talk to my friends while i game. It comes in the mail and im stoked. I open it, follow the instructions, set it up with my Mac, pair it, Connect it, typ in the 4 digit password and it says "Congratulations, Your Headset is connected!" Then i open skype and get a message: "Bluetooth Audio Failed. There was an error connecting to your headset. Make sure it is turned on and in range. The audio portion of the program you were using may have to be restarted." So i call Their Technical support, I get to a technician and she says, im not qualified with this item, let me put you through to a design specialist. Im on hold for 15 minutes( I watched the clock) and she comes back on, "I'm Sorry, they're all busy right now, please wait 5 more minutes" blah blah blah, 10 minutes go by and she comes back on, I talked to a specialis and he said that this model is not compatible with computers, only the audio is compatible with computers,
the mic portion is only compatible with cell phones"
So let that be a warning, If your to use it with a comp, according to the technicians at IOGear, it wont work, Even thught it was that you can connect to a computer on the box. Im returning it now.
Stereo quality OK, but mechanical design is a problem.......2005-12-08
I just bought and returned a pair of these headphones. The stereo quality was good, but the mechanical design was poor. Maybe it was just the shape of my skull, but the neck-phone plastic pinched into my skull behind my ears, which made it unwearable.
Another point - the audio headset associated with this is usable only for telephony applications and does not deliver high-quality recorded sound (i.e. it sounds like the sound was sent over a telephone!). I didn't test it with a phone, but only for recorded voice, and the quality was much poorer than a very cheap stand-alone microphone I have.
