An updated version of the venerable V325, the V325i includes an important piece of modern wireless technology; Bluetooth capability. Other features include speaker-independent voice recognition, which allows you to dial a number by speaking the name of a contact, or by speaking the digits of a phone number. Design
The phone features a traditional clamshell design with a large LCD display that supports over 65,000 colors. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's blue backlit control pad. The V325i's stylish design includes a unique light-up outer bezel, and a comfortable rubberized case that not only contributes to its sexy look but helps ensure you always maintain a solid grip on your phone. The unit houses a stub-extendable antenna, a built-in mini-USB port, and a standard jack to accept universal hands-free headsets.
Calling Features
Robust calling features are at the heart of the V325i. Speaker-independent voice dialing allows you to make calls without ever touching the device. The V325i's built-in address book can store up to 500 contacts, with up to six numbers per name, for quick and easy management of phone numbers and email addresses. You can check your e-mail, trade stocks online, compare prices while shopping, access flight information, get movie listings, and find directions to the theater.
Verizon's Get It Now wireless download service is also fully compatible with the V325i. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. The V325i ships with a calendar and a voice memo application, as well as an alarm clock and a calculator.
Imaging and Entertainment
The V325i includes a powerful digital camera with a 640 x 480 VGA resolution that features a 4x digital zoom, as well as a self timer so you can even be in your own best pictures. NOT a cell phone to buy.......2007-12-27
I did not like this product because it started having problems very soon after I purchased it. The capability of the phone to hold a charge was the largest issue. I still own this product, but have to have the phone plugged into the charger in order for the phone to keep a charge. If the phone is not plugged into the charger, it dies within two minutes and then more problems arise. When you try to turn the phone back on, after the power dies or after you just turn it off, it will freeze on the opening screen and I have to play around with unplugging and plugging it back in, turning it on and off, before this problem is fixed. I know it is not the battery itself, because after the phone dies if you take the battery out and then put it back in it has a full charge. All in all, I am very dissatisfied with the product for these reasons and I wouldn't buy this model again.
DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!!.......2007-12-25
I originally purchased this phone October 2006 when I signed up with Verizon. The firt phone 325I lasted about 6 months with major enough issues that Verizon gave me an exchange. My second 325i cuts me of in the middle of converstions and does not hold a charge. Verizon tells me the battery is good forabout 8 months in this phone and is $40.00 to replace it. I am so frustrated with it I want to throw it out the window of a moving vehicle to fix its issues. Verzon will not admit to all if its problems. I have insurance on my phone but I do not want another one just like this one t replace it. I will purchase a different one out right to keep from having to deal with a third one just like this one.
Horrible Phone.......2007-12-17
I have a family plan and out of the four v325i's we got, three have failed completely. Motorola utterly refuses to recognize these phones are junk even though our local Verizon store told me that over a hundred of these phones have been turned into them as defective (and I live in a small town). Motorola has even discontinued this model, at least for Verizon customers.
Don't buy this phone!.......2007-11-16
This phone has been horrible. The screens move slowly. The phone freezes up. The battery soesn't stay charged. I would definitely NOT buy this phone again or recommend it!
Tips for use.......2007-10-11
I have always needed a phone with an external antenna as I live out in an area not served well by cell towers. I replaced an E815, which I found to be a bit better overall due to its flash and Bluetooth capability, but the shell was slippery. I have the V325 that does not have Bluetooth, but all of the other features are the same. The rubber trim is great for protecting the phone when dropped, the camera is okay (no flash), sound is pretty decent and my battery life after 6 months is days of standby and hours of talk time. If using a car charger without setting the timer, you can affect the phone's ability to charge properly and that may be what causes some of the battery problems listed. I have read about the slowness issue, and having a lot of text messages saved in the phone causes this. Deleting both the sent and received messages will return the phone to a speed that is the same of any other phone. Overall, it is a rugged phone that looks decent, will take much more abuse than the Razor phones (my friend has had three in two years, I have run over my phone with the car and it is fine), and the 325i with Bluetooth is a good, solid phone for many cell phone users.

Back to Basics.......2007-01-30
This phone is a very good basic phone. Absolutely no frills, simply a plain vanilla cell-phone.
I obtained it through Verizon Wireless, so this review is per Verizon Wireless's setup.
Looks and Feel: Very attractive, similar to the PEBL look (mine is in dark blue). Rubberized texture keeps phone from slipping out of my pocket. External LCD is interesting because the color is inverted and text is vertical. However, it can be changed to horizontal but it looks silly that way because the time is displayed on two lines.
The buttons have a very nice, solid feel to them. This phone is constructed much better than my old LG, which felt cheap. There is a bit of side-to-side play in the cover when the phone is closed (I've read this in other reviews), however when the phone is open it feels solid.
Features: This phone does not support Get-It-Now or Mobile Browser, which I had on my older phone but hardly ever used. Nowadays, anywhere I go has internet access so it really isn't a deal-breaker for me. The standard ring-tones selection is a joke, but I usually keep it in vibrate mode anyway so I don't notice. The vibrate is slightly less powerful than I'm used to, but I still notice it. If you're reading this review, you probably know that it has no camera (I can't have one at my work).
Sound: The phone's normal ear-speaker is bright and loud and sounds very full. My old LG sounded tinny. The phone's 'speaker-phone' is located on the back of the phone, near the bottom of the battery compartment. Quality is not as good as my old LG VX4650, but still loud enough to hear while I'm driving on the Freeway. One nice thing is that the call stays connected even if you close the phone (if speaker-phone is activated).
I haven't had the chance to play any ringtones other than the standard tones (BitPim doesn't yet support this phone). Unfortunately, since it cannot receive pix or objects in text messages there is no other way to get any media to the phone. I heard about Motorola Phone Tools, but I don't want to buy this so I can't comment on operability with that.
Battery Life: Great. I took the phone off the charger saturday morning, it's now Monday and the bars are still at full charge. Much better than my old LG.
Tools: Calculator, alarm, calendar, voice memo. Simple and effective.
Connectivity: There is a mini-USB connector on the side of the phone which the charger and data-cable can plug into. The data cable is the same as my palm-pilot and samsung MP3 player had, so that is very nice. Thanks Motorola for not using a proprietary interface!
Summary: Very good BASIC phone. Don't expect to be able to customize the phone very much (with Verizon anyway, your carrier might be different), other than the color scheme and some basic midi ring-tones. I gave it 4 stars because the vibrate function isn't as strong as I would like, also the speaker-phone quality is not as good as my older phone. Also, the external display doesn't tell you if the phone is in vibrate mode or not. But a great battery life and very nice-feeling keys and sturdy construction make it a great phone.
