Beware 3rd Party Cables & Sony Ericsson Tech Support.......2006-06-04
I was given a data cable for my Sony Ericsson z500a as a gift (turned out to be a 3rd party cable like this product is). At first, I was happy that I'd be able to transfer pictures taken with my camera phone to my computer to email to friends back home...but after installing everything, the thing only worked a few times at a nerve-rackingly slow pace. After tons of headaches messing with that, I contacted Sony's tech support. They don't seem to know how to figure out problems very well, and about all they could do on that call was get my info to send out a new cable. The new cable (Sony Ericsson cable) doesn't seem to work either, and I've called them several times now--each time speaking with 2-3 reps.
So, my advice would be to not bother with the data cable (third party or Sony's) since neither will work properly. If you have a third party cable such as this product, don't tell Sony tech support because then they won't help you, so you're basically just out the money you spent on a cheap unofficial cable. Just enjoy your Sony Ericsson z500a & watch anyone who has a camera phone that has a working data cable for ideas for your next phone.

Pretty good phone, but if I had a choice in choosing I wouldn't pick it. Only because it's kind of small, elegant true, but the buttons are kind of hard to press and "squeaky" the joystick is alright but I prefer my Nokia N70, it's easy to use and has a large screen, also it's fun because it has features, I can make mini videos and the camera is excellent, There are better sony erricsson phones out there!

This phone is useless outside of a quiet room. Don't bother calling anywhere from a sidewalk -- especially if the wind's blowing. I can't tell you how many people have said, "it sounds like you're calling from behind an airplane," or "where are you? at a concert?". Oh, yeah, and the camera's weak, too.

Lousy Battery Life.......2005-06-18
I bought this headset in India for nearly 300$ and it hardly lasted 2 months. It did work wonderfully well during that period. But one day it just quit. Even after 3 hours of charging, it'd hardly last 2 minutes. I took it back to the store and they offered to check it for me. After being serviced, it got better but only for a few days. I did not have time or patience to give in for servicing again.
A good headset overall but only if you're willing to buy a new one, two months later.

Does not establish solid connection to phone. After about 4 months, battery life was so poor that I ended up calling tech support. Was never able to get issues resolved and the device is now worthless.

I have purchased the last three SonyEricsson Headsets. I tend to lose them. The HBH-60 isn't useful for anyone who uses their phone at any length. To be on a thirty minute conference call with this headset is dangerous. An hour long call is impossible.

I have been using the headset for about 2 weeks. I found very little problems. The battery life could be longer but I chage mine every night and have had no problems. Sound is good for me and I also found that having it on for a long time is not comfortable.
I love the fact that there is no wire! There have been so many times where I am in my car and I hit the stupid wire. Anything that reduces the number of wires that I have to untangle is a MAJOR PLUS.

3 years of impeccable service.......2007-09-11
After 3 years of outstanding service, I'm sorry to have to let my phone go. It needs a new battery, so it's more cost efficient to buy a new phone instead of a new battery since the joystick is starting to not respond when pressed to the down position.
Overall this phone is beautiful, durable, and easy to use. The 2 main draw backs are that it doesn't have speakerphone and it is impossible to see the screen in sunlight. I'm on to a beautiful blue motorizr z3. Farewell my faithful SE T610!

The phone is slow, and the keybooard is too responsive. Sometimes I press one number and it is dialed twice. When I answer calls usually they are put on hold. I wont buy any other sony ericsson product ever. At least mobile phones. Also, sometimes the home charger does not charge my mobile. It is really bad.

This was my second Sony-Ericsson phone (the first was a T68i), and the fatal flaw in both phones was poor joystick design. In both cases, after about a year and a half of light to normal use, the joystick started to work erratically. Movement either did not register, or registered as 'Enter' rather than movement. Since you cannot do anything on this phone without using the joystick, it becomes difficult to perform basic actions, such as locating and calling a contact. It also means that I frequently make and have to quickly cancel multiple accidental calls due to unintended input before I make it to the intended number in the contact list. I will never again purchase a cell phone that has a joystick.
Other than this one (very major) problem, this phone has served me well. Bluetooth synchronization is handled flawlessly by iSync on my Mac (at least for contact information; I never tried the calendar), and I was also able to used the phone as a modem, connecting my Powerbook to the internet wherever I had cell service. The form factor is just about perfect; the phone is unobtrusive in a pocket, and it is easy to hold. The side volume buttons are a great touch. I give it three stars because it was exactly what I wanted and worked well until the joystick started malfunctioning.

I've had the T610 for 2 yrs now (T-Mobile).
Pros: The phone is compact well built and has served me well for 2+ yrs. Battery life is decent. By and large, I like the user interface as well. Bluetooth has been reliable.
Cons: Signal reception is weak although to be fair one can't entirely fault the handset. Volume level for rings and voice is low as well. Since the past 8 months, the joystick has started flaking out; it responds only to upward movement!

i think that this is a pretty nice phone its lasted for a long time and has been dropped many times with very little damage. the best part about this phone is that it is simple and easy to understand. plus it has the coolest jumpnrun game on it ever! ok yea so the game deepabyss probably made this phone better since all the other games on it are kinda dumb..
the worst part about this phone is that the joystick starts to get kinda sticky after a while.. but keep in mind that i have owned this phone for a long time

I love the look and style of this phone, but by far it has the WORST reception I've ever heard. I am CONSTANTLY dropping calls, and there can be very bad interference/static on my calls. I thought this was just a fluke, complained to AT&T (when it still was) and they sent me a new phone. Still having all the same problems!! The camera is probably below average aswell. Though this is an older phone and I don't expect people to be buying it, I warn you, don't!!

Ok...this phone is great! I recently upgraded it from a moto v180(screen went blank...would barley start up!...friends went through 3 of them!) and i must say...it overall is a very good phone.It has the typical camera that you would find for any phone on the market today.
Reason for 4 stars...they have M Mode shortcuts for the internet EVERYWHERE!!!

This is a good all around phone, but each feature has something lacking. As a phone, I agree with others that it takes forever to connect each call. The ringer is very strange - it seems to only start ringing after one or two rings.
I think the sound quality is fine, although you have to be careful not to block the mic while holding the phone.
The camera is terrible, but serves it purpose. Good for sending a photo of something funny to a friend, but not something you will want to save the pictures from.
Bluetooth is tough to use. This is my first bluetooth device, so I'm not sure if this is true of all bluetooth devices. The pairing procedure is a real pain and syncing with my desktop takes forever and results in some strange anomolies in my calendar.
The email is also v e r y s l o w, but is good enough to get the job done. No ability to forward messages or deal with attachments.
The web browser is very basic and will only let you see mobile formatted websites.
The big selling point for me is size. This phone sits in my pants pocket all day and I hardly notice it is there. I also usually leave it on vibrate only, so the ringer issues dont bother me.
Battery life seems very strong for me. I charge it every night, but use it throughout the day with very little impact on the battery meter.

I know it sounds like I am exaggerating, but I honestly think this phone is the worst purchase I have ever made in my adult life. From day one I had problems with reception, with the volume and with a constant "SIM Card Dislodged" error message. It only got worse over time. The display is essentially impossible to read in sunlight or even interior light brighter than a 60-watt bulb. The photos are awful. I've had the phone barely a year and it has essentially stopped working now. It'll be a cold day in hell before I give Sony Ericcson any more of my money.
