Supporting the EV-DO high-speed data standard, the Katana DLX is fully compatible with Sprint's Power Vision service. With Power Vision, you can download and stream high-quality video, straight onto your phone. Enjoy full-color video clips or live TV of the latest news, sports, and entertainment from brands you know, like CNN, Fox, The Weather Channel, NFL Mobile, and more. Sprint's music service is another EV-DO-powered service that makes the Katana DLX all the more desirable. Offering a growing selection of more than 1.6 million songs, the store provides you two copies of each song--one for the phone and another for the PC, as well as the ability to burn songs to a CD using Windows Media Player. Measuring just 0.6 inches thin, the Katana DLX features a stunning radial finish in champagne and a unique reverse hinge that opens to an ideal ergonomic talking position. It sports a bright 2-inch internal LCD that offers a 240 x 320-pixel resolution and 262K colors, which also features IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology for wide-angle viewing with superior brightness and contrast. It has a call history of 20 outgoing calls, 20 incoming calls, 20 missed calls, 60 recent calls. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear, and advanced voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family, and associates easy (up to 30 entries). Simply say the name or number of the person you want to call and the number is dialed automatically without using the keypad. phone is nice, sprint is not.......2007-12-27

I recommend this phone. It works well and has some really nice features. However, I do not recommend Sprint. First, in addition to purchasing a package and phone from Amazon, Sprint charged me a $150 deposit. It's refundable, so I accepted it. However, in my area, Sprint coverage is very spotty. In my house, I have 3 bars with Alltel and either zero or one bar with Sprint. So I canceled my service after one day. Guess what? You have to wait SIX WEEKS to get that deposit back. And then, it's by check...they don't credit your credit card as they should. Their customer service folks are all in India and seem nice enough, if you can find someone who understands what you're asking. I'm sticking with Alltel.

Software does not work for Sanyo SCP-3200.......2007-09-23

I purchased this cable and software to download the phone list from my Sanyo SCP-4900 and upload it to the SCP-3200. The download of the phone list from the 4900 worked well, but there does not seem to be a driver available for communicating to the SCP-3200. Other Sanyo drivers fail to detect the phone, making the software useless for phone book maintenance or picture downloads. If one simply wants a USB connection to charge their phone, then this will work for that purpose.

Not for Katana II.......2007-08-31

The product is as described, but does NOT work with Katana II phone. The computer recognizes it, but Sprint and Sanyo have made it proprietary and the drivers for the computer are not available. It is useless for my purpose.

I ordered this for my Katana DLX (SCP-8500) and though its written on this page that my phone is supported, its not. I updated the software, and still, it's not supported. Luckily I have 4 older katanas in the house that it works with.
