Does not work in V360!.......2007-09-14
I ordered this item, and what showed up is a Motorola BR50 battery, which isn't even the right size for the V360, and doesn't even have contacts that line up in the right place. What the V360 actually needs is a BT50 battery, it turns out. Don't believe this description! Not a V360 battery!

Motorola drivers and the USB data cable.......2007-12-20
I bought this item because I have a MOTORAZR V3m. I was frustrated by the fact that I can only do 15 seconds of video so I wanted to try to modify the .ini files in the phone. This disk and cable helped make it really easy. The disk has the drivers and the cable connects your phone to a USB port. From there all you need is something like Bitpim to upload modified .ini files. All I had to do was modify one string from 15 to 240 and now I can do 4 minutes of video instead of 15 seconds.
And on top of all this the vendor put it all into a cool little velvet sack. Very nice. If you have a clue what I'm talking about then this should be a helpful review.

It works! A miracle! It's cheaply made!.......2007-04-18
I own a KRZR. I needed a car-charger for it. This one seemed cool because of it's retractable cord. It IS cool! Has a bright blue light so you know it's on, and the retractable cord is key - I don't need wires sticking out of anywhere from within my car! Works great. I assume this mini-usb charger works for many other things, but all I care about is charging my phone when I use the GPS function, which is a battery-killer.
*UPDATE: After only a few dozen uses, this piece of crap BROKE. The mini-usb plug in part literally fell apart. The plastic isn't well-put-together and after only a few snaps of the retractable cord, it broke into several pieces. This thing is legit garbage.
Amazon.com Product Description
The wildly popular V330 is a tough act to follow, but the latest kid on the block, the V360, is a worthy successor, packed with features that make it the perfect complement to T-Mobile service. The V360 is smaller and lighter than the V330, plus it features a memory card slot for storing and playing music via an included music player application. You'll also get an internal antenna on this model, as well as a larger external screen-- two nice touches. Like the V330, this model also has Bluetooth, tri-band GSM compatibility, high-speed EDGE data, and a VGA camera with video capture.
Take a closer look at the V360's functions. You can also see it in action. |
Design
The V360 features a sleek clamshell design with a large, high-resolution 176 x 220 pixel, 262,000-color screen. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 monochrome display that can display time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. Up and down buttons for volume control are placed on the left side. Most of the phone's features and onscreen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad. A USB-capable data port is housed on the unit's right side, and there's a standard jack to accept universal hands-free headsets (as well as a stereo headset for music listening). A microSD/TransFlash memory card slot is provided for data and music storage.
Calling Features
The V360 supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. You can also assign pictures and ringers to your most common callers. A number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone, and more ringtones can be downloaded from T-Mobile's t-zones service. There's even an included application, MotoMixer, that enables you to mix your own ringtones.
Speed dialing, which allows you to call preprogrammed numbers with one button, is built in, as is a vibrating alert. A speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Meanwhile, voice-activated dialing makes calling your friends, family, and associates as easy as saying their names. The V360's phone book can hold up to 1,000 contacts; if you have that many friends and colleagues, more power to ya! Lastly, the phone's Bluetooth connectivity means that your favorite Bluetooth headset is fully compatible.
Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The V360 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging and Internet connectivity. The phone features support for instant messaging (T-Mobile messaging charges apply), and there's also a built-in Web browser for t-zones downloads and mobile Web browsing. T-Mobile's t-zones service lets you receive and send emails, read news headlines, get weather updates, download games and ringtones, and more. And with support for EDGE data speeds, the V360 makes the mobile Internet experience fast and enjoyable.
The V360 comes with a built-in e-mail client (with support for POP3, SMTP and IMAP4 e-mail standards) and traditional text messaging, and video, picture, and sound messaging are also supported. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile e-mail and text messaging users.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the V360, including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. You can also use the phone's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth accessory or to connect to a computer or hand-held device to exchange and synchronize data. The phone supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard, which can be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar, and other data with your PC.
Imaging and Entertainment
With 5 MB of internal memory storage and a memory expansion slot, the V360 shines in the entertainment department. The phone's VGA (640 x 480) camera features a 4x digital zoom, image quality options, and an auto-timer so you can be in your pictures, too. Capture stills and then send them to your friends via MMS messaging or e-mail or to your PC via USB or Bluetooth. The V360 adds video capability, too, meaning you can capture short video clips and, just like photos, share them how you see fit. The phone also supports custom graphics for wallpapers so you can dress up the phone to suit your fancy.
The big news with the V360, though, is the built-in MP3 music player, which can queue up your favorite tracks from a memory card. Jam out to your tunes while you're on the go. And if you're into mobile gaming, the V360 has you covered. The phone ships with several games, and more are available via the t-zones service.
Vital Statistics
The Motorola V360 weighs 3.9 ounces and measures 3.5 by 1.85 by .94 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 7.5 hours of digital talk time and up to 240 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS frequencies. The phone comes with a one-year limited warranty.
What's in the Box
V360 handset, lithium-ion battery, travel charger, user's manual, software CD, and stereo headset.

Solid for about a year.......2007-09-14
Both my ballfriend and I have this phone, and it worked quite well (good reception, volume levels, camera) for the first year. But after 1 & 1.5 years, our phones both began to have the following problems:
- No longer rings out loud when receiving a call
- Can no longer enter phone book to view specific numbers
- Shortcut keys used to dial phone numbers no longer work
So I guess I would recommend this phone if you only need a phone for about a year or if you change phones often.
One year with V360.......2007-02-26
Dear all
I have been using this piece for the last one year and its quite a decent one.It has got all the basic stuff so wonderfully packed.
An ample speaker phone and wonderful cam can come handy at times.
MP3 player is so gud...but had to purchase an addition mem card.
I recently had a problem with handset regarding the voice and this is immediately replaced by T mobile..which makes it trust at ruining times..
Thanks for tmobile and amazon...
Hope this helps
Very impressed, very customizable, feature packed.......2006-12-29
I have owned this phone for 4 days now, I have run it through its paces, I am moving from a Nokia 6800 which has the qwrty keypad. I was unsure how I would like a motorola text feature, but it is actually not bad to use, the pretictive text helps speed you through, also the canned messages that you can insert are easy to access. What I notice about the menu structure, is everything pertaining to your options in a given feature is easy to access. The phone reception seems good. I was a little disappointed in the bluetooth sync with apple isync, doesnt carry over address information at this time, or calendar from what I can see. But the calendar is very easy to add appointments, straight forward to set up alarms, will alarm you even if phone is off. You can add pictures and mp3 via bluetooth and make them available for ring tones or alert sounds, very customizable in this aspect, you can set up individual callers with there own ring tone. One thing it appears is a down fall, is the external memory card you can use for videos, mp3, and pictures, but these cannot be used as your ringtones, etc. so you are limited to internal memory for the fun features of the phone. So I dont think I really did need the 512 MB card I bought for it since Im not using the camera for more then setting up a few photos for the photo ID. The manual I think is a bit complicated. I would found it easier to play with the phone and learned it quickly over trying to learn how to set up and customize a Sony T610, poor phone that sony made. I will probably stay with Motorola in the future if they keep this interface and only improve on syncing.. etc..
Excellent phone.......2006-12-21
If you want a cell phone that is well made, looks good, feels good to use and is a really good phone as opposed to a phone and a bunch of other things the V360 is an excellent choice. It has enough features to keep things interesting but is easy to use and above all is a really good phone that does not sacrifice call quality or battery life to a bunch of useless features that I don't want. it also looks and feels good and is thus a pleasure to use.
Very disappointing.......2006-12-20
Prior to buying this phone I had heard a lot of people say that Motorola's hardware was very good, but that their software left a lot to be desired. Nonetheless I decided to try this phone out when it came time to start a new cell plan. I had made the decision to switch to T-mobile and this looked like one of the best phone options. Right off the bat I found out that the people who criticized Moto's software were right on the money. There are a host of poorly designed software aspects of this phone, not the least of which is the -- frankly -- idiotic way the phone book is designed. Eventually I made peace with all of the things I disliked about the V360 since at least it seemed to work well enough as a phone.
As time went by I started noticing that I was missing a lot of calls. The phone would be in my bag or in my pocket or sitting on my desk when suddenly it would ring with the voicemail notification from a message that I had received anywhere from minutes to hours before. During the course of the last few months (the phone is less than a year old) I've also found that it has begun crashing. A lot. Opening or closing it will result in a "white screen of death." Putting it on the charger will cause it to switch back and forth between the messages that it is charging, that it is unable to charge and that it's SIM card cannot be found, after a few minutes of which it will simply shut itself off. With a full battery charge it will continually shut itself off.
At this point I am forced to conclude that this phone is an absolute piece of junk. I am also forced to conclude that it isn't the only model which is. None of my coworkers has ever had a good experience with a Motorola phone. My wife's Motorola has shown its own host of problems. People working for T-mobile at several stores I have visited have confided that they never, ever recommend Motorola phones to anyone. In fact I've had T-mobile employees urge me to not buy any phones from them, but rather to shop for an unlocked Nokia online. So that's what I'm going to do.
Until I can buy a new phone all I can do is recharge this phone every night, restart it five or six times a day, and keep apologizing to my friends, family and employers for always missing their calls.
