Great Camera.......2007-12-31
Great point and shoot camera. Good quality shots with enough extra features to keep the average photographer very happy. A bit more expensive than similar models out there but I think it is money well spent for the sleek design and ease of use. Recommended .
Canon SD870IS review.......2007-12-30
This is a very nice camera. Pictures taken in the daylight look excellent. Still have some problems with pictures taken in the dark (with the flash), but I have read some reviews about tuning the ISO to fix this. Apart from that the product is excellent.
Not satisfied.......2007-12-29
The camera looked great and I thought the quality of the pictures was alright. However, all of the pictures that I took of a Christmas party suddenly disapeared from the card without my doing anything I lost over 30 picures. I am returning the camera to JR Music where Amazon shipped it from. Not too happy with JR's return handling. I would not purchase anything else from Amazon that is not coming directly from them.
LOVE the sd870!!.......2007-12-29
I love this camera. I originally bought the sd850, and while it's pretty good, I wasn't happy with it. The 870 has everything the 850 was missing--a low battery icon, even easier use, slightly better photos, a wide angle lens, and it's sturdier. The little flap you lift to connect the USB cable seems much sturdier.
Love this camera!.......2007-12-29
I bought this for my mom.
She is not a camera person, but she can handle this camera easily with it's big 3" Screen, wide angle, and image stabilization!
Love this camera!

Customer Reviews:
I REALLY wanted to give this TV a 5.......2007-12-31
I purchased this TV at 1500, and it was a solid deal for a name brand. The Picture is excellent, as good as any other HD Image, and i paired it with the A35, which is absolutely beutiful when in 1080P. Three HDMI ports are nice, but the VGA por disapointed me as it will only accept a 4:3 image. That confused me, why would a widescreen television only take a 4:3 from a widescreen laptop. Looked around and found that other have the same issue, and the television will not take a widescreen image from VGA. Also, the second port for standard AV (my Wii) is placed on the side in such a manner that the wires shoot out the side rather annoyingly. Also, the silver band at the bottom and the gloss border are also a bit annoying as they reflect backlighting, and a simple matte finish takes care of this. Be sure to take at least 20 minutes to adjust color and contrast on the tv using a guide, this is necessary with any tv of course. Overall, I really wanted to give it a 5 star, but minor annoyances took that way. But rest assured, a quality tv that definately produces a great picture and is a quality buy.
Excellent LCD.......2007-12-27
very good LCD amazon had the right price. Very happy with the picture and features.
Good but not not good enough!.......2007-12-24
I purchased this before Thanksgiving because the Samsung LNT4661 was not available and I got a good price on it at Sears with price matching. I won't go into all the gory details but only the highlights.
Pros:
-Very attractive styling
-Nice remote with channel favorites menus
-Easy list mode for adding and deleting channels quickly
-Sharp image
Cons:
-Green shift!!!!!! Look up on other forums for this model. It has a reputation for a slight green tint or shift on darker parts of the scenes. I spent many days trying to make fine adjustments but to no avail. Some people without a critical eye may not notice it but once I noticed it, I noticed more and more. Even my spouse (who is does not have a critical eye) complained
-PC input (VGA) limited in resolution to 1280x1024
-HDMI with computer video limited to 1920x1080 @24hz! Does anyone know of PC card with DVI out that supports this mode?
-NO USB port
Considering the price and Amazon's price today of $1199, this tv might be a keeper for some people, but untimately, I couldn't stand the green shift in the picture and returned it. Then I purchased the Samsung LNT4661 and I'm not looking back. The Samsung definitely has more natural and accurate picture colors.
Excellent choice with options.......2007-12-23
[...]
As with any tv, you will have to adjust the picture settings to get it perfect but I find myself cycling through different presents "Sports, Document, Movie, Standard, Preference" depending on what I am watching. It is annoying for others but I am always trying to get the best picture possible. There is never any glare like others complain about plasmas.
I upgraded to this after using a 26" Toshiba CRT HDTV. The sound-card on this is amazing! The same surround sound system I had been using sounds 5,000% better hooked up to this REGZA. You will not be disappointed if you buy this tv.
Good TV.......2007-12-22
I decided I needed an HDTV and went to the local store to view them. I was rather scientific about it, I went down the row and compared the pictures on each one and rated them. This search included plasma, lcd, sony, samsung, lg, toshiba, etc. I then looked at my sorted list - and to my surprise the top two TV's were both 47HL167 - unbeknown to me there had been two on the wall.
Now, I have a theory that the store can easily sway buyers to different TV's by playing with the color/sharpness/tint settings but this TV looked great. It was brighter than the others - this was particularly evident when looking at grass. The Toshiba showed a bright emerald green grass while the others were more of a darker pine green that didn't seem as clear to me - but others might disagree as it is a matter of preference. So I fully believe this TV is as good as the other brands.
I ordered off Amazon because it was significantly cheaper than the local stores. (The TV was delivered by Electronics Expo - and I got a 42" by mistake. While annoying, they fixed the problem promptly and politely - so I guess that's a good test of a store) Installation to the Peerless ST650P (a great deal on amazon also, you'll pay twice as much in a store) mount was easy - a bit heavy for one person but I managed.
The TV takes about 4 seconds to turn on, which is a bit annoying. The picture on HD is great. Non-HD can be a bit disappointing because the screen is big enough to show all the imperfections in the broadcast. But I suspect more HD channels are on the way. Overall I'm happy with this TV.

Great Camera.......2007-12-31
I've had this camera since May and am very pleased with it. I am definetely an ameteur but use this camera for vacations and shooting my kids sporting events. No other digital I've had has come close to the speed and quality of this Sony!
Camera.......2007-12-30
The best camera I have owned in 60 years. It will make you a really good photog....I have taken over 4000 images with it so far and have great results. On the minus the controls are poor, the wheel on top moves too easily and in action work it gets moved without me knowing about it....as does the flash button. I have put a 1/4 thick piece of felt between the wheel on the back and the wheel on top and it is better. I also don't like the carry strap. I purchased a polorizer filter that works great for me too. The zoom is great. It takes great movies too with great sound.
Full of features and tons of fun!.......2007-12-26
I enjoy photos of birds and wildlife, so better optical zoom makes it easier to get the image I want without scaring the critters away. I still have to work on being fast enough to get quality photos of birds in flight, but the sports mode helps with moving critters, people on bikes, etc. I've also taken exceptional night photos of Christmas lights with only a monopod.
The camera has difficulty detecting faces if the people aren't caucasian, so face detection of black people isn't reliable. I'm disappointed in this oversight but with other subjects I love the clear photos and the prints have met my expectations up to 11x14.
The Sony rechargeable battery lasts longer than I anticipated. I have not yet had the battery die during any event. I always take a spare battery with me, but I haven't yet used it for a single event, even for several hours.
The macro and flash buttons are in different places than on my DSC W7, but with more time and practice, I can learn. With the quality automatic modes I can still operate the camera without too much difficulty while wearing gloves. This may be more difficult for those with large hands - mine are slender.
With all the features packed into this camera, I hate to leave home without it because it's ready to go in mere seconds and multiple images of a subject is easy with little delay. I recommend buying at least a 2G Memory Stick Pro Duo. Also, wear comfortable shoes when out for a walk with this camera. Time flies, but your feet will suffer. I look forward to spring when my flowers are in bloom and the butterflies and bees visit.
Awesome in the jungle!.......2007-12-24
I bought this camera specifically to capture (photographically!) monkeys, macaws, and toucans during a vacation in Costa Rica. With the 15x zoom and SteadyCam, it performed beyond my expectations. A definite "two thumbs up" as a high end digital!
Never buy from this seller again!.......2007-12-18
I actually bought the camera with a 2GB kit from Butterfly Photo. I don't have anything to say about the camera but a lot about the seller . First, the shipping came with two items missing, the memory card reader, and the cleaning kit. We call them to inform them about that, they tried to persuade us telling us that it was Amazon fault, but since we didn't give up, they finally shipped the missing items. Soon to realize that the memory card reader they sent us does not fit at all with the memory card of the camera!!!! I am still trying to talk to someone that can take any responsibility on that. Moreover, the memory card is defective, giving error messages here and there. When we started looking for some info about it, we found out that the memory card was actually fake!!!!! In Amazon there is a guide that explains you how to tell real memory cards from fake ones. I would suggest that you read that first before trusting any buyer. The real ones are supposed to come with the memory card adapter (this one didn't) and the package is totally different (We went to Best Buy to confirm these). Moreover, the tripod they sell in the package is very low quality. I am now wondering if the camera actually does not have some defects also...
I would suggest to get this camera from another seller

Horrible Picture Quality.......2007-12-31
I bought this camera for my wife and as soon as we downloaded the first batch of pictures, i knew that this camera was going back to the store.
i believe the problem lies with the tiny lens and the camera is forced to bump up the ISO level to accommodate for the lack of light entering the camera. this results in a total washout of any detail in the picture. so you end up capturing 8 MP of smear.
to be fair, it took good pictures outdoors or with very high light levels. but for indoor shots or those with low light, the flash is weak and the ISO gets pushed up to 800 or more.
avoid this model. I own a Canon S2 IS and love it. we were only looking for something more compact. I will stick to Canon.
so so..........2007-12-28
awesome features.. however the camera does not produce good pictures. they're either too dark and grainy or too white/over exposed and make me look like a goth kid.. sending it back
Sony Cybershot T70 (black).......2007-12-27
Pros: The camera design is great, much smaller than I remember it being in the stores. The design is nice and it seems like it will hold up well over time. The touch-screen is very easy to use. The movies have unlimited time and they are excellent quality! The slideshows are cool and can be customized with music, the "smile shutter" does work. There is red-eye correction that you can apply after taking the picture. I use a Sandisk 4GB Pro Duo card.
Cons: In low light the background can be too dark but if you push the shutter button down a little and let it focus it does better. I noticed this on the "Auto" shooting setting, I haven't played with the other settings much.
Awesome style, features, but bad pics.......2007-12-19
I want to love this camera, but just can't for the simple fact that indoor/lower light pictures just look terrible. This is for two reasons. One the camera bumps the ISO settings too high, causing noise. Two, this causes the noise filter to try to correct the problem, but it just winds up making everyone looked smeared.
The face detection seems to work well, tracking up to 8 faces as long as they are looking at the camera directly. Smile detection on the other hand was pretty spotty, and I could only get it to work reliably with very cheezy smiles.
The huge touchscreen on the back is definitely a wow factor when people see this camera. It's bright and clear, and is very impressive as it takes up the entire back of the camera. The touchscreen itself made me nervous because when you press on it, the LDC below is squished, causing the screen to momentarily change colors. You would never see this on a PDA. Perhaps a better choice would have been a glass backing for the screen, or even better, use the same technology as the iphone's screen. For the most part the interface is pretty good, but simple tasks such as turning off the flash, or switching to macro mode take too many touches.
Pros:
- Great styling
- Face detection
- Touchscreen is nice, screen is big and bright
- Image stabilizer works well
Cons:
- Image quality is terrible
- Smile detection needs some work
- Too many touches to get complete simple tasks
- Zoom button is hard to get to, impossible for one handed operation.
- Only takes memory stick, SD would have been better (granted this is a Sony so I really don't expect anything less)
- Would have been nice if it took AA batteries.
Bottom line:
I love the look of this camera, and the touchscreen allows for the camera to have very few physical buttons. However, the gimmicks wears off quickly.
Ultimately, I took this camera back to the store for a Canon SD850(see my other review) because the image quality was unacceptable. If you shoot any pictures in low light or indoors picture quality will suffer.
too small and lens not as good as cybershot.......2007-12-18
Love the look, but the size is awkward (finger often gets in the way of the lens). Picture quality was not fantastic (we are very picky) - but we prefer and highly recommend the cybershot with the carl ziess lens. Not as nice looking as this camera but out performs it and feel right in the hands.

A network router that let's you connect your network to your high-speed Cable or DSL modem / For Windows PC AC adapter included Includes - 60-day trial of Norton Internet Security 2003 (packaged by Linksys)
Amazon.com Product Description
The Linksys EtherFast cable/DSL router connects multiple PCs to a high-speed broadband Internet connection or to an Ethernet backbone. Configurable as a DHCP server, the EtherFast router acts as the only externally recognized Internet device on your local area network (LAN). The router can also be configured to block internal users' access to the Internet. A typical router relies on a hub or a switch to share its Internet connection, but the Linksys EtherFast router channels this connection through the full-duplex speed of its built-in EtherFast 10/100 four-port switch. This combination of router and switch technology eliminates the need to buy an additional hub or switch and serves your network as a completely dedicated, full-duplex backbone. Now your entire network can enjoy broadband Internet connections supported by its switched backbone. This unit requires an external cable or DSL modem with an Ethernet RJ-45 interface. This product comes with a one-year warranty.
Note: All Linksys routers now include a special edition of Norton Internet Security! Claim your free CD-ROM by calling (800) 814-0180, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific, seven days a week.
Customer Reviews:
Works fine.......2007-12-29
In hindsite I should have gone with the wireless version (as I've had the chance to use that as well) but this is a good product. My only complaint is how it resets after power outages.
Bitter Sweet..........2007-12-19
First, the router works fantastic...once it is configured correctly. Now, that is the trick because the buyer has no control over the configuration. Allow me to explain:
I have two laptops and a PS3 system. I recently upgraded from dial up access (cough...choke...puke) to DSL (yay!! Fast as hell!). The company supplying the DSL did not sell multiport modems, which is insane in today's technologically crazed society! Anyway, so I have DSL in place and I'm attempting to install this router so I can have DSL access for all of my toys. It should be as simple as a "plug and play, follow the instructions" setup.
It is/was not. I had to call Linksys Tech support to walk me through a complicated ONLINE UPGRADE/CONFIGURATION of their router BEFORE I could even use it. This is crazy!! Whatever happened to "follow the instructions" and it works?!?! I have installed many IT systems through my years of work and have not had any issues setting up routers, until now.
To Linksys credit, their tech support was fantastic and they got me up and running in a short amount of time (Thank You!!!).
However...come on...why does it have to be this way?
Happy Holidays,
Smacka
I think the one I received was defective.......2007-12-18
I purchased this router to replace an SMC Barricade NAT Router I have behind a Linksys wireless router for security. The wireless Linksys works very well. My connection drops now and then and I thought it might be the SMC because it's several years old and the BEFSR41 might be more compatible. The problem I had was that I couldn't get the password to reset no matter what I did. I followed the directions that came with the router and went on the web site to be sure I was doing it properly. Couldn't reset it to the factory settings and couldn't get access with the easy password I used to set it up. I think this one was just defective. My Linksys wireless works great all the time.
Returning version 4.3 because it is not reliable.......2007-12-04
I have a very early version of this router in my home network. I assume it is v1 because it has been in use for at least a decade, probably longer. It has been in use so long I honestly forget. That router has been rock solid all these years and I use the advanced UPnP and port range forwarding features. You would think the newer version would still be dependable..... sigh. Not so.
I wanted a router for my mom's home network so I purchased version 4.3 of this router while I am visiting for the holidays. I read all the negative reviews about the router freezing and the need to cycle power frequently. I decided to give it a chance anyhow given the flawless history of the early version I have at home. Darn, don't waste your time and money like I did. The new version really is a PoS like so many reviewers before me have stated.
It has been in use for a week now and it is going back to the store today. I have to cycle power every day, sometimes several times a day. I have never purchased anything but linksys hubs, switches, routers, modems and WAPs. Sad, this loyal customer must switch brands because the quality I have enjoyed in the past is no longer built into linksys products, at least this model for sure. I will try the D-Link DGL-4100 and hope I have better luck.
Purchased on February 16, 2003.......2007-12-02
I bought this router from Amazon on February 16, 2003. It has been running continuous since it arrived. I have never had any problem with it, even with peer-to-peer clients running nearly continuous on two computers. It is also very fast. I just bought a wireless access point last month and plugged it into this router and am now slamming another two computers through it (five total) and it's all drama-free with this unit.

Top-Notch Video Performance
The XBR KDL-52XBR4 is a 1080p television with a full 1920 x 1080 resolution, the highest resolution available for the sharpest, clearest picture. The KDL-52XBR uses the most recent HDMI 1.3 interface, which houses both audio and video signals in one connector and has the bandwidth to support the data needed for the high resolution. Sony's Bravia Engine Pro Full Digital Video Processor upconverts all video signals to 1080p so you can watch all your old DVDs on this glorious display.
Sony complements the high resolution with the latest technology in color reproduction. The KDL-52XBR is a 10-bit display with 10-bit processing. Most panels are only 8-bit. The added bit depth here means a larger color palette for more faithful color reproduction and smoother transitions from one color to the next. Additionally, the display also supports the new x.v.Color standard, which dramatically increases the available color space. The end result is a picture that is so detailed, colorful, and vibrant, you'd have a hard time distinguishing it from real life.
The KDL-52XBR4 features Sony's Motionflow technology, which automatically adjusts for and applies the proper processing for optimal motion reproduction depending on the video input. This includes support for 24 frames per second (24p) video, which displays video content at the 24-frames-per-second rate at which it was originally filmed or recorded. With 24p, you get the most faithful possible reproduction of the original.
A Wide Variety of Inputs
This Sony television's wide variety of inputs ensures compatibility with your other home theater components. There are three HDMI connections for Blu-Ray, HD DVD, and other technologies requiring the high bandwidth, and two component video inputs, three composite video inputs, one S-Video input, one PC Audio and Video input, and five analog audio inputs. Even with a collection of legacy components, you shouldn't have a problem connecting to the KDL-52XBR4.
Stunning Looks
The KDL-52XBR4 not only displays stunning video but is itself a head-turner. It features Sony's unique floating glass frame along with a black bezel that can be interchanged with optional color bezels to match the display to your decor.
Outstanding Ergonomics and Simplicity of Control
Sony's Xross Media Bar interface is an award-winning, intuitive on-screen display that makes setup a breeze, with menus and controls logically laid out for quick access. The KDL-52XBR4 also features Theatre Sync technology, based on the HDMI-CEC standard, which means you can easily connect to and control compatible devices. For example, when the KDL-52XBR4 is connected to a compatible DVD player, you can turn on both the DVD player and the television and start playing a DVD with a single push of a button on the remote. When you're done, another push of a button powers everything down. With Theatre Sync, you can spend time enjoying the movie rather than waste time setting everything up.
More Than Just a Television
Because more and more people expect to view photos on their HDTVs, Sony developed a Photo TV HD mode that optimally sets the sharpness, gradation, and color to make digital photos look like printed photography.
The KDL-52XBR4 is backed by a 1-year limited warranty for parts and labor.

Customer Reviews:
Looks are everything... great picture, great aesthetics, great TV!.......2007-12-29 We recently upgraded our TV from a 10-year-old Sony 32" XBR TV to the Sony 52" KDLXBR4 LCD. The TV is fantastic! After having to move out of the house for a major renovation, we swore we would not move the old TV back in, which, with stand, weighed 200 lbs and took three guys to move it. The new Sony arrived, and two guys moved it into place quickly and efficiently, and it powered up perfectly. So simple, easy and effortless (for me!).
Although it does come with a stand, we had our installer hang it on the wall, into which was placed a conduit for the TV's cords to connect to the receiver. (Note: if you are doing home renovation, be sure to put a power outlet on the wall near where you're going to hang it, otherwise, you'll have a power cord dangling down. Doh!)
The TV has a nice set of speakers, and quite a few inputs (including 3 HDMI inputs, I think). However, if you're setting it up in a home theater, all these inputs and speakers go to waste, as you'll only be using one HDMI input into which you'll plug the output of your receiver. Essentially the TV turns into an LCD monitor. But if you are intending to use it as a standalone TV, the speakers are excellent, as is the remote, and it has enough inputs to handle all your equipment.
Setting up the TV is a breeze, with the onscreen setup and the remote. As I said earlier, the remote control is really nicely laid out and easy to use. But if you are setting up a home theater, you'll probably get a universal remote so it won't matter.
The look of the TV was very important to me -- when it hangs on the wall, it becomes a piece of furniture. The look is very clean and unobtrusive. The outer bezel is clear and you can buy additional colored bezels if you want to jazz it up. It fits very nicely in my minimalist modern home.
The picture quality is superb. I don't yet have any HD input sources to connect to it (but expect to soon), but my receiver is an upconverting receiver so it converts lower-resolution signals to higher resolution to give you a great quality picture.
The only thing that I wished I really knew was how much of the TV's functionality would be taken over by the other piece of equipment. It would have been great to just buy the equivalent LCD monitor if they sold it.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the TV and would highly recommend it to others.
Best LCD Full HDTV on the Market!.......2007-12-28 Well I had a projection Mitsubishi TV (73") and it died on me. I was young when my dad bought it so I didnt know much about TV's back then so I couldnt have told him what TV to buy. Anyways onto the topic. I got this TV almost a month ago and I have to say this TV is just so amazing. The picture just still amazes me and the sound is unbelievable. Also if your into video games then this is the TV to get! I have a PS3 and XBOX360 and man does the picture just amaze me even more. I get butter flys in my stomach just thinking about it HAHA. If there is one TV you want to buy its a Sony Bravia thats for sure. Best TV's on the market in my opinion right now. If I was rich I would buy that 72" Sony Bravia but believe it or not its freaking $32,000 USD's! One day ill win the lottery and get it haha (dreaming). So yea I give this TV a 10 star! not a 5 star!. Worth buying and great price. Enjoy!
Great TV.......2007-12-27 I bought this TV a month ago after returning my Sharp 52 inch Aquos. I was skeptical at first to really see a big difference for all the new technology advances on this TV like 120 Hz processing, 10 bit video, 24P true cinema, XBR pro chip with advanced architecture and all.
My previous Sharp was good but not exceptional as I would have expected. But the moment we switched on this TV with my DirecTV HD receiver, the picture came alive and it was breath taking. We didn't realize the channel we were on before we unplugged the Sharp, it was food network and the show at that time was a chef cooking on a big lawn outdoor with some sports cars on the background standing side by side. Wow! the colors were superb and I can't believe I am seeing the total day and night differences between my new Sony and my previous Sharp. Even my non-techie wife completely agreed and for once praised me for spending the extra dough.
The $1000 price difference is worth it. The picture was as smooth as it can get, with no visual blemishes or grains. For the first time I could see the real makeup on each person's face and can't believe even men put on this much make up. Like for example I could see Chris Berman on ESPN Sunday countdown had too much makeup that it looked unreal.
The sweat on the NFL players were crystal clear and I have to say with advances of HD TV, the news cast people have to be extra careful with their makeup's now. Even a slightest spot on their face is clearly seen.
I have set my Sony to output 720P all the time instead of showing the native resolutions from each channel. So if I am watching an SD channel, it up converts the signal to near 720P without too much distortion and I really like the picture compare to my other 27'' Tube TV. With HD channel, 1080i are down converted into 720 but with the progressive scan it looks much better.
I didn't play with all the menu items and the default factory settings are more than adequate for normal viewing. I may play with some features with the help of Cnet website.
Pros: Classy look, beautiful black screen with floating glass, matte finish speakers, not too glossy like some Samsungs, Superb picture quality, adequate video/audio ports, PC connection
Cons: Speakers are not loud enough (may be my living room is too big), expensive (but worth every penny)
I bought this TV after nearly 8 months of research. Finally I have the peace of mind of knowing I bought the best TV money could get and that will last forever with Sony's reputation.
Receiver : DirecTV HD20 with DVR.
UNBELIEVABLE!.......2007-12-25 I have had XBR TVs since SONY introduced them years ago. It is the flagship of the SONY line. SONY makes the professional cameras used by most major broadcasters. It understands what the signals are that originate at broadcasters. This translates into a clear understanding of what software is needed and what technologies are needed to display them. Other than Phillips, no one else on the planet does. They are all wannabes. I have the 52XBR4 with the SONY DX500 surround sound, wireless rear speaker kit, WII, and SONY S500 Blu-Ray. What a dream to setup; the Bravia interconnection is flawless. Don't read the other whiner reviews, read the manual. It is clear how to use this TV. The controls are incredible over what you can do with this machine - and easy to use. May cost a little more - it's priceless what you get for it.

Customer Reviews:
HD / LCD TV Newbie - Now I can't go back.......2007-12-30 First HD/LCD experience - I have had the TV only a few weeks but I am pleased with the purchase. It was at least $200 cheaper than the lowest high street retailer at the time. The delivery (which was free) from Amazon also exceeded expectations, particularly since it was purchased in the run up to Christmas. The HD picture is great and my PS3 game mad nephew appreciated the quality when he had use of it on Christmas day. The 2 HDMI ports help as well. It is hooked upto Fios and the clarity on the HD channels is very, very appreciable. I have a a brightly lit room and was advised that you can get a lot of reflection from the coating on Plasma screens. Given this I opted for an LCD. I watch sports and the "blurring" that I was warned you may experience with LCD screens is not evident - whether this is a myth or the 120hz screen really does work I could not honestly testify but I have not witnessed the blurring, so all is cool there. All in all a nice TV with good color and nice contrast. Only 4 stars due to the brief time I have had it, otherwise I would give it 5 stars just from my experience to date.
Great value at a affordable price.......2007-12-28 I was very pleased with the prefomance of this 32" LCD HDTV. Its everything and more that consumer reports said that it was. If your looking for a LCD Tv for a small area I would suggest this unit. I was very impressed with the easy of use and the quality of picture. I think that once i have my hd dvr hooked up that the sound will be better. Standard difinition on this tv shows up really well.
HD a must.......2007-12-07 Viewing angle is wonderful--if you were worried about LCD viewing angles, it won't be an issue with this TV.
Sound quality is not superior, especially for this price range, but acceptable.
IF you are like me and had not subscribed to HD services, but want an HDTV to alleviate having to upgrade in the future, you will be disappointed in the picture quality for standard definition programming (unless you already have a big screen TV and have gotten used to the degraded quality on bigger screens. The picture on my 13" RCA TV blows this one out of the water in regards to standard def viewing).
I've upgraded to HD programming, and the HD pic quality is great.
In researching for HDTV's (including using the Consumer Reports website to which I subscribe), I kept reading about how standard def viewing was still great on these TV's. Not sure what comparisons are being used, but if you are upgrading from a small set, don't expect sharp quality on these TV's out of the box without HD programming.
This TV was purchased on amazon.com through the seller "Electronics Expo"--shipping was fast and item was well packaged.
A Great TV.......2007-12-06 What a great television. All of the reviews, including those located on Amazon and one by Consumer Reports, indicated this is a great TV for the price, and I have to agree. Although a 768 resolution, at 32" this is not an issue. HD is great, but I am really amazing at the quality of the SD programs. I've only had it a couple of days, but absolutely nothing negative to say at this point.
Ordered from Amazon but shipped from Electronics Expo -- TV arrived one day earlier than scheduled (serveral earlier than that indicated when I ordered). Arrived via UPS. Package in perfect condition. No issues with the seller, shipper, or the TV. And at a cost of $788 including shipping, a very good value!
A Good Purchase.......2007-12-01 Having done a lot of research and originally looking at the cheaper Toshiba Regza, a couple of Sony Bravias, and the Aquoses from Sharp, I was happy to settle on this one. Now, having the TV for 4 weeks, I cannot be happier. My complain for the Toshiba was that the image was not that great. Sure, it had better images than the Bravia M series (the entry Sony LCD) and the non-Aquos Sharp (there was a reason that Sharp did not want to put their Aquos name on their budget TV), but that is not speaking much. Now about the Sharps I was looking at (43U and 62U series). The 43U is ugly. Even my girlfriend thought it looked "cheap" when she saw it at a local Bestbuy. But one good thing is that Sharp has good image quality (especially the 62U) not awesome response time. But the sound is so bad on the 43U that you MUST get a speaker, which I thought was counterintuitive since you are spending so much on the TV. The 62U is great, just expensive. The Sony is expensive (excluding the M series). The best bang for the buck for me was the Panasonic. It had the fastest response time (6 seconds), fastest refresh rate (120 compared to 60), GREAT picture, and really good sound. My friends thought I had a n external speaker when we watched DVD at my place the other day. And not to mention the great Panasonic quality. (Consumer Report found that Panasonic had the least malfunction rate and this particular TV scored the highest in their most recent review of LCD TVs.)
Note: this TV is NOT perfect. There are only 2 HDMI and one component inputs for you A/V fans (in comparison, the Toshiba had 3 HDMI and 2 components) and there is NO PC input, but they were not enough to turn me away. (For your reference, I have never used a 32 TV as a computer monitor and do not plan on doing that for the foreseeable future). Oh, there is NO "game mode," but I have never experienced a lag when playing my Wii and PS2.)
