Excellent Buy.......2007-12-25
I got this delivered just in time for Christmas and couldn't be happier. This set is outstanding. The picture is incredible on hd channels and with the Sony upconverting dvd player most of my regular dvds look amazing. The older ones are a bit grainy. The the day after the tv arrived some friends came over and gave me some invaluable help adjusting my soundsystem. We watched the new Transformers dvd and it really felt no different than being in a movie theater. Then last night I was watching a show about polar bears on the hd national geographic channel and one of my dogs, Eli, was staring at the polar bears. He got upset and actually started barking at the polar bears. He's a very picky dog so this set must be that good. It's been Eli-approved.

THIS LCD hdtv is very nice, once you adjust the picture to your liking it looks very very good, and playing games on this tv is a plus. almost everthing is good about this HDTV. The one thing i don't like is the fact that there is gosting, i hope samsung shoot an update to fix the problem.

bought this because consumer reports said it was great. was deciding between this one and the sharp. Set arrived and pixels are out in an area the size of my thumb right in the center of the screen... now i have to wait weeks for repair people to get me new lcd screen. amazon said no return and to let samsung repair it. so i am stuck with a tv that does not work properly and will have replacement parts -- if a wanted a refurbished set, i would have purchased one for less then a new one!!!! dont buy samsung and i will avoid amazon in the future. many big box store in your area will make price...

If you have a large enough room for a 52'' this is the TV to buy. The quality is amazing and with 3 HDMI outputs you can connect your ps3, pc and HD TV without much effort.
If you want to understand the difference between non-HD and HD just watch a NFL Football game in HD.... just for that buying a TV with 15000:1 ratio is worth it. It is very light, i lifted the TV by myself, and most of the weight came from the stand itself. I have yet to find a complaint about the TV.
If you are not a techie you may have some trouble setting up the correct settings but i believe people will love the default settings as well.
If you do not have HD box with an HDMI Cable or some system with 720p+ req's you would be wasting your money. So before you plan to buy this TV make sure you have your HDMI Cable(s) and some type of system (HD cable box, ps3, etc...) that is 720p+.
If you are looking for an extreme high-end TV then this may not be your type, but for this money and size it is an excellent buy!

The experience on ordering this TV was excellent! The free shipping was perfect (better than any experience I've had with retail stores). The guys called me and allowed me to meet them at my convenience. They brought the TV inside my home, helped me unpack it, and allowed me to hook things up and try it out before signing off on it! It was truly a white glove delivery experience.
Television review:
PROS: Television is crisp; blacks are dark, especially considering this is an LCD; image is bright enough for rooms with a lot of ambient light; superb ability to pick up digital ATSC stations (even in weak areas); HDTV content is beautiful on this TV; three HDMI 1.3 inputs; a lot of the issues over the past year have been fixed...this is now a solid TV.
CONS: Glare could be a potential problem for those with a lot of light directly in front of the television (this does have a glossy screen)...I don't have a problem, but I could see where it could be an issue. My recommendation is to tilt the television forward to reduce "head-on" glare; most standard-def programming through 480i inputs (S-video or composite) looks bad; sometimes I notice "smearing" during fast moving content, but I'm thinking it may be the broadcaster as I only see it on certain channels. I can't verify this without something to compare against.

You want to install your brand new flat screen at the wall and already spent a lot of money on the TV itself so you need something that works and has a good price? GET THIS ONE because it is strong and easy to mount. If I mounted mine and it hasn't fallen in 1 month it means it's good. Of course I am smart: read the instructions and used a stud finder.
