Verizon's music service is another EV-DO-powered service that makes the VX9800m all the more desirable. With V Cast Music, your phone is a music player, letting you jam out wherever you are. It's also a music store, and you can download songs instantly to your phone wirelessly. Save your songs to a memory card with a capacity that's right for you. You can even pause to take a call without missing a beat. You can also load up your own songs from your personal music collection and listen to them on the VX9800's built-in music player.

Getting on the Internet anywhere is easy with the VX9800m. Verizon's Mobile Web package allows you to read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your phone. You can check your e-mail, trade stocks online, compare prices while shopping, access flight information, get movie listings and find directions to the theater. Verizon's Get It Now wireless download service is also fully compatible with the VX9800m. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Get It Now service.
The VX9800m ships with a number of handy tools including a calendar and a voice memo application. An alarm clock and calculator are also included. Use the VX9800m's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth headset accessory or connect to a computer or hand-held device to exchange and synchronize data. Another powerful tool, VZ Navigator provides heads-up, voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions with auto-rerouting if you miss a turn. This subscription-based GPS navigation service makes it a snap to get where you need to go.

There's even an integrated business card scanning function.
The VX9800m supports V Cast 3D games, as well as other 2D-based games, which are available from Verizon's Get It Now service. You can also customize the phone's wallpapers and screensavers to give your phone a look that suits your style.

Hard to Compare to .......2007-10-29
I bought this phone I want to say about 2 yrs ago and I still haven't got sick of it. I have a short attention span & always want something new but I still love this phone. The option to flip open makes texting extremely easy & quick. There are plenty of options as far as Ringtones offered thru Verizon. Now the phone's plans are not the best around I'm sure you can find a cheaper plan elsewhere. To be perfectly honest that's one thing that makes me want to leave Verizon if it wasn't for my phone I would. Other than that its a great buy!
Screen Cracked From Inside.......2007-04-24
One fine day when I took the phone off my jacket, both the screens were cracked from inside.
Though I had the 1 year warranty, they did not fix it for me, stating that it was a physical damage done by the customer.
They wanted $50 to fix it.....
The ear piece volume is also too low....
Not worth for that price
2ND "V" WITH FREEZING KEYBOARD!!!! UGGGH!!!.......2007-03-03
This is my second "V" and just started freezing in the exact same fashion as the last one. It workd great otherwise but buyers need to be aware of this problem which seems to be to common.
Absolutely awesome!.......2007-01-30
This deal cannot be beat! We have an exceptional deal as long as there's a two year contract. The reception is excellent, features like mp3(with an SD card) playback, qwerty keyboard for sms fanatics may keep me with Verizon beyond my contract.
Good but could certainly be better!.......2007-01-12
For me, it was important to be able to just get online with a phone and not use a number pad. That's what I love most about this phone. I love VCAST, but I don't like paying the extra $15 per month for it. It should be cheaper.
Secondly, I take lots of pictures with my phone. The pictures are clear, but the lighting has to be right because the little flash on the phone doesn't give off enough light.
This phone is a little bulky, which no one likes, but I've come to think that its bulkiness is why mine still works after being dropped and scratch up on so many occasions. I drop this phone, and it keeps right on working. Thank God!
On the other hand, I don't like that settings don't stick with this phone. Sometimes, you have to keep resetting it. On my phone, I have to keep resetting the FLASH option to ON when I take pictures. There's no way for me to leave it on for all pictures.
Thirdly, the video record time should be more than the 15 seconds. They have got to make a better newer model and make upgrading an option. I really love this phone, but I know that LG can make it next to perfect.
Give me a stronger flash that stays on, more video time and optional office programs, and I'll be in phone heaven.

Customer Reviews:
Depends on what you want..........2007-04-24
Features I liked:
-QWERTY keyboard
-LOUD speakerphone (can go from speakerphone with the phone opened straight to closed up to the ear, which is great when you're on hold!)
Problems:
-battery was okay at the beginning but once you have it a couple months, the battery life gets shorter than a day.
-it's fatter (about 2x) and longer than most other phones, so if you put your phone in your pocket or a purse, expect for it to take up extra room
-camera is real bad on the phone, don't know about when downloaded. it doesn't have a cover to the lens, and its right where you natrally hold the back of the phone
-the external memory is a mini, NOT MACRO, which most newer phones use. and it only fits certain brands, and it only holds 512MB!!!!! Which if you want to use it for a camera and a music player isn't much.
-ear piece is small, the phone must be in the exact right place to hear ANYTHING.
AWESOME!.......2007-02-06
My mom got it for me on my 13th birthday. . . && its like so cool. I totally freaked when i held it in my hands. i was like so happy. No one ever really had this so i thought it was unique because most people had flip phones && this one stands out. it totally rocks. . . .
u can listen to MP3s take pictures, make videos && stuff.
u can sign in yer MSN, Yahoo, & AIM messenger && check yer mail && stufff. Did i mention? The MP3`s AWES0ME && it has alot of modes on it like Concert Hall, 3D Surround, Rock, Jazz, Pop, Classical, && jus plain Flat. && it can go louddd. The concert hall mode's sounds sooo cool. Its like, its echoing. . . . . it sounds so realll. && the 3D Surround sound is like the music`s coming in all directions. It also can hold lots of contacts && its screen`s really clear. . . The cam`s koool too. Except when u take a pic, u shouldn't move too much coz it'll blur. But there are times when its pictures don't come out very well, && times where the pictures look sooo PROFESSIONAL. U jus need enough light but not too much coz it'll jus be plain white. U could take videos too. but its not really clear, so i don't use it that much && the video can only be about a minute. Oh yea, && you could record sounds too for one minute. It has alot of features too! Like Notepad, Alarm Clock, Cauculator && many more. It even has a command mode where u press a button && you say a command like Call Someone (You say a person's name from your contacts list && it`ll dial that person), Digit Dial (You say numbers like for example you say 555-6789 && it`ll dial that number, Voicemail (to check if you have any new voicemail, Missed Calls (to check for missed calls), Messages (to check for New messages && to read it), && lastly Time & Date. It'll tell you the time && what today is! :D Ohhh && theres little smileys && symbols when u txt which is sooo cool && you can color your text!. =D So OVERALL, this phone is AWES0ME. You get what u paid for && sooo much more. Its cooler than cool. =D So like, all i`m trying to say is, buy it. =D
LG THE V.......2006-11-16
I am getting the lg the v on my 13th birthday this year so i hope you enjoy it email Me back on this ok bye Love E.M
Functional and easy to use.......2006-08-01
One word- WOW! This phone is has everything you need. It's just like having a PDA but without all the complicated applications you don't need or use.
The V is jammed packed with all the latest in phone technology. It has a MP3 player (stores up to 1 GIG), 1.3 Mega pixel, Dital Camera/video, Mini SD slot (portable memory), Bluetooth, internet, email, and useful tools like a calculator, alarm clock, and tip calculator. It also has a stellar speaker phone that can double as a small boom box (I'm totally serious it can get pretty loud).
Unlike the keypads on some PDA phones you don't need to type in a phone number using the same key board keys you use to type text messages because the V phone has two consoles. When you need to call someone you can do it using the outside console which is just made up of numbers and buttons. Then if you want to text, surf the web or take pictures you can flip the phone and wah-lah you have an alphabetic key board and a much bigger screen. Its small size makes it perfect to tote around in your hand or slip in your pocket unlike some PDA phones.
The picture and video quality are great considering the phone is only equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel camera. You can zoom; take pictures (day or night because of the flash). Once you learn how to save the picture on to your mini card you can transfer the files onto your computer it's just like using digital camera.
Also, Verizon has this promotion going on that lets you download a GPS application for free for one month. The GPS application gives you real time talking directions to anywhere you want to go. I was impressed with the GPS tracking had the arrows and streets just like a real GPS device's you can buy for your car but in a more smaller package and without the dent in your bank account!
I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a multi-functional cell phone that can play music, take pictures/videos, and surf the web all on one easy to use device. Get one you wont regret it!
Cons: There are two things I don't like about the device. The first is the high price of the V-cast upgrade that lets you surf the web among other things like download music. It is about $50 a month which is a little pricy for my taste but I can't live without it. Also, to play music on the phone I had to transfer all my MP3's into WMA format and use Windows Media Player 10 (I usually use iTunes or yahoo media) it took a while to get used to but it paid off in the end.
That's it. Enjoy you new phone!
Excellent phone.......2006-07-16
1. Awesome speakers... best of breed.
2. Awesome mike... while using loudspeaker.. my friend on the other side prefers that I use the loudspeaker mode. Way too good.
3. Excellent GPS. The extra resolution on the inside screen helps when you're viewing maps. Plus, the keyboard is exactly what you want when typing source and destination addresses.
4. Little too thick, but since its packed with features, its a good trade off.
6. Good reception. Voice clarity could be a shade better, but its not a show stopper.
