Motorola RAZR V3 Pink Phone (AT&T)

    Amazon.com Product Description

Thin is definitely in. At just over a half-inch thick, the Motorola RAZR V3 is the perfect combination of sleek design and powerful features. With long-range Bluetooth, support for video playback, a VGA (640 x 480) camera, and a gorgeous color screen, the RAZR V3 is everything you're looking for in a stylish mobile companion. The Motorola RAZR V3 is truly an impressive quad-band phone. And now it is available in gorgeous pink (some folks call it magenta) for those who want to kick up the style and get the most out of their Cingular service.

Take a closer look at the pink RAZR V3's functions.
    Design
The RAZR V3's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, anodized aluminum construction. A large 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The VGA camera lens is housed above this display. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control, and a voice button on the right side of the unit allows you to enter voice memos and create voice dialing profiles. Most of the phone's features and onscreen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A charging port and USB data cable port is located on the bottom of the phone.

    Calling Features
The RAZR V3's internal phone book can hold up to 1,000 contacts, and the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. It also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. A number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone, and more ringtones can be downloaded from Cingular Wireless's MEdia service. There's even an included application, MotoMixer, that lets you mix your own ringtones. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear, and voice-activated dialing makes calling your friends, family, and associates as easy as saying their names.

Because the RAZR V3 is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total hands-free operation.

    Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The RAZR V3 is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound, and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Instant messaging is also supported via AOL Instant Messenger, and the phone ships with a built-in e-mail client with support for POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols (Cingular messaging charges apply). There's also a built-in Web browser for MEdia downloads and mobile Web browsing. Cingular's MEdia service lets you receive and send e-mails, read news headlines, get weather updates, download games and ringtones, and more. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier to enter words and text on handsets, is built in to the unit--a plus for mobile e-mail and text messaging users.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the RAZR V3 as it supports Cingular's GSM-based Wireless Internet Express service. When used with a Cingular data plan and the phone's Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the RAZR V3, including a voice memo recorder, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar, and an alarm clock. Use the phone's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth accessory or to connect to a computer or hand-held device to exchange and synchronize data. The phone also supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard, which can be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar, and other data with your PC.

    Imaging and Entertainment
With 5 MB of internal memory storage, the RAZR V3 shines in the entertainment department. The phone's VGA camera features a 4x zoom, image quality options, and an auto-timer so you can be in your pictures, too. Capture stills and then send them to your friends via MMS messaging or e-mail or to your PC via USB or Bluetooth. The phone is capable of MPEG4 video playback when you receive a video message or if you upload video to the phone via USB or Bluetooth. The RAZR V3 also supports custom graphics for wallpapers, so you can dress up the phone to suit your fancy.

Support for gaming is built into the phone and games are available for download via the Cingular MEdia service.

    Operating the RAZR Battery Door
The RAZR V3's battery cover is designed to have a very tight fit with the phone case. You may need to use your fingernail or a very thin instrument to depress the small battery cover release button. When replacing the cover, make sure the cover securely snaps into place before operating the phone.

    Vital Statistics
The Motorola RAZR V3 weighs 3.35 ounces and measures 3.86 by 2.09 by 0.54 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 6.67 hours of digital talk time and up to 250 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS frequencies. The phone comes with a one-year limited warranty.

    2 out of 5 stars Ok it's pink but that's all!.......2007-09-14

I had this phone for a little over a year when the screen went bad, within the next few days the sound went as well so now I am suck paying the $50 deductible for my "new" refurbished phone that cingular (now at&t) insurance is sending me. I have never dropped this phone and i am even a light user (i only do like 700 minutes a month) so i would not recommend this for anyone who plans on their phone lasting more than a year. Oh and this happened to two other RAZR V3s that my boyfriend had as well.

2 out of 5 stars I've had my pink RAZR for a year.........2007-05-17

Initially the phone was okay. I got it almost a year ago and it seemed like a phone I could live with, though I've never really been a fan of Motorola (I'm much more of a Samsung kind of girl), but I figured I'd give it a try. It worked alright, but after a while it was a hassle to deal with:

    - The camera pictures turn out blurry unless the phone is held still for a couple seconds after the picture is taken, and I can only initially save to phone (not apply as wallpaper, etc) otherwise the picture will become blurry and unrecognizable
    - The menus begin to lag ridiculously
    - The phonebook only allows for multiple numbers under one name if you save to phone, which was a BIG PROBLEM for me (I'll talk about this later)
    - The phonebook only has two search options: input the first letter and scroll down to find the entry, OR input a part of the phrase and the phone will find the closest result, BUT NOT when you are inputting it
    - After a couple months, there was uncontrollable static and buzzing.

The last point became a big nuisance to me -- it got to the point where I couldn't hear the person on the other line because there was a loud, constant buzzing noise, as if I was next to a speaker or something. I knew it wasn't my signal, because Cingular service has always been excellent in my area, and no matter where I went the buzzing followed.

My dad, who also has a RAZR (albeit a slightly older version), had the same problem. I looked online and it seemed to be pretty common.

Finally, I took it to a Cingular cart, and they advised me to call Cingular since the manufacturer had a one-year handset warrantly. Luckily, when I called I had 36 days left on my warranty and so they sent me a new identical phone.

Problem is, I've got another year left in my contract, so if this happens again, I'll be stuck with it (warranty expires after 90 days for this phone)..

Suffice it to say, I'll be avoiding Motorola in the future.

3 out of 5 stars okay phone till it breaks.......2007-02-03

My Razr, after 4 months, began having problems with its camera. I called in to get it replaced; luckily I had a warranty on it; but the only way to save my ringtones and pictures was to go and spend $54 on a stupid cheap piece of software that came with a USB data cable. When I spend so much money on a cell phone, I expect to be able to get to the stuff I put on it without spending so much money. It is RIDICULOUS that they won't give you the cable and software with the phone!

My other problem was that it came with NOTHING on it at all, no games, no ringtones, no nothing. Other than the inability to get my pictures and data from it, and it coming with nothing despite being a $150 phone, it has good reception and does pretty good otherwise.

    4 out of 5 stars razr .......2007-01-27

I have had this phone for a little over 2 months now. I love it! The only thing I don't like about it is the battery life isn't long enough.
As for all the negative comments I suggest you read the manual that comes with it. And try not to drop the phone in water!

    4 out of 5 stars Great phone..............2006-12-17

But it does have some faults. I have had it for some time now, I got it for my 11th birthday. But I have this phone hooked up with verizon, not cingular.

    FAULTS:
Very short battery life - I have to charge it almost every day!
Camera - The picture you take can't move or it comes out all messed up.

    GOOD PARTS:
Big screen - Easy to read!
Recording videos - Even though you get 15 seconds, I still use that to make funny videos with my friends.
It's style - I love the color and style! My friends are all jealous.

    Overall, I think it's a great phone.

    Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars My favorite phone!.......2007-12-11

I have had my Razr for over a year now, and I adore it. I am not tech-savvy enough to work all of the things it can do, but everything I can use I really like. The hot pink color is SO CUTE- I love it. My grandma and I share a family plan, and she actually switched us from Verizon to T-Mobile for this hot pink phone because the verizon pink is pale and boring. I was skeptical, but now I like it. The slim size is very convenient.

Things I don't like are the huge window on the front- it picks up fingerprints very easily. Another reviewer said hers doesn't give alerts on the window, but mine does, so perhaps there is a problem with that other phone? I also have a small problem with the alarm clock; it works great but I have deleted an alarm I used to need and it still goes off... at midnight each night... but this isn't a big deal to me, since it only beeps once and then is quiet :)

    Overall awesome phone.

    5 out of 5 stars Love it!.......2007-05-06

I got it for Christmas and I love it. I have had NO trouble with it at all. The only thing that sometimes gets annoying is that I have these one pair of pants and the pockets must be too big or something, because every time I put my phone in my pocket and go somewhere in the car, or sit down.....when I get up, It falls out of my pocket. I have "lost" my phone at least twice because of that happening........but don't worry, it was in the car(where it fell out of my pocket)! But this has nothing to do with the phone. I guess it is just my pockets because those are the only pants they do that on. But I REALLY, REALLY LOVE this phone!!!!!

    3 out of 5 stars o.k phone. i guess........2007-03-18

i love the t-mobile pink razr, because its the perfect shade for me, but what stinks is, in school sometimes i carry my phone in my back pocket, and when i go to turn it on at the end of the day, it's on! i wouldn't want to get my phone taken away because of its lack to stay off. if u carry it in a purse, it doesn't have this problem. its sleek design is perfect for if u have limited room in a purse or pocket. Definitely a good phone for if u travel internationally 2. before leaving the country, dial 611 from your t-mobile phone, and get the service to use it overseas, and the best part is udon't pay monthly for the service, its free, and all u pay for is what u use!!!

5 out of 5 stars Motorola Cherry Blossom Tatto Rocks.......2007-01-17

I just upgraded my Samsung phone from T-mobile, to this Razr and I am truly happy with my choice. This phone is the bomb.

    Pros:
    Large Screen
    Great Camera and Video Recorder
    Good volume
    Loud Ringer

    Cons:
The display light doesn't stay on for very long
Phone doesn't save all of one person's numbers under one contact.

5 out of 5 stars So far so good!.......2006-12-05

I keep waiting for at least one of the numerous complaints to happen to my phone, but alas, I keep waiting (thankfully!). I have dropped it, twice, from a short distance however, but it did not break right away like other people have claimed. The interface is great, Motorola has one of the better ones. It has all the options I want on it although there are a lot of them and it can be confusing at times. However, if you use the manual you'll get the most out of it. It sounds great and has good reception. I also like that it is wider then most phones so I don't have to press it to my ear. I can hear fine with just a corner of the phone to my ear which is a lot more comfortable. As for T-mobile service, I have been with them for 4+ years and have never had a complaint. They have they the best plans and the best customer service.
